That basketball court is pretty popular with the land mammals. For the sea mammals, the humpback whales footage you did manage to record is pretty cool.
Thanks, it is hard to get them on film if you aren't just sitting watching them. The other keeper here was able to film multiple breaches the other day which was amazing to see but I don't have the footage yet....
Keep up the great content. So relaxing to watch your videos with all the chaotic stuff happening with elections and covid. Stay safe and well. Best wishes from Sweden.
There actually is not a lot of otters at this station but they do make appearances at many of the other lighthouses. When I was at Entrance there was a family that lived on the island and you would see them pretty much every day.
I’m not a lighthouse keeper. I am however curious. Is the rock of land you’re on connected to a country? Or sitting by itself? Because…ravens are not that much of a shock at all. But deer & wolves was not something I was expecting.
If you google Sarah Island on google maps you can see how large the island is that I am currently on. The channels on either side of the island do have narrow points that an ambitious animal can cross but Sarah Island is actually quite large and so it does support a robust wildlife poplulation.
@@BCLighthouseKeeper Oh. Because from what I could remember because obviously the time of this comment was how long it had been since I’d watched this video. But from what I remembered it seemed like it was by itself basically & it just took up a majority of the island.
@@theanimationcritictaylorri1264 Many stations are like this, where the island it is on is quite small and the station takes up most, if not all, of the available land. Boat Bluff is located on a big island. There is still nothing else on the island, no towns or settlements or anything else but it is really really big. Like a large city big.
Smoking is not denied from you if you are a smoker, just be sure to have enough on hand to last you more than a month because if you run out, you can't just go and get more. Many keepers do have a drink from time to time, wine, or beer with meals. What you do on your own time is up to you but you have yo be sure to keep it on the level and don't allow it to blend into your work times as well.

What about intoxicants? Can you have a smoke or a drink if your not on duty?
