    This dude is the Dr Fauci of sleep. He was on Rogans podcast a few years ago and shared so much cool information. I have told so many people about the 2 occasions every year in the US when heart attacks spike.

      I'm a student too, engineering student in particular and I don't find myself lacking of sleep. It is just a matter of proper time management.

    What has helped me with learning for a test coming up the next day, is that I take the materials just before going to sleep, go through everything for the last time and leave it beside my bed. I think it connects with the “replay” part, that my brain has fresh and new information to go through repeatedly while sleeping.

      That's a terrible study technique.
      It will not commit your memory for the long term.
      You should practice information retrieval, spacing it out in increasing intervals, trying to explain the information in your own words etc.
      You should watch a summary of "Make it stick", or, well, read the book.
      It is rather life changing

    Don't know about that but today i taught myself about molecular bonding while i was asleep.It was very strange and it's been happening for a while with me now.
    I sleep and just before the time i wake up my mind does this thing where it teaches me the things i learned the night before.
    It's weird.

    So for memory consolidation, you have to sleep for long enough. But do you also have sleep as soon as you're tired? i.e. not have an all-nighter before then sleeping for an adequate amount of time

      It doesn’t have the exact same benefits but it can benefit anxiety, patience and the way you think. Meditation has way more benefits then what I just listed so you should probably look it up and do some research on your own.

      @@kenoke381 Some meditators claim to go on less than half the recommended sleeping hours everyday. That's what got me curious about this. As you suggested, a little reasearch would provide a deeper understanding of this.

    Just one correction at 1:59, shouldn't it be the other way round,
    cortex is like a USB stick (working/short-term memory) and hippocampus is like hard drive (long-term memory)?
