I don't know much about musical terms, but everyone else says that Jackie is a mezzo soprano. She has incredible power and range. Her high notes give a person chills, her low notes are so warm and deep. She had just turned 11 here, but she is 24 yrs old now and writing and performing very impressively in the alt pop genre after changing direction from over a decade plus dazzling us with her classical crossover. She is a beautiful person with the voice and talent to match

      I agree.
They are right and wrong, both, and it doesn't matter much since she doesn't have to sing opera roles on stage where her voice MUST fit into the range of the score, and with other singers during duets.
Today, music is mostly performed on today's "Tempered Scale" where the notes are spaced more evenly than in the days of opera. In olden times, sing a song in C would sound bright and all happy notes, but shift it to B, and it would sound like a dirge. Point being, singers today can shift a song to [almost?] wherever they feel more comfortable.
She seems to be trying to [1] shake off the 'cute kid with a great voice' stigma and [2] sing more contemporary music, and maybe blend in with all the other singers. As she has grown older, she favors Mezzo, but can still sing the soprano range, and her voice HAS sounded best and most completely at ease there. [to me, at least].
I'm a bit concerned for her based on the dark tone of Solla, but whatever, she's trying to find her niche, that is, whatever is best for her to sing and sell to her contemporaries. I doubt the search is over yet. She's in those years of 'self discovery' still.
She has always had a sort of dark side, and much more modern tastes.

Hello sir, Jackie would be 11 years old, more or less, in this performance. What a mature and powerful voice at that age 👏👏. The composer of this song is Shigeru Umebayashi, I really like him. I listen a lot of his instrumental music, he's a genius. See you next time 👋🎶

Yes, her EP, "Oh Holy Night" released at age 10, two months following her time on AGT, made her the youngest Platinum artist in U.S. history. She still holds that distinction, previously held by Michael Jackson. The album sold more copies around the world than any other Christmas album of that year.

Vet, as others have probably said, she filmed a complete concert while turning 11. She came to the public eye doing 'America's Got Talent' program in 2010 season. A listener can categorize her voice in any of three ways: Contralto, Mezzo, or Soprano since she covers the three ranges professionally and beautifully. However, she is a soprano, not just by range, but by her fache, [or where her vocal weight is most comfortable - sort of].
By the way, "Dream With Me" was the first of several DVD concerts sponsored as 2 PBS "Great Performances" concerts plus one other PBS concert. All three were televised. The Dream With Me DVD showed about 15-18 out of 18-19 songs by Jackie on her special edition CD disc for the concert. One might say that's quite an accomplishment for a pre-teen, given the concert settings, orchestration, etc.
Here's a sample of her soprano voice: Enjoy. This is for you. ruclips.net/video/gEzA7IAq_PA/видео.html

Omg! I am estatic to see Jackie Evancho reacted to. This era when she was with David Foster produced some of the most beautiful and and amazing music. From a 10 yr old. She was quite a phenomenon. Beautiful lovely child. I think she enunciated better before vocal coaches got hold of her imo.
Almira is good....but Jackie touches me more emotionally. Thanks for your honest reaction.
    This whole show was great.

Jackie's performances on AGT at age 10 opened the door for child singers like Amira, inspired by Jackie to compete on talent shows singing classical songs. None have equaled her history-making achievements Jackie, the youngest Platinum solo artist in U.S. history at age 10, remains the most successful solo artist ever to have competed on AGT, having become a multi-millionaire at age 12, and having released 8 consecutive albums to hit #1 on the Classical Chart by age 18. She has performed over 190 solo concerts nation-wide since age 11 with command performances in 9 countries around the world, plus countless special appearances and private engagements. She is 24 years old now, writing, composing and producing her own music.

Jackie is not "the most successful solo artist ever to have competed on AGT" not by a long way.
Look at Lindsey Stirling's career, who auditioned in the same season as Jackie and who the "judges" dismissed as someone whose act was "going nowhere" - now with over 14 million RUclips subscribers, beating Jackie by more than10 times!

Jackie is documented to have a "one-in-a-million pure opera voice". She is famous for the purity of her upper register, what is referred to as a "bell-tone" clarity. She is a mezzo soprano with a nearly 3 octave range at this age. Other songs from this concert demonstrate her upper register clarity more dramatically. Thanks for your reaction.
