    Your sympathy for him during his ankle surgery, that really hit me. I went through career ending surgery and the way you sympathize for his struggle there, it made me feel good knowing that people understand how crushing that is for an athlete.

    My family used to visit Dallas each year and we met Sam and his wife every time we came down. He was a really nice guy, spent a lot of time with us, and even gave us his personal cell phone when we were just kids telling us to text him whenever. It was sad to see this happen.

    I was in 6th grade-7th grade when he made it to the league. He went to the rival high school of my school. Everyone from San Antonio, especially the south side of San Antonio was so excited for this guy. Someone making it big. And then when all of this came out, I could physically feel the disappointment throughout the city.

    I’m from the DFW area and got a chance to meet Sam at church as a teen. He was a really cool and was putting us young dudes on game about life and how to make it in whatever we want....A few years later, when this story came out I was SHOOK. It’s always the folks you never expect lol

      Sam is a good guy. I did time with him at Bastrop FCI. We were in the same unit and hung out frequently throughout the day. He was going through a tough time in between contracts. He was trying to take care of his family and friends and was broke after his first contract.

    True Story, my daughter was in the hospital and Sam was with the Cowboys. I remember he, Marc Colombo and some cheerleaders visited my daughters room and took pics with her. When this thing with Hurd happened after, I was like... WHOA!

    I was 5' 11" a sophomore in high school. Primary position WR. DEMENTED TO PLAY, I gained 20#'s. My career is never noteworthy. I became the hit man, wanted to play college ball, elected to go to Morehead State, Rex Ryan defensive coordinator....yeah I know! I just didn't want to be injured for a team that had a bad reputation. I even lived in the do m all the athletes lived in being a councilor for players and bad losses shout-out Jamie Phillips and Jessie!!!

    Sam Hurd. I was shocked when this story came out. Loved him on the Cowboys. Very solid and dependable player. Spent a year in Chicago, then this story came out. It was truly shocking.

    I watched one of your videos for the 1st time just a few days ago. I really enjoyed watching it so as of right now I have watched at least 10 others. I am a 61 yo woman and I enjoy watching crime shows. Some how one of your videos showed up so I watched and enjoyed it.     i remember being around 10 years old when this story went down. as a naive 10 year old cowboy fan, i thought the guy was just a bad guy for getting arrested. learning more & more over the years and you just putting out this video, made me completely regret how i thought of the guy. truly heartbreaking story

    It’s really crazy to think how many stories people have about him. Truly tragic how a couple mistakes can end a persons career but learning from them will only better that person. Sucks he had to learn this lesson this way but can’t wait to see how he’ll approach life once he’s out.

    You're selling Miles Austin short in this. He was a great player in all phases of the game. Fast, a great route runner, and even a great special teams player. As a Cowboys fan, I wish his hamstrings stayed healthy, he was a great player when healthy. He would have surpassed Hurd even if Hurd was healthy.

      Austin was DEFINITELY just more talented than Sam, especially in the Speed category ! But calling Austin"GREAT" is a bit of a stretch IMO, but we all have different interpretations of what " Great" means 😌

    He wasn’t the only one who played jv his junior year. Knew I wasn’t gonna start over a guy on varsity who was twice my size so I stayed down. Funnest year of football I ever had. Don’t regret it at all
