Figuring out how to use Telnet to watch that "secret" Star Wars ASCII animation is one of my earliest memories of fiddling around with computers as a kid - was probably 8 or 9 at the time. Thanks for the awesome videos, think I'll try to learn as much as I can with them, as I'm remembering how it felt to discover world of computers and technology growing up. If only other fields of study had such well made presentations easily available - they make learning the material so much simpler and faster.
I have recently started studying networking and whenever I see a video on a topic from you I feel relieved. Your videos are quite simple and intuitive. Thanks a ton for making such videos!
Because the primary role of schooling is not to educate, but to churn out economically productive members of society. The pursuit of pure knowledge is the most noble of pursuits; learning things for no reason other than to Know. I learned more in my free time than I ever did in School.
Those Telnet examples are so cool, I'm glad you showcased that at the end. I just discovered your channel today and I'm hooked after just 3 videos because of how easy it is to follow along.
I remember Telnet very well. I used to love the billboards. It was like an old version of Internet Relay Chat back in the good old days. Things were so much more fun back in those days. I miss it.
I love your channel since i found out about it 1 year ago, the narrator is doing an amazing job with his straight to the point approach, also love the animations. Could you please consider making a video explaining HIDS, NIDS and IDS?
As an amateur radio operator, a "ham", we still use telnet. Primarily for the use of DX (foreign) station spotting to make others aware of what we are hearing.
Hey your videos are great, but they would be even better if you made a playlist with everything in order of what you need to know so it's easier to understand the videos and terms used. Hope you read this and keep up the good work!
omg, that telnet Netherland link, it has made my day!!! Thanks! kudos to those who put that much effort to make it, and thank for sharing it with us :)
Holyshit, just found out this channel. All the videos explained difficult topics with an excellent breakdown and explanation. 2 thumbs up for this channel. Keep uploading good contents m8. U deserve more subs
I f'd up about technology or history of certain technology, this really helped me understanding the OG of network protocol, easy to understand, Thank you!
@@PowerCertAnimatedVideos seriously ur videos are awesome. It gave me a crystal clear info. I would like to know have u done viedeoa about ACL AND EACL, router back-up,then about eigrp, igrp, ospf etc.
Good video. Telnet doesn't require an administrator level command prompt in order to work after installation. Probably a better practice not to use elevated command prompt for things such as telnet.
Telnet is more than a client+service. Telnet is mainly a network protocol that is used by SSH too to transfer console metrics like TERM, width and height.
i hope , u add somethng on VM and windows OS concepts as well. ur way of explaining is so much better and without complexities. Please add virtualization in ur vidz.
Great videos! Still, I have a question. When using SSH potocol for comunication with server, how does the server know, how to decrypt the data ? If the server knows how to decrypt it, how come that a hacker can not do so ? Thank you for fulfilling content :)
When secure communication is established at the beginning of the ssh session, the client and server negotiate the algorithm and keys. So both machines know how to encrypt and decrypt. For some protocols, an attacker might be able to sniff the negotiation and decrypt based on this information. In other cases, the attacker must impersonate both entities to hijack the system (man in the middle attack). Among the reasons why you should install all updates on your PC, is that some of the algorithms require certificates issued by authorities. When a certificate or authority is no longer deemed secure (it has been used badly or has been attacked) it is removed from the list of valid certification authorities. These informations are pushed to PCs with updates.
You should use a pi to wrap your telnet connection in an SSH connection…. A pi on the local network will make the telnet connection and you connect to it over SSH from the internet
You explain everything with the intent to make others understand, rather than to just show off knowledge like a lot of people. Great job sir..
nah, bruh, that shit is in your mind, not his, mine or Linus's ))) for da hoots!
Haha.. mostly show off ah ? hmm. it's depend bro. But this channel really wants pple to understand, tats y pple love it. 😁

I learned more in my free time than I ever did in School.
I know right? I feel like what I'm learning now fills the gap of what I've learned in school...
I feel like I've finally found a source of computer information that actually gives the _why,_ not just all the technical detail about how.
Wow, was just setting up an SSH server and client on my phone today because I was bored, and you were working SSH/Telnet, that's so cool!

For those not in the know. Wunderground is short for "weather underground" and it's IBM's weather service.
