I used to have extreme insomnia from 2020 to 2022. Every night I would just lay awake praying for sleep to come and then be absolutely defeated the next day at school. One day in 2022 shortly after moving to another house it suddenly went away. I hope I never have to go through that again and I hope everyone whose dealing with this finds relief soon Edit: Sadly over the course of a couple weeks my insomnia has come back and it’s worse than ever. I haven’t slept for a week now
@@style8201 try getting sunlight morning and evening , every morning go out and look at the sunrise or have a walk ,in the evenings look at the sunset and also have a walk All these can help reset ur circadian rhythm And also drop using ur phone an hour or more before bed And while in bed just relax and think about something u like ,u'll eventually fall asleep
I have never related to another human being so much before. try covering the clock, that's what i do and it helps. but as soon as i think i won't be able to sleep i get that hot feeling in my chest and head and can't sleep.
y’all i kind of fixed mine. pull an all nighter (even if you’ve made it to 4 in the afternoon, DON’T go to sleep) and then go to sleep at like 7-8pm. then when i woke up the next day it was like 4:00 am. i stayed awake the whole day, then went to sleep at like 10pm. so hopefully the same thing will happen to u. keep that sleep cycle for the next couple of days. (i go to sleep around 12am-2am now)
I experience this during exam periods. I always try to go to sleep early on, but end up staying wide awake in the fear that I will lose sleep and wake up sleep deprived.
Trying to sleep more early straight off the bat won’t always work. Most people would try to slowly adjust the timing of there sleep in earlier days just to sleep more early.
JAMSit JOLOXx I meant early according to exam periods. I used to have the habit of studying till 2am. Now I try to to go to sleep by midnight at the latest( which is the time by which I usually go to sleep when exams aren't ongoing).
My Mom suffers from this and it really hurts to know that she can't rest given how hard she works for us. I really wish there was a cure for this man.😕
@@HubertNiesyn i'm a Christian and I have been dealing with this for more than 4 months... I sleep 2 hours a day and trust me, i have prayed and prayed and God doesn't cure me
There it is a cure. Tell her to do this. Buy a juice extractor (centrifugal system) Buy carrots 🥕 it will be 25lb (11.34kg). 3 days before to do this detox she can not eat (Gluten, dairy products, cereals, seeds, sugar, sugar) and for the following 5 days, total 8 days. She can eat (Meats, Vegetables, fruits, tubers, tubers, vegetables) . Will make the juices every day fresh 5x5 5 glasses 8oz carrot juice 8 for 5 days. Do this detox once a month you will see a lot of changes. Plus take Magnesio and Lysine 500gr every night couple of hours before sleeping. That's was the only cure for my chronic insomnia 20 years. I've tried everything. Love to your mom! ❤
Seroquel really helped me to fall asleep and stay asleep. I didn’t get any dude effects from it either . If your insomnia is bad enough it’s worth it to try
im a bit of an insomniac because of cringy memories, undone work, anxiety about grades, and relation to friends and families, whenever i would wake up, i definitely feel lethargic but it does go away after eating or taking a shower.
although not being able to sleep doesn't sound too bad, it is extremely painful when you have to perform with less sleep like during exams. Having gone through this ordeal, I wish nothing but the best for you and stay hard you will get through this.
@@theeternal6890 thank you that means alot, and i will ❤️❤️ I've been actually sleeping at decent times now which i am really proud of, i don't drink that much coffee nowadays and always try to get my body moving instead of just laying in my bed
When you're getting into bed late and have to wake up early the next day, then you start thinking about how many hours of sleep you will get if you sleep right now. But then you just start overthinking and then suddenly 4 hours pass and you have to be awake in 3 hours and then you stress out because you won't get enough sleep to function like a proper human being. Then you just don't sleep that night. Is it just me? (Edit) How to fix this? I'm not a professional but the easiest way that I found to fix this is going to bed earlier than usual and turning off all devices and trying to clear your mind. Some sleep music might help, or a sleep-related podcast, and try not to stress over the next day or any work you might have to do because it can keep your brain thinking. I found that waking up early is very important as well because you'll get tired faster and have an easier time going to bed. Also don't stress about the hours of sleep you'll get, I personally struggled with that and found it much easier to sleep when I just tried to relax. Hope it helps you guys!
i feel u, i use to have really bad insomnia a few years ago where i would go days in a row without sleep. i would be so anxious to go to bed because i was afraid i wouldn’t be able to fall asleep. my sleep schedule has been better lately and i hope you get some sleep too :)
I have school tmr need to wake up at 630 and I tried to slept at 11 then I woke up again at 3 tired sleeping again but I kept overthinking what will happend tomorrow since it's my first day of school now I can't sleep it already 5 😭😥😥
something i find useful is to stop thinking about sleep and instead just lying in bed. also, just be super calm before rolling into bed should be helpful.
jem zhang Meditation would be very beneficial to you then. I find that i fall asleep easier when i play meditation music. You don't even have to listen to it.
@@lochandichabod3084 my insomnia is on and off, sometimes i slept great and sometimes i cant sleep well.. it just feels like i just closed my eyes for a few hours then when i wake up im still tired. No matter how tired i am, i cant fall asleep.
I used to be an insomniac (not diagnosed) but I did get scared of not falling asleep, and it I’ve grown better. When I can’t fall asleep, I recognize that it’s okay when this happens and I shouldn’t be scared and get caused in this endless loop.
That’s exactly what you’re supposed to do. You’re supposed to reassure yourself that it’s ok. I’m so envious of people who can do that. But I’m happy that you can. I have trazodone. I could take it if I wanted to, but damn it, I just want my body to do what it’s supposed to do without meds.
Spent the whole night closing my eyes trying to sleep. And it was so frustrating because no matter how sleepy I was, I couldn't fall asleep. And because of the first night when I couldn't sleep, I developed a fear of not being able to sleep and not getting enough sleep. This is torture.
This comment is probably 99% of what I was going through idk if you get this but since all that happen for me of what you just said I get like shocked every time I try to fall asleep
@@qxpn9220 Hey! So I started exercising to the point I was beyond exhausted. And before bed I take a shower. It still takes forever for me to go to sleep but its gotten so much better. 😊

How can you cure your insomnia in a day? 1. Get up at 6 a.m. 2. Do not sleep, lie down, or doze off throughout the day. 3. Keep active and avoid staying at home during the day by going to work and exercising. 4. Sit comfortably between 10:00p.m-11:00p.m, you may also choose to meditate, however, you should avoid using your phone, television, and computer. 5. Lie awake between11:00p.m -06:00a.m. While you lie there, feel free to let your mind wander, but you must remain firm on staying awake all night and refrain from falling asleep even for a second. If you have the courage to do this for one day, then your insomnia can also be cured in the same day. However, if you lack this courage, then you will continue to allow insomnia to torture you.
In 2014 i suffered from insomnia for a couple of months. And to be honest the way i got rid of it was when i stopped caring about sleep. I stopped worrying about not getting enough sleep and i didnt care anymore. Following that change after a few weeks my insomnia was gone and i didnt even realize it. Well thats how I got rid of insomnia. When u dont get enough sleep just dont worry about it. Do something u enjoy and forget about it. When the bed time comes just lay down and if u get sleep its ok if u dont its ok too ur not gonna die. Hope it helps someone.
I remember having the same problem it all started wen I was studying to hard and my brain couldn’t calm down. I ended up sleeping with my parents to make me comfortable for 2 months. I then got pills cuz I was fed up with insomnia but that didn’t work, I was supposed to not use it too much but I ended up did and it gave me fast heart rate which freaked me out a lot. I then got rid of them. I then tried to learn the basics of falling asleep and what to do wen I can’t fall asleep. I did that for almost a year and all I can say is, I think my insomnia is gone!! 😁
I'm suffering with insomnia for a week already and I don't think there's any weird thoughts or nightmares that makes me awake. It's just blank and yet, I still can't go to sleep.
I don’t have insomnia, but I’d had my share of nights where it took hours to fall asleep. I’d be so CLOSE to sleeping, like barely conscious, but not actually asleep. It was so frustrating. The worst is when you stress about not being able to sleep, and when you finally do, you have a stressful dream that you aren’t able to sleep.
I also don't have insomnia but I hate when i finally fall asleep, waking up randomly and then feeling stressed about how much time you have left to sleep, finally giving in and checking the time only to realise it's been an hour (or less) and then being unable to fall asleep again 😩✋
Or when you're actually sleeping but it feels like you're just closing your eyes instead of actually sleeping. It happened to me yesterday. I remember dreaming (and all of them are nightmares) but I don't feel like I'm actually sleeping.
I always been sleeping well in my past 23 years, and now, not sure what’s happening, unable to have quality sleep for almost 2 weeks. There’s always this voice in my mind keep talking for whole night, and the vivid dream I’m experiencing every single night. I didn’t aware how sleep quality is so important previously, I started to feel myself unable to focus on a task, suddenly space out, hard to focus while driving, and even watching this video I have to keep repeat cuz cannot focus. It’s started getting hard for me to just do my daily activities. Currently trying different ways to put me on sleep
Same with me past 2 days my sleep quality is just deteriorated. I sleep for 7-8 hours but waking up like I didn't have sleep for even 1 hour and another thing I remember every details of my dream
Had a really rough streak of insomnia nights a few years ago and decided to fix the problem for good. What really helped me is seriously working on my sleep schedule, moving a lot (almost everyday), limiting alcohol, seeing a therapist for my anxiety, sometimes cannabis and a good bed time routine (herbal tea, reading, relaxed foam roller). I know the problem and condition is different for everyone, but there is hope! Rarely fall asleep in more than an hour now, and even when stressed it almost never exceeds 2 hours. :)
@@Adri-dj9ve I'm just telling people what worked for me, not what they should do. Cannabis helps for some people and makes it worst for other (it also depends on the strain and a ton of other factors). No comment in this section should be taken as direct advice anyway, anyone struggling with anxiety or insomnia should consult a doctor or therapist before trying any new substance.
I’ve been dealing with this for a few years now. Once my depression and anxiety really took a large role in my life, it got worse. Just a few weeks ago I had a very high levels of this, and I was so sleep deprived I was having sleep paralysis and nightmares- which made my anxiety about falling asleep even worse. I’ve tried multiple sleep medications and found one that works most of the time. It’s hard to live with this because so many people don’t believe you. Just know that you’re not alone and there are people that struggle too. We believe and understand you❤
@@ashmiahmed5130 I honestly still struggle. Antidepressants could probably help, especially if you're problem revolves around your mental health (like my sleep gets worse when my depression/anxiety get worse). Therapy may help too if you're not looking for medication. I am treatment resistant (antidepressants don't work) so it can be really discouraging to not be "fixed"... but just hang in there.
I suffered the borderline disorder for over 23 years. With so much anxiety Not until I came across psilocybin mushrooms treatmentPsilocybin treatment actually saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms

Yes, dr.porassss. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I suffered from insomnia since I was a kid but eventually stopped caring anymore from how much stress and fatigue it had put me through so once I stopped caring I was able to sleep once again. A very good tip for getting some sleep is to get off the bed as soon as you feel anxious or irritable and instead do any kind of activity to ease your mind like watching TV etc, and when you feel like you've relaxed go back to bed casually. If you ever start getting racing thoughts stop and try distracting yourself by thinking about what you did during the day or a TV show or anything you find interesting. That really helps trust me.
i used to have insomnia a few years ago when i was 12. it was a scary experience. i never knew i was able to but i had it, still dont know what caused it or if i dont wanna admit it. it took around 4 days to resolve it and took around a week to go back to normal. i used a lot of what it says in this video so if u need help this really works as a note. me personally, i went on a long run before sleeping and listened to bedtime stories

Body's weak and its the heart. Can't get to sleep. Strengthen body then everything's fine. He uses herbal medicine to strengthen the body. Cures insomnia quite fast, just about 2 to 3 weeks. After treatment to strengthen body as a whole. This takes I remember takes like 2 to 3 months. After I am in great health. Now like over 30 years no running nose its disappeared. Tried vitamin c whatever never work. Unfortunate can't see this old physician anymore cause he's passed away about 2 years ago. He must be like 80 to 90 years old. For me he makes me healthy for like 30 years. Visit him like when body is not so fine and get treatment. One string of treatments usually make me fine for about 5 to 10 years. Actually should visit more often. I regret it now. When you get insomnia the doctors says its psycological is not true. Maybe for most cases but not all. Hope people who got this problem can fine a cure 😇😴😴😴

About 4 years ago, my sister came to my room to have a sibling sleepover, we started playing minecraft PE on our phones, I lost track of time and realized that it had become 5AM, and I could see the small cracks of light that came out of the blinds, I started panicking, was thinking things like "oh my god, I missed the night, I am supposed to be sleeping, I was awake all night", just thinking those thoughts filled me with stress and I literally couldn't sleep. From that dreadful night, it started, chronic insomnia, nights after that, I became scared and stressed when I saw "2AM" or "3AM" on my phone, my scrappy solution was to just try to lose track of what time it is and just sleep, which kinda worked, but it didn't help that I have a brother who can't sleep in complete darkness, so he liked to open the blinds, we fight a lot about that, in the end I always win, and keep the blinds always closed. I have started to become better, I'm in desperate need to create a routine, but it's just hard when you share a room with your twin. If you made it this far in this comment, wow, thanks for hearing my little rant, you're a true chad. ❤

Oh my god I never thought it was insomnia this whole time.I remember last year where I would constantly have insomnia whenever I try to sleep.I remember crying and stressing over the fact I can’t have enough sleep.Eventually after a few minutes of stressing, crying and having anxiety I will later then start to fall asleep naturally. It was so terrifying to the point my body start to shaking and my heart beating so fast.Thankfully I learn how to control my sleep schedule and finally starting to have normal sleep but yeah it’s still make me fear that the day like that will happen again.I just hope I never have experience it again cuz it’s so exhausting and tiring :/

You know, you walk out the door, you see someone that you know and they ask you how you are and you have to say that you are fine when you are not really fine but you just can't get into it because they would never understand.
That's also kinda true. Your phone provides you with constant information and that can grab your attention for an unlimited amount of time. Trying to stay away from your devices can help you tremendously, just like exercise (yes, I know, I'm that guy today).
I used to have really bad insomnia but I’ve gotten over it for the most part. what really helped for me was thinking back to the days when I used to fall asleep instantly… when you can recall the mentality you used to be in at bedtime, over time you can teach yourself to get back into that headspace. for the most part I realized the biggest difference between falling asleep instantly and staying up all night is your brain’s perception of what will happen after you shut your eyes. if you can convince yourself to BELIEVE you’re about to fall asleep… your brain will learn to. but when you lie there like “okay I HAVE to fall asleep” it just gives you anxiety. usually not being tired isn’t the issue. it’s your approach to going to bed… try genuinely believing you’re about to fall asleep like a person without insomnia would and it really helps.
Yes I can relate this I also thought how easily I was able to sleep and the best thing to overcome these problems is to understand your brain and master it
You’re absolutely right. This thought came to my head just recently i think too much that i HAVE to sleep whereas before i just closed my eyes and slept honestly getting back to that thought process isn’t easy but once you have it in mind just keep at it daily
I think it’s because how we talk. When we try to speak (as in comments) as casual as ever, it always shows a tiny picture of our personality. Even if it is all letters.
I had so severe insomnia , i couldn't sleep for 2 weeks im glad im getting sleep now, even tho i didnt took any stress tht time i felt tired all days and still couldnt sleep
I think what's more likely is that you're so exhausted from not sleeping enough or not having quality sleep that you're ready to sleep any time throughout the day. If the tips in the video don't help, you might want to see a doctor about it because that's not a great way to live your life.
Rome Blanchard If the tips in this video don't help that's about when you start looking into Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. Most people who have it describe it more like having constant jet lag if you're required to get up at a point that isn't a natural waking cycle for you, i.e. 9am instead of 11:30am. If you do have this you will have a natural waking point that your body defaults to if you don't interfere with it and you'll get natural, 7 to 9 hours of sleep regularly and wake up feeling healthy on your schedule. I'm one of the relatively lucky ones in that it was very obvious early on what my problem was and using sleeping pills can help me adjust to a regular morning schedule, even if that's not as good for my rest as just letting my body do what it wants, but it is pretty distinct in my experience from how most insomniacs describe insomnia. Like, is there a time of day / night where you don't have trouble falling asleep? For me it's 4 a.m. I can go to sleep right at 4 a.m. no problem and wake up 8 hours, or more likely seven and a half hours, later without an alarm clock but trying to switch from anything but that is an uphill battle that leaves me exhausted or medicated. Sometimes both. Either way, it's something to discuss with the doctor because there are major long-term health issues with not getting enough REM sleep.
I have narcolepsy, but I still go through periods of terrible insomnia. I start to hallucinate after 48 hours of no sleep 😵 it’s definitely possible to have both at the same time.

One thing I could recommend in this situation is not looking at the time. This results in less stress about inability to sleep because you don't really know how much time you've been awake. My sister keeps looking at the clock whenever she can't sleep, and she can't sleep even more because of it. I told her not to do it for this reason. After that, I haven't found her doing it again so it's good
I was medicated for my insomnia for years. Doctor always said it was addictive but the only addictive part was the sleep I was getting! Didn’t always need it every night, but was such a blessing when I couldn’t get myself there.
I usually get nightmares during sleep, like death of close people, etc...And now I'm scared of sleeping. What should I do?? I'm literally crying while writing this comment.
I’m so glad they included info about Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. I thought I had insomnia when really I was just suffering the effects of my natural sleep cycle clashing with the world’s dominant early bird culture. I’ve had this for years now...I just feel like one day I will die from sleep deprivation Edit: I posted this more than a year ago. Unfortunately, it hasn’t gone much better.
I also went through this ,but I am absolutely fine now. First of all, you need to put aside the biggest goal in your life from your mind. This doesn’t mean you should forget it, but only remember it when you’re doing something to work towards it. You shouldn't think about it all the time. You should also understand that there is much more to life beyond that goal to celebrate. You just need to accept it and think with an open mind. Stay away from caffeine and intoxicants, and make sure to sleep only at night. Keep yourself busy with work. It doesn’t necessarily have to be related to your larger goal; you can stay busy with any kind of work. Fix your sleep schedule-go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even if you don't feel sleepy. Maintaining a proper sleep schedule is essential. Do meditation and deep breathing exercises in the morning and evening for 15 minutes each time. Exercise, especially cardio and weight training, is very helpful. A minimum of one hour of exercise is a must. And even after doing all this, if the situation persists, please visit a psychiatrist. It’s not a big deal. Things will get better within a month.
My mom also experienced this kind of problem for almost 10 years. She only had 14 hours of sleep every week. Later she got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Thanks God just after her medication, she was able to have 10-14 hours of sleep every night. Never lose hope guys!!
I’m 14, I’m struggled with sleep stress my whole life. It’s the most draining feeling I have ever felt. Most people don’t understand how I feel. If I don’t sleep one night the next night the pressure is insane, and I will fall asleep incredibly late. That fear lingers every night and I worry during the day time not wanting it to be night out of fear. During last summer I basically fell asleep at 4:00am-5:00am and woke up at a decent time every day for a week while I was at my dads house, he swore that would work but no. I hate feeling this way I have considered ending my life over it. My sleeps been much better with trazedone, I had to go through a few all nighters every now and then to get to this point. Now I can fall asleep 10:30 -11:00 and I am grateful, some times I will wake up at 2:00 am though, or 1:00 am. Today I woke up at 2:00am and I’m frightened for tonight I hope I will get good sleep I’m praying I will. I fear this decent pattern will not last forever and I am scared so scared.
my sleep disorder started in my school years too and today (after 15 years) it has gotten worse 🤣 i hope you can make it to sleep like a normal human being. Insomnia is really terrible especially in your young years. Because: when you are young you have much energy. But if you dont sleep well, your energy level is maybe comparable with someone who is old. Its very sad. And if you dont sleep well, your spirit is broken. you try to fight but you can't because your own brain destroys you with negative thoughts 😕
I have it as well. I’ve never been diagnosed or anything but I just call it sleep anxiety. I had it so bad when I was 14ish. As the years went on it’s gotten a lot better through anxiety medication and stuff but every now and then I’ll still go through it. The best thing to do is pray🙏. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You will get better and better. Never give up
For those who are watching this video. I was suffering from insomnia since last 3 years. That was the most difficult time in my life. I cried a lot. I tried so many things , homeopathic and ayurvedic sleeping pills also. But it couldn't help me. Then one day I red about yoga nidra in a newspaper. I started trying it and it started working on me. It will help to reduce our anxiety and overthinking and make our brain calm to easily fall asleep. Now I'm sleeping everyday atleast 7 hours. Along yoga nidra, positive affirmations also helped me to live more beautiful life. Everyone should try this . We will overcome. Luv u alll
My main problem with insomnia is that when I get comfortable with being in bed, I start thinking about how much time of sleep I'll get if I end up falling asleep soon, and as a result I start getting anxious and I count the time in my mind. I visualise the clock in my head and am really reluctant to check the time on my phone because that would just make everything worse. Seems like the only realiable way for me to fall asleep is to get really tired by doing various things during the day and just jump in the bed without having the energy left to think about anything. Overthinking during the night is a serious curse. The worst overall thing about this is that it doesn't matter at what time you decide to go to bed, there is no guarantee you'll fall asleep soon, after a few hours, or at all.
Idk why it’s just difficult for me to sleep at night even tho I’m so sleepy. But when morning comes around 7 am I can sleep so easily. And it’s 2 a.m. now I just cried so hard cause I can’t sleep. Am I overreacting? I told my mum about this but she thinks that I’m ridiculous 💀
Same.my parents first told me that.then I searched for solution in Google(didn't work for long). Now mom is telling me not to stress and everything.like abandon everything that makes me stress.but I can't do that and sometimes it's not just stress that's keeping me awake.so I don't think it's going to work.
This is the way I deal with insomnia at night: - ignore it - no stress at sleep time -no see clock -meditation or reading -remind myself Brain need to relax now -if I don’t sleep, I can’t finish all my important tasks Tmr.
@@dheeraj4170 yes, it works. Don't take meditation as a last resort. Take it as first. Also, you're Indian yourself. There's many great saints, sages throughout centuries talking about importance of meditation. Meditation heals everything. You can try meditation with headphones because a beginner will have much difficulty focusing. Try "soothing root chakra chants" by meditative mind, especially at morning and night for half hour each. Then you can move to other meditation without headphones when your focus becomes clear. Like, rajyoga meditation. You can learn about spirituality and meditation more on internet. One good teacher is bk Shivani. Anyways, best of luck !

Insomnia can be a physical problem. For me it has been bad, can't sleep bcos can't get drowsy. Be it day or night or very tired. Doctors, hospital, psychaitrist don't help. Gone on a few months. Very tired n totally can't do anything. Finally somebody cured me with herbal medication. Only 2 weeks can sleep normal. Following continued a couple months of herbal medication to strenghant body. After I got to normal weight from being always underweight. Cold, running nose disappeared until now 30 years. All is bcos of weaker physical condition. Hope u find a cure.
@@cchinseng can you share more on ingredients in the herbal medication?
@@MophineChild yes sir. It seems many people have this dire problem. For me its serious and the doctors can't cure it, be it western or eastern. My be I'm just lucky. Someone introduce this Chinese physician to me and only he can treat it. He's like a clinic and its packed. Treats many people and fees not too expensive. Told me my problem.

That's also kinda true. Your phone provides you with constant information and that can grab your attention for an unlimited amount of time. Trying to stay away from your devices can help you tremendously, just like exercise (yes, I know, I'm that guy today).
It's true
Yes I can relate this I also thought how easily I was able to sleep and the best thing to overcome these problems is to understand your brain and master it
It’s hard man
This works when I think about a time when I was able to sleep I always end up falling a sleep instantly

It's like I have insomnia at night and narcolepsy at day.
Rome Blanchard *me too. I just hate the day, especially mornings..*
Same :/
I have narcolepsy, but I still go through periods of terrible insomnia. I start to hallucinate after 48 hours of no sleep 😵 it’s definitely possible to have both at the same time.

the worst is when you can’t sleep so then you stress about it, which only causes you to stress more and sleep less

Give meditation a try I show how to properly meditate on my page

@@dheeraj4170 yes, it works. Don't take meditation as a last resort. Take it as first. Also, you're Indian yourself. There's many great saints, sages throughout centuries talking about importance of meditation. Meditation heals everything.
You can try meditation with headphones because a beginner will have much difficulty focusing. Try "soothing root chakra chants" by meditative mind, especially at morning and night for half hour each.
Then you can move to other meditation without headphones when your focus becomes clear.
