Gary tells us how a Woman came to Ronnie claiming to be pregnant with his baby, Ronnie said "i aint the one, and its time for me to move along, I must be in some kind of conspiracy."

Ronnie Van Zant laid all of his cards out on the table for “I Ain’t The One,” the opening track to 1973’s smash hit (Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd).
A cold killer of an album opener, “I Ain’t The One” clocks in at just under 4 minutes and tells the story of a man determined to leave a woman after finding out that she’s “overdue” and planning a shotgun wedding - even though he isn’t the child’s father!

I Aint The One , was one of the songs Al Kooper heard at Funocios in July 1972..
The music was incredible.

was first recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Mid 1971.
As it was not included in the quinvy demos in October 1970, We can assume Ronnie and Gary wrote this in the first half of 1971.

The guitar solo on i aint the one is truly badass, one of my favorites of all time. I was a teenager in the 70s and I NEVER heard this song being played over the radio. Too bad i had to discover it years later.
