But the explanation is wrong and incomplete… this is not an explanation of the DHCP protocol. Rather it’s a (incomplete) explanation of a DHCP server. Nothing is explained about the actual DHCP protocol. It’s good to try and make things easy and understandable, but it should be complete and correct. Seems to me the maker of this video has limited knowledge of actual networking subjects like dhcp, arp, broadcasting etc.

👍🏻 An exceptionally clear educational concept!! Precise descriptive text and very good pronunciation (in terms of content AND acoustically!).
A feast for the eyes and didactically very valuable: the accompanying animations ("...people think in pictures").
I myself have little technical knowledge of the IT sector, but after enjoying the various presentations I understand a few things much better in relation to the topics - the knowledge I have learned is often even useful for "home use".
This makes learning twice as much fun!

in-depth yet crystal clear. we need people like this man in the Unis to teach, not the academic a-holes who throw a bunch of jargons at you to show off their esteems and past glories and gives no interest in their teaching methodologies.
This is why sometimes a cert is more important than Uni degrees.
I have friends who can find jobs with CompTia certs without prior experience nor degree in the IT, and another friend who's gone thru 3 year IT degree at Uni and still don't know how to clarify what a BIOS is.

There is no information about DHCP-messages (DISCOVER, OFFER, REQUEST, e.t.c), timers, options and the other things related to DHCP, that obviously you were told during your Btech. One important thing to mention is that you can also ask your DHCP-server to expire your lease immediately. Lets say there are no available IP-adresses, and your friend wants to connect to the internet, you can expire your lease to give your friend access without configuring the DHCP-server. This can be done with the command "ipconfig/release" in cmd (windows).

All of the info here is accurate, but the process has been simplified for an introductory audience. It’s important to understand the overall process, but also remember that systems like these work on a model of explicit commands, requests and acknowledgements. It’s one thing to understand the general concept, but another thing altogether to diagnose or troubleshoot the process when problems occur.

Excellent videos. While I applaud your efforts and your commitment to the CompTIA line of certification studies, I can't help but wonder if you would be willing to create more higher level certification series videos such as CCNA material for different categories. (R&S, DC, Security, etc).

This video was way too much. Insanely well explained, very fundamental and very easy to follow. Thank you so much for this contribution to the world.

Amazing video! By chance do you have plans on producing a lecture for Security Plus. Always found that the use of animation of certain topics help better explain a topic.
