We have eaten there a few times and really like it. I love their turkey or chicken corn soup. I often wondered what the hidden ingredient is that sets it apart. I ordered a cookbook from one of the PA Dutch restaurants to find the recipe. The hidden ingredient is a pinch of saffron. The two desserts that John got are my favorites. I love eclair cake and haven't had it in years. Shoo fly pie is one of favorites too but can only get it in the Lancaster area. Thanks for the fond memories of eating there!

I didn't think 'Shoo-Fly Pie' was a real pie until I saw this video! There is a children's book called, 'McBroom's Ghost' that I read as a child, and it mentions this very item. It was a great book to read.

I live in Lititz , Pa. and I have eaten there many times .Very good food and very good staff . Price very reasonable as well . Had I known you were here I could have met you and gave you a good tour .

Never at in Lititz but have eaten at Hershey Farms. Took my granddaughter to Sight and Sound and then Hershey Farms. Very good food.

This is the way my grandma made chicken pot pie. There’s like flat dumplings in it. No crust. Can be made with beef or ham.

Looked like a great buffet at a reasonable price. Would love to see that seafood buffet. Looked like the buffet was well stocked. We would definitely be interested in trying this restaurant when in the area. Another great video!

I love Lititz, such a quaint little town! I haven’t been in years. If you get a chance, stop in the Wilber Candy Store, they used to have the factory there too, but shut it down. Great chocolates, better than Hershey! That is chicken pot pie in this area of PA. Some call it slippery pot pie. We love it. It is supposed to be completely different than the pot pies with a crust. Also, that filling looked exactly like the filling I make at home. I bet it was potato filling. I really enjoyed this!
We were going to do the chocolate store but it was closed when we left the restaurant. Will do it sometime it's on our list. Thanks for the info on chicken pot pie and filling. 😎😎
If you come to Lititz and are hungry for Zooks Chicken pie or beef pie Sensenig poultry has a nice store and carry Zooks and other awesome foods to heat and serve. Also something fun, Outback Toy Store, 101 W Lincoln Ave in Lititz, fun farm toy store. You may also find an Elvis "matchbox" car. I just checked and we currently dont have any Elvis greenlight cars. Maybe down the road they were cool.

Another great video! I don't know why I missed this one before when it first came out. I love to see all of your videos. The place itself looks very downhome and sweet, and the man you spoke with was very kind and welcoming! Such a beautiful area, full of great places to eat, it seems. To be honest though, I would have picked their regular menu. There is nothing I love more than a buffet, and normally that is not a bad price for a buffet, but I didn't feel like that was much of a buffet at all - very small and limited options. The regular menu was very large with a lot of variety and had some yummy sounding items (GHOULASH!!!!!!!!), and I would have a hard time choosing just one thing on it. LOL
He was a very nice man. They did have some nice things on the menu if you didn't want the buffet. Thanks for watching.😎😎

Yes, in Lancaster County, the chicken pot pie is more like chicken and noodles. Chicken pies are the flaky ones.

Cool, another restaurant I haven't been to yet. That was a fair price for sure. I don't get to Litiz/Manheim much, which is a shame because it's lovely up there. I want to go to the Wolf Sanctuary sometime.

If yall are still in lititz go by some buildings /business named rock lititz. My husband detailed all the blueprints for those buildings for rock stars and bands to trial their concert lights and sound before going on tour. We took a trip a few years ago from GA to go see them. It was so loud it was agitating the amish cows, and they weren't producing much milk. We had no idea they built them right next to a farm. They were made to go back in and heavily insulate them. Dont know if you can go in the taller buildings but the one story buildings should be open to the public.

Just finished breakfast so not very hungry but that ham caught my eye. I've had homemade shoo fly pie from a friend and that filling looked lighter than in most recipes so maybe that's why Bobbie liked this one. I'd qualify for the senior discount and noticed there were quite a few of my generation there, we know a good deal. All around great video. On to the next location.

I am just loving your reviews of all these neat restaurants. You two are the best and coolest couple and you fit so well together. How far is Amish country from your home? By the way, Bobbie you decorated your kitchen in such a lovely way. I loved everything about it. It looks so cozy. John must be so proud of you. In the restaurant, at the beginning, that artwork of a bronze tree on the wall is just gorgeous. Glad you liked the food so much. Bobbie made that picture off of her Facebook app. This area is 4 hours from our house. Bobbie loves decorating our house and does a great job. For me and veggies I don't eat much corn and green beans are my favorite. Hate Brocoli, Carrots Cauliflower etc etc LOL. We really appreciate you watching and leaving this nice comment. 😎😎

You guys always eating whoopie pies, I could not resist it any longer, so I found some recipes from the Amish people and I made some on Saturday, it was absolutely divine, I filled mine with whipped cream with chopped maraschino cherries and the real thing man, a teaspoon of Kirsch straight from The Black Forest!!!! ( I don't drink alcohol, only use in food) .Will try the peanut butter frosting next time. I could not find any marshmallow fluff (as usual). This all - is thanks to you guys. I just adore you!!!!!! I LOVE sweet things better than food🤦♀️😉 I am so upset, forgot to take a photograph of it, but next time.

I was going to to tell you should go there to Lititz family cupboard for their chicken corn soup. I tell everybody that I go there just for the soup. Today my group of elderly ladies went to The Smokehouse. It was great! Will go back again. Used the coupon, everyone got $2.00 off. The coupon can be used again till the end of the year.The chocolate cake is good at Lititz. I am just the town over from Lititz, Ephrata where Green Dragon Market is. I live 1 mile from Green Dragon. I’m going to Lititz Family Cupboard this Tuesday. Thank you for your video.

There are 2 kinds of chicken pot pie, in the crust has peas, carrots etc. No crust is just noodles, chicken and potatoes.

What Pennsylvania Dutch call Potpie is what you were eating. The flakey crust dish you were referring too, we call meat pie!! The difference between the two is a point of contention between me and my husband!! 😂

They go in there to practice before shows ! That is called "the rock " ! Taylor Swift , a. Grande , def lepard etc... Im always looking have not seen any in there yet ! Their name is Lusatian, I believe, and they are known for their Pennsilfaanisch-Deitsches Essen, but they have a tree covered in shamrock designs. Very interesting!
It looks to me as though they are mixing fresh with canned items. Where is the cabbage? No sauerkraut? When I visited Pennsylvania, some 60 years, cabbage in one form or another and potatoes, and fresh-baked bread were ubiquitous. Maybe folks don't like that as much anymore.

Everything looked good, so much food. We always had peanut butter sandwiches with chili and chocolate cake with peanut butter iceing. The prices were really reasonable especially for sea food. Think I would pass on the 🐖 belly 🤔

That looks wonderful and of course you're just down the street from my place 15 Vera cruz Road reinholds Pennsylvania going down the hill off to the right is my place where I was keep going around that sharp curve go down to the railroad tracks where reinholds Bar and Grill awesome place they had some of the best pizzas and calzones everything was good but of course that was in my day hopefully it's still there I hope you go check it out right off of 222 896 somewhere around there I can't remember doing okay all is well so far so good trying to put my weight on God bless peace be with you much love and respect TCB⚡️⚡️⚡️😇

The nastiest bland . Lukewarm food I have ever eaten. 18 for the buffet even a 4 year old. Everyone in our church group left feeling disappointed. Meat loaf was like the beef recipe dog food I give my dog. Couldn't tell the difference. Place should be shut down. Date visited 4/13/24
