I loved your content at first Brian, because you were never afraid to think outside of the box and made unapologetic content supporting the entire queer community. 17:25 What exactly was he trying to say here? Did he think that just because these studies were conducted and affirmed decades ago that a notoriously discriminatory country would just halt in their tracks just like that? As the country progressed so did acceptance and further studies which is why we can come to our conclusion. The point so silly. Also, 19:36 I find it so crazy how she's saying it's getting disrespectful when she's been insulting his knowledge and intelligence this whole time, he's right for not affirming her baseless and incorrect statements, or as she calls them "opinions"
17:56 He's conflating what was considered effeminating for men in Ancient Rome to what's considered effeminating for me NOW. Obviously, it's not the same so this point is also flawed
@@anunwantedsoul3672 the point is that what is considered effeminate is malleable and changes over time, thats why I reference a broad span of time. Even things like crop tops/midriffs and tight clothing have gone through eras of being masc or fem, what is considered for a specific gender can easily be formed into something for the other or to be genderless. The conditions of what defines gender is cultural and malleable and naturally shifts as culture does.
To the people in the comments section talking about gender and sex: why do you sound so sure of yourself? Maybe one day we'll find an even better definition of gender. I hate how you'll call conservatives ignorant for not understanding these concepts when we're the ones that are meant to define them. And our understanding of gender can change anyway.
It's unbelievably frustrating to have a gay person actually "moderating" something like this. If you can even call it that. It almost makes me feel like you/Brian actually agree with this transphobic rhetoric. As a queer person yourself you should have stepped in, or cut this bs out entirely. It's in no way professional or a well balanced video. I don't understand the point of always asking cis people about trans people. 99% of the time they are uneducated and end up just talking made up facts they read on the Internet from transphobic people. More shocking is the absolute embarrassment I feel for the lesbians who clearly have zero knowledge about queer history and their own bubble. Not even one of them daring to stand up for their community is straight up fucked. Either way, guy showed more sense of community, pride, love and education than anyone else in this video. Imo this video should be taken down and some serious education has to happend for Brian, so he can actually do his job. A moderator doesn't just make jokes and asks questions. Moderators should step in and guide a civil conversations, they should be educated enough to point out misinformation and step it. Which did not happend at all.
Hey! Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate your eloquence and civility in your criticism. I always try to let people share what they think because I think it is interesting to hear someone who is put in a box express an idea, experience, or opinion that the rest of us may not expect. I also strive to keep conversations as respectful as possible while letting people do this, which is definitely a challenge! In this case, I do think it got out of hand and I also would never want people watching these videos to feel like less than. That being said I've taken that whole prompt out of this video because it is not my mission to make anyone feel like that, especially queer people. I also will do my best to look out for videos that may be triggering for some viewers and give a disclaimer in the beginning of the topics that will be covered. I love having and hearing passionate, humorous, and respectful conversations- but it is definitely a fine line to walk! Thanks again for your feedback I'll do my best to incorporate it when doing my job in the future :)

the lesbians and the guy in the black shirt had the worst takes ever with no substance to their arguments lol.. s/o to our straight ally! he was very well-informed
I'd say something, people should always stop using so much vocabularies in their contexts or when explaining stuff. Vocabularies make it difficult for most people watching you to understand what u're trying to say, others may understand in different ways as well.. we should focus more on making others understand what we are trying to say than trying to sound like we invented the English language

I mean Psychology Today is a reliable source, especially since he studied psychology so it makes sense he would use it. I’m saying this as a psych major myself 😂🙈.
Saying gender is a social construct is such an oversimplification. While some aspects of gender are social (e.x in my culture men don’t wear dresses) that doesn’t mean you can change your gender by simply adhering to a cultural norm of the opposite gender. A masculine looking woman is still a woman. A man in a dress is still a man. Gender is based in biology and this is why trans people tend to want to pass. While they can’t change their biological sex they present (and often have surgeries) to look as much as possible as the opposite sex. Because if gender was truly just a social construct it would not have mattered. There would be no dysphoria, because you could just say you’re the opposite gender and that would be it, as long as culturally you are that should be fine. But that’s not how it works. At the end of the day gender is a bunch of stereotypes that do not matter, because we as humans would always see someone and clock them as either male or female. And if a trans person is passing well, they would be clocked as the opposite sex, which is the ultimate goal, I believe. The beanie guy was falling all over his own arguments because he knows despite how woke he is trying to be, it’s all a bunch of words and we aren’t going to suddenly see gender unrelated to sex. We might be respectful (e.x I don’t believe in the concept of non binary, but I’ll use whatever pronounce they want) and still have an opinion that is rooted in logic and biology.
Right? I wear trousers, I have my own bank account, my father does not own me. Across cultures & time periods that could be only something a man could say. Word definitions can differ among history & culture just fine in slang, for example. But it cannot be applied to man/woman. If it's a social construct, eliminate all part of biology from it: medication, surgery, and stop using terms like MTF/FTM. The entire gender argument has as much integrity of a wet paper bag. Beanie dude reminds me of all the "nice guy" fauxmenists. He can virtue signal "omg even I think men are trash!" all he wants. Only an ally when it benefits him. Reject him or speak about female rights, then get an r threat. Wolf in incel's clothing.
Your interpretation and stance is plain erasure of the myriad of gender variations acknowledged by people in indigenous tribes and other cultures throughout history the world over, try ACTUALLY educating yourself on what gender is before saying whatever you THINK gender is about or related to through your narrow and obviously very westernized lens.
No hate to anyone and no offense intended but I strongly agree with the lesbians in this video. I respect gay people and truly believe some were born that way and I understand their perspective. However, I struggle to understand transgender people. The concept of changing your gender based on how you feel each day - being a woman today and a man tomorrow - doesn’t make sense to me. THIS IS INSANE
I mostly agreed with the lesbian in the green sweater. Gender may be a social construct but it is informed by what your sex is. Modifying your body does not make you a man or a woman in the same sense that it has meant to be one for centuries.
Brian I respect the work that you put into these videos. But I do not respect the fact that you don’t seem to give credit to Jubilee for pioneering this concept on RUclips in the first place. All you’ve got to do is do a quick acknowledgement to Jubilee at the very beginning or very end of your videos. Or add it down below your videos in the description.
include more trans people when discussing gender. The straight cis guy did well but a trans person would’ve eaten them up when it came to gender topics lol
On the contrary I totally understand what the woman with the green vest was getting at during the gender thing, because you'll see someone and obviously register them as a woman/man - she/he despite what the person personally identifies as.
Comes down to this. If ur a man and u transition to a girl can u get pregnant and have a baby ? No. If ur a women and transition to a man and can u get a women pregnant? No.
13:40 Well I am an psychologist.. and there are 2 genders. Society has an opinion about what makes woman a women and man a man.. but there is a biological, genetical an even psychological difference betwen this two genders (different brains, bone structure and shape, hormones, skin..) Gender is not a construct, its not base of a filling.. there are some constructs base of gender/sex natural differences. That is all.
If gender if so cut and dry genetically, why do men have nipples? What’s their function? Why do men get breast cancer? What about intersex people? XXY chromosomes? XXX chromosomes? You’re a psychologist, not a geneticist and not even a psychiatrist. This is biology 101, 9th grade info.

Is it okay for kids under the age of 13 to go to HOOTERS? I wanted to hear their opinion on that one lol one of the most sexualized restaurants ever and most people have no problem taking their kids there.
The guy in the blue checked shirt seems very knowledgeable
yo, the "gender is a social construct" disagreers were so bad i want to die (/j) wtf was that, the strongly agree dude was so intelligent, thank you for educating my fellow homosexuals and the straight guy, cause omg, that was PAINFUL to witness, props to him for not losing his temper, cause I'm losing my mind
Lesbians are not trans people.
Why did (almost)all of the questions revolve around trans people?
Being queer and trans are not the same thing. Such a weird selection of questions for a group of cis people to comment on
was the video edited post upload? Im not seeing the section where everyone is arguing.
I loved your content at first Brian, because you were never afraid to think outside of the box and made unapologetic content supporting the entire queer community. The only issue I had before is that you never seem to moderate the comment section (or have it moderated), which led to people from the community being attacked without consequence. But now it seems you allow people in your videos to make degrading comments about other people in the community without consequence too… I hope this was just a slip up and the next videos will be better.
WHEN THE STRAIGHT GUYS ARE BETTER ALLIES THAN LESBIANS 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Green vest needs not to come back. That's why i dont argue with people that can't let other people be right. 😂😅
The snippet at the beginning - why isn't that shown in the video?
85% of straight men are not "trash." People behave terribly or not. Sex and orientation have 0% to do with it.
W white shirt guy
Wow the bigotry in this was was appalling and just continues to spread the same disgusting far right wing talking points that have been causing hate crimes against the community to rise, especially against trans folk. It is disgusting you gave these talking points a platform.
Good on the straight ally for being the only one challenging the bigoted views
Y'all chose horrible people to discuss these topics. Most of them, except the white shirt guy, are completely uneducated about basic science. Biology 101 talks about intersex people and how sex and gender are different. Very disappointing video. Couldn't even finish watching.
The transphobia from everyone except the white shirt guy was so hard to watch
How was it the one straight white ally dude was way less problematic and annoying than everyone? The one pick me girl with the cap “I don’t do fist bumps,” and the other with the vest buying in to a bunch of right wing rhetoric
"As long as we keep it respectful, we're good" while everyone cuts one another off. I get it, everyone wants to feel heard and understood, but that's not going to happen if we don't give one another a chance to speak and explain their perspective/knowledge.
Everyone talking about white shirt guy- i wanna know why the girl in the bucket hat was so damn awkward the entire episode barely talking at all?? Like "I don't give fist bumps".. what
18:24 I'm gonna take guess and assume that children, who tend to dress up once a year as something they are not, probably understand the concept of a costume.
Notice how when green vest girl is speaking, white shirt dude lets her finish her take but when white shirt dude speaking she interrupts to debate him over and over.
I honestly stopped watching after that big argument. I don’t mind debating back and forward, but at some point we have to call a stop to bullying on the set. Forcing white shirt guy to pull up stats just because green shirt said so was uncalled for. Yes stand up for yourself, but that’s we have stage managers/directors.
Gender vs sex is dribbling them HARD
10:25 bro is literally describing a social construct lmfao
10:07 that was the most reflective thing I’ve ever heard from a man.
This was so uncomfortable to watch(had to skip the argument part because WOW 😧) I need a redo 9:41
This one was a bit dissapointed shirt guy keeps telling them that it's entirely based on your culture meaning the culture you are from, and they keep asking what culture, it's different based on person geeze , Green jacket was wild
Everyone got to speak on their opinions but wen it come to him they all got to comment on his and attack is opinions, make it make sense
One thing with ignorance is when someone on opposite sides speaks their opinion or facts said ignorant person becomes rude instead of listening.
bro us straight duds and lesbians we should be at gay duds straight woman level
Yo the entire gender portion had me rolling on the floor some people don’t know what they are talking about 🤣🤣
this was awful
I’m gay and i’d rather be gay than straight anytime
To the people in the comments section talking about gender and sex: why do you sound so sure of yourself? Maybe one day we'll find an even better definition of gender. I hate how you'll call conservatives ignorant for not understanding these concepts when we're the ones that are meant to define them. And our understanding of gender can change anyway.
I need to be on one of this videos!!!!! ❤❤❤
@@BrianTerada I appreciate the response and changes you are trying to make!
Is the video edited or something? Comments don’t match what was in the video at all?
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Maybe they cut it down after
You always pick the most strange gay ppl to come on this show😂😂
I feel so bad for white shirt guy. It’s so frustrating to try to explain to and educate people when they don’t even care to listen or understand.
Where did they find these people? I’m genuinely disappointed with the transphobia and lack of knowledge in this episode. The guy in the beanie was the only one that knew what he was talking about, he’s genuinely done the research and I found it honestly quite offensive that the others were just “disagreeing” with the FACTS he was stating. Gender IS a social construct and sex and gender are different things, thanks.
The unbelievable ignorance of the difference between sex and gender is crazy.
did they edited the part out?
Miss Green Vest needs to take her advice and allow others to speak. I may be mistaken, but she cut off bro in the white/blue multiple times prior to him voicing his allyship in a more dominant manner.
i'm always so disappointed by these videos, american lgbtphobia is very scary like how do you not see the problem by giving a platform to people with such anti egalitarian "opinions". This is just blatant transphobia
Was bucket hat girl found at a bus stop 5 minutes before shooting this video and just plonked right in the middle with no context given beforehand?
Like, yasss queen, give us nothing.
I was gonna watch this but after the start of the video and reading the comments, I, as a trans man, will not be watching it for the sake of my mental health. Please be more careful with the people you invite to your videos and with the kind of content you put out. Lost a subscriber after this one.
23:43 i like this guy he is so much more well spoken and get his point across so much better then the other guy
I was thinking the same. He was my favorite, so so mature and grounded
the lesbians and the guy in the black shirt had the worst takes ever with no substance to their arguments lol.. s/o to our straight ally! he was very well-informed
I was surprised to see the straight guys being more open to taking a child to pride than the lesbians, but at the same time I feel like I get it.
Yeah more Brian
White shirt guy is the best, the only true queer ally
I'd say something, people should always stop using so much vocabularies in their contexts or when explaining stuff. Vocabularies make it difficult for most people watching you to understand what u're trying to say, others may understand in different ways as well.. we should focus more on making others understand what we are trying to say than trying to sound like we invented the English language
Is English your third language?
20:10 wow she mad disrespectful
god this makes me so incredibly sad to see how alive and well transphobia is within our own community
Listening to some straight men talk about gender is exhausting. Big ups to white shirt.
You like women We like women we should go out together 😍
Is there a video " straight women and gay m'en?"
Love blue plaid shirt guy until he mentioned looking at Psychology Today for research 🤦🏼♀️😂
It ain’t the best source on an individual article basis and with quality control. There’s some good there, he seems to be more knowledgeable than most people.
So you decide what makes sense and what not?
I mostly agreed with the lesbian in the green sweater. Gender may be a social construct but it is informed by what your sex is. Modifying your body does not make you a man or a woman in the same sense that it has meant to be one for centuries.
Brian I respect the work that you put into these videos. But I do not respect the fact that you don’t seem to give credit to Jubilee for pioneering this concept on RUclips in the first place. All you’ve got to do is do a quick acknowledgement to Jubilee at the very beginning or very end of your videos. Or add it down below your videos in the description.
The lady in the bucket head is weird af. Why is she there
include more trans people when discussing gender. The straight cis guy did well but a trans person would’ve eaten them up when it came to gender topics lol
That one girl who was tryna talk ONE time , he kept cuttin her off , rude asf
as G of the LGBT, i agree with lesbians. Im not alone.
On the contrary I totally understand what the woman with the green vest was getting at during the gender thing, because you'll see someone and obviously register them as a woman/man - she/he despite what the person personally identifies as.
this
Homeboy was mad annoying.
9:55 who turns down fistbumps dude wth
Comes down to this. If ur a man and u transition to a girl can u get pregnant and have a baby ? No. If ur a women and transition to a man and can u get a women pregnant? No.
Trans men can get pregnant.
Whats the black studs name and her @ because i agree with her opinions on gender
ohh… this is not…
I just know the women are going to make me mad 😂 lesbian women be getting on my nerves I hate liking them sometimes!
13:40
Well I am an psychologist.. and there are 2 genders.
Society has an opinion about what makes woman a women and man a man.. but there is a biological, genetical an even psychological difference betwen this two genders (different brains, bone structure and shape, hormones, skin..)
Gender is not a construct, its not base of a filling..
there are some constructs base of gender/sex natural differences.
"Psychologists" that are totally oblivious of surrounding societal dynamics and constructs are bad psychologists...Thats you.
That damn generation is so uneducated. It's crazy hiw no one can even manage a sentence without using the word "like" 2 or three times.
