The reason bunnies don't like their back paws being lifted up is because that is all their support. Rabbits balance all their weight on their back legs/feet which is why they can lift themselves up and look around while sitting on their back feet. When you lift one of their back feet up they feel they are unbalanced and unstable and panic. It would be like if you were standing and someone reached down and pulled one of your legs/feet up off the floor.
My rabbit is soo skiddish. I've had her for a year now and she will not let me hold her or let me even touch her paws. Idk what to do
Some rabbits don't like being held, it's sad since you can't really snuggle but :\ My rabbit also doesn't like his paws being touched, but if I were you i'd touch your rabbits paws often just to get her used to it, is she doesn't react give her a treat and continue to hold the paw, if she kicks or bucks, then don't give her a treat, drop her paw then try again, hope this helps :)
Abbey Harkin I had a rabbit like that he wouldn't let me do anything for a year. I suggest that you start over with the rabbit, work with the rabbit for 1-2 hours a day give the rabbit a treat often, plenty of veggies, it should start trusting you.
I give my rabbit some food when doing it because she cares only about the food :D
Abbey Harkin I have a rabbit like that my brother might hold her sometimes will I trim them other times I will hold her and calm her down the take her paw then I trim them (her nails)

Love the video! :) It's really easy clipping my Lionhead rabbit's nails, because she literally lets me have her sit like a human and sticks her feet out for me XD My other rabbit struggles a lot though, so it's harder with him.

ive had my rabbit daisy for 3 years, and im still nervous for cutting her nails because i have anxiety too. i find it easier for me and the bunny if my mom helps hold her on the table and passes me her foot so its much easier for me to cut nails without the worry of holding the foot too.

My rabbit is far from calm, I can't clip his nails so I have to take him to the vets... he goes crazy so it's extremely difficult :(

Potatis Mos here's a suggestion... You can go to a animal shelter and see all the choices and varieties of rabbits and mabey when you find the one you can take him or her home and most of the time there already spayed/neutered

I have had my mini rex rabbit for a year and a few months and he still doesn't seem comfortable around me! He lets me pick him up, clip his nails, and so on, but still sometimes lunges at me. I don't know if hes afraid of me, or i'm afraid of him biting me! I guess what i'm asking is how do I bond with my rabbit and get him to trust me?! In the year that I have had him your channel has been so helpful!

Misty is my favorite lol. I have a mini Holland lop bunny and a lion head bunny. the lop is a boy and the lion is a girl. My boy doesn't mind getting his nails cut he is pretty easy. But I just can not cut the girls nails, do you have any suggestions that would help?

I have a generally aggressive rabbit that doesn't like to be touched. How do I clip her nails? She likes to move a lot and is VERY difficult to hold.
The 5th diget in the front paws of rabbits, cats and dogs are called dewclaws.
For me it was the easiest way to let the rabbit sit on my lap and just take one paw after the other with my left hand while clipping with the right. but on my lap it was very easy to use as well my arms to make sure, she wouldn't just run off.
At that hight you use there I would fear the bunny might just jump off there and hurt itself...but your rabbit seems to be okay with it. Mine was a bit "jumpier". Sometimes it climbed up my arms onto the shoulders and I had to go down, as I didn't want to risk her to fall or jump off there"xD

Sarah Howell usually bunnies groom themselves having baths aren't really that healthy for the rabbits. And trust me I know I have 6 bunnies
Baths aren't necessary and they aren't good for rabbits so I suggest not giving her a bath

If it's a hot day and you want to cool her down, you can wet your fingers with cool water and dab it onto her ears, that will help her to keep cool in addition to other cooling methods.

I love your videos but I have a question. I'm not really a new rabbit owner but every rabbit before the two I have now have died. My boy rabbit is always moulting. Every time I pick him up his hair always gets up my nose and flies around. Is there any way to stop/decrease it happening? Like brushing maybe?

This is a question for anyone watching and I'm asking for opinions and not facts.
I want to switch to a c&c grid cage BUT I have a rabbit hutch. I really like it because my grandfather made it and I don't want to throw it away. I really need another use for it so I'm not "getting rid" of it. Now here is the question: What to you think I should use it for? I have a little sister so one idea I have is a playhouse/ cage for her toys after I clean it and add fleece on the bottom but that's all I can think of.
Probably to late but uhhh??? get a 2nd bunny??? Just keep both the same and your bunny can have 2 cage/hutch/homes (this wasn't very helpful :D)

My rabbit is very calm when clipping his nails but only when he is held like a baby. Is this normal?
Hes calm because he cant move and I believe its not save to hold them like that
samantha weird he only like being held that way and some times he jumps out or is very skittish so I don't think it's that he can't move, and he only likes it if I hold him not anyone else.
