I follow you on your vegetable growing channel and now I find you on a C70 video. I have both interests too, subscribed. The C70 is great! I use L EF lenses with the Canon speed booster. I noticed that the focus motor noise reduced with the focal reducer firmware update on my L primes.
In fact instead of 1 you have 2 lenses with the .71 adaptor - EF 16-35 for fullframe look and 24-52 if you remove the adaptor. Flexibility:) And it's much cheaper - the price of EF+Adaptor is far less then RF glass:) that's why i got C70 and swithed back to canon form sony:))) great video by the way:)
Yeah, the speed booster gives you a lot of flexibility for sure. You would still need the EF-RF basic adapter, but that's only $100. Sticking to EF lenses on the C70 makes a lot of sense in some cases.
I agree. The EF lens held its own. The flaring was a bit more. I have all RF lenses. Sold all my EF. I wish I kept my 85mm. But I committed to pick one and run.
@@Josh_Sattin Ive had mine for about 3weeks now, but for some reason im having a struggle between under exposure and over.. It's tricky because in some cases it can look good in both. so like what are you getting your best grades from.. over or under? and also maybe some of the work flow in post as far as codecs and etc , id love to have some perspective on that
I've been rocking the old school mk 1 24-105 with the speed booster for a variety of gimbal work jobs lately and it's been awesome on the c70... If I could find a mk 2 cheap I'd pick that up too for the quieter auto focus and better bokeh when wide open for interviews - but a 24-105 2.8 for under $600 with lens stabilization is pretty amazing!
I have been messing with this. I think its ok. Do you guys have tips on making it better??? I increased the speed of the focus and use manual focus assist
Hey Josh, just today I ordered my new C70 and it should arrive to me in a few days. You've really influenced my decision on this camera so thanks a million. I've got the original Canon 24-105 with the Speed booster. Will AF work at all or is it just IS with that lens? Thanks again
good video. I switched to Sigma lenses. Far better than Canon across the board. I do use the speed booster. The focal length is what the lens provides but taking a 24-105 4.0 to a 2.8 with the speed booster is crazy. I have 1.8 ap lens 28mm, imagine the extra stop of light on that!
To me the EF glass is superior just because of the mount versatility alone. Can use those lenses on RED, Blackmagic, Canon, ZCAM, and even Sony. RF is just....Canon and Komodo/Raptor.
Hi man. First of all, I want to thank you for your videos, that's how I made the decision to buy the C70. I use a full frame camera and the combination of C70 and RF lenses confuses me. I am aware that I have to multiply the focal length by 1.6 and do I have to multiply the F stop by 1.6 also? For example f2.8 x 1.6 be approximately like 4.5?
You are very welcome. The C70 is an awesome camera. Check out this video for more information about crop sensors and how they work: ruclips.net/video/Qcdtq3N6yQI/видео.html
Hi, Thanks for this video. Does the C70 correct the RF lens distortion when recording 4K 422 10 bits videos internally (as what we can get when taking pictures on a mirrorless camera in JPG)?
Hey Josh, your 2.8 on a C70 with the speed booster should give you a F2 no an F4, correct? You gain a stop not lose a stop of light with the speed booster, correct?
Josh is the absolute king of helpful videography content. Thank you for your ongoing support with my perpetual camera crisis 😁
You are too kind! Thanks for watching!
Yes he is

My decision was super easy. 16-35F4 speed-booster! boom i have an image stabilized 2.8 lens at a great price.

More like 3 lenses, since you still have S16 crop option on the C70 :)
I wish they made a full frame version of the C70. I found most RF L glass to be too narrow for crop sensors
Your wish was granted canon C80
@@aNumberOne I will only give up my DGO sensor for an Arri 🥲
Great comparison, thanks!
Loved you in "Blue Ruin", btw.
What a call out lol
i'm getting my C70 in 2 days!!! too excited I hope I can sleep! Great vid man!
RF all the way for me..
Love the C70 and the RF lenses.

I agree, the EF lens did super well. Makes the decision a bit more difficult. You could go either way!

@@GDoggProductions What's up bud? Yup. If it has to with the C70... I wanna know.
nice bro.. bring on some more c70 content. from harlem with love🤙🏾
Thanks! Glad you are digging the C70 content. I love the camera so far. Anything in particular you are interested in seeing?

Hey Josh! Fan of the RF 24-70? Thinking about one for my Komodo
16-35MM is f4 with speed booster might be a good comparison.

Yeah some of the older EF lenses are still awesome. I am going to do some more experimenting with the speed booster and EF lenses.

How is AF speed with the 24-105?

I definitely agree with you in terms of versatility.
I have a set of Irix primes that go with my C100 Mark ii. If I get the C70, with they still fit and work on the C70?
Great information and very well presented! Thank You

@@Josh_Sattin Thank You.
I wasn't a fan of the RF 15-35. My photos always looked muddy for some reason, indoor and outdoor. I ended up selling it.
I know what you mean. It comes alive at F4 and upwards from my experience
Hi,
Thanks for this video.
Does the C70 correct the RF lens distortion when recording 4K 422 10 bits videos internally (as what we can get when taking pictures on a mirrorless camera in JPG)?
Nice Video !
Thank you!
EF for the tie? Wow.
Hey Josh, your 2.8 on a C70 with the speed booster should give you a F2 no an F4, correct? You gain a stop not lose a stop of light with the speed booster, correct?
F2.8 with the speedbooster will give you F2, which is one stop. F4 to F2 is two stops.
So if I’m using the RF 15-35 on the c70, what’s my crop going to be? I won’t get the full 15mm right?
No, it’s a Super 35 crop. I believe it’s 1.46x in DCI and 1.53x in UHD.
About 22-52
@@Josh_Sattin does the Aperture get cropped as well? If it's 2.8f will it become something like a 3.5f?
@@EverableMedSpaMarketing Sort of... But you can assume multiplying the F stop by the crop factor for the new aperture. 2.8 will become roughly 4.2.
@@Josh_Sattin damn that really sucks
you didnt mention which adapter you used with EF lenses above..is it normal ef to rf adapter? or .71x speedbooster?
