Nice walk around. Plenty there of interest. I have the Deltic Meld. Very pleased with mine. if you buy the Lima Western in sand livery bear in mind they are incorrectly numbered should be 1000 and not 1023. Very nice model though and I left mine as it is. Thanks for showing us round. Cheers Paul.
O wow there is just so much to look at. I am glad you did a video of the show. Nice looking Dinky Bus and still in box nice!!!! You both just stay so calm about it all lol!!! The big one is nice and it runs well too. It is interesting about the white Tables in the Pullman car. I do have some and I do need to go a look to see if they are or not. I think they are not:). I like what you got with the Missiles and the Train earlier. + the one with the spotlight. You sure did get some great looking ones there in your bag!!!! Just the other day I received in the Post as you say. A UK train and it is the Windsor City one so nice!!! Great video and I hope that you had a great Christmas and now have a happy new year too cheers mate!!!!!!
Hi Brad, it was a good show and thankfully everything works but I have yet to try the missiles. Nice to hear you are extending your railway with some good old UK locos! We can't seem to avoid the Beatles at the moment lol. Cheers for watching and have a great new year. Rick
A great little show. Always new and cool stuff to see. Impressive G Scale model there. The Lima Deltic was impressive for £25 (which you didn't pick up, but like the one you did from that table- the maroon one). Nice pick-ups on the NATO wagons! I wish the toy shows still ran around here like they use to- 4 a year... now it's 1 in March. Ah well, thanks for the tag-a-long!
Hi Anthony, there are a few items I should have got but thankfully the Western loco is one of my list and nicely detailed as well. They usually go for double that price so I'm very happy with that. Pauline wanted the missile launcher so I'd better watch my back for those heading my way! I was going to use it to shoot that damned yellow submarine. 😂😂 Have a great New Year. Rick
wow nice pullman coach in blue too... the rocket & search light models are great (had to be done really) glad you didn't just walk away... and the Western in Maroon , top show 👍🏻ATB guys
Hi Neil, yes the Western was a great buy and runs perfectly. Nice added detail as well. The Tri-ang NATO stuff was something I had looked at but Pauline twisted my arm on those! You can see if they work or not in tomorrow's vlog. Have a great 2023. All the best Rick.
Hello there Rick & Pauline, another great video. My wife and I love watching your videos. I'm usually on the edge of my seat eying up all the bargains 🤣. I have at last taken the plunge into RUclips and can at last subscribe and like people who have provided me with inspiration and pleasure. Wishing you both a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year 🤣. All the very best from South Wales ~ Marcus and Cleo
Hi Marcus and Cleo, first of all thank you for liking and subscribing. We try to do things a bit differently so we never ask people to subscribe but we are grateful to the people who do! We love Wales and have family near Llandudno so it was nice to combine a family visit with the Toy Fair and I'm glad we got a couple of decent purchases. Thankfully everything works well now they have been cleaned up but you can see for yourself in our next vlog. We have lots planned for next year including a few new ideas we want to try out in addition to attending some new exhibitions. Many thanks for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Rick and Pauline. 🎄⛄🎅🚂
@@vikingsmb Oh that's a shame. I only went to two local exhibitions this year, Cardiff Model Railway Show and the Barry & Penarth Railway Club Exhibition. I may have to travel further afield. 😄
Excellent video and what a great haul of bargains. A great venue. Early Easter presents lol. Love the g gauge locomotive. I saw a couple of N gauge carriages, and only £7.50 each wow. A bit far away to travel in a day for us, but a great day it looks like you had. Thanks for sharing your wonderful day. Your western collection is becoming a legend. You must show us the collection so far? I will eventually get some 37’s as they are my favourite, and dare I say the 66’s ( Sheds ) - never enough sheds, lol. 🎉🎉❤ . Have a Great New Year. Been a great year watching your videos. Thanks for the enjoyment. 🎉❤❤❤
Hi Paul, yes it was a good event and we are happy with the video even though we had to rush it due to arriving a lot later than intended. Funnily enough we are filming a LIMA video which hopefully will be out in the next couple of weeks. I have a couple of 37s and would like large logo one (as would Pauline) the 66s are a bit new for our era but you never know! Our next video will be a roundup of our favourite purchases this year, a look at what we bought in Llandudno plus we reveal our favourite layout we filmed this year. Have a great new year Rick.
Hi guys another cracking video. You got some brilliant bargains, really like the Triang wagons. You should of bought a class 33 tho. All the best guys. Carl.
Another great vid i must go there sometime, that western class was a bargain and the g scale loco i got a similar one for my 15th birthday, great value locos at the time, ive recently done mine up and had it running again, i just need a bigger garden for it lol, keep up the good work and look forward to the next one, all the best. Tom
Hi Tom, it was a bargain and I have been meaning to pick one up in Maroon for ages. I have noticed secondhand prices are definitely increasing as well. We would love a G scale garden layout if only to keep the dog quiet. Glad you have yours running again and it's nice you still have something from when you were a youngster. All the best Rick
It was a good fair, I have to say. We was one of the first there when it opened. Was hoping to bump Into you guys, to say hello. But never mind. Hope you enjoyed it too. Steve.
Hi Steve, we got there around lunchtime as we had a few delays on route. It was a very chaotic trip! Shame we didn't bump into each other but maybe next time. All the best Rick
Hi Martin, I keep meaning to get a 33 but something else always catches my eye. I did have a Lima one as a lad. It was (I think) 33025 BR blue with large numbers. Cheers Rick
Interesting video you did well with that Lima Western at £20 its a gift Dapols new Westerns are £115 to £168 range. The battle star wagons are an interesting find and will gain value on a well known auction site they go for a fair amount. Take care and Happy New Year. Pete.
Hi Peter, yes it was a good purchase for the price. The wagons are good fun and I'm genuinely amazed so many survived but they were a great many sold. All the best and Happy New Year Rick
Hi, we do seem to be spoiled up here for shows and we don't even visit all of them! Hopefully some more will get established in the future. All the best Rick
Hi Deano, you're probably right but I deleibertaly never carry to much cash to these shows! I went with good intentions to buy some coaches but came away with a rocket launcher and searchlight.... The Western was on my list though and it's a good runner now i've given it a clean. All the best Rick
Nice video and a nice haul again. Also good to see that there was a possibility for a testrun, a lot of times, particularly at smaller fairs, this will be overlooked but it can cost trade if you sell used items. I always ask for a testrun when I'm buying stuff, I know sometimes a battery will suffice but you wouldn't be the first to buy a wreck 😄
Hi Ed, yes a test run is a plus point for buyers and sellers. The Western and the searchlight wagon both run absolutely fine now they have had a clean. Cheers Rick
Hi Stuart, considering we arrived later on it was good. I think its only a matter of time before the 3 rail models increase in value. All the best Rick
Great video. I cant understand why dealers always stick the price labels on the box fronts. It just ruins the box when you try to remove it. They should just put a sign saying all prices on back of box.
Many stalls brimming with bargains, but other stalls seemed very expensive even if you could haggle them down a bit. Makes you wonder how those stalls sell anything.
Maybe they do and maybe they don't. I know stalls at regular fairs that have the same old stuff on their table for years in a row and they still haven't got a clue 😄
Hello Rick and Pauline. This might be useful. Many people who watch your videos cannot get to shows , so thanks for your efforts and service. As an extension is it possible to show each retailers contact details for maybe 5-10 seconds. We can use Pause! Many viewers can then get in touch because they spot an item in your video. I am from Australia. I think the retailer might appreciate it too.
Hi Kimball, we do ask many retailers if we can but many only do it as a hobby. It's one of the things we are working on and it's getting easier as we are more known on the show circuit. But yes we will endeavour to do it where possible. In fact we will give details verbally and on screen where possible. Thanks for your input. All the best Rick.
we called those locos " cab forewards ". as the gentleman explaind it was because of the smoke in structures called snow sheds . the snow sheds protected the trains from avalanches.a late friend of mine did maintinace on those engines .
Hi Allan, i've never seen these before so it was interesting to see one and have the chap explain them. I wonder if any of the prototypes survived? I will take a look. All the best Rick

Hi Richard, that's really kind of you but we couldn't take it without paying you for it. I hope that doesn't sound rude or anything but we made a rule that we wouldn't accept freebies through RUclips. That's not a slight on yourself Richard as your offer is appreciated, however we don't want to take advantage of people. Again we don't mean yourself but some people are vulnerable. Many thanks Rick.
