    I am pushing 50 and in perimenopause and sleep isn't easy or natural for me. What I've started doing is giving myself 8 solid hours of "sleeportunity" each night. I lie quietly in darkness, I use an eye cover, and if sleep doesn't happen then I lie quietly thinking pleasant thoughts. Dr. Andrew Huberman suggested during one of his podcasts that regeneration of certain neurotransmitters or hormones may be triggered by phases of extended darkness, not by sleep itself. For several months I've been following a standard bedtime with 8 hours of lying in darkness, and I feel great. I now believe that the traditional advice "get up and do something else if you can't sleep" is terrible advice. Perhaps I'm still missing out on the optimum amount of deep sleep, but if my brain wants to sleep I'm giving it the opportunity. It's straightforward and doesn't cost anything and I plan to continue to spend 8 hours a night this way for the long term.

      Try BLUE LIGHT Filter glasses. take them 3-4 hours before sleep. Eventually, after a month of doing that every night or 2 months, Or Maybe 1 week. you will start to sleep good.

      Thank you victorycall, seems like a good idea. Even if you have carved out 8 hrs to sleep, if sleep doesn't happen you can't force it😢 but you can create darkness and just lie there. Sounds great, I'm going to try it and who knows, with repeated practice, the brain may just be persuaded to give in and get into deep sleep mode😴 💤

    I have a method I have used for many years to achieve deep restorative Delta sleep states for myself. I use binaural acoustic tones and modulated pink noise to cause neural entrainment to lower my neural EEG frequencies down to the restorative DELTA states where the Glymphatic system is activated. I have been using this method since the mid 1990's using a very outdated program ("cool edit") which is now part of adobe audition.
    My P.h.D. is in Computer Engineering, so by no means can I claim to be an expert in this subject nor have I published any peer-reviewed studies on this subject. My subjective observations however would indicate that actively modulation of neural frequencies via external entrainment utilizing binaural modulation could have great promise.

    You need to research the effect of mycotoxins on the body. They have been found to effect hippocampus and of course this is where the sleep wake cycle is regulated. The inability to verbalize "what's happening now" also is an indication of mi roscopic swelling in the hippocampus. The person has foggy memories and as sleep worsens forgetfulness is pronounced and depression and anxiety are common. There are supplements and diet protocols that assist in the detox of the mycotoxins sleep and memories improve. Doctors who recognize mycotoxins as serious causes of insomnia and dementia find that implementing the same supplements and diets for alzhiemers patients and find remission of symptoms in these people. No dementia. Simple. Medicine makes it so complicated. I know this all first hand. I have had severe insomnia and did not sleep for almost 6 months. It had started 10 years before that and progressively worsened while employed at a nursing home of which had a very leaky roof that still has not been fixed. I left in January and supplements are helping me sleep again. Mycotoxins also cause sleep apnea.

      Nop, what i understood is that Alzhaimer and the protein that is mentioned, are "linked", and that good sleep prevent this protein appearing and thus, eliminates a possible cause for Alzheimer. Even if the protein caused Alzheimer, never was said that was the only one. (You can make excercise to prevent a heart attack, but you can still suffer a heart attack due to other reasons)

    • @vidhac5430
      @vidhac5430 3 года назад +1

      You're right. Association refers to correlation, i.e. possible link or factor, but never as one causes the other (causality). Eg. If it's said being married over a period of time makes people lose their hair, because it's found old married couples have less hair, it's wrong because that is just one association or factor, but in fact ageing here causes people to lose hair.@@AlvaroGuzman2324
