Such GREAT Ideas for the holidays and gift giving! Thank you so much Joan for sharing your talent and ideas with us! I had never tried decoupage before, but after following your channel, I have started a new crafting addiction!
I love doing paper napkins cards. Quick, clean , and simple. I do one more step when ironing the napkin. I flip the card over to the back side and quickly run the iron one more time. By doing this I ensuring I catching all the corners and this method also helps the card from warping, which may sometime happens if the iron is too hot .Also if the iron is too hot, you may also experience air bubbles. There is moisture in the paper and if the iron is too hot , this may happen.

I've watched several of your videos and they are fantastic. I just finished my first two iron on projects and they turned out great--no wrinkles at all. Do you know if there is a way to get a crackle effect when using the iron on method?
Not sure that would work because the crackle is done with glue and the iron would probably melt it, then no more crackle...lol I usually crackle and then just decoupage on top , no iron, just my fingers and some Saran Wrap. The crackle kind of hides any wrinkles that may pop up. Hope that helps and thank you for the kind words! 🙂
Thanks for your reply. I wanted to use designer series paper from Stampin'Up but it's a heavier weight than the napkins. Will the SU paper work? Thanks
Beth and HD Mitchell I think it would be too heavy and the cover would than be too thick to tuck under the little flap. The napkin scraps are so thin, the cover tucks right under. - Joan 🙂
Help! Just now tried my first card - followed your instructions to the letter - it hasn’t worked - I am using glossy cards (they’re all I could get) so could that be why? They’re not porous enough?
I never tried glossy. You can use Mod Podge instead of the Saran Wrap which may work better. 2 coats of Mod Podge where you want the napkin. Let dry between coats then follow the rest of the steps in the video. Good luck! Joan
Wow. Great idea. I’m going to try this using a Teflon ironing cloth instead of parchment paper. But where did you find such beautiful napkins? And are they just regular napkins?
Hi Teresa Sue! I have never used a Teflon cloth, I’m not sure it will work, let me know. The napkins I use are from Vippies Designs. Vippies has a really good selection and you can order just one of any design so no minimum. They are paper napkins. They’re website is www.vippies.com 🙂
Beautiful! I love this idea! Do you think this method is effective on a canvas? Maybe difficult on the raised canvas but I'd love to try this on the flat canvas. At the mean time, it's August and it's time to make Christmas cards!
