Of the instagram models, I only like Chantelle. The other two are exactly what the runway models were criticizing about instagram models. Now the runway models, damn, they just seem more honest but also down-to-earth?? Very likeable.
The girl in white, She just felt so insincere. Like she wants to prove that instagramming is on the same level as being a real model. She answered yes to almost all of the questions. Which caused some contradictions.
I am aganist plastic surgery. I have done plastic surgery Instagram models are inclusive of all races, gender and body type. Not everyone can be instagram models We support body positivity. You have to own your flaws Photoshopping your pictures is okay
@John Mark seriously bro. Right after she says she is kind of against plastic surgery she admits to it. What a joke. She’s boring af too I can’t stand her voice.
If its all on instafram then maybe. Still, telling 800k followers to give a dollar on patreon just earned you 720k (-80k is the fees) But yeah, there's decent potential there.
what is odd is that runway models have actually made me feel confident over the years with how unique and different they can all look whereas growing up with social media and instagram, “Instagram models” are the ones that actually made me feel insecure and not worthy of my body and face.
Runway models are selling clothes and their work and beauty is more like art and admiring a sculpture in a museum. Instagram models get plastic surgery, wear pounds of makeup and filter every pic. They don't even look like their pictures. Also instagram models aren't models. They are glorified marketing and some of them are engaged in sex work like prostitution and pornography.
I listen to professional readers all the time and I can hear how unmeasured the IG model’s voices are. It’s the opposite of calming, and not in the good exciting way. But it’s something they can fix if they practice speaking with breathing exercises and tonal inflection practice every day.
@@ahwidmwprjqisnq No human is inherently worth more than anyone else. And looking down on others only reveal ones own lack. A person who is truly successful and happy with themself has no reason to view themself as superior and walk around with an inflated ego. They will just do their thing and lot others do their thing.
@@torbjornhogstrom-vj3mk if i worked hard all my life, had sleepless nights, worked so hard that i cried every night, me, personally, woldnt say i would feel "superior" to someone, but i would have feeling of pride and joy that i worked harder then a guy who has done nothing in their life. im not saying its ok to look down on someone, but its very hard to accept someone who has done nothing even remotely close to what you have, equal.
IG models when they say "we are so natural and spontaneous, that's our charm", they actually mean: "we manufacture ourselves and our personality in order to appeal to a community", that's how you know social media is just a world of its own when it comes to superficiality and masking everything about yourself.
I finally understand real modelling, look at Gary... That posture, that voice, that face, that personality, that look in his eyes... Perfect. Alizee, omg, a strong, firm personality that screams independence along with that simple, yet bombastic fashion
The fact that the IG models spend hours on putting on makeup and still look like the girls u would see daily at Starbucks and the Runway Models put on no makeup and just how gently they speak and how elegantly walk or sit... Like I always thought that Runway Models always had a mask of makeup but I guess not, I have a lot more respect for Runway Models now✨
Yes! Actually in modeling, especially when going to see clients or agencies... they prefer the models to wear very little makeup so they can see their actual features.
@@missbraindamage also they asked them to not wear accesories or anything, they are suppoused to be like a blank canvas for the outfits of the designer.
-Runway Models: Saint Laurent, Alexander Wang, Off White, Gucci -Ig Models: Fashion Nova, Sugar Bear hair, Slim tea, Fabletics It's a whole nother word.
Instagram models are more for the likes and comments and “clout” i feel rather than an actual runway model, they don’t really focus on the looks of the models but promoting the brand they are representing.
That Asian runway model touched on something in modelling that is very important. its good to be flat in that industry. one of my friends said "I was not hired to look attractive, not really. I was hired to complement the clothing as much as possible."
ITS HUNNI I’m a fashion designer and it’s a little sad to admit, but for us it doesn’t matter how attractive you are. All l think is do you have x size waist, x size chest, and x height? No? Sorry we can’t use you. 1 inch makes all the difference.
@@Pikahu37 I heard from a few friends that even underwear could hurt the fit, so many don't wear them. From what I've heard fashion is a scary place fill of uncertainty and competition. Everyone i know really do make it sound harsh.
ITS HUNNI It’s true that sometimes underwear can affect the fit of the garment! A lot of the time the garment is fit and made with a certain model’s measurements in mind, but during the fashion show it is worn by a different model. Sometimes the model is smaller and sometimes they are a little bigger (even if there measurements on paper is the same). It’s so difficult because every body is different!
Says a lot about our world when runway models who are stereotypically seen as "snobby" are actually down to earth, more real than these "inclusive" Instagram models. "I'm against plastic surgery" gets plastic surgery. "I don't really like photoshop" photoshops pictures to "enhance".
I think a difference is Instagram models become Instagram models to be insta famous, to get likes, followers, sponsorships, validation. While runway models have often come about doing this in a different way. They are scouted, been doing this since childhood, went to an agency, wanted to be a runway model. They aren’t often searching for all (if any) of the same things Instagram models are. When people looking for fame and validation on instagram achieve it, their egos and sense of entitlement shows through.
There’s definitely a mix of both the type of runway models you see here and the snobby ones. I used to do runway modeling ages ago and there were indeed some snobs in the mix (usually the lesser talented ones in my opinion) I just avoided them and hung out with my vibe. There are so many humble and down to earth people as well as entitled snobs in the fashion industry. As with any industry I guess
Everyone is talking about how beautiful Gary and Alizée are, they are definitely, but oml is no one gonna talk about Jessica? Her natural features are so beautiful.
I really feel like the “influencers” are not totally honest with themselves. The runway models say it how it is and seem really genuine about the realities of their job.
Daphne Hawkins they also seem more dejected. Being critiqued and made to feel like a mannequin can’t be good for their mental health. Whereas most ig models can turn off their phones.
I agree. I think they do not want to admit that they build a career on looking good. I took a look at a Mariam's profile and I would not recognize her.
I am honestly more inspired by the runway models than the Instagram "models". As harsh as it sounds, two of the three influencers don't even look like humans. The runway models look so real and warm.
The fact you can tell the difference between who the runway models and who the Instagram ‘models’ are is really telling of the major differences between the professionalism of the two jobs.
Sorta. The standards for the runway models are strict and that they must be very thin to wear the sample clothing for their work. The instagram have more leniency but still have requirements for their clients. It may be informal because its based off a medium that everyone uses but, thats amazing in and of itself that they were even able to make a business off of a common app that everyone uses.
I'm wondering what inspired the outfit choice of the plus size Instagram model and the one in white? Because the outfits didn't seem fitting for the occasion.
JasmineSkyy lol the Asian? There’s one who I remember who is mixed with Japanese and one who is the influencer. I think you mean the one who’s mixed, the one who’s a little tanner. Her outfit is simple and I might be mistaken but i think she’s mixed with Hawaiian 🌺 but I could be wrong
The male model was so well spoken, I enjoyed hearing what he had to say. This was a really good episode and I enjoy the addition of the personal interviews in this one!
He was gorgeous too. I’ve always thought black people with that dark of skin were head turners. It’s basically like people with pale white skin. It is so unusual and drastic that I find it beautiful. I like to call it the people with Snow White skin and the people with midnight skin. So beautiful.
Editing a picture vs cutting yourself open??? Are you trying to say they’re contradicting themselves or that these quotes are ironic when the two aren’t even comparable..
@@stitch626ichbruh wtf are u talking about they literally say that they did surgery and that is cutting a parts of their body, fix your wording pls cause it kinda makes no sense
@@florastewart7957 not a very honest living if they photoshop the hell out of their own photos but theyre allowed to do what they want. Just like im allowed to criticize it
@ThreeBananasForAEuro Mr. Styles uh did YOU even listen to what they were saying? two of the ig models said they photoshopped their bodies to “make the photo look a certain way” (11:09), and have you even seen their instagrams?? Only one ig model doesnt photoshop her body like crazy. I have no problem with them or anyone photoshopping out acne since, as the real model said, its temporary. But faking a super tiny waist and big hips while preaching “body positivity” is super hypocritical to me, and im allowed to criticize it.
Isn’t it crazy how the runway models are seen as super vain but when you hear them talk they’re super down to earth and the “influencers” are the ones that are completely out of touch with reality?
Diego87 Not all Instagram models ALWAYS seek attention from men some post to send positive messages or enjoy posting and seeing positive things in their comments.
I could definitely sense the insecurity of Instragram models. Also, they didn't seem honest. I do admire that they got where they are now through their hard-work and all but they're not too professional with the way they carried themselves. And it's ironic that the runaway models actually made me feel better about myself than the influencers.
am i the only one who noticed that the runway models carry themselves very differently? there's something about them that makes them so graceful and elegant.
the difference between instagram models & runway models is easily apparent. i noticed it as soon as they started doing their "model walk" in the beginning of the video, the instagram models were walking like regular people who were told to walk like a model (which they basically are)
Everyone has this stigma about professional runway models, however the models presented in this video were so professionally composed. They were very smart and educated, and the insta models were rather contradictory and insecure.
Lara Croft I knew a couple. Both are very professional and take good care of their physic, have good presentational skills, well spoken, know several foreign languages and generally nice girls. Of course, that doesn’t mean all models are the same, but that is the point. People shouldn’t judge a group because of some individuals. The stigma exists particularly because a lot of them start very young and some have to choose between career and education. I knew a girl who moved to France alone at 13, obviously she did not have the same knowledge as kids of her age, she was working.
Yeah. I feel like people often forget that the main social issues with the professional modeling industry are not exactly in the hands of the models themselves, but rather the people above them running the shows and the industry.
someone left this comment on aba and preach's video which is spot on "Runway models usually can't live off their profession unless they're at the top of their field, so they need to fill their low periods with other things like education, normal jobs etc which allows them to grow outside of their modelling. Thats why the pros seem much more well spoken and perceptive than the instagram "models"" Which makes sense because instagram models probably never get the fuck off of well...instagram
the runway models have so much class. they’re so articulate when expressing their thoughts and dont only possess good looks, but they’re also incredibly smart.
i feel like u along w everyone in the comment section and everyone who replied to ur comment is dissing the instagram models and acting like the runway models r superior and i feel like the runway models wholeheartedly believe that as well but in all reality the runway and couture model industry is doing horrible things making every girl feel like they have to look a certain way so just bc someone has “class” does not make them smarter and i rly admire the instagram models for actually making out society a better and more inclusive place. being an instagram model is completely valid and i honestly just think ur insecure and therefore posting things against the instagram models in the comments as of the runway models could ever be better. get a life.
its interesting to see how the IG models present different from the runway models. the runway models are almost without make up, simply dressed and seem more relaxed while the IG models look like they are constantly performing - full on make up, tight revealing dresses etc. its like one big show
Alizée looks so professional to me, her look, the way she is, the way she walks, the way she sits, the way she gestured, the way she speaks. Everything about her is so professional.
Confident, yet feminine. Dominant, yet elegant. Strong, yet gentle. That's all men want from a woman (ofc she doesn't have to be a 10/10 like Alizee here). These purple haired arrogant feminists being hysteric all the time are completely missing the mark here. I don't see Alizee bringing the beer to the ole papa, but I don't see her screaming gibberish on the street and arguing about stuff she doesn't understand either. Her demeanor speaks for herself. Absolute unit of a woman.
Alex Barčovský omg why does everything have to involve these extreme feminists tho? Like we get it, you get the worst type of feminist on a regular basis but the comparison was really unnecessary dude smh
The way a lot of media portrays runway models as stuck up, rich, and cocky is completely untrue, and this video proves it. The models were actually people who I felt more connected to, and they were so professional yet humble, it was refreshing to see.
I also used to feel that way cuz lately i've been watching antm alot and the attitudes of the contestants suck big time ... but i guess with years and years of practice and hardwork that goes into building a professional runway model makes them more out in the open
Yaa even with big pay checks there’s just too much inconsistency with those pay checks. It doesn’t matter if you get paid $1k for a job if you’re out of work for x amount of time because other clients won’t hire you. It’s a huge hustle
xxxsasukation professional models with worldwide fame and high payment are usually branded as supermodels, though this title has become controversial lately, become some of the really high paid models in the industry only are because of their background (Kendall Jenner, Bella hadid...) etc Supermodels are basically famous, skilled models that get paid a lot. The normal runway models barely live with their salaries.
Runway models seemed less ego driven and less concerned with “selling “ themselves to followers or fans. Much more easy to relate to. I was surprised. I liked them. Gary, Alizee, and Jessica were really cool and humble.
Don't take this the wrong way, but duh! They have to deal with companies pampering them and walking down a runway with grace, but the IG models deal with the population. The whole selling themselves aspect is something I can agree on because some influencers rely heavilyyyy on filters and such but that's their lifestyle. Their lifestyle is to pander to the people
A lot of instagram models still want to get people to view them as like equal to a runway model (some are ambitious) who some may think is above instagram models while the runway models doesn't feel like they need recognition or titled or so. That may be why. In my opinion, although they are both models , they have different markets so we shouldn't really rank them and expect others to follow it because rank is subjective.
Fashion models are meant for art while Instagram models are meant for attraction that’s probably why I felt more insecure about looking at Instagram models than fashion models.
the instagram models were wrong about the filters, retouching, facetune, etc. I really don’t see many real & raw pictures of instagrams models, their not really moving away from it.
Tek a gyal man i know some of them are raw, but there’s still a massive amount of them who aren’t. They acted like there was a big change but it seems to only be going up tbh
chantelle: “photoshopping gets the job done, sells the clothes, I’m fine with it” isn’t that the mentality that you’re supposedly trying to “break down”?? so hypocritical that their ideals crumble if they’re getting paid for it
There's a big difference between photoshopping your body, like making it slimmer or smoother, and retouching clothing. There is nothing wrong with retouching. I guess she meant retouching, like the clothes themselves don't look as good or there's a weird fold in it. if you retouch that so the clothes will sell beter, you're not photoshopping the way your body looks, but it's still concidered photoshopping.
The way I knew straight away which ones are real models. I mean... their bodies, they way they carry themselves, their faces... Alizee is so stunning...
The Instagram models are living in a fantasy, they want to be on a pedestal above everyone else. And they don’t want to put in the effort to be at their physical peak. To be at their best selves. And it really ruins it for everyone else in the modeling industry. The word ‘model’ has been diluted to the point where anyone who’s posed in front of a camera for a photo will claim to be a model. It hurts everyone who’s a genuine model, whether it’s runway or photography.
I disagree. The Instagram models were talking about exposing her flaws when the runnaway models was still talking about filters and etc. To be proud of your own body is no longer a "new" movement. If she knew about the market, she should be aware of it. It is everywhere in the midia. How could she not have heard of it yet?
im gonna add a little bit of what stuck out to me. the instagram models wanted body positivity but had plastic surgery and were ok with photoshopping their bodies. the runway models were self conscious about their flat chest or small nose but they learned to love them because it was what made them stand out in a room full of other beautiful people. both groups are placed on a stage where others judge them and the runway models learned to love themselves in a healthy way and want to encourage that in others. the instagram models are still self conscious and show it but still consider themselves as good role models for body positivity??
It's all goes to impact. Insta model is like a broadcaster or a marketing channel... whether we like it or not they can bring companies a lot of sales and clicks. These insta models can even open their own merch or brand. So it's natural that they make more.
The main difference is as follows. In reference to use on a resume, One can be put in the “Past Job” section, and one can be put under the “Skills” section.
Yeah I always thought that. I’m skinny but I’m 5 2. I could never be on the runway. When I was younger, I was thinking the reason why there’re no big people on the runway is because one too expensive to make clothes with a lot of fabric and two it’s easier to just make one size. I was young but I was getting somewhere with it lol. Sample sizes yes
@@whatzittooyah I really wanted to be a model but when I tried auditioning they said that I'm too short, I'm very insecure about my height, I literally can't go out without heels btw I'm 5"1
Yeaaah, I have an unusual face and seeing all these different types of beauty and that they don't look like they came straight out of facetune made me feel so much better :)
@@ThisUserPassedAway she doesn't think so, she thinks her race is inferior. Aesthetic merits are determined by human beings ourselves, the world will see her as she sees her own race. It’s sad.
It’s funny how the Instagram “models” look rich and are trying to look soooo good and then the runway models look so natural that it looks like they aren’t even trying.
ewwwww why did the asian ig model say that asian girls are "not gifted with their bodies", but then talk about how ig modellng is about 'body positivity' and 'owning your flaws'??
the other problem with that is that there are 48 countries in asia. and she’s probably only talking about japan, china, korea etc. and tbh everyone looks they’re own way. so idk why she even said that
@@CC-hw3et she literally said asians arent blessed with good bodies so thats why she put in implants. Part of that is true in the sense that asians are genetically slimmer and have smaller boobs and butt. Disheartening to hear that she said in order to make asian bodies pretty we would have to put in implants
@@unlucky673 no it's not just those certain countries. honestly I think it's just what everyone says it just depends tbh. I'm Laos and Thai but I'm really curvy, but my aunt is petite and she has no butt or big boobs. so I just thinks it varies
Prob with IG models is they think the modeling industry should cater to them. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. The primary function of models is to essentially act as mannequins for designers in order to show off their designs. Designers create sample sizes for their creations in shows and models need to fit into them. Unfortunately, your job isn’t to uplift women. You’re just a vehicle for designers to show off their clothes. The IG models in this conversation see modeling as this glamorous job but are blind to the realities. They aren’t acknowledging the women who move to the US from economically deficient companies that live in model apartments barely getting by. IG models just see success related to sponsorships and likes on posts.
@@themorrigan4445you missed the point. It's not about the person, it's about the clothes. Runway models are like extras in a movie. They are there to serve the spotlight, they aren't the spotlight
Mmmm many runway models struggle with accumulating a following on Instagram right now unless they’re intwined in some sort of celebrity scandal. Most runway models stay comparatively unknown
@Joe Dick When did I show that in my response? I actually don't think he's the most attractive guy out there, but I love the way he caries himself. He seems elegant to me in a way
@Joe Dick Gary doesn’t look particularly tall or buff. His darker skin and facial features do not fit the current beauty standard. However, is grace and elegance make him magnetic. It’s not about the appearance at all- it’s about the charisma.
What's worse is having ig influencers pretending to be inclusive and positive when they retouch the photos they post. A Runway model will make someone less insecure than an Ig influencer who is supposed to be just like them
@@jazmin4320 idk... maybe try listening to the words she actually said? the words she spoke might make more sense than the interpretation you came up with! :)
@@tamiwithaneye no shes just inconsistent with her views tbh. she does have the ideal body type for instagram anyways and especially plus size models. she’s fine with hiding her cellulite but is for body positivity? doesn’t make sense
As an Asian girl with very small breasts and ass, I am completely fine with it and don’t think I should change it at all. This girl just confuses me. The Asian runway model is strangely much more relatable.
For real...I don’t wanna assume but she probably felt insecure seeing Jessica. Much more relatable, I would assume. I’m asian and I related more to Jessica rather than Vic.
EXACTLY! I feel like in the quest of being body positive, ig models just make me focus too much on myself and my body while these runway models just say “I was naturally blessed with a nice body” and move on
nor me LOL😂😋 And never will to be honest..... im not even on it anymore some days it would upset me and id be like these people dont know me...they dont know im caring im loving im respectful im kind and honest they are just judging me on how i look so i got rid of it Lol😂 \and im way more happy now i dont have it😋
The only influencer that has changed my life is pewdiepie I started reading more books, workout, and start keeping up with my body health But not to disagree at all Influencers dont do anything
Runway modeling isn't about just being skinny and tall. The charisma and the overall walking on the runway decides if the model is really 'it'. Regardless of size. Being a runway model is obviously way more difficult than being an instagram model (not against them at all). And this is an obvious fact because the runway/modeling/supermodel industry existed way, way, way before Instagram models.
i think because it's clear that being a runway model is simply something most people cannot be. so their body types are unattainable. it's almost like being human art. whereas instagram models are just regular people...
Weirdly enough I think the Instagram models are extremely insecure and are always trying to prove themselves to the point of getting defensive, and it shows. Especially with the amount of photoshop these girls use and the fact that they are trying to defend it just proves how much they wish they could attain an impossible level of perfection, and that's not a healthy way for anyone to think.
I've never felt insecure because of runway models because it is understood that they were born that way- they got lucky, and now they just get to take advantage of it. Instagram models make me feel poor, because I could look more like them with money. But all the money in the world won't make me as effortlessly beautiful as a runway model, so it's easy to look past imo.
I know that runway models get retouched and that they’re Born with their bodytype. But i never know if a Instagram model edits his/her picture, and ik never know if what i see is real.
The real models, are gorgeous (Alizeé kinda looks like Charlize Theron) They were so elegant, intelligent, so well spoken. I could hear Gary talk for hours.
The unprofessional model wannabes get culled really fast. You’re left with people who can adapt quickly, learn the walk, take instruction well, and are excellent at interviews with a measured speaking tone.
I agree with you. Everyone's an influencer in a way. We all make impressions on people we interact with and even strangers and passers by. I don't have thousands of followers on Instagram but I still influence those who see my posts. And so does everyone else who interacts or socialises with other people.
Yeah runway/commercial models (actors as well) are taught to dress as netural as possible so that the clients can visual the clothing/style on them. It's clear that the instagram ones are too focused on looking flashy/instagram worthy
alizée came for her at 11:45 “no the question is are we ok with it” it’s not only that part but throughout the rest of the video you can see how runway models answer with elegance and professionalism they go straight to the question whereas ig models don’t
Rudi Top if you mean the instagram model was right in asking that then i’m not saying that you’re wrong i’m just sayin that the question didn’t ask if they’ve photoshopped the question was if they’re ok with it so the runway model was ok saying that
Funny how the Instagram models want to advocate for a healthy lifestyle and promote 'body positivity' but at the same time have surgery and think this isn't going to affect the community you are attracting
The runway models have been critiqued their whole careers and had to build their self esteem back up, whereas the Instagram models basically can just block somebody who doesn’t think that they’re beautiful. That’s the difference
@@norapeace6526 ...critique only happens on social media?? I’m pretty sure critique from beauty standards is what led them to build their own platform for their body types.
andromeda lol, I’m not trying to argue but a lot of people use photoshop to enhance the photo, ad colour filters etc. Not all photoshop is changing the way you look
"we're not gifted with our bodies" sis- and she said asian got to put money to make our body more likeable.. geez and here i thought she said she supports body positivity
Sofea Khai I know ! Girl ! I did a double take. Wtf ! What she said isn’t true . Most Asian people are on the petite side . Asian culture pushes slimness so yes there are many Asians who are skinny and have less boobs/butts but I can tell you that isn’t the case for all Asian people ..... there are curved Asians blessed with both , Asians with big boobs, no butt , Asians with no boobs and big butts, and flat. Not ALL Asians are unblessed. I’m insanely short, but I am blessed . Asian people are beautiful and don’t need surgery ...
I got so triggered when the girl on the white jean jacket said it was ok to use photo shop to re shape your body. Your not a influencer or body positive person if you have to photoshop your body to “look perfect or look good”
Tbf she’s the only one that wasn’t claiming to be a body positive account. The other two claim to promote self love and positive whilst being pro photoshop (esp the one who is against plastic surgery but got her bump removed when she did it herself). At the bare minimum at least she’s not a hypocrite
I don't think ig models even COMPARE to fashion and runway models. Like how can you compare trying to get picked at castings, working with huge designers and working so so hard just to be recognized with going in your backyard and taking some pictures? And photoshopping it as well? In the catwalk there's no photoshop, there's no "oh I'm gonna delete this photo cause it didn't do well". There's a good model and a bad model and that's how it should be, otherwise there's no point in being a model if everyone can do it.
Exactly. You shouldn't say "I think" you should say "I know this for a fact" the insta models get to hide behind filters, and angles, beyond imaginable to runway models.
Exactly I agree.. modeling is really tough.. cause A nothing is in your control from costume to make up to photoshoot... and even one of the things turned out wrong, it would be a huge impact on models career. Plus their jobs are not always fix.. they constantly have search for jobs until they become famous.. plus you have to fit in that life style.. always be in a same body shape .. like eveything is so difficult for them.. it can never be compared to Instagram model tbh
I mean, it's a different skillset. IG models need to be smart about self promotion online through marketing, branding and social media, editing etc. I do think everyone could do it but I don't think everyone would succeed...
i have a deviated septum, cant breath very well. if i exercise i have to breathe through my mouth because air flow cant get through my nose, i snore loudly and sometimes wake up in the middle of the night because i cant breathe. i was recommended surgery but im honestly too scared of getting any kind of surgery so i just have not done it.
@@ronaldsuarez1793 I've had the surgery and it honestly changed my life, the first week after the Surgery your nose is swollen so you won't notice a difference but onces that went away I could breath threw my nose and smell things I had never smelled before 😂 So if you really want it don't be scared
It is literally common to break your nose or to be born with a deviated septum. That’s why you have heard it so much but it’s valid. I hope you never break your nose..
I like how Victoria threw the word “enhance” around a lot to make it seem like what she’s doing is fine and not hypocritical. The only ig model who isn’t a hypocrite to me is Chantelle. She was chill and she was a sweetheart. The other girls were just getting defensive because they were being exposed lmao

what is odd is that runway models have actually made me feel confident over the years with how unique and different they can all look whereas growing up with social media and instagram, “Instagram models” are the ones that actually made me feel insecure and not worthy of my body and face.

Elvish vibe was the first thing I got from them too lol
I listen to professional readers all the time and I can hear how unmeasured the IG model’s voices are. It’s the opposite of calming, and not in the good exciting way. But it’s something they can fix if they practice speaking with breathing exercises and tonal inflection practice every day.
I feel like Mariam was so intimidated by the runway models and tried to put them down when she kept asking if they retouched their photos.

Its true fashion models have to sell clothes not themselves
exactly, it's to be a coat hanger and let the clothing shine
Says a lot about our world when runway models who are stereotypically seen as "snobby" are actually down to earth, more real than these "inclusive" Instagram models. "I'm against plastic surgery" gets plastic surgery. "I don't really like photoshop" photoshops pictures to "enhance".
This.

I wouldn’t say insecure as such but definitely contradictory
Yeah. I feel like people often forget that the main social issues with the professional modeling industry are not exactly in the hands of the models themselves, but rather the people above them running the shows and the industry.

The way a lot of media portrays runway models as stuck up, rich, and cocky is completely untrue, and this video proves it. The models were actually people who I felt more connected to, and they were so professional yet humble, it was refreshing to see.
I also used to feel that way cuz lately i've been watching antm alot and the attitudes of the contestants suck big time ... but i guess with years and years of practice and hardwork that goes into building a professional runway model makes them more out in the open

xxxsasukation professional models with worldwide fame and high payment are usually branded as supermodels, though this title has become controversial lately, become some of the really high paid models in the industry only are because of their background (Kendall Jenner, Bella hadid...) etc

It hurts everyone who’s a genuine model, whether it’s runway or photography.

the other problem with that is that there are 48 countries in asia. and she’s probably only talking about japan, china, korea etc. and tbh everyone looks they’re own way. so idk why she even said that
Jesus give the girl a break, she was talking about her own body not having natural curves as a general result of her genetics.
ikkk It made me sad about my asian body to hear that in order to make it pretty you have to augment it.
I think that huge designer brands have the resources to be more inclusive.
@@themorrigan4445you missed the point. It's not about the person, it's about the clothes. Runway models are like extras in a movie. They are there to serve the spotlight, they aren't the spotlight
I feel like the runway models can easily become “Instagram models,” not vice versa
But it's not, so they can't
True
Well fking said.
Mmmm many runway models struggle with accumulating a following on Instagram right now unless they’re intwined in some sort of celebrity scandal. Most runway models stay comparatively unknown

@Joe Dick chance or not it still shows your personality
@Joe Dick When did I show that in my response? I actually don't think he's the most attractive guy out there, but I love the way he caries himself. He seems elegant to me in a way
@Joe Dick Gary doesn’t look particularly tall or buff. His darker skin and facial features do not fit the current beauty standard. However, is grace and elegance make him magnetic. It’s not about the appearance at all- it’s about the charisma.

What's worse is having ig influencers pretending to be inclusive and positive when they retouch the photos they post. A Runway model will make someone less insecure than an Ig influencer who is supposed to be just like them

they promote "body positivity" and the girl in the white jacket said that Asian girls need to put in the work and finance to look good-
When did the Asian girl say she was all about Body positivity? 😳
As an Asian girl with very small breasts and ass, I am completely fine with it and don’t think I should change it at all. This girl just confuses me. The Asian runway model is strangely much more relatable.
@@ihkeseteeietos5722 yes! As a half asian with speed bumps, I'm so glad cause sometimes I don't wear bras 🤣

For some reason runway models make me so much less bad and conscious about myself than the “body positive insta models”
EXACTLY! I feel like in the quest of being body positive, ig models just make me focus too much on myself and my body while these runway models just say “I was naturally blessed with a nice body” and move on
Same! I don’t know what it is but they make me feel so good lol
I thought she was 49
right!! they seemed much more genuine and secure in themselves whereas the ig “models” felt like they were constantly trying to prove themselves

Is it weird that instagram models with their "body positive" make me more insecure than runway models?
i think because it's clear that being a runway model is simply something most people cannot be. so their body types are unattainable. it's almost like being human art. whereas instagram models are just regular people...
Same...

Nope I hate it too
I agree with you. Everyone's an influencer in a way. We all make impressions on people we interact with and even strangers and passers by. I don't have thousands of followers on Instagram but I still influence those who see my posts. And so does everyone else who interacts or socialises with other people.

it's so cringey when someone classes themselves as an 'influencer' 😬
I despise it too
But Alizeé's beauty is just amazing: the clothes she is wearing are so simple , yet she has my attention
IKR she looks like an angel
the clothes of the runway models vs the clothes of the ig models says it all lol
She's driven by ego though. Come on.
She won France next top model
Yeah runway/commercial models (actors as well) are taught to dress as netural as possible so that the clients can visual the clothing/style on them. It's clear that the instagram ones are too focused on looking flashy/instagram worthy
When Gary and the other runway models are better body positive models than the instagram models.

But instagram models have been critiqued there whole lives so it’s not really a difference
@@dirtydan5399 not necessarily. If they start social media at 30, then they start getting critiques heavy at 30 lmaooo

She’s the reason why ppl hate IG Influencers and models
Tbf she’s the only one that wasn’t claiming to be a body positive account.
Exactly. People get offended by it but that’s literally just how every job field works.
