- Welcome to my dream fight animation! This has been in production for over two years and unfortunately has fallen into somewhat of a development hell. It is unclear what kind of timeline we are looking at to finish this thing, but it could likely be years. Given that I need to end the channel soon, I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you what we have been cooking so that you are guaranteed to see at least part of it.
This animation is incredibly meaningful to me, and I think the team's passion comes through in every frame. I especially want to thank our animator, Riley, as none of this would have been possible without their passion and talent.

I love how this is spirit realm Iroh, meaning that it makes perfect sense for him to just accept that he is having tea and a sparring match with an anthropomorphic talking turtle
Lol spiritual turtles are nothing new to the avatar universe I guess 🤣

I like the nice touch of Iroh starting with his earth kingdom robes when he is at peace/not taking the fight seriously, only to transition to his fire nation armor when he takes the fight seriously and he becomes the Dragon of the West one final time.

i liked how he fell into lava in his robes and launches himself out wearing his armour, a cool transformation!
I love how even after all that, Oogway decides to be a mischievous little shit and keep the teapot.

Have the fight start because of Oogway pulling a "You are free to eat." is genius. The spirit world shifting to match Iroh's emotions is also a nice touch that escalates the battle.

@@gonzaloaragonarro8014Oogway in the spirit world (where this fight takes place) seems pretty powerful and can blast apart ginormous rocks with his staff shield thing.
Iroh needed the comet to blast apart the walls of Ba Sing Se. In this fight I imagine he'd need the comet to provide the power boost needed to even match Oogway and also needs to not let Oogway just disable him with a nerve attack or otherwise beat him in close range.

Even if the animation isn't fully finished, it's really evident that the emotion and love for it is still there. Great job, Crossover Collosseum.

I like how it's not some violent senseless battle, but rather a friendly sparring match cause there's no way Iroh and Oogway would ever be hated enemies to each other

Wise, friendly old mentors who trained unlikely war heroes, and are renowned for being some of their land’s best warriors. Both lost someone close to them in their past, which motivated them to use their wisdom to help others. Both have connections to spirits, to the point where they ascended to their worlds’ Spirit Realm following their deaths, where they would guide lost souls back to the real world.
It's been a favorite of mine thematically for a while!

The ending was so wholesome. While it is unfinished, this was easily one of my favorites. Really sucks that we’re nearing the end. This has been an amazing journey. Thank you. ❤

Even if it is unfinished, this is an absolute standout. There is a clear love and passion for both characters put forth here and seeing them interact on such friendly terms is just so wholesome. All of Oogway's little nuggets of wisdom mid-fight are spot on for him too, A+ work here

The callbacks felt natural, the dynamic is a nice change of pace, the choreography is imaginative, I can tell every bit of this is oozing with passion project vibes. If this gets fully animated one day, that'd be awesome! Until then, thank you for sharing this with us!

I love the fact that you added the “You are free to eat” part. I also love that you put in the “It’s more of a demonstration, really.” I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!
I absolutely adored this. Everything from the characterization to the voice acting to the music, and of course the action itself scratched every itch I had from this matchup. I really hope one day we get a completed version but if not this is still a serious achievement. Great job to everyone that worked/is working on it!

Absolute PEAK. Everything, that first interaction with the two meeting and Oogway legitimately having no idea who Irho even was but trusting him to have fire is such an Oogway move that it’s scary, and Irho preferring to avoid conflict with games and crying over the spilled tea is in absolute character for him. The reason for fighting being a tea pot is simple yet accurate to make a friendly spar, and that you are free to eat reference is absolute mastery of character interaction.
The fight, how both acted and reacted, it all felt so natural, like running water, I must also give credit with the dialogue in how wise it sounded. I really hope this one day gets finished, but just with this alone you and your team have already made a master class in character interaction.

Even if it's unfinished it might be one of my favorite fights of your series. Both characters felt in character and the action looked pretty cool.

I love it when vs battles actually set up the fight so that it males sense why the characters even would be fighting. I imagine in most other channels interpretation master oogway would just bump into iroh and then theyd decide "well, i guess we're fighting to the death now, who cares about our characterization and the fact that we're both kind characters"

even though its just an animatic this may be one of the best vs animations I've seen ever the story boards are so clear, the voice acting is unbelievably good, and the writing is just perfect everyone who worked on this did a stellar job

Dude! This is fantastic! The voice acting is outstanding, the little short story is this is sweet and the fight isn't too "dramatic". Its exactly how I'd see this fight and I love it!!
(Even if its an animatic, its absolutely beautiful with the different scenes, abilities, and the interaction between the two is just amazing!)

Lowkey I think if this episode had been completed it would’ve been the best episode of either Crossover Colosseum or Smash Bracket. So much heart can be felt through every piece of this, from the writing, animation, to the voice acting, and if just as much love had been put into the analysis section, easily would’ve been a Top 5 VS show episode contender for me, wonderful job to everyone involved! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

This is beautiful, and honestly you did both of the characters justice. Both formidable masters of their craft, both unimaginably wholesome.
Dispite the animation not being complete just the way they stayed in character and the story telling was beautiful and heart warming and badass i loved it.
This animation went harder than Oogway ascending and Leaves from the Vibe
despite the animation being unfinished this is a 10/10 in my book ya nailed the characters perfectly

This is something super special, it absolutely deserves to be finished some day
Even incomplete, this is fantastic at a concept level. It's easy to assume that Iroh is fully spiritually enlightened and wouldn't have anything to learn from a character like Oogway, but we know from Season 2 and his opinion on the Avatar state that Iroh does think material pleasures are important, he was always more the type to stick around and guide others (like the classic idea of an avatar) than to move on and reach enlightenment (like the classical Buddha figures). He also still has his berserk buttons, and his own trauma that isn't fully processed, perhaps not even after death. The fact that he asks for the teapot in the first place is another subtle way to show that.
Likewise, it'd be easy to portray Oogway as a full master, a near godlike character in the spirit realm. But we know from the third film that in terms of raw power, he can be overwhelmed. He has his limits, and he can reach them in a fight. Balancing those two out and making it look believable has a lot of potential pitfalls, and they were avoided nicely.
And then there's all the little things: Iroh's tired of fighting, but Oogway would know deep down that sometimes fighting's necessary. Iroh turns to the chain as his weapon, which is nice (unintended?) symbolism of being chained to the past, or a good callback to when he got caught by the Earth soldiers in Season 1. Lots of little things others have pointed out already, but my favourite is at the end: neither of them introduces themselves as 'master,' but they both acknowledge the other as masters of their craft during or after the fight. There's none of the needless antagonism that creeps into crossovers like this so often. And, you know, sometimes what's not there is just as or even more important than what is.

Should this ever finish production, itll likely be my favorite CC episode, and one of my fav vs animations in general. Phenomenal job from the whole team, especially the VA who embodies characters so well
Man, this is wonderful. The way it's drawn, the voice acting, the music. And the characters!
We've only seen Oogway for part of the first movie I believe, but I feel like these two would be fast friends and appreciate each other's humor and wisdom.
The parallels to the movie and show are also fantastic. Oogway starting the fight similar to Shifu and Po, Iroh getting angry over "JUST TEA" and "hot leaf juice", then grabbing Oogway's foot and pushing him away just like he did with Admiral Zhao in the agni kai, etc.. Wonderufl job.
I love how well you guy's stayed true to the characters and how they are. Great video absolutely loved it.

NGL,this is art ,the characters are so on point that even when they do get into a fight its perfectly in character from Ooogway doing the petty BS Shifu did to Iroh getting pissed over tea,it was just right oh yeah the fight was good too

Both characters are incredibly powerful and have an ungodly amount of wisdom, and yet, fighting is the last thing either of them would want to do. I would honestly see them being friends rather than enemies. Great animation and voice acting btw.

That is definitely very much how I'd imagine an Iroh and Oogway interraction to go, constantly bickering and having fun whilst being total badasses. They are both legendary characters and I'd say on an equal ground when it comes to their skill and power with their respective arts. Honestly I'm not even a tad bit disappointed that this animation is not done and is in a half-animatic half-fully fledged animation stage, it kind of gives it a lot of charm, except for some details where it's near-impossible to tell what is actually going on.

This is my second favorite VS matchup out there, and I can safely say you did it some serious justice. So many things I'd want to see in this fight are here, and the fact that it ends on a wholesome note is perfect. Even if this is just an animatic for now, you did a damn good job here.
