When Fernando went for his high note, he jumped an octave, while Jackie just went up just one note, but since she sang it so loudly, that her overtones kicked in and made it almost SOUND like she was matching him [but she wasn't]. This was Fernandos' kick-as$ note, not Jackie's. If you ask me, it played very well. The whole song was fantastic.
Lots of emotion generated by both. Visually the most eye pleasing performance seeing both so wrapped on stage. It does leave one wanting more. I've followed Ms. Evancho since AGT 2010 and very impressed by her success and beautiful voice, her range is beyond description.
Her mid range is emotion evoking, her upper register always wraps itself around the males vocal...as with Bocelli in Bangkok, Thailand...and here. Her PBS Longwood Gardens Performance of O Mio Bambino Caro is the best I've ever heard. Thanks for this post, ma'am! 😊
The look of pure unadulterated joy on your face was familiar. It's the same look I had on my face for the whole Jackie Evancho concert I attended 2 months ago! You MUST attend one of her concerts. Her live shows are just unbelievably good! Maybe she will be touring Europe and UK soon, now that she is an adult.
She has sung with Bocelli, Carerras and Domingo, three of the greatest tenors of the last 50 years. Jackie was only 6 years old when Pavarotti passed away so she missed singing with him. :( She has also sung onstage with Sarah Brightman who is well known in Italy but Brightman has sung so many duets with so many singers in her 40 year career in Classical music that she deserves the name 'Princess Of Duets'. I would love to hear Jackie sing with the other great Spanish Tenor Jose Cura. Here are Jose and Sarah singing 'Just Show Me How to Love You'. As I write this on July 24th 2019, Jackie Evancho is, in my humble opinion, still the most beautiful voice in the world. It's easy for us to forget that while Jackie has been singing for 10+ years, she's still just 19! Her voice and style has not settled into its final form. Jackie's voice is so versatile that it may never be settled. I am still in awe of the many great young singers who have really came after Jackie. All are fabulous! And it seems that the latest upcoming international star is a 16 year old Russian by the name of Diana Ankudinova. Diana's voice is a very beautiful Contralto. Very heavy and deep with great range. This is a typically perfect performance by Jackie. However can I ask you to consider another wonderful duet, not to compare with Jackie as she has no equal in the crossover genre. It is "Music of the Night" from "Phantom of the Opera" sung by Martin Chodur and Patricia Janeckova ( pronounced Yan-etch-kova). The ending is breathtaking.
Fernando and Jackie were stunning together for this duet and the audience was clearly enthralled. Big time performance by both.
