Thanks a lot but if you want simple way just go to windows setting and search turn windows features on or off.

i did all of this, ran command prompt with admin..., but when i wrote telnet google.com 80 and pressed enter it opened black screen and nothing was happening
If the screen goes black the connection was successful, that is normal, you're connected.
I have the same issue Jarrod, how do I see my email inbox? I have a lab assignment and I can only get as far as the blinking blank screen!! Madness haha, can you help?

+Beyar N I haven't seen that particular error before, what version of Windows are you running? Is it fully up to date? What are you doing exactly before that occurs?
You can try run a "sfc /scannow" in command prompt to perform a scan to see if there are any problems detected.

(im a noob rn) Can someone help me out here so im using putty and trying to connect to a telnet server i successfully connect then i enter in a token and then the window closes its self anyone know a fix?
To be honest I've never used putty for telnet, I assume you checked the telnet radio button though just below where you stick the IP/hostname? I've only ever used Windows command prompt or bash in Linux to telnet.

What happens if i there is no telent to enable in "turn windows features on and off" ???
Try the link in the description, there are ways to do it with PowerShell.
I had to format (restore) my PC after it won't start windows. Thank to a software that i downloaded.
Anyway, after i restored my PC,, i can see the telnet option.

When Using cmd line got an error:740
That means you're not running command prompt with elevated privileges, aka as admin, which is required.
Run cmd as administrator
From where did i enable telnet server feature in windows 10
I think they removed it.
