runway models aren't paid as much as you'd think. only supermodels get paid a lot.
Many aren't paid at all, lol
Amy Duong what makes you a supermodel?
xxxsasukation who said this person is a super model lmao
Yaa even with big pay checks there’s just too much inconsistency with those pay checks. It doesn’t matter if you get paid $1k for a job if you’re out of work for x amount of time because other clients won’t hire you. It’s a huge hustle
xxxsasukation professional models with worldwide fame and high payment are usually branded as supermodels, though this title has become controversial lately, become some of the really high paid models in the industry only are because of their background (Kendall Jenner, Bella hadid...) etc
Supermodels are basically famous, skilled models that get paid a lot. The normal runway models barely live with their salaries.
I like how you can instantly tell who the Instagram models are 😂
Good.Energii INSTANTLY. They are so offended and triggered 😂 meanwhile the runway models are confident, well spoken and classy.
the makeup....
Good.Energii hehe
💀💀💀lool dwl
Because they’re “body positive” and a lil triggered lol
what is odd is that runway models have actually made me feel confident over the years with how unique and different they can all look whereas growing up with social media and instagram, “Instagram models” are the ones that actually made me feel insecure and not worthy of my body and face.
Runway models are selling clothes and their work and beauty is more like art and admiring a sculpture in a museum.
Instagram models get plastic surgery, wear pounds of makeup and filter every pic. They don't even look like their pictures. Also instagram models aren't models. They are glorified marketing and some of them are engaged in sex work like prostitution and pornography.
Real bro I feel the same
Instagram girls (hardly models) looks cheap and trying hard. Hence, not admirable.
its true!! even women that are in the gym edit the photos its terrible !
this is straight facts
IG models when they say "we are so natural and spontaneous, that's our charm", they actually mean: "we manufacture ourselves and our personality in order to appeal to a community", that's how you know social media is just a world of its own when it comes to superficiality and masking everything about yourself.
Yup!
Preach!
I think its worse that runway models are not inclusive, have harsh diets, and they have to be super skinny
And ??
Also most of them aren't even natural lmao
“Not all ig models are runway models, but all runway models can be ig models”

A runway model being an instagram model is a serious downgrade tho
@@samyukthasrikanth4214 They can do both tho

He is too thin in my opinion
“I photoshop my body to make it look a certain way and that’s okay” “I’m against plastic surgery, and I’m all for body positivity”

Editing a picture vs cutting yourself open??? Are you trying to say they’re contradicting themselves or that these quotes are ironic when the two aren’t even comparable..
I liked the bump, but might as well get it shaved down.

@@torbjornhogstrom-vj3mk if i worked hard all my life, had sleepless nights, worked so hard that i cried every night, me, personally, woldnt say i would feel "superior" to someone, but i would have feeling of pride and joy that i worked harder then a guy who has done nothing in their life. im not saying its ok to look down on someone, but its very hard to accept someone who has done nothing even remotely close to what you have, equal.
The runway models seem much more professional to be honest.
They are trained professionals.

The unprofessional model wannabes get culled really fast. You’re left with people who can adapt quickly, learn the walk, take instruction well, and are excellent at interviews with a measured speaking tone.

They, runway models, are so elegant!!!!
@@Steph489 i mean all of them are beautiful but u can definitely see the try hards lol
Sasha true and idk if it was just me but I feel like the ig girls were low key jealous of the models. But that just the way I see it ❤️
Its important when being a runway model to look like a canvas rather than a painting.
I think the reason why runway models don't make us feel as insecure as Instagram models do is because that runway model lifestyle isn't supposed to look attainable for the regular folks. These people are very tall and naturally thin, they're wearing very expensive and generally odd clothing that is probably not even wearable out in the world. Instagram, on the other hand, somehow promotes an idea of an attainable lifestyle, like you see this girl with a banging but somewhat realistic body type and you think yeah I could look like that with some work outs and if I ate a certain way.
That's some retarded as thinking
theres no such thing as naturally thin they just dont go at Burger King every day.
btw: runway model are actually way healthier for society because they body is actually attainable wheares Instagram Influencer who are using filter and photoshop like crazy, are the one's that actually promote bodytype that arent humanly attainable.
Well said
Runway models are shown more like an art piece
I agree but naturally thin is a huge stretch😭most models have eating disorders and extremely restrictive diets to attain such thinness. That said there is a handful of models who are genuinely naturally thin
I am honestly more inspired by the runway models than the Instagram "models". As harsh as it sounds, two of the three influencers don't even look like humans. The runway models look so real and warm.
THATS the word i was looking for! Inspiring! Thank you
They do "look human" tho. Being in shape and wearing a lot of makeup doesn't mean you don't look human tf
Why are you dehumanising them for? Your comment screams jealousy.
they are most certainly not in shape @@Denzz2
REAL
I feel like the runway models can easily become “Instagram models,” not vice versa
But it's not, so they can't
True
Well fking said.
Mmmm many runway models struggle with accumulating a following on Instagram right now unless they’re intwined in some sort of celebrity scandal. Most runway models stay comparatively unknown
So truee!!
-Runway Models: Saint Laurent, Alexander Wang, Off White, Gucci
-Ig Models: Fashion Nova, Sugar Bear hair, Slim tea, Fabletics
It's a whole nother word.
Wait a minute fabletics is actually good 😐 do a lot of Instagram girls promote them or something?
Instagram models are more for the likes and comments and “clout” i feel rather than an actual runway model, they don’t really focus on the looks of the models but promoting the brand they are representing.
Flat tummy tea
Noemi Garcia sugar bear hair 😭😭
But it doesn't always cancel out. After all, emma chamberlain collaborated with Louis Vuitton....
Says a lot about our world when runway models who are stereotypically seen as "snobby" are actually down to earth, more real than these "inclusive" Instagram models. "I'm against plastic surgery" gets plastic surgery. "I don't really like photoshop" photoshops pictures to "enhance".
This.
I think a difference is Instagram models become Instagram models to be insta famous, to get likes, followers, sponsorships, validation. While runway models have often come about doing this in a different way. They are scouted, been doing this since childhood, went to an agency, wanted to be a runway model. They aren’t often searching for all (if any) of the same things Instagram models are. When people looking for fame and validation on instagram achieve it, their egos and sense of entitlement shows through.
the crazy thing is that runway models NEVER made me feel insecure, but Instagram models did 💀
ewwwww why did the asian ig model say that asian girls are "not gifted with their bodies", but then talk about how ig modellng is about 'body positivity' and 'owning your flaws'??
the other problem with that is that there are 48 countries in asia. and she’s probably only talking about japan, china, korea etc. and tbh everyone looks they’re own way. so idk why she even said that
Jesus give the girl a break, she was talking about her own body not having natural curves as a general result of her genetics.
ikkk It made me sad about my asian body to hear that in order to make it pretty you have to augment it.
@@CC-hw3et she literally said asians arent blessed with good bodies so thats why she put in implants. Part of that is true in the sense that asians are genetically slimmer and have smaller boobs and butt. Disheartening to hear that she said in order to make asian bodies pretty we would have to put in implants
@@unlucky673 no it's not just those certain countries. honestly I think it's just what everyone says it just depends tbh. I'm Laos and Thai but I'm really curvy, but my aunt is petite and she has no butt or big boobs. so I just thinks it varies

The difference in class and elegance is so apparent here. The models seem to have a perspective that is shaped through hardwork, experiance and travelling meanwhile the Instagram 'influencers' seem totally amateur in principality and how they view things, like how are you going to justify photoshopping your body? That's insane to me.
experience*
Well said
Thats the problem with creating your own version of reality on the internet you come to believe its separate from the real world. World travel matures and changes human beings thats why the Runway models are the way they are
Is it weird that instagram models with their "body positive" make me more insecure than runway models?
i think because it's clear that being a runway model is simply something most people cannot be. so their body types are unattainable. it's almost like being human art. whereas instagram models are just regular people...
Same...
Weirdly enough I think the Instagram models are extremely insecure and are always trying to prove themselves to the point of getting defensive, and it shows. Especially with the amount of photoshop these girls use and the fact that they are trying to defend it just proves how much they wish they could attain an impossible level of perfection, and that's not a healthy way for anyone to think.
I've never felt insecure because of runway models because it is understood that they were born that way- they got lucky, and now they just get to take advantage of it. Instagram models make me feel poor, because I could look more like them with money. But all the money in the world won't make me as effortlessly beautiful as a runway model, so it's easy to look past imo.
I know that runway models get retouched and that they’re Born with their bodytype. But i never know if a Instagram model edits his/her picture, and ik never know if what i see is real.
The term “influencer” annoys me
Why?
Stephanie Gallardo because Instagram models or TikTok dancers aren’t influencers or atleast it’s sad that they are
I know what you mean.. kinda like overpride
I think being an influence means you have A) a platform of people to influence B) send a good message. Maybe models aren’t ideal code for influencer, but some other stuff are. For example, PrinceEA is an influencer because he influences you to the reality and how it can become better and how are actions impact that.
Same💀
I could definitely sense the insecurity of Instragram models. Also, they didn't seem honest. I do admire that they got where they are now through their hard-work and all but they're not too professional with the way they carried themselves. And it's ironic that the runaway models actually made me feel better about myself than the influencers.
Gosh I have such a problem with these Instagram models, they’re everything that is wrong with this growing awareness of beauty. So hypocritical. They say they don’t use filters and don’t support plastic surgery but they do both!! I’m surprised to say the runway models feel more real.
Walking Contradictions 😮 ??? You hit it on the head these fashion magazines don't want that its natural beauty like "GIA CORONGI, by the way a grate movie 😮

its interesting to see how the IG models present different from the runway models. the runway models are almost without make up, simply dressed and seem more relaxed while the IG models look like they are constantly performing - full on make up, tight revealing dresses etc. its like one big show
Can we talk about how runway models don’t need to much to look attractive. They just look so classy, natural and the aura around them is different
I thought the runway models finna be egoistic and looking down on the “ influencer “ but... more like the opposite.
Sophia Chrin yeah it was as if the influencers were trying to prove that they’re worth as much as them
Miguel Hernandez - makes sense, looking through these comment sections they got bashed to the infinite so i don’t blame them 🤷🏼♂️
Emma Emma yeah and that’s what made them better, r you okay?
Most influencers have pretty fragile egos. Take the numbers away and there goes their confidence.

I agree with you. Everyone's an influencer in a way. We all make impressions on people we interact with and even strangers and passers by. I don't have thousands of followers on Instagram but I still influence those who see my posts. And so does everyone else who interacts or socialises with other people.

She obviously has had lip injections too... home girl be lyinggg
Raya Marie In what time?
Seems more than just a nose job..
i'm not the only one who noticed how much more natural the runway models' makeup is than the instagram models, right?
Fashion models have to be attractive without makeup or filters. Models take neutral headshots with no makeup in addition to their portfolio so photographers can easily see their bone structure and proportions which is a base for anything additional that may be added in a shoot.
And?
instagram models usually do make up that is more suited to be photographed that's probably why and obviously because of influencer culture
I refer to that have at dramatic makeup as Instagram makeup, I’ve never seen anyone in person with it on
@@mariae.h.9403 its just that when you model the goal is to look naturally elegant and putting all that makeup like it models defeats the whole purpose
What's worse is having ig influencers pretending to be inclusive and positive when they retouch the photos they post. A Runway model will make someone less insecure than an Ig influencer who is supposed to be just like them
I feel like Mariam is the kind of person you’d be stuck in an elevator with and she the one with really strong annoying perfume
The girl in white, She just felt so insincere. Like she wants to prove that instagramming is on the same level as being a real model. She answered yes to almost all of the questions. Which caused some contradictions.

@ThreeBananasForAEuro Mr. Styles uh did YOU even listen to what they were saying? two of the ig models said they photoshopped their bodies to “make the photo look a certain way” (11:09), and have you even seen their instagrams?? Only one ig model doesnt photoshop her body like crazy. I have no problem with them or anyone photoshopping out acne since, as the real model said, its temporary. But faking a super tiny waist and big hips while preaching “body positivity” is super hypocritical to me, and im allowed to criticize it.
Funny how the Instagram models want to advocate for a healthy lifestyle and promote 'body positivity' but at the same time have surgery and think this isn't going to affect the community you are attracting
Im an aspiring fashion designer, and one of the main reasons why we use people who are taller, have longer limbs, and are skinnier, is that these characteristics allow us to fit more detailings and layer garments proportionally (such as a blouse under a puffer you are able to extend the blouse longer to accentuate it). Also on top of more allowance, the body type creates more flattering drape like long legs allowing the fabric to sway elegantly to match the vision of the look. So these make for mainstays in what a model should look like. There are other characteristics that may a model may or may not have such as broader shoulders to give a sense of strength and works well with more masculine looks, or longer neck to accessorize or collared garments.
Ultimately you would think designers want to create clothes people can actually wear and not just be seen once on the runway and maybe another time on a red carpet.

@ its not as easy as you think. you have to do so much in order to be able to positively influence people seeing your profile. think about that first.
Runway modeling is extremely cut throat and hard. Obviously insta modeling is easier because you can model anywhere and choose your own clothes. Runway modeling is controlled by the industries and insta modeling is more controlled by the people who are modeling.
Because she have to use her money to do a full plastic surgery on her face and hired a professional editor to Photoshop her body and face, lol
@@nickloveskangin oh jeez, how very difficult. This is the morons concept of 'hard work'.
Prob with IG models is they think the modeling industry should cater to them. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. The primary function of models is to essentially act as mannequins for designers in order to show off their designs. Designers create sample sizes for their creations in shows and models need to fit into them. Unfortunately, your job isn’t to uplift women. You’re just a vehicle for designers to show off their clothes. The IG models in this conversation see modeling as this glamorous job but are blind to the realities. They aren’t acknowledging the women who move to the US from economically deficient companies that live in model apartments barely getting by. IG models just see success related to sponsorships and likes on posts.
I think that huge designer brands have the resources to be more inclusive.

IG Modes: Tries to twist the questions
Runway Models: "That was not the question"
Me: 👏👏👏
Yes, but at the same time, how can you say you "stand" against photoshopping, but then continue to work in the industry? If you are against photoshopping, something heavily done in the modeling industry, you ought not stand with its practices and policies, and yet she said she has allowed people to retouch her photos and she continues to support the industry despite the things she's against. So even though that was not the question, it is still natural to correlate the two.
@@GenerationNextNextNext however the ig use more photoshop than the runway models so, what was your point?
Sora Gen Next That same girl trying to twist the question said she was against plastic surgery, yet she has done surgery, and look into her ig acc, she might have done boobs or butts too. If she can have opinion on that’s, why can’t the model say she was against photoshopping her photos and also the photoshopping done for the models are not nearly as much as the Instagram models photos. IMO, that insta model is just a hypocrite.
Sora Gen Next they didn’t say they stand against it they said they were not ok with it ! Her job in the industry is to pose for the photos. That’s all they said and the guy said if it was a heavily photoshopped photo he would not do it ! You can’t base the whole industry off of a bunch of people
Sora Gen Next because all their job is, is to pose and create an image that will sell something. They don’t have control as to what happens to the picture after. I worked with ford agency when I was younger, and I every picture was retouched, as a child! The issue is partly consumers, they like the image they see and they buy these things, or use the services being advertised. People say they don’t like image being photoshopped, but they still purchase these from these brands
Runway modeling isn't about just being skinny and tall. The charisma and the overall walking on the runway decides if the model is really 'it'. Regardless of size. Being a runway model is obviously way more difficult than being an instagram model (not against them at all). And this is an obvious fact because the runway/modeling/supermodel industry existed way, way, way before Instagram models.
Can we just talk about the fact that the Runway models have so much class and elegance. I have seen diversity in the modeling industry.

I am a "conventional" model and there is no one who I ADMIRE more than the models who smash through the beauty standards, no filters, natural faces and bodies. This is so important to me
I don't think an "influencer" has ever influenced me to do anything.....
nor me LOL😂😋 And never will to be honest.....
im not even on it anymore some days it would upset me and id be like these people dont know me...they dont know im caring im loving im respectful im kind and honest they are just judging me on how i look so i got rid of it Lol😂
\and im way more happy now i dont have it😋
The only influencer that has changed my life is pewdiepie
I started reading more books, workout, and start keeping up with my body health
But not to disagree at all
Influencers dont do anything
Me too😂😂😂😂
They are tryna "influence" us to buy some stuff lol thats litterally their job
@@berencicek4704 yeah that's what I meant. No influencer has influenced me to buy anything or subscribe to anything
I hate how the girl in the white dress kept trying to argue with facts about an industry she will never know.
🤣🤣🤣 the fact that she looks 40 and not 29.
@@trishabidesi8604 SHES 29?
she really isn't arguing shes saying stuff from her perspective.
Creed Shotgun which is arguing?
Lmaoo like stop talking as though you’re more hardworking than a runway model
5:07 the way Jessica speaks so just 🤌👩🍳💋
13:39 THE WAY ALIZÉE WALKS SHEEESH
21:41 - 22:22 Her advice. So beautiful and impactful regarding confidence for me.
You didn’t have to tell us which ones are the instagram models, we can tell.
no way that guy is 35 he literally looks like hes in his 20s
That's the difference between runway and ig models, their health is a priority
Black don’t WHAT?! (crack)
No he doesn't look like he's in his 20s and that's okay. On top of that 35 is not old.
calm your tits omfg, first off i never even said it was old and second off most 35 year olds I've seen don't look as young as he does which is why i said that
Ik
Instagram has made me way more insecure than runway fashion ever did.
i think ever guy and girl feel's like that....i got rid of mine because there was days i would be upset and....really
i dont know these people they dont know me they dont know im a good guy that is respectful caring loving and kind. Its just about how i look ..so i agree with you 100per cent Brittany
but from a guy that is picky when it comes to girls, you have nothing to worry about your Beautiful🌹 ...and im not been thirsty im just been honest with you!😊
Than that's a U problem since u can't even be confident in ur self
Right cuz those girls definitely dont edit out stretch marks, right? 😑
I hate my height.. I'm too short to become a runaway model 😢
@@Girlelsanna im pretty sure runway models dont limit anyone just because of height. Theres probably agencies everywhere that accept ppl regardless of height
People think too much about themselves when it comes to professional runway models. It isn't about you, it is about the clothes. The fashion designers use one size, thus they need models to fit those standards. It would be so much work having to fit clothes to different sized models, find all those different sized models and hope that they don't let you down on the day.
I'm sorry. I think I still don't understand your point even after reading it couple of times. Care to explain?
@@Kisamon People think runway models need to represent others. It isn't about them, it's about the clothes. There is a reason they use one size.
11:42 i could not stand that girl who said “BRUHH ARE YOU PERFECT??” after gary said he was against PS editing. they both made points but no need to project your insecurities just because you’re not confident in posting unfiltered photos
The instagram models always contradict themselves. First: my body is fine, we're for body acceptance. Then, Photoshop is OK, it sells the clothes.
Also how they say how they promote natural beauty, but 2 out of the 3 got plastic surgery done
Big yikes
promat zzz I think photoshop is okay to a certain extent. Like they were saying as long they still look recognizable, like their self then it’s okay.
@@hallemiller5765 bro, you cant say you are body positive and love your body and then photoshop your body on pictures. Thats a contradiction
andromeda lol, I’m not trying to argue but a lot of people use photoshop to enhance the photo, ad colour filters etc. Not all photoshop is changing the way you look
No wonder Alizeé an international runaway model. She's so elegant oh my
I'mma diamond meh
I watched this video because she was so appealing to me lol
Ikr
Yeah, that's the perfect word to describe her
She's probably French 🤔
Edit: yes she is, my Frenchie radar was right
I can't believe how many times the Instagram models contradicted themselves
The professional models just look so premium and class above
Instagram has everyone out here thinking they're a model
especially with the sun-kissed + sunset photos... RLMFAO
Lmao ikr 4:56 they said not anyone can be a ig model. Bish what
What’s wrong with that
And it's cringy af.
*posts a photo to instagram* I'm a model. Lol
I feel like Mariam was so intimidated by the runway models and tried to put them down when she kept asking if they retouched their photos.
Jealous cow
Madara Uchiha not cow
@@fillyourfeed9317 donkey?
she was just salty
I got that vibe too, she was insecure and you could tell.
notice how different the instagram models talk and the runaway models talk, their hair and makeup too? says alot 😽
I’ll be damned if I’d ever have to call myself an “Instagram model” in front of professional models.
For some reason I’d feel embarrassed 😭
omggggg right?? I don’t know how they aren’t mortified
Same!! Rather stick to being a blogger😭
I would literally die
I would die from embarrassment
Isn’t it crazy how the runway models are seen as super vain but when you hear them talk they’re super down to earth and the “influencers” are the ones that are completely out of touch with reality?
Diego87 chill damn
They just seems more idealistic while the runway models are more realistic
Real Guy Chantelle is really nice tho
Diego87 Not all Instagram models ALWAYS seek attention from men some post to send positive messages or enjoy posting and seeing positive things in their comments.
Yeahhhhh
the runway walk to the chair every time was 🤌🏼💋
alizee is the definition of a classy and fair french madam.
Never did I think there would be a attractive male model named Gary.
Now you've seen two
three
Also his intelligence and everything idk
vad?
Just take out the r
When Gary and the other runway models are better body positive models than the instagram models.
Chantelle was the only one who really displayed body positivity
FOR THE LAST TIME, body positivity is for crippled people and people with bodily disfigurements, NOT THOSE WHO CHOSE TO EAT UNHEALTHY
@@adamsmith1573 well yeah, I have a crooked nose and a flat body, nobody is telling me that that's okay, I want some influencers for people like me

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that! Lol
I'm 42 & she looks older than I do, she's at least my age - if not older.
That chick is about the same age as my sister but she looks like she could be our mother
@@angiew2324she doesn’t look older than you lol, but if it makes you feel better then sure
When Mariam said she's 29, my mouth dropped. Lily Collins recently turned 30 and looks 24, but this woman look almost 40...

Hey, I'm a small skinny 23 year old Japanese guy. Can I be a model? 😂
Thats what models are good for, everything looks good on them. Thats why all the brands use them instead of me and you
The difference is very obvious
I love how polite their conversation is.
the difference between both groups and the energy they give off, the elegance and way to talk is so big, at some point i just wanted only the models to be speaking because damn, let actual smart, not hypocritical and down to earth people talk

am i the only one who noticed that the runway models carry themselves very differently? there's something about them that makes them so graceful and elegant.
Iris Absolutely
Yes! I was just thinking the same thing as well. There's a different feel to them.
Because they are professionals.
the difference between instagram models & runway models is easily apparent. i noticed it as soon as they started doing their "model walk" in the beginning of the video, the instagram models were walking like regular people who were told to walk like a model (which they basically are)
@@justme3846 hey you also mock a clown too you know XD
It’s funny because the instagram models argue about body positivity which I think is great, but the runway models have certain quirks, and don’t change with body trends and that makes me feel joy because I love seeing everybody’s little unique quirk that they have the confidence timidem with
Influencers are always so hypocritical. They all have low self-esteem issues but act like they don’t care what people think when that’s literally ALL they care about. Yet they preach about “being real” and “being themselves”. 🙄🙄🙄
“My job is inclusive for everyone” every instagrammer walks over
“Anyone can do my job” none of them move...
Vada Zambrano those are two different questions. Asking if something is inclusive of size, sexuality and race is different than asking if everyone can do it. The job requires marketing skills, brand building, and thick skin. Not everybody has those skills.
Kady Archibald instagram modeling is not modeling. Also, it is not hard be an instagram model. You post a picture and boom your a model. The number of followers doesnt matter.
Kady Archibald xD that doesn’t take skill just a manager
@@zurmy9413 you just said Instagram modeling isn't modeling but then said you can be a model by posting a photo.../facepalm
Not Enough Chaeryeong yeah, instagram models THINK they are models. I can post 1 picture and boom im a “model”. A real model is a runway model, not someone who posts pictures on social media.
*ig models: we don't retouch our pictures, we are proud.*
I literally took a look at their instagrams and it is blatantly retouched.
yup. 🙄
You can see the stretch marks on the black girl's thighs on her IG so she seems real asf to me.
They never said they didnt retouch their pictures
Illusion_ Central 6:30-6:44
😅😅😅
In my teen years, I used filters and edited my photos and it would make me feel insecure about how I naturally look. Now I've stopped altering my photos altogether and I feel much better sbout myself. These IG models talk about being yourself and loving your body, but there is no way you can truly do that if you feel the need to photoshop your pictures
It's not just the matter of body positivty. What they didn't take into account is that these runway models are gifted with great facial features (symmetry, ratio etc) that actually seperate them form the mass and in comparison, the influencers are nothing special. You can say they are all beautiful in their own ways but that is something that no plastic surgery can help.
plastic surgery can transform you.
