UPDATE I RESEARCHED THE LAW ON THIS, you will void your warranty connecting a cable splitter in your box that is "mounted on your home" (follow the laws in your area and act at your own risk) but it is legal if you pay for basic cable (internet) and you're just connecting extra rooms for free without paying extra for cable boxes (now cable is converting to digital which this way may not work anymore). Also connecting an off-air antenna and using a splitter to your rooms is legal and is 100% FREE TV. Always ground your system. good luck
It is just another way to say "over the air" antenna. Meaning: "An antenna that picks up channels broadcast through the air rather than broadcasting using cable."
You never ground to a water pipe plan and simple, you can get a electric feed back/shock in the water. You either find a correct ground connect or just don't ground if you don't have a good ground source.
I love these people .. "Let's hang the tv on the wall...now let's put a cabinet underneath, just the right size, so the tv could sit on top of it and be the same height" makes sense...
+still34u I love these people... "Let's make a blatantly ignorant comment on youtube to feel vastly superior to the uploader" makes sense... That desk is not the perfect height, did you miss the games systems piled underneath where the Tv would have to take up space for the stand to even work? Of course you did, Jackass. Better yet, YOU go pay some odd hundred dollars for a tv and trust the crappy stands that are so badly made they seem temporary as if they shouldn't be used, sitting on top of several game consoles.... Tell me how safe you feel about that.
I misspelled brilliantly? Wow, you really aren't good at anything are you? Go hide under a rock, looks like you couldn't figure out when to cross the street.
90 something channels Wow that's crazy ! I suppose I did good for my area. I am between Athens and Atlanta. I tried using one of those indoor antenna's got like 8 channels. So I got some plans off of youtube and built my own. Got it in the air about 30 foot and now I get 38 channels. IF I were to go up another 20 foot or so I could get more. At present I get about 5 channels we watch. Thank God for Roku. You are Awesome Tampatec. !!!
wow some people here are a bunch of dummies, what this guy did was give you the answer for not accepting and not buying those crazy cable TV convertor boxes. The cable company is ripping you off! Great video, just like the NYC way to do it!
Only problem is this will only get you local broadcast channels, no ESPN, AMC, or other satellite channels. Being an employee for cable company I can tell you that box on the side of your house doesn't belong to you, the part he pulled off is a lock, very well can be fined/jailed for breaking into these boxes.
was wondering if you could do a multimeter tutorial on reading igbt circuits the small ones on tv buffer boards like 45f122 .. i think i have some activated i want to know if the tvs off are they all suppose to be switched and can some switched and some not affect the buffer boards? and please clarify and go as much in debt as you would like :) i really do appreciate all your videos they help me tremendously make a living doing electronics repair ..
Why put the splitter in the cable box? Looks like it would be easier to put it inside your home using an A/B coax switch then run a length of cable to digital rabbit ears in an area for the best reception. That's what I did and it works great.
Your videos are very useful and informative. Big thumbs up. Is there any way to test if the cable has signal? Is there any way to test the cables' connection with splitter in the middle? Thanks
Not to sure of the legal ramifications of this install. Here's my problem......... CATV is considered a "Closed" system. The CATV companies spend a lot if money in keeping that system closed. In other words, they do not want there signals leaking out and causing interference to other services, in fact the FCC demands this. Now you come along and install an external antenna to the system letting the CATV signals run up the coax and radiate from the antenna. This "Passive Antenna System" is now causing possible interference to local authorities,Fire, Police, Aircraft if your near an airport. Hence the system is in violation, meaning YOUR in violation. And it won't be long before they track the problem down.
Ct.Kirk Karaoke They can with a signal booster which is the direction Directv is currently going, depending on your configuration it's not always consistent, the genie system controls the network for the tv's which can also be programmed to integrate your internet service with your receivers to utilize the various apps features offered by directv.
Ct.Kirk Karaoke I hope you aren't trying to equate a signal leak with "wireless radio signal"? The FCC requires that cable operators check their system every quarter for signal leakage, the entire system. If a leak is found, then it must be fixed. IF it is coming from a customers home, the customer will eventually be disconnected if they don't allow the cable company to investigate the problem. A loose connection, a frayed wire, after market junk splitters and connectors all cause it. Intentionally feeding over the air signal back onto the cable plant (system) will most certainly get you disconnected and possible fined. Signal leakage (CLI) is found and not fixed, it can interfere with airplane radios, police and emergency radio, etc.Think about it this way, If you have a 2.4 Ghz cordless phone and a 2.4 Ghz wireless router, ANY time they use the same Chanel, one (usually the router) will stop working.
Jimmy Pizl Cable is still strictly regulated by the FCC. There are heavy fines and penalties for the consumer if those laws are broken. It is not "Stealing" cable, the proper term is "Unauthorized viewing". Which means; if you are watching it and you aren't paying for it, your'e breaking the law. This includes moving into a new home where the cable wasn't disconnected from the previous tenant. Whether or not the cable service is active in the video is irrelevant , it is Teaching people something that IS illegal for those that do.
Looks like u are just working with a cable sig and adding a splitter to be able to pickup sig in another room. Is there an outdoor antenna somewhere in this set up?
Tampatec I have a question. How can I switch from Spectrum cable channels to air TV channels? Recently I cut cable to the most basic channels but I've noticed the the cable box only has limited channels but the other TVs around the house that don't have cable boxes hooked up have over 30 channels. I want a way to switch from cable channels to air TV channels and vice versa on the TV that has the cable/DVR box.
So you add the antenna run that into the box then split it to the rooms you have tv and bam that's it ? I have cable coming to the box from the street but has filters on the end because I don't pay for the service ? In not sure I understand .
Anyone who recommends a RCA, Radio Shack, etc splitter has no idea about cable signal. First, that splitter is NOT designed for CATV and as you can see, it "Gold Plated". Any 2 dissimilar metals will corrode when connected. You see nowhere in the discription that it is for CATV, it says "coaxial" signal. Coaxial simply describes round cable. Trust me when I say most cable tech's will give you a better splitter for free. Further, he is inputting over the air signal into his current cable service and possibly back onto the entire cable plant. This could create issues for his neighbors and himself especially if he has internet or digital receivers hooked to the same cable system. I caution you NOT to do this if you are actively connected to a Cable System.
Can I connect an hdtv outdoor antenna to my cable box while still getting wifi? Does wifi and basic cable use the same cable input or do they come into house using different lines?
ha, all you did was to split one signal (that you pay for) to other rooms....big deal where is the free tv? my cable comp offers free hook up to all rooms for no additional cost when you join up.
we got a cablebox in the living room and i just got a new tv in my room. what should we do to get the channels? we already got a 90db antenna cable and a splitter. thanks in advance
I have a digital HDTV and was wondering how to pick up the 3 local channels we have here. I tried a couple antennas including an RCA digital antenna which is supposed to pick up local digital channels. One thing I came across was something about Best Buy and Future Shop not having cables running to their HD receivers, but their receivers picked up full digital cable. The couple videos I watched on this explained that their was a paperclip bent and shoved into the center hole on the cable in. I have tried this as well on my TV, no success.
Hey Tampatec I really enjoyed your video (s) and I like to thank you for posting them. I'd like your opinion on a problem I have with my dvd player/recorder, you see when it's off it'll turn on by itself & start making a countdown with the cable channels interrumpting whatever it is that I'm watching, sometimes it'll be off and change the display of the time with this Chan 03, Chan 04 and then it'll go back to the time. My dvd player/recorder is an "INSIGNIA" bought on 2006-2007. Coincidently I bought a new remote control (ONN) and I think it has a stronger magnet because the problems that I mentioned to you above now happen less, but I would sure like to hear your opinion or give me an orientation on how to get rid of this problem. Again thank for your videos.
I have an HD-8000 omni-directional antennae. I used rg-59 coax from when I had Directv. Would I get better signal and more channels if I just switched to RG-6 ?
Yes. RG-6 is lower loss per foot of run than RG-59. if the runs are less then say 75', you won't notice much difference. No more channels, unless the more distant local stations are a little weak, you may get a few more. But you won't get cable ones - unless you pay for cable and connect a digital TV to do as he has done. What he's done is legal under the criminal code, though the cable company will not like him going into their box, technically THEIR property by contract. It's contractually illegal to go into their box, but he's merely avoided paying for their monthly decoder box fee, which his TVs can do (decode digital TV off cable). He'll never get pay per view and scrambled subscription channels. And the re-radiation of cable signals through the off the off air antenna is so weak, practically nil, I do not read any FCC enforcement actions about that, and I get their bulletins as an FCC licensee.
Question...I want to remove my set top box from one bedroom to the den. The den has a wall outlet, but it's from another cable company. Will that cable line be at the main box, unconnected obviously...if so, can I connect it to the current cable company line and it work as it should? Thanks
ok i have basic fioptic and i have digital antenna can i get them to work together??? so i would not have to keep swiching input from hdmi1 and hdmi2????
I have a cable, phone and internet package from Comcast and I have a cable box from them on all the televisions. Would this still be the same since my cords go through the box and then to my tv?
I'm sure you not supposed to open that box, I was a ATT tech and customers were not to touch our NIU's network interface units. there was no lock on NIU's installed on customer prems for business customers, but they knew not to mess with them. for residental customers one side of the box is open, the other side is locked where the cable comes in from the underground or roof.
+Bri G. then take the ugly thing off the side of the house, including the satalight dish off the roof too when the customers un -subscribes, and fix the holes too
+brad dovel well things have gone downhill at AT&T, I worked for the old Bell System and it was very strict. We followed the BSP's (bell system practices). Today it's a different company.
My parents house does not have a cable box, the cables come out of the dirt and then go straight into a splitter for upstairs and downstairs, no ground wires anywhere. I guess Comcast is to cheap to give us a cable box like yours on the side of the house, even our neighbors do not have this fancy grey box.
I have cable internet. Some of the company (not saying) I'm able to watch a few programs on app.The kid they sent out said he had been to these apartment's before so he knew where wires we're. Inside closet with furnace. I asked what if I want to use tablet in bedroom so he put a splitter on wire and Left the 2 bedroom wire's out he said just screw one on to splitter not sure which one, you'll know if it works in that room.He offered to test but my room was a mess. So since cable comes directly out of wall screw's on to modern do I have to move TV into bedroom & screw cable from wall to TV or to digital box.Vizio TV's have no tuner's smart TV please explain so I don't break something. Already this morning I fixed my tablet,I think charger falling out same as last year. This time since I don't think att will replace a3rdX I used that metal tape you use on a furnace. Looks like its charging. thank for your Video
I live pretty far from a major city. We want to cut our cable off but keep internet and are looking for a way to get live cable. We were thinking off getting roku3 but I saw it doesn't get live tv. My wife likes survivor and basic cable stuff while i like history channel. What do you suggest?
I've hooked up the cable to my tv, and have cable on, but when I autosearch it can only find one digital channel. I get the channel and it's really good quality, but that's the only channel I get. Do you know what the problem might be? I was thinking I might need a digital tuner?
wow channels 3 5 and 8 are all yours. btw do you really think a 14ga ground wire will discharge a lightening strike. If it hits that antenna your tvs are done. catv grounding is for ingress and nec reasons and does nothing for lightning. Also if I were working next door and seen any modification to the outdoor enclosure ie: dish or antenna wire running to it. I would remove box and hack wiring so short you could not use it. R
Quick question, after they installed my cable from comcast, my t.v remote can no longer switch from t.v to video, allowing me to play my blueray home theater movies!! What should i do to get it functioning the way it was before??
then the technician will have to come out because the splitter doesn't support the higher frequencies or you just created a whole bunch of ingress/egress. not to mention if you have CPE and you don't calculate the RX and TX properly. now you know why your cable doesn't work and you get a charge on your cable bill for customer tampering.
good for now but since fcc gave the ok to scramble local channels, everyboby who has this and other devices like silicon dust and so forth are going to be useless.i have done this for past year and comcast is starting to scramble channels, only other option would be internet tv and ota.
I have a tobnshia 41 inch it is an older tv. I live in a complex where we pay our basic + rental on controller box. to manager . If I want the next tier I have to travel 60+ miles to a larger town, I then would have to pay $15 to cable Company each month how can I do what you did and get the next tier?
I've got a couple issues with this video. First, it starts with him showing how to remove a terminator to steal cable. Then he shows you how to split street cable (legal). Then scans for channels off-air and/or though cable? Im confused.
+Accurate TV Repair Home Theater Design poor millionairess lets have a benifit to raise money because they have been ripped off, by one smart guy , lol
WRONG !! Wow.... I just saw this video in my favorites. There are several problems here and others have mentioned them. If you no longer have an active cable contract you "could" disconnect the line from the street and insert a rooftop antenna to feed the house. You cannot add a splitter and mix off air (antenna) signals and cable together. The cable company purposely transmits a high power signal on the cable to check for leaks. This signal would be leaking out to the roof top antenna. Grounding the cable as shown will protect the TV from lighting strikes..... not voltage surges. Only a surge protector will stop surges.
Noted that this video was made in 2013. Today is Dec 10, 2015. Since cable companies are now using digital boxes to access cable programming, would this plan still work?
If you have charter and Comcast this wont work. I requires a box to use cable now. Also to the op video, the TV is outpouring 720 but your original source can still be 480
Can you help me with my TV it keeps jumping and flickering . If I smack it a couple of times it works back to normal but it comes back . Sometimes I turn it off and on and that fixes it for a few hours. I can show you a video if you need to see.
You did not show where you connected that roof antenna into. We can not get ABC unless our antennas are 10 ft or higher off the ground, there is a website to show your city and topography and whether or not you can receive channels in your area or not.
How do you mean connect legally when opening the cable box voids it and that's not your property? Can you not be prosecuted for forcefully opening the cable box?
I worked for cable company and those cables in the box mounted on your house are your cables legally, but cable box at the street with the lock is theirs which you can't touch. if you chose to connect more rooms for basic cable for free without paying a rental cable box that is legal. I hope that clears things up. :)
***** I have to disagree. I work for a cable company as well. I'm not sure if it's different between various companies, but for the one that I work for everything from the street to the CSE (the box that you opened) is owned by the cable company. Internal wiring is owned by the customer. The CSE's that I install actually have i disclaimer printed on them saying that stealing cable services is a prosecutable offense. However, putting a splitter on inside your house is entirely legal and cable companies have no problem with it. Just really shouldn't mess around in the box, do the splitter connection inside your house. Some techs when disconnecting cable services are lazy, and simply disconnect them inside the CSE's instead of at the street like they should. So... Stay out of the CSE's.
Accurate TV Repair Home Theater Design Yep, what he said. Stay out of the CSE, (the little grey box on the side of your house). That's the cable company's property. In fact the underground line that is ON your property, leading out to the pedistal where it hooks up to the main line is not even your property, it's the cable company's property, even though it's on YOUR land. All the internal wiring after the CSE is your property. If you're going to put a splitter on somewhere, do it after the CSE. Don't open the CSE, or you're tampering with the cable company's property. Odds are they won't do anything, but you never know...
Remember over the air antenna is legal. I don't recommend routing it through your cable gateway but he isn't doing anything illegal. Remember that all equipment has to conform to part 15 of the fcc guidelines. That means cable TV is subject to receive interferences and they have buffers to deal with that. All electronic devices (except scientific devices and other mission critical devices) MUST absorb stray signals. So routing Ota antenna through his cable gateway is legal however it makes no sense. Cable company has the right to remove equipment from his property but not to stop him from opening the gateway. As long as he isn't stealing cable and has no intention on doing so then he is in the right.
Ill Timed Will Inc Connecting to cable company systems to get their services for free, no matter how you do it is AGAINST THE LAW. I've read the law, and actually arrested (and got a conviction on) an individual for illegal connection. I'm a retired cop. Try this garbage at your own risk.
John Mood stfu pig go do what your kind is best at and attack a homeless person... when you are paying tones of money for a monthly service which you are NOT receiving they are not following up on their word... which happens ALOT. infact ive went 1/2 a MONTH without the service i PAY for (mind you this is with the best internet service in the area because all the other ones are even worse then this crap) so ill take back what i DESERVE!. and for you to call me a "troll" after calling yourself a police officer is FUNNY... you guys are nothing but thugs and trolls and have no respect for ANYONE but yourselves.
Ill Timed Will Inc You are an uncouth person. Do not speak to me like that. I never attacked a homeless person, I made sure they had shelter. as to calling me a pig, you are the uncouth animal, not me. I am proud of thy career as a police officer. Do you kiss your Mom with that filthy mouth of yours?
I don't have that cable box because I had Dish Satellite subscription, so how best can one take advantage of existing coaxial cable connection to get OTA broadcast?
Henry Wifa If your TV has a QAM tuner it may be able to pick up OTA without an antennae. The copper in the cable itself may be able to pick up some signal. Give it a shot. Hook up the old coax and do a channel scan
Um, yeah. Big goof-up. You connected the "in" port of the splitter to the black cable coming from the street, and the 2 "out" ports going to 2 rooms. But nowhere in that setup was anything coming from the antenna. So what's the point of even having the antenna? What you need in order to get a signal from the antenna is a cable coming from the antenna to the splitter. Oh, and if your intention is to have 2 signal sources (antenna AND street), then you would need a splitter that has 2 "in" ports.
this only works if there is no filter installed at the service pole but any one with common sense should know how a splitter works and you dont even need to go outside to install a splitter wtf
You are better of putting the cable behind the tack strip of the carpet & if the padding is in the way just cut if off. and when putting the cable on top or around the tack strip hammer the shit out the track strip because it will bite the cable if you dont.
I work for a satellite TV company. That thing you took out of the box to get it open is called a locking terminator. The one you had wasn't put on right or was broken off prior to your video. I have had to break into a lot of these boxes as a satellite guy because that is the only way to access the house wire I need. It usually takes 5 to 10 minutes with a hammer and chisel to bust those puppies. The cable company uses it to keep people out of their boxes. They can put them on the end of a line as well to lock out the cable inside the box as well. This is signal piracy (a felony in most states) and if you were smart you would take down this video.
I had a coax cable for wow internet, I used to have wow internet, now I have at&t uverse, I hooked the coax cable for wow internet to the back of my tv and got free cable tv
Splitter does not work digital you can spilt a digital signal. You need a dieplexer instead. Or a multiswitch. And cable company does want you yo mess with the services because of possible outages.
You obviously have no idea what your talking about. A splitter does split digital signal. A diplexer allows separate signals at opposing ends of the spectrum to combine or separate at either end of the cable. A multiswitch selects satellite lnb polarity based on voltage that the receiver sends back to the switch. I would bet you tried to split you satellite with a regular splitter instead of a multiswitch. The reason it does not work is because the splitter does not pass voltage and if it does its not properly, it has nothing to do with the digital signal. Ps. 1 All gold splitters are junk. 2 Use splitters rated 5mhz to 3ghz for cable. 3 Cable modems hate cheap splitters. Search Antronix on amazon. (they make most of cable co's splitters) Also never install more than 2 splitters. A 2 way first, one side to the modem and the other side to the tv splitter. ie 6 tvs = six way splitter. Dont go bigger than you need or your wasting signal quality.
The cable wire comes out the ground and goes into this fancy weatherproof box that NOBODY in my neighborhood has. Our wires come out the ground and then go to a splitter to split between 1st and 2nd floors. You still need a cable box for scrambled channels. HBO etc is pay only and you will not get pay per view without a Cable box either. Cable Cards do not get pay per view either which is how they make there money selling you a cable box, even though the box itself has a Cable Card installed inside of it. Especially MultiRoom units, look through the vents you will see a cable card inside.
Hello, Tampatec, are you sure this is legal? I had dish tv or dish.com tv, for almost 2 years, now I can't afford paying for this cable tv anymore. Mine is still hooked up to the outside receiver and hooked up to my television. So your telling me if I do exactly what you are teaching here I will not be arrested? I should would like t.v again, out on the air waves like old times.
+Roberto Bodellino What this video describes is NOT theft. He's using an antenna to pick up signals which are being broadcast over the air. The work he did does not tap him into the cable provider's system. This is exactly what over-the-air broadcasts are intended for.
CAN U PLZ REPLY!!!!! I HOOKED IT UP JUST LIKE U SAID AN IT WORK..I RECENTLY MOVE TO DIFFERENT PLACE AN ALSO HOOKED IT UP THE SAME WAY BUT NOW I KEEP ON SCANING AN I ONLY GET 5 CHANNELS..
Carlos Diaz use 2ghz splitter or maybe cable company put a cable filter to block channels on your coax cable in their street cable box but it's against the law to break into. get Sling TV or directtvNow or PS Vue Internet TV service.
I've worked for Cablevision in New York and Comcast in Charleston SC and that's Not legal. You can be arrested for tampering with external cable equipment.
Hi, yesterday I connect my laptop to tv n later I lost my all hd channels n I did auto tuning but it doesn't work so plz help me how can I fix my hd channel my tv is LG same as urs in ur video
+sonam tsering Did You get any HD's? I did the same and now I have Netflix and shaw .You have to press on ur remote control 249 386 at the same time and then turn on the lights in the kitchen room.
I just went out to look at how mine is connected, and it is will wires, and the persons wires and mine are connected. So how would I go about getting mine figured out?>
What persons wires. A single family house the wire comes out the ground, a splitter just lets you run cables to other areas of your house. Usually a drop ceiling in the basement you can run the cable up there and then down to where your tv is or through the inside of the wall, using a fishing tool and cutting a small hole for the wire to come out of. Ours goes to our 2nd floor, through a hole where the phone cable already comes in. We just fished it through the phone wire hole and plugged it into the tv on our 2nd floor and used a rubber circle O-Ring to keep water out of it through the aluminum siding.
What is an "off air antenna"?
It is just another way to say "over the air" antenna. Meaning: "An antenna that picks up channels broadcast through the air rather than broadcasting using cable."
Can you get HGTV? That is all my mother needs so she pays for cable, its nuts...

2:19 there is a frog in cable box when he close it it jumpt out lol
Lmao I saw it's like please just don't see me

Yeah .. i saw that brown frog .
I was thinking the exact same thing... also why didn't he let the frog out... he just locks the frog back in... uch whatever.
Kyranio the frog CLEARLY jumps out at around 2:22
how did the frickin frog get into that weather-tight box? lol
yeah, the box should be tighter than a frogs ass.
Johnny Ballgame i saw it too. it thought it was a lizard but its a motherfucking frog

Cable TV signals have NO radio carrier, so they can't travel "wireless "
Kirks Karaoke Not true. Leakage happens a lot. As Robert said, a CC has equipment and manpower alloted just for this reason.
thumbs up if you liked the frog more then the video
Can't wait to try this. That frog in the cover was fast.
did ya see it was hiding in the cover? lol
Looks like u are just working with a cable sig and adding a splitter to be able to pickup sig in another room. Is there an outdoor antenna somewhere in this set up?
Hahaha! at 2:06 I saw the frog on inside the cover. ;) :D Becoming claustrophobic at 2:23. (^_^)
What brand multiple tool are you using?

WOW THANKS! What's RGB/RG6 A way to connect USB 2 HDMI!? DIY MHL Cable or is that wishful thinking?
Question...I want to remove my set top box from one bedroom to the den. The den has a wall outlet, but it's from another cable company. Will that cable line be at the main box, unconnected obviously...if so, can I connect it to the current cable company line and it work as it should? Thanks
ok i have basic fioptic and i have digital antenna can i get them to work together??? so i would not have to keep swiching input from hdmi1 and hdmi2????
There is a frog in your cable box
Knowing that some people can't figure this out makes me feel sad.
I live pretty far from a major city. We want to cut our cable off but keep internet and are looking for a way to get live cable. We were thinking off getting roku3 but I saw it doesn't get live tv. My wife likes survivor and basic cable stuff while i like history channel. What do you suggest?
so for this project do i need a cuban treefrog or will any frog do?
I've hooked up the cable to my tv, and have cable on, but when I autosearch it can only find one digital channel. I get the channel and it's really good quality, but that's the only channel I get. Do you know what the problem might be? I was thinking I might need a digital tuner?
hey tampatec was just curious if you use xbmc/kodi
wow channels 3 5 and 8 are all yours. btw do you really think a 14ga ground wire will discharge a lightening strike.
And do you have to be paying for cable to do this?
Will u still get the analog channels if your tv doesn't have a built in digital tv tuner
wow there is a frog in the box ** if i don't move , he won't see me ** hahaha
then the technician will have to come out because the splitter doesn't support the higher frequencies or you just created a whole bunch of ingress/egress. not to mention if you have CPE and you don't calculate the RX and TX properly. now you know why your cable doesn't work and you get a charge on your cable bill for customer tampering.
good for now but since fcc gave the ok to scramble local channels, everyboby who has this and other devices like silicon dust and so forth are going to be useless.i have done this for past year and comcast is starting to scramble channels, only other option would be internet tv and ota.
Are these channels in addition to the basic cable service channels I'm already paying for from my cable service provider?
NEC says you can not ground to an outside water pipe because some are pvc just below the ground
No you need boxes most places.but ebay and some other places sell the boxes, but the splitter install he shows is accurate
If you have charter and Comcast this wont work. I requires a box to use cable now. Also to the op video, the TV is outpouring 720 but your original source can still be 480
Will different tv brands pick up more or less channels?
yes thats true i found different TV models can get more or less digital channels when auto scanning.
Can you help me with my TV it keeps jumping and flickering . If I smack it a couple of times it works back to normal but it comes back . Sometimes I turn it off and on and that fixes it for a few hours. I can show you a video if you need to see.
if it flickers on only tv turner input then its loose connection ( bad cable connection or tv's bad solder connections on video board) or weak signal.
if its Comcast, just take a really big and heavy hammer and give it one good whack or ten
How to watch HDTV
Step 1 pay for it
+GaminWorld101 Free means that you don't pay monthly...
Not if you use the free over the Air Digital HD signal lol HD cable TV is a different Story..
*****
I have to disagree.
Accurate TV Repair Home Theater Design
Yep, what he said.
***** It depends on the vendor and system. Some vendors charge per room and others dont,
Jimmy, check out his angieslist account. Every positive comment (all five of them) were all written with the same terrible grammar.
TV Splitter is wrong it has to be a balanced splitter 3.5 even across I cable TV Company installs Digital splitter so the signal dies not drop
The box he went into is Cable company property and every cable TV contract I ever saw PROHIBITS it.
John Mood the box on your HOUSE is your property... the box on the STREET is theirs.
Ill Timed Will Inc
You are an uncouth person.
Hook up the old coax and do a channel scan
where did you hook up the antenna?
plz help me. my samsung smart tv has a purple verticle line. how can I fix this
call a tv repairman
there is a problem with either the screen or the motherboard. I to have a Samsung and i have the same vertical line.
Didnt u fix tht
Oh, and if your intention is to have 2 signal sources (antenna AND street), then you would need a splitter that has 2 "in" ports.
cable tv is alternative to wacth television, but the price too high..
this only works if there is no filter installed at the service pole but any one with common sense should know how a splitter works and you dont even need to go outside to install a splitter wtf
Supergamer 1 eeeeww
My Area A Box is required for all HDTV Channels and Paid Channels
I have DirecTV but i don't see a cable box like yours in my house.
I have a question does it have disney channel and nickelodeon ?
LOL! A gecco ran out of box at 2:24 in video. :-)
what if it's a Pontiac solstice ? last time I tried it my car locked :0
(they make most of cable co's splitters)
Also never install more than 2 splitters. A 2 way first, one side to the modem and the other side to the tv splitter. ie 6 tvs = six way splitter. Dont go bigger than you need or your wasting signal quality.
burnz163 YEP, router gets on the very first split , period
Ok I was talking about a
UHF/VHF Splitter. And a,digital splitter is what works. Yeah you right a switch of satellite.
Yeah a digital signal can't be split but a digital spitter transfer the signal to the other line.
I have a modem internet how can I get free cable with my modem
have samsung 40" model # LN40B540P8F replaced conn and inverter board screen still black but has sound what next?
how do u hook up cable to a house with multiply rooms?
But you didn't show where the other cable came from? Was it already there by the cable company?
I should would like t.v again, out on the air waves like old times.
you need a box to decode satellite channels
Does it have channel 38.2 Cartoon Network for kids
How do we identify which cables go to which rooms?
cable toner or 2 people with phones, one person with the tv and one switching cables at junction box.
+Roberto Bodellino What this video describes is NOT theft. He's using an antenna to pick up signals which are being broadcast over the air. The work he did does not tap him into the cable provider's system. This is exactly what over-the-air broadcasts are intended for.
Is there any way I could do this with fios?
Does this really work?
Tampatec thankz for the quick response...yea i think thats wt it is,because in my old house i was getting alot of good hd channels..thank you again
I've worked for Cablevision in New York and Comcast in Charleston SC and that's Not legal. You can be arrested for tampering with external cable equipment.
This is common sense....
your a tv installer but you don't have the tool to open the demark box.???
Hi, yesterday I connect my laptop to tv n later I lost my all hd channels n I did auto tuning but it doesn't work so plz help me how can I fix my hd channel my tv is LG same as urs in ur video

+HaiLsKuNkY seriously?
June Piyathida yeah
You should add 'OTA' in the title.
Hey Anybody..! See frog inside the cabel Conection Box..!
funny..!
Tampatec all I want to know is if this is legal or not?
and did you really get prosecuted for doing this video?
I just went out to look at how mine is connected, and it is will wires, and the persons wires and mine are connected. So how would I go about getting mine figured out?>
What persons wires. A single family house the wire comes out the ground, a splitter just lets you run cables to other areas of your house. Usually a drop ceiling in the basement you can run the cable up there and then down to where your tv is or through the inside of the wall, using a fishing tool and cutting a small hole for the wire to come out of. Ours goes to our 2nd floor, through a hole where the phone cable already comes in. We just fished it through the phone wire hole and plugged it into the tv on our 2nd floor and used a rubber circle O-Ring to keep water out of it through the aluminum siding.
hi i like your video, how to get free to air channels, all open channels,i have Fibe tv now, i am from montreal canada.Thank you.
Don't ground to your cold water pipe.
That doesn't work with a satellite cable. You won't be able to watch TV on both TVs simultaneously...
