something I've noticed almost nobody mentions when talking about Baby Park and its remakes is that in the original, you could throw things like green shells over the centre line and hit people coming the other way, which means you had to watch out for things flying at you from literally every direction, but in 8's remake, there's railings covering it now, so you only have to worry about things from in front and behind you. It makes it a lot less chaotic than it used to be
That's a good point, but I personally consider it a trade-off because MK8DX has _twelve_ players, anti-gravity and still has double items (and more items in general) which still makes the chaotic just in a different way.
For me I think there are definitely some bad remakes that should be in this list. 10. GBA Sunset Wilds (8 Deluxe) An absolute disrespectful remake of a classic track. Removing the sunset removes the entire appeal of it. 9. Wii Coconut Mall (Mario Kart 7) As much as 8 Deluxe ruined the parking lot, the MK7 version is just very ugly looking and barren. The Mii’s are gone from most of it and the 3rd car in the parking lot has been removed. 8. GCN Mushroom Bridge (DS) Just like with Sunset Wilds, This remake kind of removes the main appeal of the course by not letting you go up the bridge itself. 7. SNES Mario Circuit 3 (8 Deluxe) This track had no reason to come back. They had an opportunity to bring back Mario Circuit 4 at last, but instead brought this course back for the 5th time. 6. N64 Toad’s Turnpike (MK8) The lowered difficulty makes this one of the most disappointing remakes ever. 5. GCN Baby Park (DS) This remake is just insulting. The lack of the signature items and the bland graphics just make this a snooze fest. Glad 8 Deluxe made this course chaotic and fun again. 4. 3DS Toad Circuit (8 Deluxe). The BCP had a very rough start and this course is a big example of that. The oversimplified graphics make this just a pain to play. Wasn’t a great first impression of the DLC. 3. SNES Choco Island 2 (DS) this track was not my favorite in SMK, but this game made it worse. The much shorter race and bland music just are not worth it for me. 2. Tour Tokyo Blur (MK8DX) The only Tour city track and by far the worst one. They could have done way more to represent Japan. They made this one worse because of the badly-textured graphics. 1. DS Yoshi Falls (Wii) By far the worst Yoshi course and had no reason to come back. My least favorite from Wii and just an abysmal remake by far.
Great list here is mine: 10. SNES Mario Circuit 3 (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)- This is a Booster Course Pass inclusion that just makes zero sense as it has already been remade in Wii and Tour while Mario Circuit 4 hasn't been remade at all outside of Super Circuit. It also is nothing special in my opinion. 9. DS Desert Hills (Mario Kart Wii)- Another retro course inclusion that doesn't make any sense. This is definitely one of the worst courses from the DS they could have chosen. 8. DS Yoshi Falls (Mario Kart Wii)- Again, why did Nintendo choose to bring this course back immediately for Mario Kart Wii when Cheep Cheep Beach and Luigi's Mansion are right there? 7. GBA Bowser Castle 1 (Mario Kart 7)- This one also doesn't make any sense. Mario Kart 7 brought back classics from every previous game except Super Circuit. 6. GBA Shy Guy Beach (Mario Kart Wii)- This remake is just very annoying and unfun to play 5. SNES Koopa Beach 2 (Mario Kart DS)- The SNES remakes in this game are super short due to only being 3 laps and Koopa Beach 2 is a perfect example of this. It's also pretty annoying trying to avoid falling into the dark patches of water. 4. 3DS Toad Circuit (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)- This was probably the worst choice from Mario Kart 7 to bring back. It's also much blander than the original. 3. N64 Toad's Turnpike (Mario Kart 8)- A major downgrade from the original in every way. This once satisfyingly challenging course is now super easy with the traffic moving so slowly and the road being much wider. 2. GCN Baby Park (Mario Kart DS)- This is probably the biggest downgrade of any course in the series. It's now only 5 laps, looks a lot more bland and there are no bowser shells, giant bananas or chain chomps to be seen. 1. SNES Choco Island 2 (Mario Kart DS)- They took an already ugly and annoying track and made it even worse. The bumps in the road are very annoying and often launch you off the track, the mud which looks nothing like chocolate is annoying to drive through and the track overall just looks very bland and ugly.
@@VancouverVelocityFan Sky garden is a Big downgrade but it still have the same ambiance, a good music and even if they DESTROYED the layout it stay a mid/low tier track, but GBA BOWSER CASTLE 3: they DESTROYED the layout: some sections like After the 5 jumps are shortned, they ruins the yellow jumps ramps THE FUCKING TRACK IS ORANGE THERE IS NO BIG THUNDERCLOUDS AND BLUE BOWSERS WALLS. AND SKY GARDEN IS NOT A FUCKING SECTION TRACK LIKE WII RAINBOW ROAD ! WHY NINTENDO DESTROYED THOSE TRACKS???
Just as a track, Baby Park is worse. But as a remake, Mushroom Bridge is worse. Baby Park is exactly the same as it is in DD except for the lap count. Mushroom Bridge has many good parts stripped from it so that it’s a shell of its DD version. Although I did debate putting Baby Park at 1.
I wouldn't Mushroom Bridge to be in the DLC, but if it does keep all the things that made it special. The pipe "shortcut", the sidewalk, and the bridge climb. Then I'll think about it.
GBA Sky Garden's new remake is by far the worst course of all time to me, I can't believe it didn't even make the list. They destroyed my favourite GBA course.
@@dg_777player5, honestly, there’s not a lot of competition, but I don’t hate it as much as most. I’m surprised that even 3DS Toad Circuit kept the original layout intact. It’s also true that the GBA course in Tour did have their layouts changed, but I don’t have much of a problem with most, including Cheep-Cheep Island and Sunset Wilds, since they haven’t been as butchered compared to Sky Garden. And Riverside Park in Tour is actually rather good, which definitely surprised me.
1:05 - Where is that background image from? Also, I’m glad that SNES Choco Island 2 on the DS isn’t at number 1, the same with SNES Rainbow Road for WiiU and Switch. I also agree with N64 Toad’s Turnpike and 3DS Toad Circuit (Which is unfortunate), while GCN Baby Park DS is just sad, thankfully 8 made it much better, but GCN Mushroom Bridge DS at number 1 is very surprising, yet makes sense, because of what happened.
This list is quite accurate I do say. The only one I don't agree with and have never agreed with is Toad Circuit. I enjoyed it in both 7, and the BCP, but I can understand why it's on here. The graphics are without a doubt bad, but that doesn't change how fun the long turns are. (But it was so bad that the original looks way better 💀) As for the rest of the list, it is extremely accurate. DS just had the best nitro tracks, but the worst retro tracks. Especially with Double Dash tracks.
I think Choco Island and Choco Mountain are not supposed to be real chocolate xd, just some brownish locations, very much like how several Kirby locations are named after food without actually being food
Toads turnpike being one of the best n64 tracks? Dang, I always hated playing turnpike on the 64. It’s infinitely better in the switch version. Still not my fav track by far, but it was definitely a D tier track in 64.
Honestly, I would have put Wii Koopa Cape in 7 and tour. I absolutely despise what they did to this track. Completely defeats what made this track great on Wii.
I hate that they turned the cool see through tube with the water current and those unique electric fans, into just a more generic underwater section like the one at Cheep Cheep Lagoon and Daisy Cruiser
This was a really hard list to make outside of the DS ones, so try not to roast me too much please:)

I’m surprised not to see Tour/8DX’s Sky Garden and Tour’s GBA Bowser Castle 3
Well I hardly ever play Tour so I'm not familiar with it. But I did consider Sky Garden.
