Ironically, Kung Fu and The Karate Kid. While the Karate Kid is difficult and may take 2-3 hours to beat, it’s just 4 stages and can be beaten in 15-20 mins even if you never played it. Kung Fu has 5 stages and isn’t difficult but can be frustrating at times. But if you’re having trouble with the game, still might take 10-15 more minutes to beat it. If you’re good, it’ll take 5-7 minutes total I still think they both miss the cut on being the shortest games, but they’re both very short.
Great list. Felix The Cat is another very easy and pretty short game. Here's a few more from my games beaten list (keep track of completion times): Golf (complete 18 holes, score doesnt matter) 10 Yard Fight (win a match , took me 21 minutes) Breakthru (25 mins) Caveman Games (shitty, but just participate in every event, score doesnt matter) Commando (a few short stages before it loops) Donkey Kong Classics (a complilation with two of the easy games shown in the video) Exerion (24 minutes) All 3 Fisher Price games (super simple) Ikari 3 and Guerilla War (no consequences for death, respawn where you died) Rampage (same thing, respawn where you died basically but takes a little while and is tedious, not super short) Mickeys Adventure In Numberland Mickeys Safari in Letterland North Vs. South (3 minutes, but it helps to look up a speed run) Othello (win a match but this can take a while) Remote Control (17 minutes. May be a trivia game so can use a tablet or phone) Renegade (short) Pinbot (get a certain score to win. not too bad) Rescue The Embassy Mission All 3 Sesame Street Games Ski or Die (just participate in all events) Spot The Video Game (took me 3 mins first time playing) Spy Hunter (4 mins, game loops after winter background) Wheres Waldo (different waldo game than the video) All 4 Wheel Of Fortune games (25-30 mins each) Win Lose or Draw (6 mins) Xenophobe (max out the score, very easy game) Winter Games (just participate in all events) Wizards And Warriors (almost no penalty for death, theres one slightly tricky platforming section at the very end) World Games (participate) Double Dare (Believe it was a quickie. Think you can fail the final challenge and still win) Yie Ar Kung Fu (save state practice on each opponent is helpful, then put it together legit. Weird ass controls, but just find the exploits for each foe) Wurm (remember this being very easy) I left out some sports games, Japanese games, unlicensed games. Also avoided games that may be short but are difficult. Some games I used glitches to beat quickly like Ghostbusters and Home Alone, which I have tutorials up for on the channel. I went through my list of 228 beaten NES,Famicom games. Some older KILLS I dont have times documented since this was well before recording was easy to do. So there is games I dont remember how long they took. If anyone is KILL hunting I can offer more info for ALL platforms as my main focus is high volume completions and filling out what I call the KILL LIST.
Oh absolutely. The only reason I doubled down on making videos the way I do, is because what I wanted to see on RUclips, wasn't there. So I said "fuck it, I'll do it".
Popeye was the very first NES game I played. Before I even had an NES, I played it on a setup they had in the middle of Walmart. Had no idea what the hell I was doing, but I was hooked on games for life.
I hear conflicting stories about it, where the toy was made in response to the movie, where the game is based on the movie, where they have nothing to do with any of them, it's hard.
@@Fortefyre I remember the game, the movie and the guns, and I remember the commercials for them (print for game) and I swear it was guns, movie then game.
Gotcha! The Sport was actually a toy tie-in from Galoob. It was "paintball" for kids. Low velocity rubber bits with waxy crap in a "magazine" loaded into a dayglo gun. The cartridges typically dried up before you could use them.
I dunno, I kinda feel like arcade ports are naturally excluded. Yes, they fall under the description of the video, but I’m thinking of titles that maybe Nintendo Power got you excited for, you buy it, and beat it the same day. Just found your videos, and will be going though them at some point. The NES was my second system (after the Intellivision).
That's a great take, and I believe you are right. I want to do a series that focuses on the Nintendo Power issues, I think that would be a cool callback.
I feel like if you’re gonna have King of the Ring, Tag Team Wrestling should be on here too as you can beat it in about 10 minutes if you’re good at it
I feel that Donkey Kong 3 does not begin to repeat itself until after you have faced off against all the different enemy types, somewhere between Stage 12 and 15, making it much longer to complete, even if credits don't ever roll.
The first game I beat in a few hours was the game that came with my NES Tetris. But that just counting the 1 to 9 levels and 1 to 5 height. The other one when I got very good I could get over 500 lines. Now if you look up Tetris you see that someone truly beat it because he made the game crash.

Recently I got curious and looked up a speed run of the game. Apparently it can be beaten in under 20 minutes if you don’t mind damage boosting.
I remember here in Germany the sport was called gotcha before the paintball fad/trend started. Don't know if there was a toy line named like that here.

I got an Atari 2600 as a little kid in 1984, a couple years after it came out. The first game I played was Pitfall, and it was awesome. Then I tried Mario Bros, and Donkey Kong, and I turned out to be one of those early gamers.
Thought Cybernoid would be here for sure. It’s a fun space shooter from Acclaim with a bunch of cool weapons, but the game contains only three levels, and they can be completed in roughly ten minutes.
NES Monopoly: vs 1 CPU on the easiest difficulty it’s possible to win in under a minute with a little dice luck and exploiting the AI’s stupidity. The world record speedrun is about 36 seconds! The “shortest” games that I owned were Skate or Die and Excitebike (I count beating level 5 as “completing” it because after that you just repeat the level 5 track infinitely until you lose), but funny enough the shortness never bothered me. I just found both of those to be fun “pick up and play” titles for a few minutes of fun or (in Skate or Die’s case) a quick head-to-head with a friend.
Marble madness was like 5 levels all scoring time from a 60 second clock... all arcade titles to me are like thee longest games ever often over 100 levels
That's a great choice too. Many folks shit on Karate Kid, but honestly, it isn't bad, the hitboxes are a tad janky, but once you understand how to play it, it's worth a shake.
Oh and btw Gotcha wasn’t based on the film. Gotcha was an actual game played on college campuses in the 70’s and 80’s and was even an Atari game in the 70’s as well.

Defender of the crown. WR 2:17. Even casual is under 10 minutes. Like wasting time casual. Watch the record run. You just move fast, don't buy anything after your first puchase, use "bombard, and your done. Eazy peezy.
I hear ya, but, the speed run isn't filled with anything that anyone can't do. It's akin to being Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl. I'm only telling you this for your videos, and not to be argumentative, honest. The reality is, as you will see if you do attempt to play it logically, and you should do that first, is that playing it in the most fun way is not only incredibly fast as well, but the worst way to win. Because the speed runner does NOT play it logically. He simple takes advantage of two macanics. One, you can seek help from Robin Hood in the forest, and two, if you have a catapult, and click bombard in fights, then you can just plow ahead and defeat everyone right off the bat. But either way, the game really can't go past 10 minutes unless your wasting your own time. Good luck, have fun, no need to reply. Your awesome. Keep up the good work. 👍

It's a great game too! Karate kid would have likely made it, the hitboxes are FIENDS though.
Love the 8bit chiptuned version of Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five” in Chess Master at 4:42
Haha, I didn't even realize it!
Surprised Marble Madness wasn't included. It doesn't take long to figure out the controls and you'll finish it in 5-7 minutes every time.
That's a solid title as well!
I feel bad about myself now - I couldnt pass like the 4th or 5th level - ever
Great list. Felix The Cat is another very easy and pretty short game. Here's a few more from my games beaten list (keep track of completion times):
Golf (complete 18 holes, score doesnt matter)
10 Yard Fight (win a match , took me 21 minutes)
Breakthru (25 mins)
Caveman Games (shitty, but just participate in every event, score doesnt matter)
Commando (a few short stages before it loops)
Donkey Kong Classics (a complilation with two of the easy games shown in the video)
Exerion (24 minutes)
All 3 Fisher Price games (super simple)
Ikari 3 and Guerilla War (no consequences for death, respawn where you died)
Rampage (same thing, respawn where you died basically but takes a little while and is tedious, not super short)
Mickeys Adventure In Numberland
Mickeys Safari in Letterland
North Vs. South (3 minutes, but it helps to look up a speed run)
Othello (win a match but this can take a while)
Remote Control (17 minutes. May be a trivia game so can use a tablet or phone)
Renegade (short)
Pinbot (get a certain score to win. not too bad)
Rescue The Embassy Mission
All 3 Sesame Street Games
Ski or Die (just participate in all events)
Spot The Video Game (took me 3 mins first time playing)
Spy Hunter (4 mins, game loops after winter background)
Wheres Waldo (different waldo game than the video)
All 4 Wheel Of Fortune games (25-30 mins each)
Win Lose or Draw (6 mins)
Xenophobe (max out the score, very easy game)
Winter Games (just participate in all events)
Wizards And Warriors (almost no penalty for death, theres one slightly tricky platforming section at the very end)
World Games (participate)
Double Dare (Believe it was a quickie. Think you can fail the final challenge and still win)
Yie Ar Kung Fu (save state practice on each opponent is helpful, then put it together legit. Weird ass controls, but just find the exploits for each foe)
Wurm (remember this being very easy)
I left out some sports games, Japanese games, unlicensed games.
That's a wonderful list, and an even better offer!
@@Fortefyre Any time brother. The expertise shows in the video. Too many generic parrots on the platform, ha ha.
Oh absolutely. The only reason I doubled down on making videos the way I do, is because what I wanted to see on RUclips, wasn't there. So I said "fuck it, I'll do it".
@@Fortefyre Great to see that. I always appreciate genuine content.
There is no conveyor level in the NES version of donkey Kong, which makes it even shorter
I didnt remember if it had it or not.
Memory constraints of early NES cartridges Forcef Nintendo to remove the conveyor level
Why is Double Dribble featured on the video cover, but not in the video itself?
Because I store my games horizontal and it was just easier to grab it.
Huh??? Games that loop are short? So he thinks Pac-Man ends after the first level? Geesh
Is it on this list?
Ah… I thought Adventures in Magic Kingdom was going to be on this list! Great game, btw!
It ALMOST made it.
Popeye was the very first NES game I played. Before I even had an NES, I played it on a setup they had in the middle of Walmart. Had no idea what the hell I was doing, but I was hooked on games for life.
I was shocked at how fun it is lol
Jaws is a very short game that has an actual ending! I think I can beat it around 10 minutes.
It does, and it's stupid fun lol
Gotcha! was a line of toy "paintball"-like guns. That's what the game was based on, not the movie.
Any zapper game is worth a go
I do remember this one. I sucked
Probably was!
MARBLE MADNESSS! 4:32 seconds.
It's a great game!
Just subscribed. First video. Great video - short n' sweet. Keep up the great work! I'm almost 50, my first system was an Atari 2600.
I'll be hitting on those at some point, I look forward to hearing about your memories of that era!
Gotcha! The Sport was actually a toy tie-in from Galoob. It was "paintball" for kids. Low velocity rubber bits with waxy crap in a "magazine" loaded into a dayglo gun. The cartridges typically dried up before you could use them.
Oh no! Seems about par for the course for a faddish kids toy lol.
You got Where's Waldo, but The Great Waldo Search is also very short. It's better looking and sounding on SNES though.
From what I recall in playing it, it's alot slower than great waldo search.
I feel like if you’re gonna have King of the Ring, Tag Team Wrestling should be on here too as you can beat it in about 10 minutes if you’re good at it
That's true! I almost made it an honorable mention.
I feel that Donkey Kong 3 does not begin to repeat itself until after you have faced off against all the different enemy types, somewhere between Stage 12 and 15, making it much longer to complete, even if credits don't ever roll.
That is a good point!
The first game I beat in a few hours was the game that came with my NES Tetris. But that just counting the 1 to 9 levels and 1 to 5 height. The other one when I got very good I could get over 500 lines.
Now if you look up Tetris you see that someone truly beat it because he made the game crash.
As for the game Chess it was the NES Battle Chess that taught me how to play.
Yeah that kid is epic!
Marble Madness, Karate Kid, Kung Fu, heck, even the OG SMB. All can be beat in under 10 minutes.
They can be beat if you REALLY know what your doing, I approach these with native playing, games that you don't have direct experience with playing.
Definitely should have groped all the looping games together as one to be able to include games like Jaws.
I can do that for future videos. Thanks for the idea!
I for one am happy there was no groping of multiple games.
I was expecting Treasure Island Dizzy here.
So I purposefully skipped unlicensed titles. I might do a followup to this for unlicensed games.
One short game I loved was DK Jr Math. The one v one mode led to some intense (incredibly nerdy) battles.
Oh man lol. Imagine the intense battle with two ultra nerds LOL
Color A Dinosaur... although if you want to properly 100% color it in, including using all of the colors, I guess it could actually take a while.
I would rather tap dance on a minefield lmao.
I was enjoying this with my kids in the room. I'll make sure I wear earbuds if I ever come back
I've toyed with the idea of remaking my videos under a "family friendly" moniker that way those with littles can enjoy my content with them. I'm a military veteran, it's a hard linguistic habit to break!
@@Fortefyre RUclips is a crapshoot, you're definitely not the only one.
FWIW, I don't think it adds anything to your content. Your videos would be just as good, and you might hit a broader audience.
I wouldn't say the same thing about AVGN 😅
Haha, I know.
I remember Maniac Mansion being really short once you knew what to do. My fave characters were Bernard and Michael because they had the best music, Michael's especially. They just get down NES style.
Yeah if we take out the human nature of discovery almost all games would be over in a flash lol.
I used to stream Taboo and explain my viewer's fortunes.
That's kind of awesome though!
Marble madness was the first in my head when seeing this video. Very short.
Chock to the brim with some god tier time pressure lol.
Did you ever beat the game?
Yep.
A couple of very short platformers are Karate Kid & Karnov.
And it's funny because if the programming was a little bit better they would be wonderful games on the console.
Hans and his buzzing booty beads lol…. Good video
🤣🤣🤣 thank you!
Well sir you just got yourself a new subscriber!! I’ve loved your videos. I remember playing donkey kong jr as a kid when you could rent them from the local video store. I always wondered how it ended lol I didn’t get why it looped endlessly as a child
Welcome aboard!
When I was a kid I fell off the bleachers during one of my older brother’s baseball games and broke my arm. My aunt bought me Mickey Mouse Escapade for the NES from Big Bee Drugstore as a get well present. I played it for hours, but I could never beat it. Recently I got curious and looked up a speed run of the game. Apparently it can be beaten in under 20 minutes if you don’t mind damage boosting.
Yep! It almost made the list! Haha
I always thought Gotcha! was based off of the toy line
Nope, random comedy film lol.
It was. Washable ink squirt guns.
I remember here in Germany the sport was called gotcha before the paintball fad/trend started. Don't know if there was a toy line named like that here.
@@maxheadroom22and26 The toys where more or less paintball guns. The ammo would be on a disk cartridge and about as powerful as a NERF gun.
Ok I have to think all at once I was thinking a good list is NES games you can be in under 24 hours and 12 hours after you played them a few times.
Or NES games you played so often you can play in you sleep or flying the spaceship to Mars
😊😊
Isn't that this? lmao
I thought this was a brand new game you just opened and beat it in 30 minutes or less.
I loved Taboo. Memory unlocked
You're the few and the proud lmao :p
@@Fortefyre It was fake nostalgia. I had forgotten all about that game until I heard the music because I remember spending some time with it at a friends house. Did not meet my expectations, God, I hope Rescue Embassy Mission isn't the same :/
@@TheUsualSuspekt I mean, rescue is a great game, it's just REALLY short.
I got an Atari 2600 as a little kid in 1984, a couple years after it came out. The first game I played was Pitfall, and it was awesome. Then I tried Mario Bros, and Donkey Kong, and I turned out to be one of those early gamers.
And thus your life changed forever! That's awesome to hear!
The path of legends
Thought Cybernoid would be here for sure. It’s a fun space shooter from Acclaim with a bunch of cool weapons, but the game contains only three levels, and they can be completed in roughly ten minutes.
Yikes! That's a quickie!
Learning the enemies' patterns and figuring out which weapons you need to use where was a nightmare for me, personally.
I remember renting Taboo because everything else good was gone. What a giant letdown that was. Worst $2.49 we’d ever spent.
Oh no! Haha
Home Alone. Run away from the robbers for 20 mins and that's it. Games over you win. No point in replay as nothing changes
And it sucks the whole time haha
Marble madness. Hard as hell but only like four levels.
Interesting!
6 levels
Classic video. I had 3 donkey kongs and. Popeye. It was worth it. I still find myself playing with my buddies. Great memories and solid games
Absolutely!
The 8-bit 'Take 5' on Chess just made my day.
Absolutely!
Marble madness was like 5 levels all scoring time from a 60 second clock... all arcade titles to me are like thee longest games ever often over 100 levels
That does make sense!
Urban Champion loops after a couple of rounds
Does it? I didn't realize that.
@@Fortefyre yep and it was awful. I received it for Christmas as a kid. long nothing lol
This has been the best poop I've taken in a while. Thanks
You bet! I hope to continue to provide you with further regulatory entertainment while you occupy the porcelain throne!
Great video with some good choices. I always reach for Karate Kid when I want a quick and easy play-through.
That's a great choice too. Many folks shit on Karate Kid, but honestly, it isn't bad, the hitboxes are a tad janky, but once you understand how to play it, it's worth a shake.
@@Fortefyre I totally agree. Never understood the hate for it. It's actually one of my favorite games, has been for decades.
Remember Solstice? I remember that game being long, but speed runs go crazy.
The title screen alone is worth it's weight in gold.
Zen: Intergalactic Ninja is also a relatively short game and can be beaten in less than 30 minutes start to finish.
Not to mention it's rather expensive as well, at least nowadays.
Donkey Kong 3 is one of my favorite games. It's so addictively fun.
I actually need to play it lol.
Well, I definitely belong here. - *subscribed*
Welcome aboard!
Oh and btw Gotcha wasn’t based on the film. Gotcha was an actual game played on college campuses in the 70’s and 80’s and was even an Atari game in the 70’s as well.
Interesting!
Defender of the Crown is very short if you know the strategy. Success!!
I've wanted to check that out.
@@Fortefyre its great game i love it. There's like 4 or 5 ways to reach your goal.
For me, the shortest game was Dynowarz. I beat it in 1 hour or so. Not a great investment.
I just bought that too lol
Speaking of donkey Kong 64; I finally completed it two months ago. That rabbit and beetle can't brag to me anymore. Ha!
Yes! Congrats! How did you enjoy it?
Wraith of the Black Manta and Fester's Quest are both games I finished in one day. In fact I finshed Fester's Quest in two hours. I was disappointed by how short it was.
Really?!? That game is notoriously difficult. I’m in the presence of gaming royalty 🫅
@@pharmcat8484yeah I call BS
Damn! Lol
Well, I will admit I did use an NES Advantage Joystick controller,I found using that made me play NES games a lot better then the standard Control Pad controllers. I use to call the NES Advantage my "secret weapon"!
Rescue the ambasady mission is also a short game with only 3 levels,
Now about nes donkeykong, that version has only 3 levels,it also feels very meager compared to the arcade version with no intro and no intermission screens etc,,,
I almost added Rescue as well, it's stupid short.
There are shorter games than millipede you ignored educational titles including sesame street titles or Donkey Kong Jr Math that is even shorter than donkeykong junior.
I stated that I would not be putting games that lack inherent substance, which to me, educational games lack it.
I wanted where's Waldo because I was in a where's Waldo kick in the early 90s but was disappointed when she said she'd only rent it for me. Let's say that within 30 minutes of bringing it home I was glad that it had only been rented
Unfortunately the game has ZERO reolayability lol. She could have brought home taboo :P
Mario 2 is super easy and short. The first time I played it I didn’t die even once. The original Powerblade is easy too. Less than an hour gameplay.
Great games!
Spy Hunter - never ended. Continues as a loop. Game Genie taught me that.
This is true! I might make another episode that has rules that exclude arcade titles.
So you already played The Great Waldo Search ^^ Told ya it wasn't much of a challenge :D
:)
A boy and his blob if you know how to find the ending without beating the game
That's a tough little game too!
Defender of the crown. WR 2:17. Even casual is under 10 minutes. Like wasting time casual. Watch the record run. You just move fast, don't buy anything after your first puchase, use "bombard, and your done. Eazy peezy.
Good choice! I don't account for speedruns though, only native plays.
Shortest game that I have found is the bad ending for Pirates. Less than a few seconds.
Facts. Lmao. I love pirates!
ACTION 52 - most games can be completed in 1-4min :)
If they even load lmao
@@Fortefyre True XD
