just wanted to suggest that no need in the beginning to cross your right hand all the way over the left to the high tom,just change your sticking and use your left hand for the tom accents, it will give you way more time and then you could add the fast triplet patterns in also.
to be honest he is running behind on the beat 99% of the time. Maybe try not hitting your drums so hard.it delays the stroke.

Van Halen (Diamond Dave era) is by far my favorite band ever since seeing the VHII tour back in 1979. My son is a huge fan too. He'll be the guitar player. I don't care what ANYBODY says, you put your HEART into this song, and that's ALL that matters! I'm a newbie at double bass, so I have 2 questions: What's the foot pattern, and what foot do YOU lead with? Even though I'm right handed, leading with my left seems to feel better.

so the stick can be top heavy more power without needing to use more of your wrist etc the stick does all the work to get a heavier hit and sound
