Hi Dave, I always mention the Lexus ES to friends who find the Toyota Avalon too rough on the eyes.
I own this exact vehicle and can tell you it's a great car. Plenty of room, superb combination of handling and ride comfort (although I find the driver's seat uncomfortably hard after a while), library quiet, fully equipped, and more interesting styling than ever before. It drives more like an Accord than an old ES, without the harshness and noise of the Honda. I will say that mine was built in the U.S. and is NOT built as well as the ES I had that was made in Japan (squeaks, condensation inside, noisy moonroof) and will probably not buy it when my lease is up.

could not agree more. almost every cat tho starts to feel hard after a while when you are driving long distance and back problems or any type of body problems is the cause most likey.
This car is a grand slam for it's _intended purpose._ I have one, and it's incredible to live with every day. SO easy to drive, so quiet and smooth, the miles seriously melt away. I get OVER 40 mpg, EVEN cruising at or near 80 mph. It's crazy. The STANDARD safety features (adaptive cruise, lane-keep, blind spot monitor, auto-emergency braking) make it a great choice.
Agreed! It is what it is and it’s perfect in doing so. I’ve just reviewed one and it’s not the funnest car or out there but it is comfortable to drive and a pleasure

Bigger than the LS500 back there.
Not bigger than an LS back there. But it is a very comfortable car.
The GS was a better build and more soft leather finish, while the ES is larger all round
yes, that is why I will never sell my GS Lexus sedan.

I makes a change to see a review of a lexus, without it being compared to German cars. We have an IS300h and
would look at a later IS300h, or an ES When it comes to replacing it. In three years, the only fault I've had, was a spark plug.
I want a v8 es. To do my part for the environment
The car shopping does not work in Toronto Canada
They should make this into a phev to increase fuel efficiency to 60mpg
How much will the batteries cost to replace in a few years I wonder. Maybe so much that no one will want to buy it second hand.
I was watching a video on that topic the other day. They said that the hybrid battery, if maintained well, especially the air filter for the battery, will last over 200K miles. The cost to eventually replace the battery would be around $3K.
@@411sponge72 Maybe in a few years $3,000 might do it but I think at the moment it might be more like $5,000. But might depend on the make of car.
@@aussie8114 yeah you might be right. The video that I saw was the replacement cost for a Camry. Lexus might be more expensive. Look up The Car Care Nut. A lot of good info there! 👍
@@aussie8114 Just got a response back from the Lexus dealership inquiring about the battery. You are correct, its a little over $5,000 😥
@@411sponge72 Doesn’t surprise me. I suspect most things to do with Lexus service and repairs are not cheap, though supposed to be reliable so over time the costs should be reasonable. Probably just need to be mindful buying second hand if it’s a hybrid factoring in the battery replacement.

I have to say in the flesh they look a lot better than in video however if you compare it to the previous version it’s miles better! I’ve just done a review on a 2015 vs the 2021 and it’s almost incomparable!

MsRose00 my daughter’s 2015 Sonata has over 100k on it and has been completely reliable. No work needed besides basic maintenance.
