Try explaining this fight to someone with no context of the situation... "So you're in space, on this giant whale, and then the earth turns into a Death Star cannon and shoots a beam of light at you and blasts you into a galaxy, then you explode into a black hole."
The moment the stars appeared I’m like “Oh it’s like Omega.” Then the floor starts turning into that symbol with the cool ass colors, then goes transparent, then it pulls a Alexander Prime, where the small version inside of itself spawns the big one inside of itself, then the planet shoots laser beams that shoot you into a galaxy, and the galaxy explodes WHAT THE FUCK? I LOVE THE ABSURDITY
Edit: this track was arranged by Daiki Ishikawa, not Soken. Soken is so damn good at making the second loop of the remix sound so fresh after the first one, it's really fantastic and makes it worth listening to relatively short songs on repeat.
Yea i felt the same way about the the ff6 boss music in sigmascape...cuts the organs and bass guitar for some sweet baby grand action...i'm such a sucker for those sort of things since they could have been lazy about it like the original game...which felt very much out of place btw...
The loop clocks in about 3 mins o_o so, yeah, really suited for the many times you'll be spending here, my main gripe with Omega 1-5 is that the boss music got old reallll fast, but nope, not with Eden.
Yes, the love letter description is so well on point. If Ultimecia's Castle happens as a huge raid and the ability disable mechanic (Limit, Healing etc.) until you beat bosses appears too, I'd go mental lol
Eternal Breath is perfect I'm so happy. My group had never played ff8 before so they had no idea why I was so excited when the animation started and they weren't ready for it
I didn't play FF8 before doing this in 14, but I am still looking at it with a sense of nostalgia, since it was the first savage fight I ever progressed in a static
Maybe it’s late and I’m loopy but watching the Eternal Breath transition I noticed when the Roman numerals are turning it stops with “VIII” in view and it looks like it lights up as it fires. Maybe a nice little nod eh? 🤔😁 Love this arrangement too!
Yeah and no, I use a Mouse Over macro so I can free up a hot-bar for something more useful. As he is essentially moving his mouse over there and its a macro. Might as well have a macro that uses the Mouse over feature which will use the card on whoever the mouse is hovered over and only requires 1 button. Just means less button bloat.

When we first left and were driving through the desert and the FFVIII world music started playing I didn’t notice at first. It kinda seeped into my bones then I realized what it was. LOVE IT SO MUCH

What's funny is I'm still no more aware of what's actually supposed to be happening in it than when it was rendered in PS1 graphics are 480p - apparently Eden turns the planet into a clock, fires the enemy off into space, and explodes another galaxy? Am... am I on the right track?
This is a fantastic arrangement, and I super enjoy it. I just wish they'd kept the same percussion track from the original. That was what really made the tune for me.

Between the history of the real Shiva and her willing joining with Hrasvelgyr, and the summoner's memories of her host, Shiva might actually end up an ally that's willing to help defeat Ifrit and then after willingly let LAD Warrior kill her to return life to the world.

Final Fantasy VIII might be my favorite boss theme in the series, and this remake is a huge upgrade. 5/5 would recommend.
