So here we are pretty much at the end of 2022 and this was 8 years ago and it still hits the same every time. What a song, what a band!
I keep coming back. So good.

Here we are its 2024, this came out 9 years ago and I still come back to listen on the regular and send it to everyone.
This is one of my absolute favourite like a versions and I wish it was on Spotify so it could be in my regular play list instead of just on you tube.

Who cares if Karnivool is popular or not. There are a few hundred thousand people all across the world who have mad respect and love for this Band. Thats"s more than enough fo these guys to keep making Music as they like.

Easily one of the most underrated Like A Versions out there. This is exactly what the essence of a cover should be - staying true to the original while being undeniably Karnivool. I've voted for this in the Hottest 100 of the decade in 2020.

@@user-qb9lo1sk9z The format on triple J (Australian radio network) is such that you're supposed to cover a song yet make it your own. Some artists do this better than others.
Lizard King yes, I agree. However, there are no restrictions or rules which a cover must conform to - contrary to what the original comment suggests. Though, this is completely based on subjectivity.

They still haven't blown up here in the US and I find it ridiculous.
but I have been listening to them for 10 years. My son and my nephew and I discovered them one day, they've been in my top two or three favorite bands of all time ever since. Magical band. Seem like a bunch of great guys too.

But you can't really say that KARNIVOOL is not popular, they are huge in places all around the world. And of course, particularly in Australia.
Probably the greatest band to come out of Australia just ahead of Dead Can Dance. Sound Awake is one of the greatest modern rock albums of the past 20 years.

Hannah's vocals on the original should not be taken head, on such an incredible talent. Yet this version is so great. Easily my favorite one.

Karnivool has been one of my favorite bands since I discovered them in 2013. I literally just discovered London Grammar and this song last night. Just so happened to look up vocal covers of it a minute ago and this was the first video. Incredible. Both versions are absolutely haunting.

Rilkey Brond I love Sleeping Satellite because it sounds so Karnivool, and yet it isn't even Kenny singing. Come to think of it, it wasn't even the current drummer on the drums. Plus it is just awesome.
Fuck yeah dude, its actually Hoss on vocals and he absolutely slays it! The drums were probably Drew because he did all the drums for Themata and thats when it was recorded and you can tell, all the insturments have that Themata era sound.
Couldn't agree more! Ian's other band Birds of Tokyo did an amazing cover of I Heard it Through the Grapevine...and they did it exactly how that song should have been written. :)

Jesus christ, as soon as I heard that they were covering this song on my radio on my morning drive, I did like a silent scream and double fist to the air, it did not disappoint, absolutely mesmerising, so so so damn good

Beautiful. Done in such understated good taste. I came to Karnivool through Rick Beato, whose imprimatur signifies just that. Regardless of sales figures, there will always be room in the world for dazzling musicianship, original interpretation and songwriting that pierces the soul.

This song is such a beautiful and powerful song by London Grammer. I remember actually saying to my wife one day "this song would be so perfect for Karnivool to cover". I then later found out that Karnviool did this cover of it to which I was shocked that I guessed a song so suited to them. The first few times I heard it I didn't think it was quite as good as the original but now, after hearing it over 50 times, it is incredible. London Grammer have created something brilliant here but for me, this song belongs to Karnivool.
From hearing Good Lord by BOT it sounds like Ian had used the song for his wedding song too, fantastic choice
well,I discovered this cover as it released and thought it's good but not reaching the original. Now some years later I picked it up again and tried to find out if it's just my love for the band or if it's objectivley just like I think. And objectivley said I love this version by far more than the original! This is an excellent cover!

The layers in this song are so much bigger and better in Karnivool's version.
The soul of Karnivool, especially the bass, kicks in at 3:09
Gotta say though, Karnivool at their most vulnerable is beautiful. Will be interesting if they experiment on that sound on their next album. It worked perfectly with Change Pt1, Medicine Wears Off and Float

Where I work we make the pre-amp in the acoustic guitar used in this clip. Sounds great! As does the rest. Triple J do such a good job with the mix for these like a Versions.
