Diversity in this case can also be called an anti-white agenda. Even in countries where white people are the vast majority, you only see non-white models
Damn man. I wish I could have awesome hair like that! I also would rather be a fashion journalist/wear fast/retail fashion not runway model type stuff - and just take photos/report on the modeling type stuff.
I noticed that Jacquemus casted models for a few of his earlier fashion shows based on the shows overall aesthetic. It resulted in a diverse and interesting looking group of models. Now that his brand has grown, he’s using more well known “super models”, but I thought his previous casting choices were cooler
The models from the past were more conventionally attractive. I think the fashion industry is moving towards "unattractive" faces or features you don't normally see. But pretty is still pretty. A rose will always be prettier than a rock no matter how perceptions shift.
Definitely agree unconventional beauty is trending has been since the 00s but commercial Modeling still prefers that classic look high fashion likes that weird type of beauty
I’d say unique rather than unattractive. I think people have just gotten sick of seeing the same looking conventionally attractive models again and again
Yeah like more of the least likely person you’ll see in media or real life rather than being handsome or something idk, don’t even know why I’m here 😂😂
Yh they only need to be tall and the chlothing pieces need to look good on their body that's it. I don't think the modelling industry really care about the face nowadays becuase most of the times I see that they select people that are tall but not with a "attractive" face but rather "wierd" or "unusual" .
I used to model but since I wasn’t tall or lanky enough for runway it was mostly print and promotional. It can be fun and glamorous but back in the ‘90s there was also a lot of sexual harassment, fetishizing, etc. On one shoot I was a teenager and had to pose with a much older man who was in a bathtub. I was all wetted down in a sheer dress and he was in swim trunks. It was very uncomfortable and the designer apologized to me later for that. He held onto my hips even when the camera wasn’t shooting, and he was the photographer’s boyfriend! And it’s rare to be able to make a living from that alone. I’m really glad to see more diversity now! Hopefully there’ll be more inclusion for older gals and maybe I’ll get work again❤
Lol all these models look like aliens now days. Like you want me to buy your Nike shoes but I’m supposed to relate with a Korean/Estonian/Jamaican that looks effeminate and dorky
Ever since I lost weight, I’ve been watching this channel and am so intrigued by human nature in general. Looks matter so much. That’s something you don’t pay attention to when you’re fat and overweight since the world just ignores you, writ large. Looks matter.
I do find it interesting I meet a lot of men who do not like tall women, and they actually find a lot of models to not be attractive. Their words (extremely ugly) . I do wonder if the modeling industry is pushing so far in finding extreme faces and looks that being a model is no longer the standard for attractiveness. As an artist I have an appreciation of all the strong dimorphic features however I am inclined to agree that the most attractive women I have met were not in the modeling category and many of the modeling looks come off far too aggressive or alien for me to ever aspire or idolize as an epitome of attractiveness. It would be interesting to see a study on if models in the modeling industry were rated highly for attractiveness among males and females compared to women on Instagram/ or not in the modeling industry. Thank you for the content as always :)
As a Man i dont find 99% of professional female models attractive, It seems their faces only appeals to woman public, also their body seems very strange, only looks good with ALL body covered clothes, in a bikini its like something its off, i think their legs are too thin, If they are more bulkier It would balance a little better
I think it’s because most people are not tall so most men are not tall. Yes your average man is taller than your average women. However your average man is not necessarily taller than a taller than average women. And straight men tend to want a women who doesn’t exceed them in height. When it comes to tall men I don’t think they’re hung up on a women’s height and more concerned with her overall beauty. At least I’ve never heard a tall man talk about his distain for tall women.
Most androgynous looking female models are to please the female and gay male gaze. If modeling required people to have aesthetics that please the male gaze, that would be the playboy models and pornstars. Pretty sure most men would find those more attractive than even the best runway supermodels
I think men like what they can reach, no pun intended)) but for attractivness being normal looking, average is quite important, because it is familiar and naturally beatiful. But on the other note, what people say, often does not match the reality. In the presence of high fashion model type people sometimes will act a fool no matter what))
The biggest consistent thing I've noticed in modeling are the requirement for wide set eyes, a protracted (strong) jawline, fuller lips, high cheekbones, and of course height. It's extremely rare to see a model with a recessed jaw (as the lips are thinner, the eyes more close set, the face flatter or concave, and the person is generally less attractive)
you don't look at enough models then, or are only looking at commercial models. There are MANY runway models that have a degree of recession; it was actually trending a few years ago and yes "regular" ppl were calling them ugly but they were still getting hired@@wailbezzaz7966
00:03 Learn about the facial features that modeling agencies are looking for. 01:48 Models are generally chosen for being above average tall and attractive 03:43 Physical attractiveness is a key factor in the modeling industry 05:38 Beauty conventions have become more inclusive of different racial features 07:30 The main point is that attractive faces are preferred for representing a brand. 09:27 Mature features like prominent cheekbones and defined cheeks are attractive in Western culture. 11:26 Being hired in the modeling industry is correlated to having a commanding and intimidating aura. 13:21 The prevalence of androgynous models is increasing and likely will increase into 2024. 15:12 Modeling agencies prioritize racial or ethnic ambiguity 17:01 Fashion brands prioritize unique and artistic faces in high-end Couture modeling. 18:39 The fashion industry is unpredictable and it's difficult to predict future trends.
When I was in my teens and early 20s, I was naturally quite thin (like size 2 or 0). Back then, I thought maybe I could become a print model, due to being 5’3”. Also, I thought that being East Asian (specifically Korean) would make me standout. I even took modeling classes and briefly went to NYC for a model/talent competition. However, it ended up being a waste of money. This was also before Asian models became popular. Now that I’m in my early 40s, I have an average (size 6-8) figure. Aging definitely slows metabolism. However, I do take steps in order to slow down aging, such as skincare, eat less and exercise more, drink green tea daily, etc.. While I’m glad there’s more racial and size diversity in the modeling industry, it’s still a very competitive and challenging field to become successful in.
ur first mistake was trying to be a model at 5’3. i’m the same height, and i’d rather become the designer for the models than the model itself. don’t be a fish trying to climb a tree when ur more built to swim up a river instead
@@clay1shere Funny you should say that because I studied apparel (aka fashion) design at a university for awhile and tried to start selling my designs online, but that didn’t work out either.
why do so many people on the comments talk about models like theyre not real people with feelings and keep calling them ugly and unattractive, theres even a comment saying theyre just a hanger... is bullying a trend now. i believe that everyone is attractive in their own way
@@Khooni-p3i well it's not for just existing because modeling and shoots take so many hours plus you have to take extreme care of yourself everyday and if they're not supermodels they don't get much money for it its not as easy as just being pretty but yeah i agree it's jealousy
I get your point but everyone's not attractive. Everyone are meant to be tho. The reason these models tend to get hate is because they are envious obv, but also because these models don't fully conform to the Western standards or any other standards for that matter. People just find them unique and not familiar due to not having averageness with respect to their general population. Also most models are malnourished to look skinny this is not healthy at all and does deserve the hate that it gets
Lmao, you hardly see this in the male modelling industry. And even then the highest paid male models make just one or two million per year, compared to the tens of millions that the female results of nepotism gets.
True if you are poor you have 0 chance in that industry unless you want to work min wage promotional jobs or work for glamour magazines that pay you pennies 🤗
@@dm-jf5uu no, you can still have a chance even if you are poor, its all about looks and structure. if you success in modeling or any kind of job including that, going from poor to rich sets a great example for your reputation because others will know you as hard working and not just “i grew up off money” and “i bought my way in”
Thats because women are valued based solely on our our looks, which pays well for the privileged few who meet all of the bauty standards and also already have status @P..770
I'd appreciate the measurements being given in cm as well, e.g. as text. Everyone except the USA uses the metric system and that would be a great service to them.
@@user-th3ez5sj9y it's probably a tradition thing more than anything i think. but I like interchanging between the systems. I like feat inches for height idk why but i can just picture 6ft better than the cm measurement and ditto acers vs hectares.
I believe the shift in models not necessarily being conventionally attractive anymore is due to social media. The modeling world would seem to be more achievable if the standards remained the same.
On a sociological level, I imagine it could be less unhealthy for the public to be exposed to models with uniquely unusual looks, more than being inundated by so many models of conventional perfection. At least I would expect that wouldn't pound in the same standards for most people to compare themselves against. But rather it could be healthier to view models as figures of un-relatable strange beauty. Not a specific standard to aspire to. Also those faces are just more captivating to me !
I worked at an important Chanel runway show and saw the models up close, backstage. Two or three were actually beautiful, even with no makeup on. The rest... well... Some weren't that tall (even shorter than me, and I'm 1.73m/5 ft, 8.1 in), one was VERY bandy-legged, another was scrawny and not well-proportioned, and the others had really plain, unattractive facial features. When they walked the runway, they had tons of makeup on, so you couldn't tell, but I expected a top brand presenting its new high fashion collection to be more selective, considering that those models came from all over the world... And that wasn't the only case (I've been working for the fashion industry for more years than I can count).
these "Beautiful Models" look the SAME to me. I remember in the 80s 90s and early 2000s when the modeling world would talk about the latest IT Model who looked EXACTLY like the previous It Model from the year before. Same features, same coloring etc. High Fashion LOOK for Runway are not necessarily about Beauty but Presence and Projection.
Precious Lee would have been such a good example to put in the curve model part. She's the most sought after curve model at the moment but her cheekbones are sooooooooo defined it's nuts. 10/10 perfect face, she looks like an illustration and I don't think she's had surgery
Thank you, Qoves, for acknowledging that promotional modeling agencies existed, or still exist. Also, thank you for acknowledging that the 90's feminine beauty standards were STRICT!! The IDEALS were either the Victoria's Secret Angels, supermodels such as Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, etc.. ... and the most successful Playboy Playmate centerfolds such as Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Anna Nicole Smith, Jenny McCarthy, etc..
@@bambooprincess3495 Playboy Playmate centerfolds WERE ABSOLUTELY PROFESSIONAL MODELS. They were professional nude models and obviously had the bodies of professional swimsuit/lingerie/fitness models. Those Playmate centerfolds, pictorial models, cover models, promotional models and Playboy Bunnies were all chosen out of tens of thousands of young women who thought they could do professional modeling because they were lean, voluptuous, athletic, photogenic and sultry-looking. The average-looking women in those days didn't even entertain the THOUGHT of just trying out for that magazine - the most popular and successful men's magazine of ALL TIME!! So, yes, these young women WERE actually professional models. They WEREN'T sex workers. They were chosen by corporate enterprises to pose for EXTREMELY LIMITED POSITIONS - no pun intended. There were SO FEW ACTUALLY CHOSEN by top-level executives in the publishing/entertainment/modeling business. IG "models" are mainly "influencers" who chose THEMSELVES to pose for their own photoshopped/digitalized artistic pics. It's a great marketing strategy to tag themselves as "models." I know there are women out there who feel bad about their bodies. They (probably) compare themselves to the MOST STUNNING images on social media, or the best-looking actresses/models in the media. There's NOTHING WRONG with having high standards and comparing oneself to gorgeous women in the media!! But if any woman does that, she should compare herself to someone she resembles - NOT someone who ISN'T REALISTIC FOR HER!! If she doesn't measure up in ANY way, shape or form, she'll just feel MISERABLE, and possibly worse!! Not good! People need to be realistic in their self-perceptions AND to receive GENUINE feedback from others IRL - in person. Lies and exaggerations to make others feel better AREN'T necessary beneficial!!
@@bambooprincess3495 The fashion models have SPECTACULAR VIDEOGRAPHY/LIGHTING on those runways!!! You see them on TV and it's like a photoshopped video. In person, the special lighting helps to make them look polished and perfected. Imho, fashion models were always TOO tall. The slightly shorter or average-height lingerie models LOOK BETTER with idealistic measurements and a voluptuous, but lean physique. They DON'T look too thin... They look well-proportioned - not too thin and not too curvy. Those 90's Playboy centerfolds WERE IDEALISTIC - more than the overly tall and lean supermodels. They actually had better bodies and many were perfectly proportionate.
@@bambooprincess3495 Lighting can absolutely disguise or diminish the appearance of cellulite or create 'smoke and mirror effects' with silhouettes, facial features, etc. Hooters Girls that looked like iconic Playboy Playmates or swimsuit models made A LOT more money than the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders back in the day. The NFL cheerleaders made NOTHING. I hope they're getting a better salary today for all their dancing skills.
@@bambooprincess3495 It's at 4:20 when he mentions promotional modeling agencies/gigs. I did promotional modeling/sales for Victoria's Secret fragrance boutiques during the holiday season, when they FIRST opened up. That's just one example. There were a lot products different products to promote that required a specific look that attracted attention, a friendly personality and sales skills. Instead of just hiring sales people, some companies opted to hire 'promotional models' to sell their products, knowing they'd make more money through specific in-person promotions. I also did club promotions for Budweiser but I didn't like the environments. Great money tho. Personally, I wouldn't want to be a fashion model. If I had been tall, I would have sucked at competitive gymnastics. I would NEVER trade in my experiences in gymnastics for a few modeling gigs. I was a strong little girl BEFORE the gymnastics. And having a strong, athletic and aesthetic-looking body as a teen, WITHOUT having to work at it at all, was an absolute gift I'm grateful for.

They weren't genuinely gorgeous, photogenic or talented." The above sentences you wrote were all trolling. This could have been an interesting discussion but you had to ruin it with false sentences and info. As far as Jenny McCarthy, I read her autobiography a long time ago, and I'm genuinely HAPPY for her that she was able to turn a possible negative experience into an extremely successful and admirable career in media entertainment!!! She did EXTREMELY WELL for herself!! Her beauty and sex symbol status, besides her personality, wit, intelligence, toughness and perseverance, helped her achieve it!! As far as Hooters Girls, they HAVE to look great in their little outfits every day. That plays a huge role in the kind of tips and regular clientele they get on a regular basis. So no, Hooters management can't just hire anybody - no pun intended. I was scouted at one of the most overpopulated and upscale malls in the US to work as a Hooters Girl. Two corporate reps picked me out of hundreds of young women that day. That had to mean I was above average in looks - both face and body.
I just think the "mature" features like high cheekbones are naturally attractive because they signal sexual maturity. So it makes sence that a female face with a mix of neotenous AND mature features would be more attractive than a female face that just looks like a childs face. 🤷🏻♀️
Speaking of your comment that's not true. Because men like youthful girls are considered cuteness and politeness to those with baby faces, also many men around the world don't like girls who look older and have these bone like structures. I myself have a baby face and I'm proud of it because it's clear and youthful and many people considered me cute and beautiful they don't consider that unattractive and the baby faces don't need so much makeup either and many actresses have small faces with no cheekbones. And you're wrong not everyone considers cheekbone women sexy
@@kill3r_qu33n it is true though, girls with youthful features AND high cheekbones are more attractive than girls without high cheekbones. If you saw photo examples you would understand. I mean im sure peedos prefer childrens faces wuth no visible bone structure but by NORMAL non perverted standards youthful faces that look above the age of puberty are more attractive. And high cheekbones are a signal that someone has not only gone through puberty but that they have a superior immune system. I didnt say men prefer elderly wizened wrinkly old faces... I said neotenous faces with high cheekbones. You are not thinking very astutely
Nope that's not true in our culture they don't look at high cheekbones as sexy and most of us don't have high cheekbones and strong jawlines but that doesn't make us unattractive and peedos even look at high cheekbone girls too, even an ugly girl they would call beautiful. And the more Younger the better i know many cheekbone girls that were rejected. People look at the personality that makes a person attractive not who has high cheekbone or not. Many cultures love a heart shaped and round face if you have cheekbones and your face is full of acne and breakouts you won't be considered as attractive and western models especially American models are not exotic excuse me. I don't believe in such ridiculous videos beauty comes in all forms because God made us. And that's probably your opinion not others
This was something really interesting I noted because I would've expected modelling agencies to look for yournger features because of how society deals with ageism and targeting women's insecurity and wanting them to be more young because it's appealing. I would've never expected the mature features, it was really interesting to note.
Yet another super interesting video! i guessed high cheekbones and androgyny would come up, but the reasons why blew my mind, especially the neonate/mature segment, which all makes sense now. I guess ethnic ambiguity was also something i imagined with regards to a more modern/recent trend in the modelling world as even fashion companies want to be perceived as more inclusive and i think ethnic ambiguity bleeds into the 'uniqueness' quality too in some respect. im half spanish half indian and i always love people trying to guess where my parents are from!
This is because their model standard from back then is so easy to obtain now. Usually, high fashion tries to stay away from mainstream beauty standards.
but, although little, there is still space for non-adroginous models. for example there is Enya who has a very round and teenage face or the Sara Grace Wallerstedt does not have such a strong jaw, being "only" 1.76 tall which is considered an average size for female models who parade but on the other hand, she has a long neck. Anyway, another great Qoves video
I know why I can't be a model : I'm super short. Im like 5"3 ish, average looking although I'm grateful that I have clear skin that still isn't enough to make me a model.
@@ML-rs7wehey we're not ugly. There is so much that goes in to being a model. Its NOT just a pretty face and being Tall. Its facial bone structure, skin condition (all over), proportions of the limbs, having good symmetry in acceptable range etc.
Itd be interesting to see how different looks impact life outside of dating and modelling. Like which make up style gets u better treatment and what makes ppl avoid u, oh and is there anything like the sweet old lady affect where ppl trust certain faces more? Aka what do i have to do to leave me alone vs get ppl to help me or pay for my drinks lol
I've noticed that for women, the "no make up" make up look + classic/smart casual clothing style is the best option: you'll less likely be infantalized, dismissed, or overlooked, and people will actually listen to you when you talk! However, if your main goal is to trigger sympathy and protectiveness in people, maybe try a more innocent look: pastel colors, florals, etc. Having a very child-like cherub face also helps a lot; people with such look do struggle more with being taken seriously though. Just my observations.
@@ms.terrious it's not really about the style. I look really cute, have round face, small, petite, delicate figure and people tell me all the time that I'm looking cute, even if I'm angry. I get a lot of help, people See me and think I'm innocent, naiv, .... and I don't wear cute styles, more black, blazer, classy. My friend is tall, curvy, more like Sofia Vergara. Men pay her everything, but she get sexualized a lot and people think automatically she is sexually experienced, on me the opposite.
Reality: everyone will treat you better even if you're an ugly woman, irrespective of makeup, as men are desperate for female attention and women lie about the harsh reality of looks, ever heard the phrase "you're a 10"?
OMG SECOND COMMENT!! - Qoves i been watching you guys since your early days on both my YT accounts! Thank you for teaching us the science and sociology behind looks and aesthetics!
This may not be directly tied into what we’re talking about today in this video, but I just wanted to say thank you because since watching this channel, I’ve realized how attractive I actually am. I used to think that I was just really average or maybe slightly above, but every time I watch a video I realize that I really am beautiful; scientifically speaking and not just personal bias. So thank you. I really appreciate your channel and all your hard work. I feel like this is a place I can say such things without being judged or put down. Everyone is usually very supportive to one another and understanding, so you’ve also created a nice community 😊
It's nice to hear of someone actually becoming more confident due to these videos, lots of commentsrs just are like "okay guess I'm scientifically ugly". Go forth and embrace your newfound power!
is just me or do you notice that runway models have very 'clean' faces. they look like blank slates, literally. for me, even if i shave my face and do all those skin routine things, there's something about my face that makes it look saturated and full. i cant describe the feature they have but it always buggs me that i dont know how to explain it
@@BarronBarca I don’t know maybe that’s why. I don’t know much about the industry and I think all I do know is pretty romanticized from social media. I think I have a very glamorized idea of what the job model is and it’s hard to let go of that until I actually experience it myself. But who knows 😅
I don't know if you already adressed it but if you didn't that would be interesting if you could address how relatively speaking the modeling world is more "open" to differences for women but for men the standards diverge less apparently. For example for women there is regular model but also petite, there are also the plus size models, women can be extremely androgynous to some level where they look like young boys(not in a derogatory way), or they can be the typical highly ultra féminine while I find that men Modeling is much harsher. Even the more féminine men, and non typical male models fall unto very harsh standards, they are all extremely tall, I don't hear of any plus size male model who gaine popularity, even the features of male models seem more cemented for women I find the racial ambiguity more apparent but for men its not so much the racial ambiguity but the same feature with different skin tones. And male models seems to have kept the same look for a long time while women are more various.
I also noticed this in fashion. Sure, the clothes from a long time ago look different but, the formal clothes look the same for men while, women's fashion changed so much both in formal clothes and normal clothes.
male models have always been underrated and there s rarely a male model that actually becomes really famous ( like naomi or kate moss), idk im just gonna guess that the public isnt really that intrested in them
I love the 90.models. These new models you can tell theme apart and they don’t have the wow factors. That’s why I don’t watch the fashions shows anymore.
Okay I'm going to describe myself just to give you an idea of what scouting agents look for. My features are definitely average but thats what i got scouted for. Good luck on your modeling journey!
So, the only thing that stop me from being a model is my height and my shyness, oh, and the fact that i barely leave my house and don't post my face in social media.

I hear people comment on my looks like "wow, are you a model?" quite a lot and when I was about 16, scouts would approach me really often (but I declined), so I used to think I'm good-looking. It took me quite some time to figure out that a comment "model" does not equal "attractive", it just means "you are so tall, I dunno what else to say" and agencies in my country just make money on modelling courses. It honestly can be so misleading when ppl make you such "compliments"
I have an extreme frustration with one aspect of my face: I have "very good" facial and bone structure and generally my face "ticks most of the boxes", but it just has an extreme addiction to stack fat. Many friends of mine have frigging beer bellies and STILL have a jawline. I need to keep my body in a semi-skeleton state to have any facial definition. I go from looking like an absolute trash nerd to getting called "handsome" and "hot" all the time within about 20 pounds of bodyweight. It seems to get better with age, past 30 now it gets easier to keep a leaner face, but it is pretty damn frustrating... why is my face so lipophilic 😂

Greetings Earthlings. I'm not from a Western country and it still boggles my mind that highly cheekbones are considered attractive by Western beauty standards, I used to think it made me look less feminine. Thank you for making these videos, I enjoy how clinical they are! 🙏🏼🩵🤍💜🫶🏼
Within modeling, the traits which are the most feminine such as wide hips and big breasts are typically a complete no go. Female models are often more androgynous and this is linked to why high cheekbones, skinny women with small breasts and no hips is more common.
Wonder how AI generated images will effect the model industry. Like, we are not only getting exposed to more attractive faces in media, but now we have totally unrealistic generated faces in the mix. It is bound to be demoralizing. It is like we humans try to make ourselves inadequate.
Can you also cover androgyny more or beauty in a non-binary way? Not specifically nonbinary people, but I'm just curious as to how certain faces can be still beautiful while not falling into traditionally masculine or feminine standards, or diverging strongly from them.
Jimin of BTS is often cited as an example of a guy who has more feminine-like good looks. As opposed to Jungkook of BTS who is regarded as being more masculine good looking.
I hope modeling agencies will give chance and opportunities to book or hire a model that is not tall or passed the height standard they're looking for but got the face and look that is ideal for print ads,,, a lot of good looking people that is short or petite but their body is well proportioned, looks good on photos and camera that you can't noticed that they're short.
Well a lot of people are obese in the US. If they lost weight and looked normal like people in European and Asian countries, a lot of models would be losing their jobs
It's not just about beauty it's a personality charisma that's what agencies are looking for back in the day all you had to be was pretty but now you do have to have a personality

I know what kind of “unattractive” features you’re talking about 🤭

Yes it is evolution in process, everything is a competition.

It's not rare to see models with recessed jaws, it's impossible
you don't look at enough models then, or are only looking at commercial models. There are MANY runway models that have a degree of recession; it was actually trending a few years ago and yes "regular" ppl were calling them ugly but they were still getting hired@@wailbezzaz7966

The reason these models tend to get hate is because they are envious obv, but also because these models don't fully conform to the Western standards or any other standards for that matter.

Maybe they photo well
I've modeled too and most people I modeled with were attractive and in the top 10% of beauty.
Why do I feel like I was gonna be described as the ugly ones if I was one of the models you saw? Damn- 😭
these "Beautiful Models" look the SAME to me. I remember in the 80s 90s and early 2000s when the modeling world would talk about the latest IT Model who looked EXACTLY like the previous It Model from the year before. Same features, same coloring etc.

It's a great marketing strategy to tag themselves as "models."
I know there are women out there who feel bad about their bodies.
I'm male and I don't like overly neotonous faces
Woah half spanish half indian that's a very unique mix.
Was watching Milan fashion week Versace s/s10 and I saw Chanel Imans walk reminded me how iconic it would be to walk runway

You'll be seeing me on billboards soon ;)
Update? I want to be a model too😢
You are so pretty
QOVES can u talk about Korean Actors Like Gong Yoo from squid game, or Cha Eunwoo?
I've never seen u talking about east asian male before. I think it would be cool if u talk about it❤
he mainly talks about standards in the west because that's where most of his audience so it's unlikely he'll make a video with eastern standards that are totally different
@@travis1271 i see
@@cinamonrollcutie2210 well that's the female😅 im talking about the male
i would watch that
@@travis1271 there's actually a lot of East Asian models, men and women, that are in the High Fashion runway shows now and in Print Ads. But their facial features are more in line with Western Standards which are Chiseled Angular Bone structures than the softer rounder features considered attractive in East Asia.
felix and hyunjin !! 🤍🤍
It honestly can be so misleading when ppl make you such "compliments"
congrats on 500k subs btw, big fan of the channel
Criteria is plural, criterion is singular.
Didn’t mention they also want you to have a big social media following now 🙃
yup I’m a model myself and i’ve been told many times that I look racially ambiguous and now i’m starting to understand more lol
You don't
@@jayjayvah oh ok that’s your opinion :)
It seems to get better with age, past 30 now it gets easier to keep a leaner face, but it is pretty damn frustrating... why is my face so lipophilic 😂
felix and hyunjin✨✨
Modelling looks like being used as an object for fashion designer to experiment on.
To tell stories with..probably more accurate
I’ve struggled with trying to progress in my modeling career and I’m understanding that although the industry is shifting I just have to play in the back til my time to be in the front
@@bambooprincess3495 I’m trying to progress in runway modeling like do more shows in different states. The goal is runway, editorial and catalog modeling. I envision myself being successful at all three. They say a persons success is measured by the work that’s put in but nowadays it seems like connections reflects success. Until it’s my time I’ll be educating and working on my myself and perfecting my craft.
13:34 ommgmgmgm Felix & 13:38 hyunjinnnn
I want to be a model ✨
Stray Kids World Domination!!!
The fact that Felix and Hyunjin were shown individually makes me so happy and proud!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
Be thin, be tall, be beautiful. Thank your genetics. It doesn't change that much.
Being tall but not taller then 5.11
0:17 My "for you" page never has shown me posts on how to become a model.
Maybe after clicking on this video the algorithm might try it with me.
But yeah, don't let your personalized view of social media be what shapes your sense of what's typical for everyone else.
Maybe it is! This is just a general reminder :)
How do i know how i actually look like??
Is mirror accurate???
Fabulous content from and ex model/talent agency owner The industry never stands still ....ever!!
I like it that they're adding more diversity to modeling but I will say that I prefer the 90s aesthetic. The models of that era just had a more captivating look to me. (This is simply my opinion)
How would you define diversity?
Looking at the views so far:), one can assume that there's at least 2 people who have the potential to be a Topmodel
Seems like super thin bodies, gaunt, angular facial features are the esthetic of the moment.
I have an interview tomorrow for an agency, please please send me luck! This is my arc!
Omg I have all of these.. finally
Youre probably lying to yourself, theres a thousand women in these comments saying the same thing. Go become a model instead of telling strangers on the internet for attention.
Greetings Earthlings. I'm not from a Western country and it still boggles my mind that highly cheekbones are considered attractive by Western beauty standards, I used to think it made me look less feminine. I watch videos like this to feel better about it lol. At least Western standards of beauty aren't TOO linked to socioeconomic class (it's pretty ruthless here where I come from).
That's called body dysmorphia. In reality, wider cheekbone area is a feminine sexual dimorphic feature.
@@thanos8638It's just called different beauty standards. For example Korean beauty standards and American beauty standards are WIDELY different.
@@dancingcorpses5750 pretty much every Korean female celebrities I know have wide cheekbones
@@thanos8638 but Koreans are cuter than Americans i think 😍😍😍
Wonder how AI generated images will effect the model industry. Like, we are not only getting exposed to more attractive faces in media, but now we have totally unrealistic generated faces in the mix. It is bound to be demoralizing. It is like we humans try to make ourselves inadequate.
Why you didn't use metric system and imperial system
I use to be a model when was younger❤
Can you also cover androgyny more or beauty in a non-binary way? Not specifically nonbinary people, but I'm just curious as to how certain faces can be still beautiful while not falling into traditionally masculine or feminine standards, or diverging strongly from them.
it's like a long face with feminine nose or a small face with deep set eyes
Look up positive vs negative androgyny to learn more
Jimin of BTS is often cited as an example of a guy who has more feminine-like good looks. As opposed to Jungkook of BTS who is regarded as being more masculine good looking.
Hi guys I am Pauline from Uganda I love modeling and I love you guys❤❤❤❤❤
Androgynous models have been quite popular the past few seasons.
deadass i needa start mewing
Can i become a model and business woman both???
I hope modeling agencies will give chance and opportunities to book or hire a model that is not tall or passed the height standard they're looking for but got the face and look that is ideal for print ads,,, a lot of good looking people that is short or petite but their body is well proportioned, looks good on photos and camera that you can't noticed that they're short.
I see many girls on the street who look just as good as the models in the pics you showed. I dont believe thats only 2-3% of the population
Well a lot of people are obese in the US. If they lost weight and looked normal like people in European and Asian countries, a lot of models would be losing their jobs
so true! @@harsh3948
Brutal leanpill@@harsh3948
It's not just about beauty it's a personality charisma that's what agencies are looking for back in the day all you had to be was pretty but now you do have to have a personality
@@Model_Roeand professionalism. Not just anyone can be a model , it is a job at the end of the day. Out of 100 pretty people, who will have the charactet to continually be resilient in the face of rejection, deliver strong photos that brands can use commercially, not be fussy when asked to wear and style themselves in a style they don't particularly like, has the commitment to pursue a restrained diet all the time etc. It takes a lot more than being pretty
Tbh that like what everyone sounds like when the meds come out in the pychriatric ward you're giving me ptsd already.
i strongly dissagree with the skin thing, cuz most of runway models have skin problems.
It's my dream to become a model since younger
Basically they want biracial and multiracial
seeing Felix and hyunjin in this video had me SHOOK stray kids everywhere all around the world 🤞
Step 1: Be tall and pretty
🥺
Facs
Pretty is optional, plenty of weird looking models
Modelling is my dream
Who are the models in the thumbnail?
1. Height
2. Body demensions
3. Angular face
4. Easy to work with
