- Thrift with me, Ph.D. Antiques Appraiser Dr. Lori, as I share a rare behind-the-scenes look from the Goodwill E-commerce center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. I found artwork worth thousands of dollars that at the time of this taping was available to people like you to #thriftshop and buy online. Watch me show you the deals and how to pick the good from the bad works of art when #shopping. Plus, learn to identify a painting's age by the color of the canvas. I show you!
Kinkade, Botero, and Luongo are just some of the artists I discovered with works at the e-commerce center. Watch me show you smoke damaged works to avoid and how to tell a pastel. I also uncover an unexpected work made with sea shells worth $5,000.

Yep. I've had employees tell me when I was buying a piece of art: "Oh that shouldn't have even been put out.. normally they keep anything signed in the back."... That didn't make me feel very good about shopping there. What's the point of even going to their stores if they're back-rooming all the good stuff?
It doesn’t make me feel good about donating items either.
Thank you Dr. Lori, you've taught me so much. I would have passed by the shell picture thousands of times lol
Everybody wants to go shopping with you! Thanks for teaching us!👍👍😎
Thank you again for all you do to help us out. I learn so much from you and appreciate all you do. God Bless
Your videos of Goodwill finds keep getting better and better and better! I love them 😊
No matter how many Dr. Lori videos I watch, she STILL manages to teach me something useful every time! Dr. Lori is great for my business, but even more, Dr. Lori is a REAL PLEASURE to learn from.
You are so welcome!
Such a shame they can not be found in the store anymore.
The internet changed MANY businesses.
@DrLoriV Yeah, Goodwill used to be nice. Now you walk in there, and it is all used wallmart crap. It definitely has changed, for sure.
Dr. Lori fabulous video. Thank you so much beautiful artwork
Thanks for showing us some art through your eyes. Not all of it would fit in my home decor but I really enjoyed learning about new artists and the history of different styles. Thanks Dr. Lori.
I'm so glad! Please share.
I have never thought about thrifting jewelry but I love art and look for it everywhere I go. You are teaching me a lot.

OMG!!! That picture of the stuffed horses looks exactly like the one I owned growing up. Maybe that was part of a sewing kit that was popular in its day. My father threw all the things that weren't his in the trash when my mom divorced him after we left the house. I've always wondered about that piece. So happy to see that again. It brought back so many memories. Thanks! Dr. Lori!!!
Hi Dr. Lori, I enjoy watching what you find at our local Goodwills! I actually purchased a painting a few years back for like 10 dollars it reminded me of kids playing in a band, anyway I brought it home and I decided to see if it had value and look up the artist and it actually was worth around $150.00 and was delighted! I don't remember the artist, since one of my sons liked it too and when he moved, he wanted to take it to his house! Love a thrift!
The peacock shell piece was absolutely beautiful.
Shocked at the huge dollars. And people donate (give away) the farm! Your words Lori.
Thank for the great video. 🌞
Me too. I am floored that people give away art that's worth $5000 or more! I have to start looking at Goodwill online! Never have before.
So exciting to see the art appraised by you Dr. Lori. What amazing pieces!! Helps so much:) Thank you.
When I was in junior high, we had a friend who was a southwestern artist, ( we lived in New Mexico). She had a gallery showing and another artist at the same show was Aldo Luongo, his first gallery showing. I realized he was very talented and though I didn’t particularly favor his work, I knew his early pieces would be worth a lot in future years. I never forgot his name! This was in the late 60s.
Thank you, Dr. Lori! I just love your enthusiasm for art!
Great to see you! Thanks for filming this.

It's not all just from smoking. Coal or wood burning fireplaces and more than that was oil lamps. But no matter. It's still dirty. I'd bet it's a very nice painting.
Thank you Dr Lori.

I enjoyed this. Thank you!
🤤🤤 I love dr Lori
Great Video
I was at a 2nd hand store right in the border of Philadelphia and Bensalem and found an original oil on canvas; black, white & grey 8x10 signed, A. Kirkham painting, whoever framed it chose a nice black with silver trimmed frame that I think works well with the colors in the piece... Anyway I paid $7.49, it had a pink sticker which made it 50% off of the original asking price of $14.99 that day. I checked before I bought it and while it may not be worth thousands of dollars today, it is worth more than $7.49 and you never know what the future will bring....
Hi Dr.Lori I learn a lot thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
You are so smart
Thank you very much!
Very interesting
Dr Lori could you please take sometime to visit the UK Charity/Thrift Shops. We would love for you to create some content here across the pond 🙏
In a picture that is not signed on the front and has the back sealed, is it wise to remove the backing to verify the artist?
Nice stuff Dr Lori !!!!!!
my mom gave me gibson girl painting prints...and warned me to keep them.
Do you know what they do with the art that does not sell online?
If you don't like the art you could always use the frames for your own art work. Thats a thought..... I am an artist, and always looking for solutions in that.
Thank you Dr Lori such great information ❤
Are these items found on a goodwill auction site?
i suffer from TMI😂

Have you watched my Real Bargains Found videos on the channel?
White gloves and a safety vest? No one else is wearing. No heavy equipment moving around. No heavy lifting. You just want to look uppity
Not trying to look uppity--who looks uppity in an orange vest and gloves anyway?-- The warehouse requires all visitors to wear the orange safety vest and the gloves are to protect the objects which do not belong to me from the oils on my hands that may be transferred to objects and devalue them. Thanks for watching.
It was probably a condition of her being allowed inside.
Watch me explain my gloves in the video at ruclips.net/video/0gxhyPngbHI/видео.html
The 1970s oil on board…IMHO, quite amateurish …and NO signature, as well…$500? In WHAT world?!
My values are based on what people really pay. Actual sales. Believe what you want.
