You're welcome, thank you!
Definitely a episode I be watching 2 or 3 more time
A another hit.
More coming soon.
I've never tried a makita but have had my dewalt for years now and it does well and no issues however I have burned up the other brands from a Milwaukee to everything they sell at menards and Lowe's. Haven't tried a Bosch so can't comment on them but think I will be getting me a makita to try out
They all work. Just some better than others.
I've watched many of your videos..thank you very much.. I'm just about to venture out on my own.
You've come a long way.
Take his caution VERY seriously with those big 6000rpm grinders. I finally got all my supplies and buffed my steer wheels yesterday. Having never polished before it wasn’t easy to say the least. Evan my man, you make the job look deceivingly easy. A few minutes in and my arms were on fire from holding the beast of a grinder. 20 min later I started getting sloppy and the grinder kicked back and hit my thigh just above the knee and completely buffed the skin right off my damn leg about the size of a large orange. This is the second day and the pain is unexplainable and constant with the wound oozing yellow fluid. Sounds gross? Good, that’s the point so everyone reading this Knows how dangerous this can be. I also have a variable 600-3500 which I’ll be using until I get a very good feel for polishing and I won’t touch the 6000rpm without thick denim from now on. Thanks for the tutorials Evan
Yeh, Im wearing my old welding chaps even when sanding! Got lucky and missed my leg ! It happens so fast you dont even feel it for a few minutes !
Yeah the full speed can make one hell of a mess quickly. That is why I recommend beginners to start with a variable 3500 or less. Even the variable can be dangerous. Hope you are ok and on the mend. I've seen so many bad scenarios over the years.
I do not even use my 6000rpm anymore. Using marpol pink cut bar, or Menzerna 439T for my first cut with a yellow 10" marpool centerless buff does just fine with my 9227c. Now the 6k sits on the shelf since i switched to menzerna and marpool bars
I’m a long haul driver that polishes by hand and am very excited to move to the next step to get a higher shine I can run a corded buffer off my trucks inverter but was seriously looking into the Milwaukee cordless buffer but can’t find any videos talking about how it holds up for this kind of work. I’m worried that it won’t spin fast enough as I advance. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
It spins fast enough but it doesn't have enough torque and dies too quick.
The first time I used the ga7021 I was doing a tank. It caught the edge of the strap and I tapped myself out.
Yeah it happens so fast at that speed.
@No Name Yes it can. We use it all the time.
On the makitas
Can you please tell me what rpm’s match up with the numbers on the dial 1-6?
There should be a tag on the machine showing the rpms in accordance to the dial. If it is a used machine you can look up the model number online and it will tell you the rpms per number setting. I hope this helps.
What do you need and how to attach the blue disk to the grinder?
ke ks an arbor extension and either. 2 nuts or safety flanges.
Thanks for this video you answered all my questions I’ve been using a dewalt 11000rpm for years I’ve really been learning a lot from your videos!! Oh yea I’m from the same town and side of town of Camillionare the rapper north side of HTown Hou,Tx Lol much success to you man!!!
11,000 is way too fast and risky. Much respect to you in the shine game. Shine on my friend.
It's really too fast bro . Too hard to handle
What is your smaller grinder you have there and what is the speed. Thanks.👍
Check out the description check out the links for more information. Thank you for watching.
Greetings Evan, for the variable speed one, since I am new and the buffs I am using have the center, they are not like yours, I need to compare an extension to be able to place and not rose the makita
We sell extensions on our website at www.goshineon.com we also have centerless buff available there.
What is the clamp used to hold the wheel to the buffer machine. Is it something you sell or do I get it from Mikita or Lowe’s or where. Thanks. I enjoy and Like you videos.
The clamp is called a jawhorse amzn.to/2JPW71y here is a link where to buy one.
With 9227c anything else we would need to purchase to attach pads to machine?
eric gibbs if you buy centerless buffs you need the insertable safety flanges. If you buy two ply buff and blend sanding discs you’ll need an arbor extension but nothing else other than that.
Flang usually comes with the pad kits. Thank you very much. Just don't want to be missing anything. I'm knew at this.
can you get to a mirror finish with the 3500rpm ones just taking longer ? or is it only possible with the 6000rpms?
You can definitely get a mirror finish with lower rpms also. It is all about time and heat. You need to build heat to get a mirror. Moving slower at low rpm to build heat is the best way.
Evan. Just piping in to say hello. I've been polishing some things. I have to get my granddaughter to make me a you tube channel so I can send you some pictures. Thank Evan. God bless you
Sorry for the late response. Thank you for watching
Excellent advice
Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
So you would only use the white dommet pad on a 3500 rpm buffer not a 6k buffer? Only use your cut and color pads on 6k?
White pad on a 6,000 rpm is like holding a stick of dynamite in your hand. LOL Yes 2200 rpm or less on the white pads.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing haha okay sounds good. What pad is best for coloring. I currently have a orange and yellow, purple and green, and the white domet pad. The purple green says it’s a secondary cut, so that doesn’t count for coloring right? And the white domet is really only used when wanting a show shine? Or am I wrong.
@@parkerhilton8913 White is primarily show shine yes. I am unfamiliar with the buffs you are using but secondary cut buffs are what I use for color. So whatever your box says I would go with that.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing awesome thanks. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the very informative ideas 👍🏼
@@parkerhilton8913 Glad to help. Thanks for watching.
How can I find the extra thick white pad you have on this video, can't seem to find ot anywhere
Goshineon.Com 40 ply. Thanks for watching.
Hi, I like very much the buffers that you use in this videos, can you send me a link where I can find this one? I would appreciate that thanks.
Hello, I am truly sorry for the late response. You can find these buffs at www.goshineon.com.
What diameter buffs do you use for wheels and fuel tanks?
9 inch
Ridgid 8200 rmp 15amp what I use to cut and color
That is really fast. Just be careful.
I'll knock on wood for ya. May 2018 be full of beautiful shines and no injuries to you and the crew.
Sorry I missed this comment. I appreciate the kindness. Thank you for watching.
Yow
