      @@wellchuffedrailways You are correct, not sure if I’ve ever seen one for sale to be fair, eye watering prices that they carry, so surprised Hornby haven’t re-released them again, would be a good money spinner, if Bachmann produced them you would have to sell a kidney to get the money to buy one, their prices are horrendous now.

      Hi Mark, I had no idea that 37 was worth anything but it does make sense. Problems filming, we have had on a couple off occasions but not recently. I think we are part of the furniture at these events now. We get good feedback from traders and even some of the event organisers so I guess we are good publicity for them. We rarely film people anyway so that helps. The Princess set was nice but I have the loco although mine has the old style wheels on it. Save the postman pat it might be worth something! All the best Rick, P, Bob & Lola.

    I can confirm the Pullman Observation car is indeed operational on the Swanage Railway, it had spent a short period of time at the proposed LSL museum at Margate on the former Hornby site but had now returned to Swanage - the actual coach used on the ill fated Flying Scotsman tour of America several decades ago - great video - keep them coming - but an HO 33 Ric? Really??? Lol 😂enjoy it

    The whiskey wagon you showed was a real bargain! Old Hornby ones are going for £15 to £20 and that one looked like a Bachmann, which are always more expensive than anything. Mind you E-Bay prices for model railway stuff have shot up in the past 6 months, which even factoring transport costs still makes it more expensive than fairs and exhibitions. Those five pound coaches have starting prices of £10 plus on E-Bay. With postage on top!

    • @wellchuffedrailways
      @wellchuffedrailways  Год назад

      Hi Graham, it really does pay to have a look around and Elsecar Toy Fair is very cheap to attend (£1.50 after 7) so if you buy several items it is still a decent saving on eBay. All the best Rick

    Hi Rick & Pauline, the LMS coronation set was a nice bargain, love the stream liners, I got the blue, maroon and black version in my collection, love them…
    Recently bought the blue wagons to go with it, still looking for the red coaches, not so common to find as the blue onces.
    Hornby made new tooled versions of them, super detailed but also super priced, all the new stuff has become very expensive lately a bit of shame where it's going to, but in one way its our own fault as we are demanding for more and more detail.
    Recently bought the Heljan NER n° 1 electric from the national collection in miniature, although super detailed you start question your self how to pick it up without damaging it, with all that fine detailing.
    Why did you buy the HO version, while you can have that livery in OO?
    Anyway nice video, loved it as ever…
    Cheers,
    Danny

    Hey, Pauline and Rick! Another grand show. I see so many things I want to ask about, but I would write pages here. I did see early on a Subbeteo!!! I had that as a kid. Bought it at a local shop and I think I was the only person who had it in my city. I have now seen a couple Palitoy trains, and I wonder if any and who owns their molds now. I knew Palitoy as the UK version for GiJoe figures (Action Man) and the Star Wars line from Kenner. I also would not have passed by that Scalextric set by. lol Great stuff all around! Cheers!

    • @wellchuffedrailways
      @wellchuffedrailways  Год назад

      Hi Anthony, Palitoy never owned the moulds the (Made in Honk Kong by Kader amongst others) hence a lot of the models were adapted by Bachmann when they entered the UK OO market. Subbuteo was very popular here all those years ago and we do see it from time to time. I did have a Scalextric and would have another one if I had the room as I'm a massive Motorsport fan. £55 for an O Gauge loco even in second hand is a remarkable bargain by today's standards. Even O Gauge diesel shunters can cost up to £400 brand new!
    Seeing the Elsecar Railway being broken up also made me sad too. As a lifelong lover of preserved railways it pains me to see all the money and effort that volunteers and investors wasted for it to end up like this. I really hope some white knight millionaire could step in and save it, but realistically it's gone well past that and it most likely will never happen as preserved railways are not for profit organisations. They could buy the shunter and the brake van to save but not the railway. Or maybe the station bit could be bought and repurposed as a café or something. You never know.

    I have a sked a few different people over the last few years and havent had any responses from them. Did you also say they were £44 each. Seems I snavelled a bargian as I only paid $40 ausd for 3 of these but no boxes bur like in really good nic for how old they are. Speaking of , do you know how old they are ?
