Uhmwpe is difficult to process. It is more of machining grade plastic and not for injection molding as you are currently using. Nylon is a better choice.
Container shoes is the logical name. Remember to never make a customer think to hard, it has a detrimental effect on their wallet. This is a great idea.
I suggest making them thicker As much as 4 inch thick You can then get your forks in and out without worrying. Plus they will last and last that way. It’s a great idea
Shoes! 👍👍🏾👍🏻 The only problem I foresee, actually more of an inconvenience is its removal when stacking the cans. That's in light of the difficulty of installation.
- a polymer plate "pressed / screwed/ threaded - infinite options for fixing, on the underside of a twist lock - like the caster wheel illustrated - much easier to install and remove as needed
If you want a tight fit you need a draft angles for the part to allow the container to fit down tight to the bottom of shoe/skid. the draft angle will also allow easier install and if you want it enough of a press fit at the base allow the part to be left installed. adding the draft angle will allow you to cast/injection mold the part as well, allowing you guys to have large runs of the part for sale at a decent price point.
Since you're "sliding " the container on the plastic maybe you you should call them "Container Slides" or "Sliders"......whatever you call them , they work!
Great idea, glad I thought of it 😝 just kidding, but great idea! I think container shoes is better, no confusion. Container hoofs could confuse people, it just seems like it could be something else.
Corner sandals are a great invention guys. They should be widened to cover the entire casting bottom and maximize ground contact area. If you're concerned about the narrow edge overhang, make them thicker.
@@TheContainerGuyTV ok so i found an already existing product that's called Air Casters from a company called Aerofilm. (everything already exists, am i right!)
@@TheContainerGuyTV with a longer screw in the existing mechanism, you would not hammer it in. you put the upper part inside the corner and let the screw do the pushing in of the lower part
here some ideas - 1. why dont you leverage the holes on the side to insert an impact and a special end to pull the shoe in. 2. making them with a slight pyramid taper would allow them to enter easier 3. so that you dont trap items between the shoe and the ground surface, make them have channels, like mini slider rails with a rounded edge. 4. possibly a piece of angle iron that could span the holes on the side could have a threaded nut that a countersunk bolt could be tightened or loosened (to take off). also, thanks for the cool video, it is fun watching you experiment and iterate with these ideas.
Will say it's nice to see a company care about the drop off of the container and the customers property. When I deal with container companies it's normally hit an miss.
That's what we use for trailers. I can provide an update in the future but I can already tell you they'll be fine. The steel deck against the UHMW is not abrasive. Concrete is much worse and even so, it's not like you're dragging a container down the street for 20 blocks.
Since we're picking a name. CONTAINER SKI'S sound the best. Enjoy plus you can make a side to side lager ski for dirt locations to ski across the dirt to place desire.
Not quite, the animation was to dramatize the effect after a long period of time, we’ve used them for a few weeks now and haven’t noticed any serious wear.
- ?? roller and "track" skates also - a whole range of rolling elements from steel, aluminium to teflon and UHDPE/UHMWPE could be used - even separate the sliding plate from the mechanical lock interface....... These look better as a delivery and pickup option (tilt ray or hook truck where the twistlocks aren't used to secure on the deck) - protect the customers property, but as a container handling solution - 40 tonne skates will serve better...
We can't have containers here, it's bullshit. The city will come fine you and bond your property if you get caught. All I want is something sealed up for my VW though...
Plastic guy here. Umwhdpe would be a great choice. Great wear resistance and low friction.
That's what we're going with. THANK YOU for the validation 🙏
Nylon would be a cheap option but not nearly as tough.

Container shoes! Easy to remember and most brief description of what it is.
Container shoes is the logical name. Remember to never make a customer think to hard, it has a detrimental effect on their wallet. This is a great idea.
Wisdom 🙏
I suggest making them thicker
As much as 4 inch thick
You can then get your forks in and out without worrying.
Plus they will last and last that way. It’s a great idea
Then you also have a larger lig to walk the very to get inside the container

Very cool! Container 'Skid Shoes' that way search engine catches both relevant terms. 😉
container shoes gets my vote, thanks for another great video
Thanks for the vote!

Container gliders, that's what I would call them.
ok, now make larger slippers and make it float on compressed air. and just push it around the shop with your hands.
Them furniture moving pads.. good idea haha
@@TheContainerGuyTV ok so i found an already existing product that's called Air Casters from a company called Aerofilm. (everything already exists, am i right!)
Can Crocs
🤣🤣 how about Container Slippers?
Call them container booties. . .CB's!!!🥳
Great idea!
Thanks!
why not take a longer screw and get in by screwing and not by hammering it in?
If you watched the video you’d know that the intended purpose is to be bolted in, we had to modify the prototype to make it fit better.
@@TheContainerGuyTV with a longer screw in the existing mechanism, you would not hammer it in.

Container Sneakers! Instead of shoes! Because you’re sneaking the container across the concrete lol!
Or Container Slippers?
@ isn’t sliders another name for slippers?
I like your new container "SLIDERS". Can you test them on grass/aggregate?
Wow great idea, every one will benefit from this Idea. I would call them CSC's (Container Shoe Corners) Just my thoughts.Cheers from Toronto
well done it works
I would go with Container Slippers. Because it lets the containers slip on the ground.

When I deal with container companies it's normally hit an miss.
get some of those as seen on tv furniture slides lol
😂
Container Skids or CSkids
The shoes look nice, however, I'd like to see them after a few Landoll trips....

Container skis. Since their purpose is to slide like a ski on snow.
Brilliant
Container glides
Container sandals? Haha
Haha
Have you guys made a solar carport (with water diverters) for shipping containers yet?
When will they be available?
Since we're picking a name. CONTAINER SKI'S sound the best. Enjoy plus you can make a side to side lager ski for dirt locations to ski across the dirt to place desire.
Nice. But please check how much slippery the flor will be with those white marks on the concret. Especially after water or snow aplication. Thanks
I vote for Container Shoes
I predict those plastic feet will thin and splay as they sit. The question is how long is their usable life?
container shoes!
Skid shoes
Container Skates
Awesome
It didn't look like the concrete "sanded" much off the bottom of the skids. Is that what you were seeing live?

Container sliders
Why not put it in with a jack?
Container Taps fred estair !
Should of used a jack to compress that piece in there.
You could call them "container glides".

Skip Skids
What about calling them Container skid plats
container slides
Con-slips
Container slippers
I like that one. Definitely between Shoes and Slippers. Slippers makes me laugh
Me too and you can play around with the spelling a bit for branding.... Slypper? Maybe I personally would add "Shipper's " either before or after
pay the extra to deliver with a HIAB
