Having read the source material(no spoilers)
I had a feeling that only 12 episodes would leave people feeling a bit empty since it really is where the story just starts to get going.
I even accurately guessed exactly where the last episode would end on. So hoping Mappa can continue their stellar work on the series even with it's detractors.
Also hoping they adapt the authors other works because they go just as hard as CSM.
I've heard that his previous work Fire Punch was fantastic! I might be tempted to pick that manga up, because who knows if/when it'll ever be adapted.
@@thewalkingstick6047 if you do it might give you a taste of what he can do with a complete story. Also I don't see Fire Punch getting adapted until they're done with CSM imo. But I could be proven wrong.
I personally want to see his one shots adapted into full length movies because they're perfect for that format. Like 'Goodbye Eri'.
Thanks for not having any spoilers - guess you couldnt since you didnt read it. But man, I am pissed I watched some other chainsaw man vid's and had parts of the show spoiled :). Not knowing, is a huge part of the fun. I appreciate the content.

You are absolutely correct, season 1 is somewhat of a "set-up" season. Season 1 literally ended 1-2 chapters before the CSM manga readers hyped up starts.
For some background, the author isn't a shonen author per se. His previous work *Fire Punch* is one of the most fucked up mangas I've ever read. He, himself, said that he decided to set up CSM as a pretty generic shonen with the main trio trope just to draw people into his story. And in the next arc of CSM he starts writing in his "peak" story writing style and it doesn't stop until the end.
We're already 37 chapters deep into the 97 chapter long CSM part 1 so season 2 could easily finish the first part of CSM in 24 episodes (but I don't think season 2 will be 24 eps).
The rest of CSM has some of the most outrageous, unnerving and emotional moments I've read in manga. Tatsuki Fujimoto is, as Gigguk said, a genius, short and simple. This man's talent and potential is unrivaled in modern day shonen and he only turned *30* last year in October.
I may be overhyping the rest CSM for some people, but genuinely believe what I say, not in a "get hyped for CSM S2 because I like it" way.
Chibi Reviews called the main villain as evil as Griffith. Gigguk called the author a genius and I praise CSM part 2 as the best currently published manga out right now.
Take my statements as you will. I'm just sharing my opinions and other people might whole heartedly disagree with me and that's fine. I believe that CSM deserves all the praise it gets and more. ❤

It is a really good anime so far, a lot of producers tend to rush the storyline for the anime show. I wish they would slow the pace down to give more in depth backstories and development. I just like long animes. I haven’t read the manga at all, but I do plan to. These are just my thoughts and opinions. Thank you.
Totally agree! I loved the pace the pace of the show. In a perfect world, I wish that we could have had 24 or 25 episodes this season, with the same pacing and character development. I'm so tempted to read the manga, but I'm holding on by a thread.

Yeah only thing that felt weird was the length but if they keep going at the pace they did in Season 1 they will finish the manga in the second season
That's totally fair. It's not even the length that bothers me, it just feels like we are right on the edge of getting to the "good stuff", and I really don't wanna wait years till the next season. I'm so sad.
