Believe me it is very tough! Ironically there’s still a lot of bad drivers in Massachusetts.

I just took my road test and the guy screamed at me the whole time, told me to pull over and stop the car four times by the time it was done the guy had me shaking, told me I ran a stop sign, which I didn’t and failed me. He got out of the car, adjusted his pants and lit a cigarette! Masshole!!

I literally had to drive around a single block and stop at 3 stop signs and they gave me a license.

If the MA test is hard then I want to know what the hell these other states are doing

And yet nobody in the state follows “keep right expect to pass”

That explains why there are so many bad drivers here 🤔

I got in a horrible accident as a passenger when i was like 16 and waited until I was 25 to start learning to drive-made the mistake of not getting it while I still lived in NJ lol couldn't figure out why passing the test was so much harder than I remember my friends making it out to be?

This is shocking to me if true. It's almost like drivers here forget everything after the test! Or maybe it's not the kids but adult drivers...?

I luckily passed but the RMV driver made me feel so guilty for a bad turn I took that I don’t feel happy about passing at all :(

I got my license in Cape Cod in 2006 it was super easy. I drove out of the RMV parking lot made a left turn at a four way stop intersection on to a residential street, pull over with turn signal and stop, back up 50ft, make a 3 point turn drive back to the DMV and stop and correctly navigate the four way intersection again drive in to the RMV parking lot and park in a parking spot. Do hand signals and done. So easy passed on first try same with the 20 question written test. And on the written test you only need 15 of 20 questions right. Passed on first try on that as well.

My daughter took hers today and failed because she has a habit of staying on left lanes quite often on two-way streets not focusing if she sees a one-way sign first to confirm if it's a two-way street. She went by just looking at how the street looks. I was behind that test car as well and the street was like a mini hill street and if you're not experienced, you would think it's a street you can drive left on. The street was small and sort of had an up curve on it. The one thing she should've looked at as well is the car on the left and how it's parked even though at times it could be a crazy person parked anyway but that would've helped her a bit. It's those small details that matter. Always drive on the right lane UNLESS otherwise because you can be on the left and a car can approach really fast and that's it. Other than that, she's really great. She makes great tuns on one the toughest curbs and lines. Her parallel parking is amazing. Even the instructor couldn't believe she made that small mistake not once but twice. Somethings that are simple for others may not be simple for another person and some things that are hard may not be so difficult. I told her to look at it like this - if that instructor ignored that mistake, let you pass and you went right ahead - got your own car, later down the line you would've had an accident and Lord knows what could've happened to you. She could've had one leg disfigured, or something horrible could've happened to her A lot of times, you see cool whips, people doing their own thing and you don't know how the heck they passed. Also, we have those who are horrible drivers BUT when they are taking the test, they're actions are like a quiet mouse. They know what's coming and do everything perfect. They pass and BOOM, they go right back to their nonsense while driving and get into terrible accidents. It's also a flipped situation at times. This is a life lesson which connects with the old school advice - don't look on to others and compare yourself because we're all different and if you try to look onto others and beat yourself up, you are only damaging your route in life. We are made to be different in special ways and each of our destiny is different. She took hers in Watertown. Anyone taking it in Watertown, keep your eyes open because they have these mini streets which are not too noticeable what kind of street it is unless you are a very experienced driver or around those who are experienced. Those right turns are tricky after making them. Always stay on the right of the road. I see some comments on here saying Boston has horrible drivers - its like I said two things - they passed because they masked themselves as good drivers and went right back on the road driving back to their old ways OR instructors are passing people left and right. I told my daughter, it's better you fail and feel the pain as oppose to passing and all happy and not remembering the pain you've gone through and allow your happiness to make you forget about your horrible mistake ! This way now when you go and take it again, you aren't just aware of your pain, but your mistake AND YOU WILL BE ONE OF THE SMALL GOOD DRIVERS out there after you get your car. Take care everyone.

Other states might be so lax that Mass. seems difficult when compared.
