I’m thinking about getting a rabbit but I’m doing some research and learning a lot about them so I can convince my mom lmfao. I love your videos because they’re super short and straight to the point! Very well done :)
hi, i am very experienced with bunnies, it is perfectly normal to freek out, if you could wipe their feet off with a wet rag or wet paper towl that will help. And is your rabbit on a wire bottom cage, because if they are that may cause some ploblems with their feet, if you need anything just reply to this comment.
My bunnies have a hutch that’s two stories! The bottom is wooden! They have the two stories and then we built an ‘extension to the side to make it even bigger! (It’s pretty big now lol) aaand, one of the bottom doors is open most days and they get free range of the garden! They love it and I love that they can explore (our garden is safe and closed off from any escape routes btw)
cool. I want to get or make my best friend Batman one. She (yes she) loves to be outside and inside so she can have a upstairs and downstairs of her own😊🐰
Oh my gosh thank you so much for making this video, I have been searching and searching for advice on rabbit cages to upgrade my rabbits cage and everyone says that hutches are terrible and too small but I’m so happy that you have a good recommendations because I needed this!
I have a HUGE walk-in closet, which is where I would put the cage, but my Mom's problem with it is that it 'smells bad', which I can handle and clean up.
LittleMissGecko 4 If you keep their cage clean they are very clean animals so they should be mainly odourless. If you can allow your bunny to free range around your closet
I have a wire cage hutch but a third of the cage is wood on the bottom and its 3 feet high of the ground so it's safe but the good thing is is that I have a huge cage on dirt that they can run around in and they get a few hours a day so not long enough that they can dig out (they have escaped a few times tho when I left them in in for too long) so its great because it doesn't hurt their feet so much
Nelli Aurora my rabbits live outside in a 15 square meters enclosure. they cant get out because the wire is also in the ground. But they still can dig when they want.
i reallly want a bunny and i already have a big dog pin that my dogs don’t use anymore and i’ve done a lot of research... i’m going to ask my mom today🤞🤞
@@---ox3or I really want a rabbit like you and have a dog cage I would use for it and I've alot of research like you but my mom is very strict :( btw good luck on convincing her and if you got a rabbit already congrats!
I spent over 1000 building a cage with my dad and it’s big we have 4 rabbits living in it and I take them to my friends backyard for at least 2 hours a day and we let them run around in his grass backyard and we built a little den for them in there
What if you have a dog kennel-like cage? There is abt enough floor space for him to lay on because his litter box is kind of big. I let him go anywhere in my room in the morning for abt an hour and when I get home from school, I pretty much let him stay out until 12:40 p.m. I also do not know what type of toys are bunnies favorites but. You or someone could tel me that would be great :)
That’s so sad! If they have to be inside I think, my opinion, they should be free roam, if you have a room you don’t use, because Flemish Giants are so big
My youngest dog is only 9 months so we still have his crate and it is wire but there’s a little protected that goes over the bottom so it wouldn’t hurt his paws. Could I use that for a rabbit? EDIT: Could I keep the rabbit in its cage at night and stuff and then for a few hours in the day let it roam around my room because I don’t want my dogs to hurt it.
hi stormy rabbits! I have a lionhead rabbit his name is Spencer and he is the cutest thing ever! I have an old dog pen that is in my garage and it's actually quite big! it's just I don't know where to fit it in my house? Do you think a garage would be too cold to keep a rabbit in plus we will provide many fleece blankets and a lot of hay so he will probably stay warm. our car is not in the garage. we have plenty space in the garage and will provide him much playtime.
should i use bedding or fleeces?:( i thought it would be better with flecees, so i took off all the bedding, but i have a baby rabbit so he doesn't use the litter box yet and the fleece gets dirty so fast. what do i do? :(
My brother lives in a rabbit hutch outside and I want to have her live inside with me but my parents are afraid that it's going to start snowing and I just don't know what to do
im sorry but i laughed for 5 minutes at the 'My brother lives in a rabbit hutch outside' 😂😂 but yeah you should move your rabbit inside maybe in your room or move her to a shed .
See I have a mini Rex rabbit and she is perfectly fine outside all year. I call her a all year outside rabbit. It's better to have your rabbit on a year routine like bring them in in winter and out in spring. That's what I do with my other rabbit. But in your case you can get a heating pad or something like that. Just advise. Since I am a kid I would probably want to sneak her inside🐰 but my rabbit that's inside is in our basement where it's still warm. 😄
My rabbits have been out all their lives during all seasons unless it’s freezing, I feed extra kale and carrots to keep their energy up and fill their cages with plenty of straw and hay, they’re 5 and 7 and I’ve never had a problem over the winter with them
I remember there were 2 rabbits in 2 small cages in a very small park near my house. No one knew who owned this rabbits and no one fed them. The cages were very small, the rabbits couldn't even move in them. I wanted to keep them but my parents didn't allow me to. I tried my best to give them grass every day buy they died one day :(
@@Starbean123 bunnies are one of the most commonly abandoned animals, I've wanted one for 4 years and now I'm finally getting one and people like this make me sick. It's not that hard to put them in a shelter😔
I have a big cage and a hutch and my bunnies are extremely safe as there is and pen out side so we decide when they come out. during the day we open the door for them to come out and the can come in and out when ever they want but at night we close the door as foxes pass our garden all the time ( also the hutch is only when its summer and on concreet) we bring our bunnies in the cage (inside the house) when its winter but during the summer we leave them in the hutch ;)
I might be getting a bunny and if I do then I’ll use my dogs old cafe that we used when we were crate training him and we got like a medium or large crate so I think I’ll use that and my parents most likely won’t get me those huge bunnies but most likely one of the dwarf bunnies so the cage will be big enough
Oh and also when it gets warmer out I’ll put a hutch on our one side of our porch because it’s pretty cold out and I’ll put some wires around it so when I put it in there before I go to school or take my dog on a walk the bunny can walk around it and I’ll make sure that my cat doesn’t get the bunny because she likes to hunt but the pet I’m least worried about is my dog because he loves a bunch of other animals and he is so gentle that when my cat brought in a baby bunny he would always cuddle with it and it was super adorable
A cage has to be at least 4 square meters!!! You need 2 sqm (I don't know how much that is in foot but you can find that on the Internet) per rabbit and because rabbits aren't loners you need to have two. (sorry for horrible grammar xD)
Guinea Pig Adventures No they can't live alone a human can't replace an other rabbit because a human can not be with the rabbit 24/7. You don't know if these rabbits are happy or do you speak rabbit language?! I don't want to be mean but that's how it is.
+Ninis, Meeris & co Calm down. And no, i dont speak rabbit language, but many rabbits can live on their own and be happy. My mom had a rabbit that lived alone, many of my friends had and have rabbits that dont have another rabbit, and they are happy and perfectly healthy. :)
Owning a hutch outside is really nice. You may need to have a cooling system for the summer. (if it gets really hot) For cold winters, you may need to have an indoor cage that you can set up easily when it starts to get cold.
Pet store cage?! Hutch?! Noooo! Please dont get these for your rabbit! They are WAY to small! I recommend x pens which are a dog play pen. Rabbits need a lot of space! Hutches and Pet store cages are not gonna cut it
My rabbit lives in a large wire bottom cage because he has problems so our vet told us to use one BUT he also has part of his cage covered in fleece AND he has a HUGE run so that he always has tons of space where he can get off of the wire
I live to the serv the queen :,> he has his own large room with a fancy style but I have to share a room with my older sister but atleast it’s fancy as well :D
My bunny was given to me in one of those small store-bought pet cages, but I just bought a 2 x 4 cage and I leave the gate open so he can come out whenever he wants
my friends family owns two show rabbits. they are kept wire bottom in cages that are probably only 2x2 feet with only a water bottle and a food dish. in the summer they have an outside hutch that is about 2x5 ft and only one story. the rabbits each get one half. idk if they still have them. its been a while. they took the rabbits out occasionally and they were very tame but its still sad. :(
I have an open bottom cage on the grass but I only let my rabbit in the bottom when I am outside constantly so I can keep an eye on him because we have coyotes around our house
My rabbit used to live in my room in a big pet shop cage with a play pen attached but he got to noisy so now he lives in just the 43 inch play pen in my hall is that ok❤️
I have a little x pen for when my bunny was being litter trained but now she is almost all the way littertrained so shw gets to roam around my room and then eventually she will run around my house
We have a bunny room, we have two rabbits and two guinea pigs, they get along really well but to keep every bunny safe we need to keep it very clean and sanitary which is a full time job. Unfortunately we have yet to spade or neuter our rabbits and as they are opposite genders they switch running around every couple of hours. The guinea pigs are out 24/7 unless we vacuum then they have a small store bought cage for temporary usage. 😁 thanks for reading this !
My rabbit is now 4 years old, and has been in the same large cage sge has always been in. it is not a wire bottom, and she does not seem to have any problems with it. But i have noticed she has sore hock on only one of her back feet. I am not sure why and I am not sure what to do about it. So I have been letting her run around on a blanket in my room until i fix the problem.
my bunnies have an indoor cage(for the winter) it has layers and ramps for them to climb up and down. over the summer, my mom and I built a 10 square foot hutch(for spring and summer). they love it!!
I have a grey and white mini dutch and he lives in a I story hutch outside and he is happy he gets lots of treats and I bring him inside everyday for awhile he also loves to cuddle
my bunnys hutch it’s outside and open bottom but we have a large sheet of chicken wire that we put on the bottom and it goes inside and outside the cage, so he can’t dig out and nothing can dig in.
So i have a large wire bottom cage but 1/3 of the area is covered with hay and then the other 1/3 is covered with a soft bed we ordered online and a cloth and then above that is a strong plastic level
I have my rabbit outside under my cubby house with wires around it perfectly safe she's out on Monday Tuesday Thursday and Fridays. The only problem would be is that she is on rocks but there is not enough rock to dig in or out
I need help. I'm moving my bunny into a 4 ft by 8 ft pen in my basement. For playtime, can I just sit in the cage with him and pet him? The basement outside of his pen will be crowded with stuff from moving. In a few months he's gonna be upgraded, but is this okay for now?

StormyRabbits I'm buying a hutch for my piggies
StormyRabbits Abby could you please please please help me😞 I Ned your help my rabbits feet are so dirty help me! please!!!!
hi, i am very experienced with bunnies, it is perfectly normal to freek out, if you could wipe their feet off with a wet rag or wet paper towl that will help. And is your rabbit on a wire bottom cage, because if they are that may cause some ploblems with their feet, if you need anything just reply to this comment.
Can I use a hutch inside because we have orange pebbles and we *MIGHT* get a white and black dwarf rabbit *It's super cute* for christmas
AestheticxMsp Hi i play msp too and yes it's a good idea 😊
sad phan you best take care of it then and not give it up -_-
My bunnies have a hutch that’s two stories!
I have a rabbit hutch with a really big run attached
:D
We built both ourselves😊😊
cool. I want to get or make my best friend Batman one. She (yes she) loves to be outside and inside so she can have a upstairs and downstairs of her own😊🐰
I'm getting a bunny tomorrow and you're video is very helpful. 😀
Oh my gosh thank you so much for making this video, I have been searching and searching for advice on rabbit cages to upgrade my rabbits cage and everyone says that hutches are terrible and too small but I’m so happy that you have a good recommendations because I needed this!
Thanks so much for making this video!! Our 3 female rabbits have a hutch connected to a 10 by 8 run!
You can litter train your rabbit so it wont smell bad. Just clean the litterbox every 2 to 3 days :) Good Luck!
They don’t smell as long as you keep the cage clean and get them neutered or spayed
I clean their cages 3-4 times a day but it still smell :(
I have my rabbits cage in my closet lol (the closet obviously has no door, and I never lock her in it. She's out in my room 24/7)
I have a wire cage hutch but a third of the cage is wood on the bottom and its 3 feet high of the ground so it's safe but the good thing is is that I have a huge cage on dirt that they can run around in and they get a few hours a day so not long enough that they can dig out (they have escaped a few times tho when I left them in in for too long) so its great because it doesn't hurt their feet so much
And you cant put a rabbit out to a open bottom cage cuz it can also dig it self out😰
Nelli Aurora did it happened to u?
Yao Yi No, but it happened to my friend
Nelli Aurora my rabbits live outside in a 15 square meters enclosure. they cant get out because the wire is also in the ground. But they still can dig when they want.
Zoe Anime 👏
Nelli Aurora true, but it's fine if you have the open bottom cage on a hard surface like wood or something. that's what I want to do with mine.
When I moved into my new house they had a treehouse so we turned that into the rabbit room, it's very fun but sucks being separated from the bunny
I want a bunny that’s why I am watching this video to make my bunny happy
This was really helpful thank you I’m thinking about getting a bunny soon😇
lion King 19 please do research I recommend Lennon the bunny for research
i reallly want a bunny and i already have a big dog pin that my dogs don’t use anymore and i’ve done a lot of research... i’m going to ask my mom today🤞🤞
Good luck
Jennifer Stevenson she said no but i’m just going to be persistent and see how it goes
Just move out and buy one,my tactic
@@---ox3or save up and ask your mum if for Christmas, that your present is being allowed to buy a rabitt urself. Should work!!
@@---ox3or I really want a rabbit like you and have a dog cage I would use for it and I've alot of research like you but my mom is very strict :( btw good luck on convincing her and if you got a rabbit already congrats!
I spent over 1000 building a cage with my dad and it’s big we have 4 rabbits living in it and I take them to my friends backyard for at least 2 hours a day and we let them run around in his grass backyard and we built a little den for them in there
I have a rabbit room :)
Radishes And Rabbits lucky rabbits
Radishes And Rabbits your rabbits are lucky to have you
I made my rabbits cage out of a old kitchen cabinet in my neighbors kitchen renovation. and put fencing on and she has a whole shed
as long as the rabbit is happy i think any cage is fine!
Yeah my rabbit is in a small cage but he likes it he doesn't want to move out of it!
just saying rabbits sould'nt be keeped outside because of weather ext.
yes I do agree but a shed or a part time cage outside is ok to use for some provential areas
It depends on the area. In England, its their natural habitat so they're fine outside and it can be really good for them because it's natural
No that isnt true! it depends where you live and how good your shed is
They actually do better outside and they do better in the cold believe it or not
I live in the UK and my bunny has a large hutch outside with a waterproof cover with lots of food in so yeah, untrue
My dad built my rabbits cage but hes free roam 😄😄 because he has a room dedicated too him ❤❤
That is a great choice!
Good!
Same but by free roaming mine brat became so naughty he started biting things😂😂😂😂
What a great dad !!
Its so sad that my aunt had a Tiny case for her Flemish Giant it was so small!
Loïs Dolan your pf picture 😍
That’s so sad! If they have to be inside I think, my opinion, they should be free roam, if you have a room you don’t use, because Flemish Giants are so big
"it was"
If you look at zoellas guinea pig cage would that be big enough for a rabbit?
Leah Jones Yes! Its called ferplast wooden multi storey cottage, its meant for guinea pigs and bunnies!
Leah Jones no rabbit should live in a cage
My Two Guinea Pigs Oh shut up
Jamela Moore whats ur problem
Jamela Moore whats ur problem
My youngest dog is only 9 months so we still have his crate and it is wire but there’s a little protected that goes over the bottom so it wouldn’t hurt his paws. Could I use that for a rabbit?
EDIT: Could I keep the rabbit in its cage at night and stuff and then for a few hours in the day let it roam around my room because I don’t want my dogs to hurt it.
Yes that's fine put some fleece on the floor or something soft rabbit need a minimum of 3 hours out of the cage
rabbit care thanks! I am going to have the rabbit out all day and in the crate at night, I’m getting one this weekend from an animal shelter!
@@elizabethg1604 that so good to hear good luck with your bun
hi stormy rabbits!
Anisa it might get two hot in the summer in the garage
should i use bedding or fleeces?:( i thought it would be better with flecees, so i took off all the bedding, but i have a baby rabbit so he doesn't use the litter box yet and the fleece gets dirty so fast.
what do i do? :(
Maybe use bedding till he's liter trained? or just no fleeces.
Caro Loyola I use bedding for my rabbit
StormyRabbits I put linoleum on top of some wood is that good
I don't recommend fleece for rabbits because they would probably tear it up.
I use fleece in my rabbits hutch she prefers it over her bedding, I also prefer it it isn’t messy and doesn’t spread all over
I love how this vidoe is straight to the point.
My bunny is a free range rabbit in my bedroom and he has a dog crate for his own area
My rabbits cage is 8 square feet, but has 2 levels? Is this okay until I get a bigger cage? X
Aimee Jackson you dont need a bigger cage. let the rabbit in your room free. they can use a toilette just like cats
Bunny Palace Same
I only put my bunny is the first bad cage only every night. Is that ok?
My brother lives in a rabbit hutch outside and I want to have her live inside with me but my parents are afraid that it's going to start snowing and I just don't know what to do
Victoria Sanchez, first of all why does your brother live in a rabbit hutch
Haylea Mason lol it was an auto mistake
im sorry but i laughed for 5 minutes at the 'My brother lives in a rabbit hutch outside' 😂😂 but yeah you should move your rabbit inside maybe in your room or move her to a shed .
I tried my best to give them grass every day buy they died one day :(
why would you not just give them to a shelter or gave them away to someone who could keep them????!!!
@@Starbean123 it could be considered stealing if you don't know who owns them
@@wouldntyouliketoknow644 I meant the people who left them
@@Starbean123 bunnies are one of the most commonly abandoned animals, I've wanted one for 4 years and now I'm finally getting one and people like this make me sick. It's not that hard to put them in a shelter😔
@@Starbean123 I thought you were talking about the person who commented this btw but I think you're completely right
I have a big cage and a hutch and my bunnies are extremely safe as there is and pen out side so we decide when they come out. during the day we open the door for them to come out and the can come in and out when ever they want but at night we close the door as foxes pass our garden all the time ( also the hutch is only when its summer and on concreet) we bring our bunnies in the cage (inside the house) when its winter but during the summer we leave them in the hutch ;)
0:56 That Rabbit in the Bin Looks angry
I have a 3 by 2 rabbit cage! Is it good?
I let him free range at least 20 hours a day, so it's good.
Rhyanna Cochrane thats awesome your bunny is in good hands 😊
Animal shelters in the UK generally ask for a 6'x2' hutch permanently attached to a 4'x8' run, or preferably, a 6'x8' run.
Oh and also when it gets warmer out I’ll put a hutch on our one side of our porch because it’s pretty cold out and I’ll put some wires around it so when I put it in there before I go to school or take my dog on a walk the bunny can walk around it and I’ll make sure that my cat doesn’t get the bunny because she likes to hunt but the pet I’m least worried about is my dog because he loves a bunch of other animals and he is so gentle that when my cat brought in a baby bunny he would always cuddle with it and it was super adorable
as long as you let him have time outside the cage too
A cage has to be at least 4 square meters!!! You need 2 sqm (I don't know how much that is in foot but you can find that on the Internet) per rabbit and because rabbits aren't loners you need to have two. (sorry for horrible grammar xD)
Rabbits can be alone, as long as you give alot of cuddles :) Many of my friends only have one rabbit, and they are super happy.
but would u recognize a depression?
MegaName13 if your rabbits gets depressed, then you should get it another friend or
let it be around you most of the time.
Owning a hutch outside is really nice. You may need to have a cooling system for the summer. (if it gets really hot) For cold winters, you may need to have an indoor cage that you can set up easily when it starts to get cold.
Omg she showed both of my bunny cages lol
Same
Sarcastic Emma
I'm guessing it is a good cafe

Pet store cage?! Hutch?! Noooo! Please dont get these for your rabbit! They are WAY to small! I recommend x pens which are a dog play pen. Rabbits need a lot of space! Hutches and Pet store cages are not gonna cut it
My rabbit lives in a large wire bottom cage because he has problems so our vet told us to use one BUT he also has part of his cage covered in fleece AND he has a HUGE run so that he always has tons of space where he can get off of the wire
I have a giant cage for him so he good I don’t know why I’m watching this
I live to the serv the queen :,> he has his own large room with a fancy style but I have to share a room with my older sister but atleast it’s fancy as well :D
If u want an open bottom hutch, add stones around the hutch so the weasel cant get in
My xpen costs $35

I don’t care what you RECOMMEND if you really no that much about rabbits you would know that rabbits ain’t supposed to live in cages
I have a small cage outside for mine and he is like always in it and my family will not let me expand or put him inside what should I do 😭😭😭
My bunny was given to me in one of those small store-bought pet cages, but I just bought a 2 x 4 cage and I leave the gate open so he can come out whenever he wants
my friends family owns two show rabbits. they are kept wire bottom in cages that are probably only 2x2 feet with only a water bottle and a food dish. in the summer they have an outside hutch that is about 2x5 ft and only one story. the rabbits each get one half. idk if they still have them. its been a while. they took the rabbits out occasionally and they were very tame but its still sad. :(
"Think about all the predators"
Me: *looks suspiciously at my brother*
I am getting a dwarf bunny in 4 days. It’s 2 months and it’s name is Loonie, can somebody please recommend me a cage that I can buy?
my bunnies have an indoor cage(for the winter) it has layers and ramps for them to climb up and down. over the summer, my mom and I built a 10 square foot hutch(for spring and summer). they love it!!
I enjoyed it. we use hutches and the rabbits seem happy. Not the best in hot and cold temperatures. We have to transport indoors.
I have a grey and white mini dutch and he lives in a I story hutch outside and he is happy he gets lots of treats and I bring him inside everyday for awhile he also loves to cuddle
My Rabbit Roams Around The House And He Loves It!! He goes to the litter box and has toys.
my bunnys hutch it’s outside and open bottom but we have a large sheet of chicken wire that we put on the bottom and it goes inside and outside the cage, so he can’t dig out and nothing can dig in.
i have my bunny in a very big bin cage.Is that bad for my bunny; PLZ anser somebody
How big is it???
So i have a large wire bottom cage but 1/3 of the area is covered with hay and then the other 1/3 is covered with a soft bed we ordered online and a cloth and then above that is a strong plastic level
My rabbit cant run up the ramp. Would it eventually learn how to it?
I have my rabbit outside under my cubby house with wires around it perfectly safe she's out on Monday Tuesday Thursday and Fridays. The only problem would be is that she is on rocks but there is not enough rock to dig in or out
my rabbit sleeps in a small cage at night time and a big cage during the day is that fine?
I need help. I'm moving my bunny into a 4 ft by 8 ft pen in my basement. For playtime, can I just sit in the cage with him and pet him? The basement outside of his pen will be crowded with stuff from moving. In a few months he's gonna be upgraded, but is this okay for now?
Of course that's fine! :)
StormyRabbits Thank you so much. I'm building his cage right now
