Edit, i have made updates and edits in the description of the video! Bhopping isn't frame perfect. It is about near tick perfect jumps (1-7 give or take)! But more fps generally makes it easier.
tip: this is extremely hard to do on offline servers with no ping, so if youre practicing offline, put "net_fakelag 30" in the console to simulate artificial ping (so its easier to hit)
This needs to be higher. Let's you practice the maps you play the most without all the chaos. I accidently discovered this while trying to get my garden timing down I thought I would try this command. Started hitting bhops all of a sudden and was confused until I realized the correlation.

Also bhopping with the air strike is easier if you practice a lot. Here’s a list of useful examples with every class from personal experience : Scout: You can’t no matter how hard you try. Double jump interferes Soldier: low hp with the escape plan and the air strike and market gardener examples you mentioned Pyro: Powerjack or detonator jump and Powerjack bhopping combo Demoman: useless unless you’re a Demoknight with a 4 head Eyelander Heavy: GRU or being whipped by a soldier on ur team Engineer: only useful if escaping or combine with a wrangler jump Medic: perfect for dodging, escaping or whenever ur healing a Scout Sniper: kinda useless unless u rocket surf and then hit a few bhops Spy: Taking dmg while using DR or using big earner Another thing to mention is that Gravel Pit and Granary has a few bhopping spots that are rlly useful. This is a great vid man.

12:30 this is called an edgebug, where you surf on the very last pixel of an object, negating fall damage. very hard to pull off intentionally in tf2 servers because of the high tickrate. but this technique can be pulled off on any object in tf2
At 12:31 you did a type of bounce hop where you can uncrouch and jump in the same game tick to negate fall damage. No one really knows about it since it requires very specific conditions.
The smaller the technique, the more versatile and flexible it can be in practice, so thank you for makimg this detailed but easy to follow and apply tutorial!
Holy shit I started today barely able to hit single bhops on tr_walkway and literally a couple of quick drills bhopping from the wall to the ramp and now I can hit quadruple and quintuple bhop gardens! Time for hightower babyyyy. Nice vid man ❤️

12:25 this was 2 years ago so I'm sure you know by now, but that was a crouch bug, when you uncrouch and jump at perfect timing, and lucky server ticks, you can cancel fall damage.
negating fall damage from a bhop is called a jumpbug very similar to a bhop but its when your uncrouch at the same time as bhoping u womt take fall damage. it only works at certain heights though

At 12:26 you did a jumpbug not a bhop. They are simillar but jumpbugs are way harder to time since you have to jump in your uncrouch animation as your landing (tick perfect almost)

When you don't take fall damage, it's probably because you've edge bugged off a pebble or some tiny little bit of the map that otherwise has no effect on the game but on most maps, there are some little oddities like that. You don't have to bhop to utilise them.
There is no extra speed from what I understand. The extra speed reading is coming from the new vertical speed (whether upwards at the start or downwards by the end of the jump) counting into your total speed. Before you had 320 horizontal. Now you have 320 horizontal + ~70. This may be wrong though if your speed reader is tracking horizontal speed only but I doubt it since it clearly goes much higher when you fall off a cliff, indicating that’s it’s tracking vert+horizontal.
So, I have a pretty bad pc, 90 FPS max, and 20-300 ping every now and then. And I get people telling me its impossible to bhop with only the spacebar, "It needs multiple spacebar inputs in a second". Though I bhop with only the spacebar, so is this just misinformation or what
@Sardarge_ it is you can bhop with just space bar. FPS doesn't matter much but helps a lot. All it comes down to though is timing and practicing. There is no perfect method
how can you tell at 11:50 that you are hitting the bhops right or not? is there a sure way to tell without having the MG out to test if you get crit or not? also at 12:41, can you actually get an MG crit if you can't hear the woosh sound from the Rocket Jumper? Thanks for the help

Is it a glitch on your screen keyboard emulation or you really use S as walk right and D as walk back? +F as atack and Shift also does something. What a strange thing. Are your fingers broken?
You only want to use it to walk forwards to start the bhop(samething with rocket jumping). When your bhopping you dont want to use W to move or itll mess up the directionin which your tryna go, so only use your strafe keys (left and right) when you get a running start and that will keep your speed as you jump. progression 2 in the video is how'd you do it
Great guide! Have you ever heard of this tf2 mod called open fortress? If not you should definitely check it out cuz I feel like you would dominate every server you’re in since bhopping is an actual movement mechanic in the game and you’re basically a bhopping god in tf2
Any thoughts on this?: I've experimented with macros/loops which spam the jump action, and it looks to me that no matter how perfect is the synch between jumping and being close to the ground, there is still a big chance the server won't register your bhop, and this chance appears to change both between different servers and in a same server over time.
there is a server side "WAIT" command that stops you spamming inputs with commands servers with this command disabled will have no problem with a loop/macro but any valve server will be inconsistent af, this will be because you may get lucky and your jump will perfectly sync up with the wait timer, other times it will not. This is why it will appear to change in the same server over time and different servers. You are infinitely better off learning the actual bhop technique. Hope this helped.
@@DetectiveDeuche thanks! that was really helpful, but I forgot to say that I also have experimented doing the same thing but using mwheeldown too (I always bhop using mwheel, the macros where just an experiment) and the same phenomenon still occurs, I can also say that macros aren't of much help, they are similar to using the wheel in terms of bhop success. For example in private lan servers both using macros and mwheeldown I get the same average consecutive bhops (like 8 consecutive bhops average) In the end macros might be useful for people who suck at using the mwheel, but as you get better using macros isn't really an advantage and it might even be worse because it makes it harder to control when and how to bhop , so I doubt pros use macros
@@Prisoner for sure, I also noticed if you do more then about 8 inputs a second the game cant handle it and will just sease registering jump inputs all together so I find mwheel useful but if you go too fast it'll basically be worse than just jumping with space
@@Prisoner I dont know the exact number for certain but it seems to be around 8-10 inputs before the server gives up, you can try yourself by going on a server with sv_cheats 1 and doing "host_timescale 0.5" or "host_timescale 0.25" and see how many jump inputs you can manage while bhopping before the game stops you being able to jump for me the sweetspot seems to be 9 inputs or less provided my timing was good always seems to work but more than that is where it starts to cut out, 15 and above was almost always too many but I have no idea where the hard limit is.

You can crouch while in the air but you can't hold crouch as the same time your trying to jump it won't work. As your in the air you can do anything movement wise but you do a regular jump to bhop and in the air you can crouch

if you have a bit of downward speed bhopping off of a downward ramp can shoot you forward too which is pretty great
