Hi Captian FALKEN, Glad you enjoy this "Super Sweet" Super Bee :-) I like the way you think. I receive those blessed words and hope the Channel grows to the point that that will happen soon, Lou
The transmission howl takes me back.. The difference between a course gear A883 and a fine spline. 1 sounds like it belongs in a truck ( it's very robust inside) and the other was fairly quiet yet still pretty strong. Chrysler got it right on the 71-74 B bodies when they relocated the shifter. It was further back, and closer to the driver for a much easier driving position, and easier gear changes. I had a 69 Charger R/T with the 4 speed and even though it had the Hurst shifter, it had a LONG handle with more bends in it than the Tail of the Dragon road. LOL . I have long legs and a shortish torso, so I was always fighting to stay put in the seat while shifting. This was not the case in a 72 Charger Rally 340 4 speed I got to drive several yrs ago. That car had the factory console but the shifter was right there. I barely had to extend my arm for 1st and 3rd. A very nice ride and way more comfortable for me than my 69 ever thought of being. Anyway, ride-alongs are cool. If you can, post some more!
Hi Adam Trombino, Thank you for viewing and sharing :-) Regarding "ride-alongs" type into RUclips search "My Car Story with Lou Ride" and you'll see some you'll enjoy. Lou

In I think it was 1973-4, I went to the Wednesday night drag races at PIR in Oregon. Interesting...I knew the '71 Super Bee was based on the Charger, but I didn't know that it was named and badged that way. The 68-70 Super Bees were based on the Coronet but weren't officially named or badged as a Coronet, although some people did call them Coronet Super Bee. So, essentially all of the '71 Super Bees were Charger Super Bees and out of the 5,054 produced, only twenty-two had the hemi engine. And out that twenty-two hemi's, 13 had Torqueflite automatics and 9 had the four speed. And this is one of the nine with the factory 4 speed. That's pretty impressive.
@@loucostabile Your other video of this car, which is twice as long, just showed up in my recommendations. It was enjoyable. In 1970 it was a Dodge Coronet Super Bee. I think those loud lifters need adjusting. I wonder how many gallons of gasoline he went through in those 7 minutes?
Hi MrJohnnyDistortion, Thanks for sharing your knowledge and regarding the gas used in those 7 minutes, I'm not sure but the smiles per miles has me smiling REALLY wide the whole ride :-) Lou
@@loucostabile Oh, shucks, I was just reminiscing of my fuel usage in my '70 Super Bee with the postol grip. Speedo go up, gas gauge go down, tires spin tearin' up the ground. He indeed, I can see the stretch marks on your face from grinning. Hemi powered Mopars have that effect. Did I ever tell you the story of when I raced my '79 Chrysler 300 against a cross ram 300 letter car from a roll. Well, when we both hit the gas pedal I could have sworn that I was in reverse. LOL
Had one back in the day, but mine was a 340 magnum with a slapstick. Console so no buddy seat. Never really liked it, just got it because I wanted to pull the engine and put it in my 'Cuda. Never did get it done. lol
I have owned many mopars as teen. I don’t think you can beat em. I know the brand X guys will say Mopar means; Moments Of Power Are Rare. Well I think Mopar means Master Of Power And Radical. Awesome ride sir.
Really nice car but I can’t imagine that it would be pleasant to drive with manual steering and brakes. I guess that it’s only meant to go fast in a straight line.
Hi Han Anderson, When you're offered a ride to your Hotel in a 1971 Hemi Dodge Super Bee, you video what you can, with what you have, with the time allowed, and this is what you got, Lou
May very well be a million dollar car. 1 of 9 Hemi-4 speed 71 Super Bee. Awesome car. 68-71 Roadrunners and Super Bee's are my favorite muscle cars. My dad bought a 69 Roadrunner brand new when I was a kid...383/4 speed. Orange with black interior. I loved that car. My uncle had a 68 396/350hp-4 speed Chevelle and my other uncle had a 68 GTO with a 400 HO/4 speed and they couldn't beat that 383 Roadrunner. All my dad did to it was put wider tires on it and gave it a little more aggressive ignition curve. That car was really fast. It was rated at 335 horsepower but it seemed like it made alot more than that. Less than $3,000 brand new

a dodge charger and a super bee are two different cars all together there is no such thing as a charger super bee it has to be one or the other plus this cars engine sounds like it has bad lifters is the car out of oil the 1968 charger is the one thats worth a lot i wish this guy would show if this car has matching numbers or was this engine just put into this car

That wing looks hideous on that beautiful Charger. Yeah yeah, I know it was an option from the factory. To be honest they look like crap on 3rd gen Chargers.
Hi Slayer, Thank you for viewing and sharing. Clearly you enjoy the car minus the wing. Hope you see many cars on this Channel where you enjoy the whole car :-) Lou
1:45. Lou, ya'll need lapel mic's for you and your guests..those old cars can be noisy + wind noises. Sry, I'm old & my ears are aged well past my 54 years, ahaha! But I must say, you have honed your craft from 2 years ago. You did fine then, but your videos are just that much more polished, now. Thanks tons for the fab footage & keep after it!

4:02 The _only_ thing I don't care for on Mopars of this vintage: The shoulder belts are mounted a smidge too high and tend to rest on your neck too much, if tightened properly. I think mounting them at top of door height would've been better. Although, maybe a 4 door HT car would have anchor location issue on that for the front seat psngrs? Hmm. Anyways..that's all I gots on a gripe on these fabulous cars! I
The rear wing. If mem. serves..it was initially called a 'Go Wing'. Then in '71, this would be the 'Gull Wing'. Ahaha! Idk, maybe advanced age or humor on that one :) But..you'll note how the ends are of a more trailing design than the straighter, earlier wings.
Great find!
The dislikes are from Prius drivers.
You're funny 20alphabet :-) Glad you enjoy the effort to search for cars I think you'll enjoy, Lou

Hi MrJohnnyDistortion, Thanks for sharing your knowledge and regarding the gas used in those 7 minutes, I'm not sure but the smiles per miles has me smiling REALLY wide the whole ride :-) Lou

Oh, shucks, I was just reminiscing of my fuel usage in my '70 Super Bee with the postol grip.
LOL
I got a 2007 Super Bee with a 515 c.i. crate motor. But that one sounds good
You have a cool car for sure :-)
@@loucostabile yep I love it.
wow thats a beautiful car
Hi eddie roy, Glad to receive a "wow" from you and glad you enjoy the looks of this one :-) Lou
Had one back in the day, but mine was a 340 magnum with a slapstick. Console so no buddy seat. Never really liked it, just got it because I wanted to pull the engine and put it in my 'Cuda. Never did get it done. lol
Hi GregDaGoblin, Thank you for viewing and sharing your story of your 340 car :-) Lou
340 71 Bee's are super rare! About 200 built.
I want one !!!!
Hi James Dash, Hope you're behind the wheel of the right one for you soon, Lou
5:00 Thank You so much!
You're welcome :-)
I have owned many mopars as teen. I don’t think you can beat em.
I know the brand X guys will say Mopar means;
Moments Of Power Are Rare.
Well I think Mopar means
Master Of Power And Radical.
Awesome ride sir.
Hi arizona chance, Glad you enjoy this one :-) Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
It was just like being there.
Glad you enjoy this one Right Lane Hog :-)
Really nice car but I can’t imagine that it would be pleasant to drive with manual steering and brakes. I guess that it’s only meant to go fast in a straight line.
Hi Dave, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts, Lou
Very nice car, couldn't find an open road top open it up on???
Hi Han Anderson, When you're offered a ride to your Hotel in a 1971 Hemi Dodge Super Bee, you video what you can, with what you have, with the time allowed, and this is what you got, Lou
You should have shown how the scoop opens and closes.
Hi mcm95403, Here you go on the review video at 13:49 Enjoy! Lou ruclips.net/video/UypWVUY7r0w/видео.html

Awesome Lou《☆》Canadians are great. Had to clear Her throat a little flegm ☻
Hi BDOG JR, Glad you consider this car "awesome" :-) Me too, Lou
Million dollar car
Less than $3,000 brand new
That is nice :-)
And the '71 Hemi Super Bee dreamed of having mall dad and road dog buzz down the street for charcoal and a 6pk. of bud light lime.
Good times :-)
Is it the audio, or does this sound like a truck at idle speed?
I think the audio is ok on this video.
My mom had a 71 318 it was fun car
Nice :-) Thank you for sharing james farmer, Lou
Seeing this car made me jizz my pants! Awesome car!
WARNING Take the hand off the stick shift! Hands at 10am & 2pm on the steering wheel when watching RUclips Channel My Car Story with Lou

Hi angela prestwood, Thank you for both tips on the rockers, and on your Hubby's car too :-) Lou
440 stop light to light, but that Hemi would walk that 440 after a few.
my friends piece of string is longer than your piece of string. so there.

a dodge charger and a super bee are two different cars all together there is no such thing as a charger super bee it has to be one or the other plus this cars engine sounds like it has bad lifters is the car out of oil the 1968 charger is the one thats worth a lot i wish this guy would show if this car has matching numbers or was this engine just put into this car
Hi angela prestwood, School is in session :-) Here is a 1971 Charger Super Bee (notice the difference in the tail lights) & a I'm sharing a link to the 1971 Charger here (also with a Hemi) Enjoy, Lou ruclips.net/video/MRufVGINGTw/видео.html

What kind of cars do you like Jhans Luis Barazorda Perez? Lou

You're welcome LIBERTY MAN :-)
Tres Bien.
Than they made an Mr2 with a k20 turbo. Lol
:-)
Detomaso pantera, 72 Cuda and this one are just timeless designed vehicles. Every vehicle now is a copy of another car. We got better with technology and shittier with imagination, in the car industry.
That thing chatters like a 7.3 diesel!

That wing looks hideous on that beautiful Charger. Yeah yeah, I know it was an option from the factory. To be honest they look like crap on 3rd gen Chargers.
Hi Slayer, Thank you for viewing and sharing. Clearly you enjoy the car minus the wing. Hope you see many cars on this Channel where you enjoy the whole car :-) Lou
sounds crappy
Clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you'll enjoy :-)
NICE '71 BEE But the spoiler has to go! Looks like crap on that beautiful muscle.
Hi Slayer, Glad you like this one (other than the spoiler), Lou
Hi TomJ440, I need quite a few things :-) You do what you can, with what you have, in the time you can do it, and this was the result. If you like, here is my Patreon page. Thank you in advance for your support, Lou www.patreon.com/MyCarStoryWithLou?fan_landing=true
4:02 The _only_ thing I don't care for on Mopars of this vintage:
The shoulder belts are mounted a smidge too high and tend to rest on your neck too much, if tightened properly.
I think mounting them at top of door height would've been better.
Although, maybe a 4 door HT car would have anchor location issue on that for the front seat psngrs?
Hmm. Anyways..that's all I gots on a gripe on these fabulous cars!
I
p.s. yes, imna watch the vid on his mum Barb's Fury!
but tomorrow..it's 2am allovasudden! lol.
Hi TomJ440, Thank you for viewing and sharing the details you see. Lou
The rear wing.
If mem. serves..it was initially called a 'Go Wing'.
Then in '71, this would be the 'Gull Wing'.
Ahaha! Idk, maybe advanced age or humor on that one :)
But..you'll note how the ends are of a more trailing design than the straighter, earlier wings.
Had not heard that about the wing before.
