Just bought a 2023 , same color package except mine has black package (grille, mirrors, font, roof rails all black) everything but 4wd , couldn't find one within 500 miles with these options and 4wd. I love the way it looks. Only thing is power. If it could have been tuned with more hp and torque. But for the price ($50k) what else is there to buy that doesn't look so vanilla
Great for tall drivers. I’m 6’7 and drive a 2017 pathfinder. The most headroom in its class at 42.2 inches. This new model kept that headroom. Thanks Nissan! They drive like they’re on rails.
This video convinced me to purchase the 2023 Nissan SL yesterday. Thank you for the thoughtful review, very detailed, excellent speed and video quality-thank you for taking the time to share your review!!!
I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 223,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.
Yes I agree. We used to have a 2003 Xterra and did the maintenance as yours. That car lasted 15 yrs and racked up so many miles. We literally drove that car 140 miles a day because of work for 4 years. Never had an issue until I had an accident and damaged it. We bought Pathfinder in 2012 and still love it up to this day.
Had a 2015 altima, warranty replaced the tranny at 80,000 miles, died again at 120,000 mi. Nissan Mechanic told us that we should just drive on flat roads not mountain roads. Seriously...I live in northern cali. But otherwise, was a great drive.
Bought the 2022 Pathfinder Platinum in Obsidian Green with Chestnut Leather. I am 6ft 5in and have plenty of legroom and headroom. Driving is like comfortably floating down the road. I have been buying Ford and Lincoln for 30 years. I would say it's my first foreign car but it is actually built in Smyrna TN. I refused to pay thousands over MSRP on a Telluride no matter how much I like it. I really think the Pathfinder is a great candidate for 2022 SUV of the Year.
I had the 94 SE and drove it for 6 years. This vehicle reminds me of the TRUE pathfinder classic. I really want one. Designer, fantastic job. Nissan, amazing work!
FYI: I test drove a 2022 Pathfinder SL 4WD here in Central Texas where it was 100 degrees today on 7.29.21.. the reason I wanted to test drive one was to see how the AC worked because I saw a few reviews that said the AC didn't get cold enough...and they were RIGHT...The AC did NOT get cold enough IN THE 100 degree weather today.. I had the AC set to recycle the air from the inside air with AC button pressed and had it set to the lowest setting which was 60 degrees and the air did not feel crisp enough and would get warmer when u slowed down ,I also un pressed the AC button and that did not help..I own a 2015 Pathfinder SV and the air gets colder in it when I have it set to 70 degrees with the air being recycle from the inside air and the AC button is not pressed..Needless to say I was disappointed..matter of fact we help my mother in law buy a Nissan 2021 Kick last week and the AC gets colder then the New 2022 Pathfinder..Nissan please fix...Here in Texas if the AC isn't cold enough then nothing else matters with all the other new features...I definitely recommend testing one out on a HOT day before buying one..
Thank you for this. I live in Vegas and people have been reporting this same issue with their ACs on the brand new Mazda CX50. I’m confused on why carmakers are not testing their brand new cars in more extreme weather areas with the rate of climate change
This new model doesn’t look too bad. I spent a lot of time riding around in a early 2000’s Pathfinder. It was pretty comfortable at the time. The Holland Tunnel was $6 at the time.
This is one of the best reviews I’ve seen excellent work wish I could afford the Platinum but I’m probably gonna have to go with SL but hey the SL is still a very great trim
Basically, the difference in the platinum and SL premium package is: 1. No foot activated lift gate (wife never uses it) 2. No power tilt/telescoping wheel (I'm good with it, minus another electric motor) 3. No HUD (I don't like them) 4. No cooled seats ( I don't use mine now) 5. Better trimmed seats in the Platinum 5k difference? I'll save my money :-) One thing, there is no upper hooks for a cargo net close to the rear door. We have one and it does come in handy. I do like the fact you can lock the vehicle from the liftgate. They are comfortable and that was the whole reason we got our '18.
Finally!!! This is THE most no nonsense showing of a vehicle I've ever seen! No personal opinions on what the videographer likes on or about the vehicle. From bumper to bumper you touched on everything in the vehicle. I have the exact same model only Mocha almond pearl & a regular sunroof instead of the panoramic roof. It was a couple of little things about my Pathfinder I had questions about, but they were clearly answered in this video. Job well done! 👍🏾👍🏾
This is a really in-depth and objective review, not a lot of them out there. Aside from that, I'm glad to see signs of Nissan coming back to life after the crushing cost cutting and cheaping out under Carlos Ghosn. They just need to ditch all the CVTs except in their smallest and lightest vehicles, and follow the same design formula as the Pathfinder.
Wish if the volume/tune nobs were down with the rest of the buttons to allow Nissan to fit a bigger screen.. but the one the Pathfinder comes with is not still not bad in terms of size
Great review of the car. Mike forgot about the clip-in removable centre console in the second row between the captain's chairs. He also missed the open shelf area below the front centre console. Otherwise, a very thorough review. Thanks.
This model has definitely come a long way. I am thinking of letting this be my next car got the brochure also while at my local dealer saw Black SL was sold my long time friend salesman said they had four in stock but all were sold he said they will have a white one think this week. Glad doesn't have that dumb CVT anymore the styling looks beautiful though look at online doesn't do the justice. I see these are going sell mighty well than previous generation that was a soccer slashed wagon looking car, this new model has grown up like a baby Infiniti they really hit this baby out of park. Thank you so much Mike doing a review of the 2022 Pathfinder.
Does it feature a sealed transmission, or it has a despotic that owner would have a chance to monitor when that Jatco radiator fails and engine coolant gets mixed with transmission fluid like it often tend to do ultimately destroying that wonderful ZF transmission?
@@MikesCarInfo Thank you, Mike. Does the tow package version at least has a stand alone transmission fluid radiator, separate from engine coolant radiator or is one unit with two loops? Thank you again.

Appreciate the attention to detail. I noticed when you placed the box on the back of the 3rd row seats that there really isn't a lot of space from the seat back to the ceiling. 30" maybe? Would love if a youtuber would take these types of dimensions. No one does it, and I think many would love to see dimensions
hi, im just confused on the gear shifter. Do I really have to press the button to change to drive mode cause it works even though I dont. But I need to push it for reverse cause it is the only that wont work if I dont press the button first.:)
I’m curious. Anyone having shifting problems? I heard, first gear is real short and it hunts for a gear at highway speed. It might be the different driving modes. I’m really liking the SL premium package, but I’m not sold on the ZF.
This is a great review and it helped me to look more closely at the 2022. You mention the comfort of the passenger seat, but what I noticed is how low it sits. At 5'7", I struggle to see over the dashboard. As one other potential buyer said to me, "I feel like I am sitting on the floor."
I bought one almost three months ago and the only issue I have is the low front passenger seat. It is practically on the floor and I wish there was a fix for it. I don't understand the logic in having the seat permanently set that low.
