It's not the fault of the media. It just reflects whatever people are thinking/feeling and amplifies it. Its everyone's fault for being stupid enough to hear nothing but a statement or allegation with zero actual evidence or actual presumption of innocence (just one of our country's core principles, no big deal) and choosing to assume that if someone is merely ACCUSED of something they are automatically guilty in the court of public opinion. We've got grown adults who don't even remember that we have a judicial system for just this reason. Because convicting people based on FEELINGS OR OPINIONS is NOT RELEVANT OR LEGAL. The burden of proof is on the prosecution, NOT the defense. Proof beyond ANY amount of REASONABLE DOUBT. Circumstantial and/or anecdotal evidence is often not taken that seriously for a very good reason, it's not DEFINITIVE PROOF. People are presumed innocent UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, but our society has devolved and twisted it in the opposite direction, which isn't just wrong, it's dangerous and unconstitutional. As well as un-American. It's not the media's fault, it's your fault(by which I mean pretty much all American adults but mainly the stupid white ones. It's y'all who've made our society into a disgusting husk of what it once was. STOP MAKING SNAP JUDGEMENTS BASED ON POORLY VERIFIED OR UNPROVEN NEWS REPORTS THAT YOU DON'T EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO FACT CHECK AND MOST LIKELY DIDN'T EVEN PAY FULL ATTENTION TO. Consider how you would want people to view the situation if you were the one accused of something awful, but with no actual evidence, and now that unverified and likely exaggerated or just plain wrong information is being parotted back and forth by all the news sources and no one is bothering to hear what you have to say to defend yourself because they've made up their minds already; because someone wouldn't be accused of something if thet didn't actually do it, right? How would you feel? Does this sound right, or moral, or honest, integral etc? It shouldn't sound right because it's not, IT'S WRONG. Everyone try thinking a little harder and re-educate yourself on how our (lack of) justice system actually works. You know, actually be properly informed about something BEFORE making a judgement. I know it's a crazy concept for most Americans what with how stupid the majority of us are becoming. Smfh. This isn't rocket science people. Just about doing things the right way, rather than basing opinions and actions on stupid emotions stoked by lack of proper information and procedure. Just be decent human beingsand treat others how you'd want to be treated in ANY GIVEN SITUATION. WHY IS THAT SO HARD FOR AMERICANS THESE DAYS TO DO?

Its enraging how the police were very specific that Collins was not a suspect and only interested to talk to him for any potential info he could provide to help with the investigation. Who knew the media was gonna get wind of the investigation and take it and run before they got their facts right? This is pretty much hindsight. Also, yes, I know all too well how corrupt the BRPD is. I have friends in the area that has told me all the horror stories. But, just my opinion, this one is the media's fault, not the police. But...... on the other hand , step up and be a man, get drafted in the first round and he would had plenty money to support the baby very comfortably. Now which option seemed to be in his best interest. Not only did he not have motive to kill her, he had motive not to kill her and ruin his chance at making mega millions in the NFL which as I said before would have made her being pregnant with his baby seem not that big of a deal. Going as a first rounder he could have easily plaid 100,000 a year in child support and not even miss it
