Find it odd that you've just uploaded this review but not updated the device to the latest version nor mentioned updates at all. It's had two updates since the version you're showing (077). First to 087 and the latest to 108. For example, it's now added email and MS docx files (read only for now but will be updated in near future - Kindle app and text conversion in the pipeline). Personally believe that customer service and frequent updates are important selling points, or it was for me.
EMR is king. It's just a shame that all the good build quality styluses don't have erasers or often two side buttons. The older and the new cheap styluses often have both.
Looks like different manufactures perfected in different areas, so what makes a perfect E reader come note taking device, my thoughts - complete android and a minimum quadcore chip and 2gb of RAM, (like the onyx ones) - A 10 inch screen size , with the rubber coating, compatible with wide variety of 3rd party wacom pens(as in the supernote) - An included metallic pen with a double head and cap(one more like a pencil as in the remarkble supports shading, other head like a pen in the supernote, ie ceramic and replaceable), also with a middle erase and highlight buttons. - magnetic snap like in remarkable. - the high refresh mode and back-light that increases the use cases as a secondary monitor. - back cover support as like in this supernote. - both pinch to zoom and pressure sensitivity support, system wide contrast control, bluetooth, inbuilt speakers, type c, fast charging, high capacity battery, moderately slim profile, well built. - At last within the $500 price tag, this will be a perfect device fore me.. Did I miss anything...
@@davidgordon9988 , Onyx Boox Note Air has pretty much all of the points listed by Akshay C. It is about to be released, but you can preorder it. I am going to get one as well because it can be a major help for my studies.
Good latency, good calibration for the accuracy. Short distance to actual "screen". Width of rM2, I.e. 4-5 mm. Overall, there is no perfect device. It depends every time on a specific use case.
We use eink pad for note taking and for reading text (email and documents). Without the email function, or without the ability to retrieve documents on google drive or other file storages, it is hard to justify the price. It is expensive for a manufacture to develop the operation system for its eink pad. Why not just to use the Android OS? With Android OS, we can do a lot more by downloading apps.
Peter you have a great voice - it is not tiring at all nor does it put people to sleep - which really is an issue at this point @ some sites. Your information and presentation is very well prepped and good even your music. But, I think it's time to take a look at some hand lotion. Have a great day. Great Job!
I really like your reviews, guys, but you almost always omit one piece of information that is really important for me (and I'd guess for quite a few other people too): DICTIONARY CAPABILITIES. Does it have them? If so, how does it work? It'd be great to know that. Anyways - thanks for the review :)
Can it be used with a Bluetooth keyhoard? Also I really want something like this that I can use as a PDA with diary and contact functions? Is this possible?
Great video. Let me ask you. I have to fill out my passport application and I want to know if with this device I can hand write my name, last name, address, and all the answers required in this kind of application. When I do it on paper, I usually drop coffee on it, or misplaced it, and have to download the application again, etc. I would rather fill it out electronically and then printed when it is all complete. Can I do it?
I would stay away from the a6x as super note has essentially fallen off the radar when it comes to market share The gap between supernote and other devices is so huge that there's no reason to buy supernote anymore
@@goodereader which one do you see superior in terms of handwriting? I've been searching reviews for sometime and still looks like actual writing paper-like experience is very very good for the supernote but newer versions, although I've not experienced it myself
Yes, super note devices are notoriously some of the slowest devices around They're Pen latency is not terrible, but the device itself is very 10 years ago, kind of feeling.
The terrible issue of this device is a huge lag of writing. This cannot be a note taking device. And it does not have any useful application. Former generations of iPad (not iPad Pro) are much better in terms of writing response. You cannot pretest this device since they do not have any retail store. It can be only purchased through Chinese website. It will come through DHL. It is not refundable without extra charge (You will be charged DHL fee, repackaging fee, and reimport tax for Chinese government). It will take 30 sec to realize that you wasted money, but it is too late. Some good comments here might be written by the company. Remember, they are providing their device for reviews even though RUclips channels reviewing E-ink devices are very limited and not popular.
You can tell that it is a total piece of trash. I mean seriously hand writing recognition that doesn't recognize spaces?? What a fudging joke! And then Once it recognizes the text you can't do anything with it ! LOL . And it's almost certainly got a Connection back to China embedded in it. Never keep any sensitive data on it!!! I'm sorry you had to waste Your money on it. If anyone is searching for a good writing tablet, you can't go wrong with the Microsoft surface 4 or 7 or the pro. The surface 4 is great and only about $600 now. It's what I'm using now to write this comment and the text recognition is 98% or better.
Get an iPad if you need a jack of all trades. If you need a good digital notepad (and frankly if you can afford to have multiple devices) get this. Really enjoying mine and fits right into my workflow. Writing is responsive and accurate, pen is comfortable, screen is legible and easy on the eyes. Software experience can use some work, but this review already is very much out of date and the developer seems to be very active in improving software.
guys can u really start reviewing the actual note taking experience ?

They are lackluster reviewers. So many things are wrong in that review.
Super excited to keep watching your content even i can't afford it 😂

Size. 10 inches is too small in my opinion. But you nailed everything else.
Perfect! Where do I buy? :)

by not having replaceable nibs, does it mean you have to replace the screen protectors instead?
Great vídeo! The ceramic nip is good but what is the real life span?
Does the wifi now allow connection to PEAP wifi (as most University/institutional wifi are), or is wifi connection limited to home wifi setups?
I ve read on reddit they are planning of adding that in a future update. They were talking about October so maybe is there already!
How are the annotations and highlights exported? Is it as a PDF?
It is a .mark which is a custom extension by them and doesn't associate it with the pdf. However; you can screenshot the stuff for yourself.
Can it be used with a Bluetooth keyhoard?

Does the drawing app have graph paper and options like square size etc?
Writting seems good.
Is a supernote waterproof? 🤔
is this a replacement for my kindle? can I write on my kindle book?
How are the software updates on this ? Can we expect something like iOS?
Is it too small to use?
can this run or work with Microsoft OneNote?
Great hardware, awful and sluggish software. I don't understand all that praise only because they make nice pens.
Sonit can't zoom in zoom out?
Stepping stones.
"It doesn't look like anything else on the market"... To me it looks exactly like the remarkable version 1.
@goodereader , can i ask your opinion ,kindle paperwhite 2 or kindke 8th generation , where do you prefer to choose ?
Doesn't look like anything on the market? It is a direct copy of the remarkable tablet.
100% not at all.
damn it's so slow tho, I'm insanely impatient that I think i'll just use a pen and paper

Over €600, wtf.
No backlight. Deal breaker.
thats right :(
Ratta can be a badword in portuguese 😂 but is only with a “t”
Note taking review but you never just take notes with it...
Did you even watch the video? He was shown writing and drawing loads of times.
