I have to say, although I didn't love the album anywhere near as much as Fantano did, I find her to be a very interesting person. The way she kind of struggles to answer his questions and just her general vibe almost gives me the impression that she exists on the outside of all of this. On the outside of the music industry and on the outside of pop culture. Outside of ratings and reviews. And especially when she mentioned she was a wallflower as a kid. And considering the free-spirited quality of her music, I'm not surprised that she's a little quirky. Great interview :)

14:15 Discussion on being a wallflower and boys at school. the boys at school represent the overarching oppression of the true self that wants to come out. Legacy is written from the idea of the unborn, what is the experience like of the oblivion and then arriving in the conditions of your surroundings, and inherit so much. Shes felt alienated in her own body, similar tone about how do you piick up the pieces of everything around you and make it into something meaningful? how do you do that with confidence? meeting the pale light of day and accepting your particulr life and taking charge of it at the same time. Magic and music overlap in every single way. Music is what makes you human but also beyond human. it makes you connect to the natural world. I want that human core to last and endure. There is such a tension with me where I am making work and there is an expectation of performance and there is such a resistance where I want to step away from the spotlight, where I dont want to be on the microphone even. When I think of the spiritual factor behind the music I am learning to accept my path, my music is from god, to me it is the work of god, I am in service to that first, I am still very much in the process of understanding. Raised catholic and to an open minded family. Build your own independent mind. Music had brought me the closest to a religious or spiritual practice. Music is just pure magic, it is infinite and I try to live in that in between where I can pull from the subconcious states and weave it into something material. I think magic is weaving cerebral logical and the mud, the ephemerality of just notes and tones and all that.

He’s not a bad interviewer but yes he could work on not packing too much into a question. The issue might partly come from his style of keeping the interview conversational.
