- Misty's hocks have gotten sore :( In this video I show what I'm doing to treat it and to help it heal. I continue to learn about rabbit just as you guys do! I'm in no way an "expert" and never will be, there will always be more to learn.

they were probably watching it upside down and thought it was the like button
Sharon O'Dowd misty disliked because she got called old and heavy
It was probably Misty.
Aww poor misty hope she gets better soon
My bunny has those same hocks. I have been using a cream that the vet gave us and also using memory foam mats with soft blankets for her pen. She seems to be okay, but I get worried a lot about her🐰🐾
Can you tell me what medicine??
@@tabassum570 yes plss tell the medicine
Poor misty 💕💕💕bless ❤️
AWHHHHHH POOR MISTY!!!! GET WELL SOON!!! THANKS FOR INFO!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yup it is mostly common in older rabbits. Foam bath mats are excellent for this. I have several in Henny’s enclosure. She loves sleeping & hopping on it.
Oh no! Poor misty hope she gets well soon love u Abby lots of love to misty and storm!!❤️❤️❤️

Your bunnies are drop dead adorable and I love and want them all😍❤️
Poor Misty hope she gets better soon thank you for the information! ( p.s nice Pikachu socks XD )
So nice that you care so much for your bunnies 😭💖
Hey Abby! You’re such a great bunny parent. My bunnies both have the same sore hocs on their feet but I took them to the vet and they said that’s perfectly normal. You don’t actually need to do anything unless it opens. My bunnies have had them for so long bc they live on carpet but they’ve never bled or opened up. I think Misty is probably fine but you are so sweet and I love that you care so much. I hope this helps Misty but I also want to reassure you that it’s not much to worry about at that stage and likely won’t get worse. Good luck ❤️
Thanks! I already know that her hocks aren't that bad, I am just over cautious and want to make sure she'll be fine as she get's older :)
StormyRabbits You are so sweet! Your bunnies are very lucky. This is great for educational purposes too! Keep up the good work!
@@Morseys Honesly, I don't think they will improve. Just keep excess weight off of her and make sure the places she usually sits and very padded with fleeces ect. Trying to treat this way may make it worse (wet/damp feet on hard or abrasive surfaces such as carpet can actually cause sore hocks) and is just stress from the bunny. I tried so many medications from the vets, my own research (bagbalm was very overrated online at the time) ect. and it just caused them further stress tbh.
I thought carpet was ok? They just can’t be on a slippery floor
This will be very helpful in the future when I have to deal with this! Thank you so much!💕
Hope she gets better soon, my bunnies haven't had it before. Good luck❤❤
my rabbit had sore hocks not to long ago and i thought she was gonna die but we took her to the vet and the gave her medicine so she is doing much better now!!!
Awww poor misty :( hope the sore hocks go away soon :)
Aww, Misty 💙🐰🤕 One of my buns has this, too, and has had it since I rescued him (he was approx 1 yr old). I’ve tried everything, and I don’t like giving my buns medication unless it’s absolutely necessary. So I was really upset after all the meds the vet gave us that didn’t end up helping at all. Good luck Misty!!! 🍀
Aww poor misty hope she feels better
Poor Misty! I hope your beautiful girl gets no worse. Your sharing this helps educate others. Thank you. I have had plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my feet, so I really think sore hocks must be terrible for bunnies.
Get better Misty!
Get better soon Misty!
hope she gets better
Poor Misty... Dear Abby, you inspired me to start my own channel! Thx for all the videos you've made💖💖💖
:C Poor lil misty, her little fluffy butt is getting older. C: I hope she’s alright, love ya Abby! :3
Poor Misty! Hope she gets better soon!
poor Misty! I hope she gets better! I give her all my best wishes and hopes for her to try to not have sore hocks!
This is good proof that it’s not just wire floor that can lead to sore hocks. Also, I know why she has sore hocks. When you had her flipped over, I could see she had Pinched hindquarters. (The feet are V shaped). This puts a lot of her weight on her back feet, and her hocks. It is kind of unavoidable with a rabbit that is over 5 pounds, and has pinched hindquarters. Her age has nothing to do with it.
God bless,
Hope she gets better.
Bonjour StormyRabbits.
Me: Bonjour! I S P E A K E N G L I S H!! I love french, put I can not say much!
I just said what she was talking about in the video, and used google translate because Jaaman06 said she could not understand the English, but she could see it was something about her feet, and that she could tell that she loves her bunny and takes good care of it. ....That’s the gist of it. 😊 I like French too but studies it decades ago, so I can;t read every word. But I see Jaaman06 comment here and on other rabbit sites and it is always a very nice comment...I do not understand each word, but enough to make sense of that.
And to Jaaman06, a translation of what I wrote: Je viens de dire de quoi elle parlait dans la vidéo, et j'ai utilisé Google Translate, parce que Jaaman06 a dit qu'elle ne comprenait pas l'anglais, mais elle pouvait voir que c'était quelque chose à propos de ses pieds et qu'elle pouvait dire qu'elle aimait son lapin et prenait soin de lui. ....
Aw, this will be very helpful if my bunny ever gets this. Hopefully, Misty feels better! She'll get well soon! 💕

aw i hope.she gets well soon
You can get Chlorhexidine at tractor supply
Poo baby! Hope her footies feel very soon!
When my bun developed arthritis along with it came sore hocks where there wasn’t previously. Has your vet tried an X-ray or anything? 🙂 Catching it early stops problems further down the line such as muscle wastage and weight loss (from the stiffness) which I find is hard to build up again in elderly buns. I used sudocrem which really worked wonders for reducing redness and dryness, it’s made for a range of babies skin conditions so is for super sensitive skin, antibacterial and soothing. There’s warnings on some pet soothing skin creams as many are tea tree which is bad 🙅♀️♥️
Poor Misty
Hope she gets better soon
Love you misty
Sorry for being SUPER late but I really hope Misty gets better ❤️❤️❤️
Big fan😁
My bunny, Bella, had an tooth abscess and had gotten surgery that was around 600 dollars. She also got a tooth pulled.... she is very happy and content and both of my parents love her so much but they don’t want to spend a fortune on her, which I sadly understand. There is another abscess on the same side of her chin forming behind the the old healing one. Because they are caused by dental issues she could possibly die. She is only a year old...I don’t know what I would do without her...any tips❤️hope misty feels better
Hi, was not active a lot, so busy with exams, srry. I love you and your rabbits ❤️🐰🐇
Oh and poor misty, good luck!
Edit:Omg, stormy rabbits loved my comment! 😱😆😆
Oh no I hope! It’ll be okay and I hope she gets better also love you and your channel! 💕
My bunny has sore hocks to. She had it when we got her. We are trying to treat her.
Is she fine now?? Can you tell me the treatment??
Farheen S yeah, fortunately she is doing alright, I usually just put fleece in her enclosure so that there’s something soft on her paws and they don’t hurt and we applied special ointment to help her paws heal.
@@lilsmartbunny9699 what ointment did u use
Hope Misty recovers from her sore hocks. I love your videos and follow 101 Rabbits too as well as Lennon the Bunny for awesome bunny videos. Who else do you follow? Thank you for the info.
This is so helpful 👍🐇❤
I've been a fan since 2015, and this is my first comment on of one your videos. hiiii
Hi
Aww I hope misty feels better
do you think you could make an update of your video to see if misty sore Hocks are getting better with the solution you put on her? :)
Make sure she goes to the vet for antibiotics immediately!! I wish I hadn't waited the three days to finish my finals week before going home to my rabbit savvy vet, but I was young, unfamiliar with the condition, afraid of failing my semester, and thought using the same remedies you are would be enough in the meantime. I was very wrong and it was a hard lesson to learn.
The infection if not promptly treated with antibiotics can spread to the surrounding tissues such as joints and muscles. It eventually led to complete atrophy and paralysis of my baby's hind legs because in those three days I waited for meds it was already too late. My vet and I struggled with treatment and therapy for a year to repair the damage before we made the difficult decision to take away his suffering.
I sincerely hope Misty gets better quickly! I'm sorry to frighten you with my experience but I don't want any rabbit owner to suffer what I went through and this information was not available to me on the internet, I had to learn from my vet. I was completely blindsided by the condition and consequences because none of my other rabbits ever had sore hocks before.
Hopefully she going to be okay 🛐🛐🛐🛐💟😇😇😇
I hope misty is k n better
Hey
Pore misty 😔💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
I remember my dad didn’t let me have a bunny until we gave away my first dog and I started to cry but now I realize that I shouldn’t until my dies because she might eat it.
Misty the baby
❤️❤️👍
My Annabel once had it much worse. She pulled out the hairs on the undersode of her feet until it bled. I have no idea why, but after a while she stopped doing it and then the hair grew back.
I can’t even find my bunny’s hocks😂 I think she has enough fur🥳 angora mis btw
Pros of owning a long hair xD
“ *im not a bunny expert* “
Bruh yes you are!!
sorry that some of the words are messed up. love you please like this comment
We miss abby😭
Nooooo
Can you make a video on sore hocks? My bunny recently got sore hocks and I’m loaded with questions.
Q: 1, are sore hocks permanent?
Q: 2, how long do sore hocks take to go away?
Q: 3, if not treated right do they become more serious?
🙏🏻🐇 Did her hocks heal?
My rabbit got sore hocks too! :( looking for ways to treat him
My rabbit has sore haws whenever I try picking her up but she won’t let me I don’t know what to do how I checked is quickly moving her fur while she was flopping
Tell her "get well soon from her fans!"
Aw, poor Misty!😔 I hope this cute little bunny feels better💗
P.s. I’m a small youtuber and if any one is willing to give some feedback it would mean a lot!❤️💗
Awwwe Feel beter Misty🐇 Abby do you have a Binky Bunny account???

Sorry but this is sad but my bunny past away today and I am not handling it very well. Do you have any tricks???
poor girl! hope she gets better soon:((
Why storm's one ear is dropping, is it ok for a young bunny to have that. Coz one of my bunnies ear became like that recently. He is 4 months old.
It's just the way his head was formed. It perfectly fine, but don't mistake it for head tilt!
How long did it take for her sore hocks to get better?
How old is storm
What breed is misty
Early squad
Hey I have a young rabbit he’s gotten slightly Aggressive and nothing has changed and he is neutered
Is he in a cage? And when would you say he's aggressive?
lgbtsica no he’s free roamed, and it’s just like will attack my feet if I walk near him, or if my feet or on the floor he’ll bite and circle me
He’s telling you he’s in charge, not you. Lol
@@haileycrews8028 do you have any other pets or are you around other animals? he could smell it on you if so, some bunnies are really territorial and don't like other animals in their space.
lgbtsica we have two dogs and a cat, one of which really doesn’t like him
My female rabbit hates being picked up to the point where i am afraid she will hurt herself by trying to jump out of my grasp. I have tried so many techniques to pick her up and they just aren't working. Her nails need to be cut and idek if she has sore hocks bc she won't let me check. She doesn't seem like she's in pain but rabbits are good at hiding something like that. Any tips?
I have this problem with one of our bunnies. My best result has been to wrap her in a towel first. If you get her wrapped firmly, but not tightly she will feel a bit more secure. Our vet holds her to check her with her back against his chest. I so wish I could manage to do it as well as he does. I hate to stress her. Do you give her a special treat after picking her up? Some people have said that helps bunnies to learn that something good happens when being picked up. Hope you get good tips from some other people here.
@@cindychapman5900 yeah i do. I also try to bribe her with them but she's too smart haha. She never takes them because she always gets stressed for a while after...idk what happened she was never as bad but then we got her spaid and idk...i don't blame her for being scared, i just don't know what to do.
@@cindychapman5900 but thank you
I wonder if she or terribly stressed while at the spaying. How long ago was the spay? After we take our Bonnie to the vet, she avoids me for a few days, and it is kind of back to square one, whispering to her, waiting till she comes to me, rather than my reaching to pet her first, not wearing shoes because almost any noise scares her. Yes, they are very smart....”I am not taking that treat if you want to pick me up!” I just keep working with Bonnie and hope with time, she will learn to feel more safe. I think lie people, some are more easy to stress and are slower to recover from it. 😥
@@cindychapman5900 yeah the spay was almost a year ago now, like the end of February last year...i try to but I'm also a college student and i live on campus and my mom and sister take care of her for me. Maybe that has something to do with it. I'm not sure. She doesn't even like to come out for playtime anymore. But she loves kisses and cuddles and being pet for hours haha, i can touch her but i can't pick her up.
I WONDER WHY SHE FKN HAS SORE HACKS. U TOLD YOU THAT FLOOR IS TERRIBLE FOR THEM
