It's amazing how this car styling has stood the test of time. Usually bold futuristic cutting edge designs become outdated and have that "what were they thinking" effect.

Wow such a beautiful car. I had the poster of this car on my wall. Such a shame the owner can’t drive his way out of a paper bag.
Hi Chuckles, Glad you think this car is "beautiful" :-) The Owner is taking good car of your poster car as he gets to know his machine :-) Lou
countach, the greatest of all time!
Well said, totally agree with this comment

Without a doubt THE UNDISPUTED SUPERCAR of the 80's. While some will argue the 512 boxer or Testarossa was more refined and possibly better engineered it was the Countach that was without a doubt EVERY 80's kids dream!!! Very few cars can match the visual impact that this body style did over 30 years ago. The wedge styling of the Countach was breath-taking that is like a "first crush" in gradeschool. Few will forget about it, and almost everyone acknowledges and still respects the impact this car had in history.
No Doubt, and absolute amazing car. Thank you for sharing your comment, really appreciate it, Lou
Agree!!!
This was every teenage boys dream car from the 1980s, I had the exact one as a poster, same colour, even in 2022 its still mind boggling, it's just stunning, OK it's incredibly impractical but it's a work of art on wheels, how lucky he is to own it, good on him. 👍

Beautiful and timeless beauty-sounds great....I always wondered why the engine sound on the Countach featured in the Cannon Ball Run I intro sounds so unique compared to others.

I love v12 sound. It is an acquired taste.
White on white 87 is a investment car not something you beat on.
Lou; try to reach out to the man who bought the original black testarossa repainted white for that 80s t.v. show ;)
Hi Hot80's, Glad you enjoyed the sound :-) Agreed the car is to not be enjoyed. Where is this black car at? Lou

Well said Bob :-)
If you owned one you would get that it isn't that easy to drive.
That's what I'm saying. He's driving it like he bought it and paid good money for it. I would baby the hell out of that thing. I'm not a coke lord, 80s rock star, or famous football player that can just rag the hell out of it and then just ditch it for another. I would treat that car with care and respect.

The sound of the engine, when not revved hard, is not as loud as I had imagined; however, when it is revved hard, the sound that comes out of the V12 engine is a work of art!

Hi Armed Ferret, My description is as crazy as someone swimming with otters :-) Stay well, Lou
The only thing I would do, if I owned one, is take the front windshield wiper off, and just make sure there was no rain in the forecast

Wow this is my favorite car of all time!
HI Lynx Star Automotive, We have a Winner ! :-) Lou
this a beautiful white on white Lambo. Gota luv tha Countache!!
Such a wonderful poster in the late 1980's, and today years later, finally.. a ride, Lou
Don't blame the owner. Maybe he came into some cash or scrimped and saved....like maybe 400K to make the purchase. Now he gently nurses the car down the road because he's scared shitless and praying that the engine doesn't puke while he ownes it.
I saw one countach on youtube that had a major servicing with carbs rebuilt....not a total engine rebuild but "a service" cost $40K.
So one requires deep pockets to buy and also to maintain!
I almost bought a Ferrari 308 GTSi years ago. The price of the car was reasonable but the absolute FEAR of huge repair bills kept me on the side lines.

Less than 6000 miles on it in late 2016 and it is an 87! Wow, that car is in pristine condition. I STILL have a poster (wrapped in plastic) on my wall of the 87 Countach except it is red. I like the white better though. THE dream car of the 80s. I kind of like the 88's rear body style a little more, but I still love them both equally!
He’s approaching what is arguably the most iconic car ever made any comments on the foot rest? That’s like somebody touring the lunar lander, and saying that. “ I really appreciate where that handle is. That’s a very smart move.”
....stay tuned :-)
He said the gears are so low when he stops he said he is going to start in second. Then he puts it in second and Burns the crap out of his clutch to take off. Come in bruh. You're killing me. Drive how it's designed to drive. Don't improvise. They knew what they were doing when they designed the car

I love that windshield wiper. But not as much as you filmed it lol
That's funny :-)
Honestly, the windscreen wiper is really an annoying obstruction in this video.
Nice car , but i really think the owner need some driving lessons :) this is clearly not his type of car ! maybe a Nisan or Toyota would be better .
Now you have a good idea! Since you spelled Nissan wrong I'm guessing you don't have one of those, so please bring your Toyota over so you can show us how to drive it? It's going to be a blast going from a Lamborghini Legend to your car, goody, goody goody, gee, I can't wait......
Well to tell you the truth i would be happy too , I have owned over 90 cars in my lifetime from a mini to a number of Ferraris , my first Ferrari was a Dino 246 GT and my last one was a Testarossa , also owned many cars from the UK as well as German cars. I held a full international racing license in the UK for many years racing saloons cars and touring cars , drove rally cars in Canada as well as raced snowmobiles , if you have any doubt to what i have said i would be happy to provide you with photos, oh the one car I have never owned has been a Toyota .
Ok Shaun, You've proved you're a true Car Guy so I'll back off :-) Welcome to the Channel, Lou
"I have owned over", Yep. Always love guys that use that in a sentence.
Nissan GT-R or Lexus LFA, which is really Toyota, Sure!
Maybe you could show him how to drive since you're such an expert and he could teach you how to listen since you didn't seem to hear the part where he mentions that the car was still new to him. love people who when theyve got somthing to say its only negative. : (

And no I'm not rebuilding engines all the time. I still remember seeing a 60 thousand mile 993 carrera S getting a full engine rebuild due to so much carbon build-up atop the pistons whereby the valves started hitting the carbon. The cause? The owner thought that 60 thousand miles under 4000 rpm would have that engine lasting forever. He should have bought a Lincoln instead. Here's another one while driving my 993 supercup down to a local winery. No carbon build-up in this one.

Hi Ed Bighi, Suggestions 1) WHEN YOU WANT TO BE AN EXPERT CRITIC SHOW YOUR CAR, NOT THE GEAR SHIFT IN YOUR VIDEO & YOU'LL GET A LOT MORE THEN 12 VIEWS 2) Starting you comment with "Jesus", his message was "Follow Me" & "Seek to understand" so when a guy is kind enough to share his car for you to enjoy & he's just getting used to the car, cut him some slack, instead of sounding like a know it all. 3) Based on where you reside, we can take your Countach for a ride and I can video & share with Viewer on the Channel and let them share with you what they think. Stay well, and look forward to hearing from you, Lou www.MyCarStoryWithLou.com
What's with these other commenter's telling him to handle the car like a car thief? If you guys owned a car that expensive and that important you would be real careful.
Hi Tim Slee, Well said. I'm careful with his car and I'm the Passenger :-) Lou
Everyone complains about reversing. Why not install backup camera
That's a good idea.
There is a recommended way to how you should backup the Countach in Reverse gear. You simply just lift up the driver-side scissor door, sit on the doorway edge, look back over your right shoulder and go in reverse. It might be a little tricky because your sitting on the doorway edge while stepping on both the clutch and gas peddle.
I am a 30 year Lambo collector. I have 4 Countach. As good as they lock as horrible they drive. The car is a disaster on wheels. How tell people the $500K thing drives like crap?

Was the engine surging at the beginning of the video?
If it was, I'm not sure I was to excited to get in to pay attention :-)
Yes, it was. If this is a 5000QV, it probably needs to have a service on the injector system. Something is not right in the idle. Also, this driver is going to need a new clutch VERY soon the way he's driving it. It's not a problem to skip gears, per se, but his technique of starting off in 2nd gear is burning the clutch to bits.

Goran Radovanovic The first Lamborghinis ever made were tractors. Anyways, truth be told, non-professional drivers really shouldn't push a car like this too hard. It doesn't have a single modern safety piece of electronics. No traction control etc. You can really get yourself into some serious trouble if you don't have some real skills and experience with a car like this when you push it. Plus even a minor fender bender is going to cost ridiculous amounts of money to fix properly

Short gears my ass. They are very long legged. That v12 just has gobs of torque so it's happy in high gears at low speed. It's a shame such a high percentage of guys that can afford cars like these don't know how to pull their hair and go balls deep. Damn shame.
Oh Riceburnter, Be happy he's sharing the car with us... Please, GLASS HALF Full next comment, Lou
Lou Costabile Your right. To each is own. But come on. You liked riding in it more than this guy seems to like owning it. Valentino Balboni autographed...... So that car has been wrung out.
at 11:47 Ohhh this poor car, what did he start in second? that poor suffering clutch. I like how you kept encouraging him to let that v12 sing and he keeps pussy footing it. I understand you don't flat foot it when your new to the car but he can let the engine rev out and sing....instead he keeps shifting early and even skipping gears to keep the rpms extra low...so disappointing for a Lambo vid here.
