Andy was the youngest Gibb brother. He was much younger then his brothers. He started his music career in the mid to late 70's. He released three albums before his death in 1988. He had many hits in the USA. His first number one was I Just Want To Be Your Everything in 1977, he had three more number one hits to follow. There for awhile in 1978, he and his brothers were at the top of the charts at the same time. Need to check out all his work. Right before his death, he was asked to officially join the Bee Gees. To think what might have been......
A perfect definition of the phrase "wasted talent" Darcy... It would've been incredible for him to be the 4th Bee Gee.
@@dominicksforza3484 yes, so sad...what could have been. He was only 19 when he "hit it big" in the states...it was the mid 70's cocaine was everywhere.....he was young, gorgeous and had money. Too much too fast. And he always felt like he couldnt live up to his brothers fame.
I had such a schoolgirl crush on Andy Gibb. Barry wrote and produced Andy's music. It was really sad to watch him decline. RIP Andy!! He's the baby of the family and he has several great songs, "I just want to be your everything" and "Don't throw it all away ". Check out Exile sometime they have a funky yet sensual song Titled " Kiss you all over".
Me too! I crushed hard on Andy!
Yes!!! Of course. Me too. Him & Barry!
Andy wrote most of his own music, with the help of Barry & sometimes all 3 on some of his music. But all 3 of his albums were produced by Barry Gibb, Albhy Galuten & Karl Richardson….also known as Gibb-Galuten-Richardson.
I can relate my sister's bedroom walls were filled with Andy Shawn Cassidy .
I had his poster on my wall! 😍Loved him!
Andy is the baby of the Gibb family. You can hear the Bee Gees influence and background vocals. He tragically died young.
He sure did!!! He was phenomenal!!!
Andy was the youngest and was a solo artist. I saw him in Hawaii when I was 16 and he was FANTASTIC!!! I was so in love! 🤩 (He looked so much like a young Barry Gibb. Whew!)
Andy is youngest. He went solo because he was so much younger. He was going to join the Brothers, but he passed.
Andy was the youngest and had his own career. Later on his brothers invited him to join them. Tragically, he died at a young age.
Asia's face says it all. Every female had the same reaction when discovering Andy! Thank you for this great review of a fantastic tune.
Yes, Andy was his own thing in the 70’s. He had a number of hits. Sadly, his life ended tragically. But he was a star whose light went out way too soon.
Andy co-hosted a tv variety show called SOLID GOLD in the early 80's. He hosted with Dionne Warwick, (whom brother Barry wrote a song for called Deja Vu), and then it was with Marilyn McCoo. Andy is the baby brother of the Bee Gees. He wasn't a part of the group as the brothers were 10-12 years older than him. R.I.P. Andy, Robin, and Maurice.
Thank you so much for reminding me of Solid Gold!!! Those were the good days
Barry Gibb wrote 'Heartbreaker' huge hit for Ms Dionne
@@Braedensground You're right! My mistake. Deja Vu was written by Isaac Hayes and Adrienne Anderson. It was produced by Barry Manilow. I mentioned the wrong Barry.
He was his own group! Everybody loved him! It’s a shame he passed away so young!
Andy had is own single career, tragically he died so young at the age of 30. Shadow Dancing was my favorite in 1978. He also dated a beautiful actress Victoria Principal. Rest In Peace.
Andy was the fourth Gibb brother, the youngest. His was the solo career as a teen heart throb. Three straight #1 hits with Bee Gees sharing the writing
He was a doll there were some posters of him on our wall. Andy was the baby brother and yes he was a solo artist with a few great songs.
I was sooo crushing on Andy Gibb (and Barry!) way back then. RIP Andy. Posters and more posters all over my walls. I have his Shadow Dancing vinyl album....won it in a drawing from either Teen Beat or Tiger Beat mag. (ya'll remember those?) back in the 70s ... imagine the excitement when I saw my name printed in the winner's list. Wish I had kept that issue, but still have the vinyl today.
Same here!!! Man how I crushed on him too! Staring at those posters woooooooo 😁🔥🔥🔥💏😍😍
Oh Lord I remember those. That's where I got all of my Andy & Barry posters from. I loved those mags. at the time.
I still have a garbage can with Andy Gibbs face all over it! Got it when I was 12 and in 2022 I still use it! RIP Andy and I will never forget meeting you !! I’m 57 now!
@@ceceliacross5953 awesome!!!!
He had ALL the girls crushing. I had his Tiger Beat pictures taped to my wall. So talented and adorable. This was a HIT. I had it on cassette recorded off of the radio before I got the 45 record. He has several hits. Andy is the baby, he was always solo but sang with them sometimes. He looks so much like Barry. They were very close. His death was tragic. Go deeper. :-)
Andy was devastated by the breakup of a relationship in the early 80s and developed a severe drug habit. While he recovered, the usage took a toll on his heart and he died at the age of 30 in 1988.
He went with tv's DALLAS star ,Victoria Principal. He chose drugs over her. They recorded a duet, "ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DREAM" ruclips.net/video/UXqb72UFCak/видео.html
Yeah, the break up was with Victoria Principal; (DallasTV), he lost his mind when she left him/ his coke & booze addiction got worse. A sad commentary,
@@dissectthis9640 Andy Gibb suffered from breathlessness and abdominal pain and chest pains in the final months of his life. All clear symptoms of myocarditis,Andy had been showing signs of heart problems years before his death
Victoria Principal of Dallas fame. She was older.
Andy Gibb was my first concert, when I was 13. I was madly in love with him. He was so beautiful in person that I thought I’d die of excitement. And he put on a great show!
Greetings. Yes Andy Gibb was the youngest and the first to pass away.
Andy Gibb is also in the music video with his brothers music video YOU SHOULD BE DANCING.
Andy would do back - up with the BEE GRES during his very schedule, Andy Gibb was a TEEN TROUB Back in the 70s.
You will find the GINB BROTHERS Storytelling on VH1, and True Hollywood stories among other documentaries ✌🏼🤗🧚🏽
The harmonizing in the background is actually Barry. Please do "Love Is Thicker Than Water" and "I Just Want To Be Your Everything" next. Thanks and God Bless.
Barry was born in 46, Robin and Maurice in 49 (Twins). Andy was born in 58. The Brothers Gibb were already doing there act as early as 55. You ought to check out some of there vids from when they were kids. Really cool. Tks.
Don’t do the usual version of I Just Want to be Your Everything. That live performance isn’t very good. Mostly because his own band was doing the harmonizing and it just doesn’t work.
I loved Andy Gibb growing up.My dad was running a radio station in the 70s so I got all of his albums(still have them) and he also got me a full size stand up poster of him for me.The radio station was Country except on Friday Nights they would let the high school students come in and play a few hours of pop/rock and on Sundays my dads Big-O Oldie Show and so I was able to get a lot of records and albums and also that`s why I do love my music so much because I grew up with it ..Please explore more of Andy. Keep On Rockin'
Wow!!!! How lucky you are! Wow I would have loved to be in your shoes in terms of that. Way to go! RIP Andy🙏🥰❤
Andy Gibb was a solo artist. He had hits on "I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR EVERYTHING. SHADOW DANCING. LOVE IS THICKER THAN WATER OUR LOVE DON'T THROW IT ALL AWAY I CAN'T HELP IT (with Olivia Newton-John). he had three albums.
Yes, he's the youngest of the four brothers and was never a member of the BeeGees, though he performed with them on a few isolated occasions. He was always a solo artist, but like here, his brothers would provide backup, and Barry would write his songs. Andy Gibb had a string of huge hits like "(Love Us) Thicker Than Water," "I Just Want to be Your Everything," "Don't Throw It All Away" and "Desire."
My older cousin introduced me to great music from a young age. I was about 10 yrs old when she bought Andy's new single "I just want to be your everything" & she had me come over to hear it. She played it over & over on a constant loop, until we both had the lyrics memorized. I turned 55 this year & I still know every word of that song & "Shadow Dancing". Those two songs have been burned into my long term memory, so I'll still be able to sing it verbatim when I'm in my 80's or 90's... if my body lasts that long - LOL. Andy was my first pop artist crush. I was a total fan-girl. I had T-shirts with his photo on them, full size posters, and magazine cut outs all over my bedroom walls.
I'm so glad more people are starting to discover the music of the "baby Bee Gee" brother. Even though Andy was 12 years younger than Barry (the oldest), they could have been twins. They share very similar facial features & vocal sound. Barry & Andy looked more like twins than the actual fraternal twins, Robin & Maurice did - LOL
Andy is the baby of the family & he was still little when his older brothers hit it big on the music charts back in the 1960's. With the help of his brothers, Andy embarked upon a solo career, which he was very successful at, even in the short amount of time he created music. He put out a few albums, appeared on many TV shows, & also hosted a variety show called SOLID GOLD that did weekly countdowns of the most popular songs of the time. On occasion, he joined The Bee Gees while on their concert tours or TV specials. Sadly, he died just a few days past his 30th birthday (1988) from a heart condition, which was greatly exacerbated by years of alcohol & drug use. He was the youngest, but the first to pass away. Then twin #1 Maurice died in 2003, followed by the other twin, Robin in 2012. Barry, the oldest boy and his sister, Leslie (first born) are the last two surviving Gibb siblings left...
He is the youngest and looks just like Barry,.. The BG’s (Brothers Gibb) wrote his music for and with him… The 2 middle brothers were twins… Barry and Andy were so close… even after cleaning up he had heart issues and died young.
You MUST react to his first hit I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR EVERYTHING!!! There’s a PERFECT LIVE performance, including him playing guitar wearing an open jacket with no shirt underneath on DON KERSHNER’S ROCK SHOW at barely 19. He became the first artist to have his first three singles go to #1. Mostly Barry wrote, produced, and sang backup on Andy’s hit singles, but the balance of Andy’s albums were usually his own songs. As usual, your reaction was the best!!
Barry and his brothers often wrote for and did back vocals for Andy including on this one. They often wrote for other artists besides themselves. Shadow Dancing, Love is Thicker than Water, I Just Want to be your Everything we're huge hits for Andy and he also did a duet with Olivia Newton John a fellow Aussie and friend, artist of the Brothers Gibb.
If u want to hear more of Andy Gibb pls listen to him singing "Words" live 1984. He looks exactly like Barry and they sound exactly the same. He had his own fabulous career and wasn't old enough to join big brothers until a certain age. He was ready to join them as the 4 Bee Gees brothers but unfortunately he passed away bf that happened
Andy was my favorite of the brother's Gibb. He was very talented in his own right he was a solo artist no one can take anything from him period. Sadly he passed away at 30 yrs young. He was oh so hotttt and smooth he could melt butter. Andy had some issues but who in the hell doesn't if you are honest about it. We all fall short at times. Awesome reaction. Even blind folded i would know my Andy. Andy was the youngest. He has many of his own songs.
That look on Asia's face when Andy first started singing, I could tell she was processing the relationship to the Bee-Gees
"Everlasting Love" was another hit for him.
The Gibbs voice omg! That groove is sweet! RIP
Barry once said Andy was like the light behind all the UFOs!!! Soar with the angels Andy, Mo and Robin!!!
Andy was the youngest brother. He was a solo artist because he was so much younger then his brothers. His brothers, especially Barry helped him with his career and also helped him write his songs. Some say Barry actually wrote Andy's hit songs. Andy died young at 30 years old. He had a cocain addition. And died of a heart problem caused by his addiction. Andy was to join the Bee Gees group the year he died. They were devastated at his loss. The Bee Gees wrote the song "Wish you were here" as a tribute. They couldn't perform it live because it caused too much pain. They did perform "Don't throw it all away our love" (one of Andy's hits) at a concert live, in tribute to Andy. You should definitely watch that!
The Brothers also have an older sister that actually joined the group back in the late 60's when Robin left the group for about a year, or year and a half. Bee Gees have been my favorite group sinse the early 1970's.
My crush on Barry still exists!
If he had darker hair and a beard he’d look exactly like Barry. How awesome to have the BeeGees as brothers singing back up! As the youngest brother with a solo career, he and the brothers had top ten hits at the same time which is cool.
And if he was 4" taller
My 1st concert, age 11, 1977. Still have my Fan Club tote bag. Rest in Peace sweet Andy
Andy is the youngest brother of the Bee Gee's. This song was released in the 80's. He looks like Barry. The Bee Gee's are singing the background vocals.
This was released in 1978. It was number on the Billboard Hit 100 for seven weeks that summer.
song was released in 1978
I used to practice how to kiss on my Andy Gibb poster!! Wuuut?...😂😂😂😂😂he was FIRE! And he actually bumped his own brothers, and Michael Jackson, out of the #1 spot on the charts for 7 wks in 1979. Everybody loved Andy!! RIP gone too soon!!😔😔💕💕
My teen self crushed on Andy Gibb as did most 💕
I just want to be your everything is still such a swoon song that stays on my playlist today.
Check it out!
Andy had many hits an everlasting love, Love is thicker than water, I just wanna be your everything, don’t throw away our love just to name a few🤘🏼
Those two are some of his greatest. ❤️❤️
Always loved the funk this song has; amazing how talented all of the Gibb brothers were, and of course I had a crush on Andy ❤
That “huh, huh!”. Greatest line in the song!
I LOVE HIM STILL!!! I'm 53 and his picture still hangs in my living room.
I'm glad you two like this!
Love Andy!❤
The brothers Gibb! All four very talented. There are not a lot of brothers groups that make it to the top. One of the groups said I would like for you to react to are all brothers and that’s the Tavares… Another 70s group, in my opinion very underrated but had some top chart singles.
Passed many years ago at a very young age.
Lol, I was just reading the comments below mine and apparently I wasn't alone in being madly in love with Andy Gibb! I think I saw stars, hearts, flowers and unicorns when I looked at him at the concert, lol! 🥰😍🤪
That first harmony on the bridge 😮💨 their harmony is something man. RIP Andy
This was the first record I ever bought and Andy was the first concert I ever went to. 💜💜💜
Andy is the baby. He never was part of the Bee gees even though he was in a couple of their videos. I was so in love with him back in the day. Yes he did have an entire album and I wore it out.
Hey y’all! Please also react to his song “I just wanna be your everything.” Also there’s a live version with The Bee Gees doing a song called “Don’t throw it all away.” They’re live onstage and dedicate it to Andy- PLEASE check it out as well- they show old videos and photos in the background of Andy while performing. Very bittersweet- Barry once said he couldn’t look at the footage while performing- so heartbreaking- A must see and hear- R.I.P. Andy, Maurice and Robin Gibb-🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️🙌🏻
Yes that's from their Las Vegas concert. I can't help tear up everytime I watch it
Andy was my fav. Gibb he was so sexy he was very talented in his own right. Andy is the only one for me the rest take them or leave them lol. awesome reaction. btw Andy was the youngest and he decided to go solo. By late January to early February in 1988, Gibb had seemingly beaten his drug addiction, regained his health, and was ready to begin recording a new album. However, he still battled depression over his breakup with Victoria Principal. According to Robin Gibb, his brother "just went downhill so fast... he was in a terrible state of depression". On 5 March 1988, Gibb celebrated his 30th birthday in London while working on the new album. Two days after celebrating his birthday, he entered John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford complaining of chest pains. At around 8:30 am on 10 March 1988, Gibb's doctor informed him more tests were needed to determine the cause of his chest pains. Shortly afterward, Gibb slumped into unconsciousness and died as a result of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by years of cocaine abuse that fatally weakened his heart. This diagnosis was supported by William Shell, a cardiologist who previously treated Gibb.
Barry Gibb is stamped all over this song. And yes, the Bee Gees are the backing vocals. Way too much talent for one family x
I’m sixty years old and you guys made me laugh so hard during this video especially when you realized it was a Gibb video. God bless you guys ❤️
RIP ANDY GIBB
I saw him in concert at Carowinds theme park in 79 when I was pregnant with my first baby . My sister and her friend were crazy about him and screamed and cried the whole show . I will never forget the smles on their faces . Love you guys . Yes he was the baby and did his own thing .
He was a solo artist, the youngest gibb brother. He was going to join his brothers but trgicly died
i had such a huge crush on Andy and Barry both , but every teenage girl seemed too . lol
Barry Gibb wrote a lot of Andy's songs. Andy's biggest hits in the later 70's were "I Just Want To Be Your Everything", "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water", "Shadow Dancing", "An Everlasting Love", "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away". Sadly he passed away at only 30 years of age. Now only Barry is left from the 4 brothers. But at least we have a great legacy of their music.
Andy Gibb was not a member of the Bee Gees. Although he appeared in one of their music videos. And the Bee Gees did produce and sung harmonies on his albums. He had a short music career....I think he released 1 or 2 albums. He died of a drug overdose around 1980. And was the first brother to die. Barry Gibb the lead singer of the Bee Gees is the only surviving brother and he's the oldest.
The odd thing is I think it ended up being a heart issue or something - probably not helped by the heavy cocaine usage though. Sad...
Andy the youngest Gibb brother had a solo career of his own. With the writing of his older brothers his first three songs went number one."Shadow Dancing" kept "Bakers Street" at bay.
Andy has a rabbit hole of his own.
Priceless!! Andy was a huge success, and definitely a Bee Gee! So sad he died before he could join the group 😢
The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were one of the few, if only, who embraced funk, soul and R&B and we're successful for it.
So, no matter a person's skin color, you've got to appreciate their mark on the World and no matter the listeners of their music, their music goes past color.
Others may have commented…..but Andy had 3 Top Ten singles & released 3 albums….was 12 yrs younger than Barry…..& was an absolute doll🥰! And he definitely did a little more “swinging the hip thing” than his bros….but he was also single😍!!
Check out Andy Gibb's An Everlasting Love, another great tune
I grew up in 70s/80s... had huge crush on Andy Gibb. Yes he had his own career, as the youngest of the Gibb brothers, they backed him up. Andy sings on some songs from Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. RIP Andy, far too young to die.
Asia and BJ: If you want to see two strikingly beautiful singers, watch the duet between Andy Gibb and Crystal Gayle. Wow!
I remember as a teen many hours swooning over Andy's poster on my wall. In that satin jacket! Gorgeous man.
Andy was the youngest of the Gibb brothers. He was never a member of the Bee Gees. He always had a solo career. His brothers wrote songs for him, including this one and from time to time would add backing and harmony vocals to his recordings. You can definitely hear Bee Gees DNA in his songs. Sadly he passed away at 30 years old.
Please react to "Love is thicker than water" and "I just want to be your everything" and "Don't throw it all away our love" by Andy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He is the baby brother of the Bee Gees, Shadow Dancing went to the top of the pop charts for a month.
I had a crush on Andy Gibb. He passed way too soon. RIP Andy.
Hey I'm a man's man and not afraid to admit Andy and Barry were studs!!!😅
73rd...Andy Gibb was the youngest..and died the first......he was a solo artist over-all but collaborated with hsi brothers.....he was dating actress Victoria Principle from the TV Show Dallas ....I beleive he died of drug overdose...
There's a beautiful live performance of the Bee Gees, in Las Vegas, doing a tribute to Andy called, Don't throw it all away( our love). Originally, an Andy song. So beautiful and touching. A must see. Barry has said that Andy was like his twin. They were very close
I was 17 when this song cane out. I was a huge Andy Gibb fan at the time. First time I heard it I was in line at the drive thuru bank and pulled out of line to listen to the song!
Loved Andy Gibb and was heartbroken when he passed away. He was on a show with Dionne Warwick and then Marilyn McCoo called Solid Gold.
I loved all of the Gibbs brother. Andy was the baby and yes he had his on career.
This song was written by big brother Barry Gibb. You can also hear Barry on the backing vocals.
Andy was never part of the Bee Gees. He's the youngest of the 4 brothers.
They wrote Too Much Heaven and Tragedy the same day they wrote Shadow Dancing. All three were number one hits.
RIP ANDY GIBB amazing songs!
I'm a white dude, who was raised on 60s-70s classic rock-80s metal; and have no problem dropping the top, turning it all the way up, and sharing with everyone. Awesome song and groove... Barry Gibb is a Genius
Andy was my very first concert. I was around 14 or 15. My best friend and I went. We loved him!
The Gibbs brothers that made up The Bee Gees had a younger brother Andy. He had his solo career take off amidst the Disco era. He often appeared with The Bee Gees on stage. Same look and voice as his older brothers!
Andy's first 3 singles all went to #1....he was a huge star for a few years. He wrote much of his first album, Flowing Rivers. He had his own talent. There are many clips of him hosting Solid Gold, singing duets with many ....he was everywhere.....performing for the troops with Bob Hope, guesting on TV shows, everybody wanted him. His live performances were often better than the records. Check him out on The Midnight Special & DON Kirschner's Rock Concert. You can also see all 4 Gibb Brothers on You Should Be Dancing--choose the live concert footage fr 79 for best experience🔥
Little known fact-"Bee Gees" was not the original name of the group. They changed it so their albums would be closer to The Beatles in the record stores alphabet-SO smart! Andy passed away 4 days after his 30th birthday.
The original name was The Bee Gees then they dropped The
They were known as the Brothers Gibb. Initials BG were embroidered on their shirts by their mum Barbara. They began performing as kids here in Australia
Guys, Andy was always a solo singer. He was never part of The Bee Gees because he was so much younger. Andy Gibb, born in 1958, was 12 years younger than Barry and 9 years younger than twins Robin and Maurice. He did appear with his older brothers on the You should be dancing video. Many reactors don't pick up on it. Only one was javeetv. Sadly, Andy died at only 30 in 1988, due to a heart attack, due to many years of drug addiction
He was a heart-throb back in the day. RIP Andy. Thanks for bringing music to our ears.
2 big # 1 solo hits.but his life went south and never was able to join brothers.
so cool to see another generation enjoy the songs we grew up with :)
Please now do the Foo Fighters version of this song, sung by the recently deceased Taylor Hawkins while he's playing drums. The Foo Fighters did a mini album of Bee Gee covers, which are all great, but that one, which is of course Andy Gibb's song, is my favorite
He was the youngest of the Bee Gees. And he had his own career. But his older brother Barry helped him write songs and ultimately helped him with his career.
I had his posters all over my room. He was 🔥.
🎵💕🎶
I was working on New Years eve in 1978 and listening to the top 100 hits on the radio. I was dismayed to hear Shadow Dancing.😆😆
Guys, Andy was the youngest and had a great career of his own (although Barry gave him most of his hit songs, lol, what are family for!). Coming from a Disco-free household, I could only indulge in this jam at the Rollerskating rink! Guilty pleasure at 11 yrs old!
It’s so funny, with every reaction I watch of Andy Gibb, the girl watching him, has her jaw on the floor.
Tee hee. 😂
I remember having Andy Gibb poster when I was a young lass 😂😆 I loved this song
Andy wasn't a Bee Gee, he was a much younger brother, so they all helped him along. This song was written by all 4 of them.
He was on Soul Train...that era was still disco, so everybody was doing soul train. But Andy was youngest brother and got heavy into drugs which he eventually died from as a young man (RIP). ...and God bless you folks!
He is the youngest. He was always solo. He was my favorite. He was so pretty.
I had a huge crush on him! He looked and sang so good! People used to call him the "baby Bee Gee" because he was so much younger than his brothers, but he was no baby. He was the finest thing from the 70's!
I love seeing Asia getting captivated by another Gibb! Andy had huge hits back in the day. The door was always open for him to join his brothers, but he wanted to do his own thing. If you watch very old Bee Gee videos like when they were on Ed Sullivan, you can see that Andy is the spitting image of Barry. I don't think the older brothers ever got over Andy's death.
Posters on my wall as a kid, Ozzy Osbourne, Rush, BeeGees, Andy Gibb. Michael Jackson, what a great time to be alive .
