I don’t think a lot of people realise this, but new comers didn’t realise it as well when the dude brought up how their crew lost of 50 ships and 5,000 men and said the grand line is basically hell, only to forget that it was Mihawk who took them all out

Usopp: "Let me tell you about that time i was drinking with the best swordsman in the world on floating restaurant. While my captain was cleaning dishes my best friend Zoro crashed our party by challenging Mihawk to a duel. After almost killing my friend he fled before my overwhelming presence."
The guy Sanji feeds, who tells how his captain lost 50 ships and 5000 men, was actually referring to Mihawk slicing them up there...Mihawk just came straight from the GrandLine to this little restaurant on orders.
I think they left that out deliberately though. The issue with having Krieg being chased by Mihawk is it doesn't actually show the dangers if the grand line, just the dangers of the world's greatest swordsman (of which there is one). The vague way Gin speaks in this episode, he could have been taken out by Wapol or something. The grand line feels more dangerous because any random pirate could take you out.
I think they chose to *not* have Gin be one of the Krieg pirates in this version. Because if he is, then they made a mistake in terms of the passage of time. Gon said he was drifting for 3 weeks after his armada was wiped out and he was the only survivor. But 3 weeks clearly didn’t pass between Mihawk tearing them apart and Gin showing up at the Baratie.
Fun Fact: Eichiro Oda almost refused to reveal early on that Garp is Luffy's grandfather. But after various discussions with other producers and scriptwriters, he finally gave the green light for it to be reveal this early on. I'm a little bit worried at frst, but many new fans liked it, so it's good enough for me. Glad you're watched it. Keep it up 👍
I feel in retrospect part of the reason was he was just mapping out an Garp storyline, and didn't want any content revealed in the live action to contradict with it. He probably gave them some pointers so they wouldn't go wrong in that regard. For example, I suspect they tweaked his discussion about wine in response to Oda's feedback. They might have gone for a bibical quotation from luke 5 originally but it doesn't fit Garps newly-revealed character.
Garp is the perfect embodiment of conflict. The conflict of his duty as a marine, of wanting to keep Luffy save, of seeing the pirate and of pride in how far your grandson has come. As seen in the flashback, Garp wanted Luffy to be a marine. He wanted him to be strong, but to choose his side rather than the role of a criminal who would have the marine, the world government, other pirates and bountyhunters coming after his life. And really, it's such a human conflict, it's so realistic. We really cannot fault Garp for not wanting his grandson to become a wanted criminal who might lose his life early because of it. At the same time we can understand that Garp still feels pride because he sees how strong has grandson has become. Of course our first reaction is too feel critical about Garp because we are following Luffy, we know he's not a cruel criminal but rather someone who wants to be free, explore and fulfill his dream. And we know Luffy has been able to handle everything thrown at him so far. What we realise with a second though is that Garp, having been a marine vice admiral for so long, must have seen far, far more of the world than Luffy has. Garp says he could have been fleet admiral by now, which is the highest post in the marine - this says a lot about his strength! But to him, like Luffy, freedom is important. As a vice admiral, especially the vice admiral known as the hero of the marine, he has a lot of freedom in his position and he has some room to do things the way he pleases. Any higher position would put him in a place where he'd have to directly answer to and act on behalf of his higher ups in the marine and the government. A little thought of mine at the end: With the power Garp has, with him being strong enough to have been offered the position of fleet admiral, if he well and truly wanted to end Luffy's crew here and take him into custody, he could have done so, and he could have done a lot more than throwing a cannonball harder than a canon can shoot it. So what he did felt a lot more like he was testing Luffy. Essentially, if that stopped Luffy, Garp would have had to take him in before becoming a wanted man for his own safety, because he wouldn't have been able to stand up to any challenges.
Mihawk stated that the world could use a few more wild cards like Luffy before he left, so he chose to leave him there to see what Luffy achieves in the world
This fight was such an important moment in Zoro's story and early in the manga, and they did an absolutely fantastic job with it. Everything about Mihawk was done perfectly tbh, I love him in the anime, and they absolutely did him justice. The biggest thing one can take from this episode imo is the huge power difference between Zoro and Mihawk, and consequently the Strawhat crew and other pirates in the Grand Blue. They still have a loooong way to go
Yeah showing characters like Mihawk and Garp this early is so well done, bc they aren't just some of the first obstacles who become irrelevant eventually, they're straight up some of the most powerful people in the entire world
I'll leave you with two bits of dialogue from the anime in the Zoro vs. Mihawk battle. When Mihawk stabbed Zoro from Zoro when Mihawk asked him why he doesn't step back when the blade is so close to his heart: "I don't know. I'm not sure why myself. But if I were to take even one step back, I believe that all those important oaths, promises and many other deals 'til now, will all go to waste and I'll never be able to return before you, ever again." After Mihawk slashed Zoro from Mihawk: "It's still too early for you to die. My name is Dracule Mihawk! Discover your true self, the true world, and become stronger! However long it may take, I shall wait for you at the top. Surpass my sword! Surpass me! Roronoa Zoro!"
Knowing how strong Mihawk is it's hilarious how he even decided to entertain the idea of Zoro "fighting him", the difference between the two is like that of a glass of water and a sea, like imagine Yuji challenging Gojo to a fight to the death that''s basically what just happened
But I like how mihawk still fought zoro without being arrogant or something...and I also like how zoro, even after losing, didn't leave the site and took the wound on his chest gracefully!
The funny thing about Don Krieg (that one pirate Mihawk killed) is his role was SEVERELY cut down in the live action. He was literally the main villain of the Baratie arc in the anime. That guy Sanji fed was also part of his crew, and he also had a major role in the arc. The Mihawk/Zoro fight still happened, but Mihawk was hunting Krieg and not Luffy
It was a disappointment that they cut Don Krieg out of the Baratie Arc. He was the best villain of the entire East Blue saga. But I suppose they had to go with a faster pacing to get to the grand line faster otherwise they would be stuck in the East Blue for two or three seasons.
@@starkillahxthe thing with don krieg is, that he is the only villain that doesnt affect the story at all. The rest of the villains have an influence in the overarching plot of the arc. But the most important thing of the baratie arc is sanji's introduction and mihawk. But Krieg is Just there because Oda needed a villain
@@starkillahx When I watched the anime the flight between Luffy and Krieg it seemed way more epic than the Luffy vs Arlong battle whom Luffy defeated fairly easily. The main purpose of Krieg was to build up suspense for the grand line. It is lore cannon stated that Krieg was the most powerful pirate in the East Blue but got completely destroyed in the grand line. What was shown was also a weaker already "defeated" version of Krieg and Luffy barely beat him. It was very complex battle and they might not have had the budget for it.
@@Novusodbut don kreig was not even the strongest in East blue, arlong always was the strongest. But don kreig was considered the strongest because arlong was basically hiding and scheming so he was not well known in the east blue in the anime.
@@lucianofrancesco4742 yeah it's wild how common that is nowadays, no idea how you can watch this without seeing at least SOME of the fact that the overarching themes of the story are all political
I'm glad that they picked up on it because even many long time fans just refuse to believe that there's political undertones to a series where law enforcement are frequently the antagonists 🙄 (among many many many other political plot points to come)
@@DNeonLamp Lol more like political overtones! Especially considering Robin's backstory and Nami's backstory and a PLETHORA of other characters. Things like Tashigi's realization during Alabasta, etc, etc.
This ep was such a pivotal moment for Zoro and his character. He is known to be quite feared in the East Blue and even sees himself as a big shot. But, with his fight with Mihawk, his perception of himself is challenged as he realises that there is better swordsman them himself out there. He was blinded by the fact that he was a big fish in a little pond so to speak. As an oath to himself and his captain, he aims to become stronger. Not only to become the strongest swordsmans, but as a crewmate in command to Luffy. Also, Garp is just that guy 😂 Even in the anime, the scene of Garp throwing the cannonballs at Luffys' ship is so funny! He even has a megaphone, screaming "this is Grandpa, this is Grandpa" before he throws them haha 😂 i love Garp
Mihawk spared luffy because he respected Luffy's goal, as he said "it's even more difficult than defeating ME" and people like luffy wholeheartedly and purely chasing the dream of the one peice is RARE.
5:22 It's comedic, but more than anything, this scene makes so much sense, because more than any current or future crewmates, Luffy and Zoro are extremely alike. They are alike in terms of their ambitions, which are very much power related, they are alike in their perception, and despite differences in their personalities, with Luffy often being more upbeat, outgoing and infantile at times whereas Zoro is more reserved, serious and stoic, their values are very alike. Neither of them really talk about the past much, if at all, that much was confirmed by the author of One Piece. So when Zoro just goes "Okay, good talk." after Luffy says that he doesn't wanna talk about it, it's not because Zoro doesn't care or didn't want to talk to begin with, but because Luffy and him are so alike that he, more than anyone else on the ship, accepts that Luffy doesn't wanna talk about it and that the past is the past for him, that he's not concerned about it, so he doesn't pressure him into explaining. In the same vein, Luffy understood the importance of the battle with Mihawk for Zoro, which is why he didn't get in the way. He know that this equals him delaying or giving up his dream when it's right in front of him. The insight we get into Zoro in this episode is great as well! Someone who will never give up, someone who is willing to die rather than backing away from his dream and someone with a certain code. At the same time he, the rest of the crew and we as watchers get a reality check about just how far they are from the real big dogs in the world and how far they are away from their dreams. Mihawk is the tangible personification of Zoro's dream. The strongest swordsman in the world, one of the strongest people in the world - and he is eons above him. And yet, he doesn't give into despair or abandon his dream. He vows that as long as he lives, he will pursue that goal and he'll never lose again until he has reached his goal and beats Mihawk. At the same time, Mihawk sees someone who has only just started their journey but has the tremendous potential to maybe, one day, be an interesting threat to him. That's why he doesn't slice Zoro in half here and tells him that it's too early for him to die. If Zoro is strong enough, he will survive the wound got and eventually get another chance. After his vow, in the anime, Zoro says something along the lines of "That alright with you, Pirate King?" to Luffy, which also shows how much he believes in Luffy. In general Zoro is not someone who would follow Luffy if he didn't believe in him or if he thought Luffy was considerably weaker than him.
I can’t tell you how many times while watching the anime I’ve said “same person; they’re the exact same person” about Luffy and Zoro. 😂 I do love that the first indication people are given that Luffy is no joke at the beginning of the series is that Roronoa Zoro follows him. I also love that Zoro is the first person to seriously call Luffy the next King of the Pirates. It’s just fitting.
Taz Skylar, the actor of Sanji, got a Taekwondo Black Belt in preparation for this role, and transformed into a Sous-chef, second only to anime Sanji...prepared meals for the production teams even.
Mihawk's actor Steve John Ward received lots of love and instagram followers after this..that guy is perfectly Mihawk. Sure not reaching million mark, but got a 100k atleast for such a small role early series.
The flashback is both serious and comedic at the same time, it shows how similar yet different they both are as family members, Garp was serious about stopping Luffy becoming a pirate and turn him into a marine (for obvious reasons i feel like), he did train Luffy to become stronger during his childhood; however, the scene also shows how they still are family with that "but first... lunch" because food is always more important to the Monkey D. men
The funny thing is that there is an easy way for Zoro to sit without his swords getting in the way, but the Producers thought it would make a nice comedy skit having Zoro have issues with his swords. Japanese Katana are normally carried in a waist band type belt where the weight of the scabbard keeps it in place, all you need to do is slide the swords out of the band and set them beside you.
An important thing to note about Garp not wanting Luffy to be a pirate is that the World Government doesn’t allow ANY pirate (with a few exceptions) to roam the seas free as you like. So even if Luffy doesn’t do any actual pirate things (g-rape,pillage, murder etc) like other pirates do he will still be hunted like one 23:16 “IN THE HEART!!” The heart is on the LEFT Ange 😅
Although actually, most of Luffy's run-ins with marines were because he chose to oppose them (all, if you consider why he got his bounty in the first place). And when he was attacked or chased spontaneously, it was often against navy protocol.
The moment Mihawk decided NOT to take Luffy was very subtle. It was when he was addressing Luffy (21:56) and said, "...Though I do like your hat." Hinting he might know where that hat came from...
To give you an idea, Mihawk was introduced early on as a way to give the viewers/readers a taste of late Grandline pirates. He's so strong, he's at the top of the top in terms of skill and power, where even now, over 1000 chapters later, I don't know if any of the main cast can beat him.
Nami IS in charge: she's both the crew's navigator and quartermaster. The Captain has the highest authority, especially when it comes to battle, but the quartermaster is in charge of day-to-day operations and the money. In certain situations, the quartermaster can even outrank the captain!
You call him a loose unit every episode and I fucking love it. Also one piece's main story line is all about politics. It's a huge power dynamic. This episode is the beginning to that dynamic.
Tbf in the live action their motivations are not all clear. We really get to see their actual dreams at the last episode in a super awesome montage with the feet on the barrel. So we can't really blame them rn
Funny thing about the changed storyline stuff I remember seeing Oda was consulted on and asked about every change that happens &had to sign off on it for it to go ahead , if anything this is Oda now getting to retell the beginning of one piece with a better understanding of what he wanted. It is a masterpiece,my favorite ep ❤
From what I heard, including Garp this early was something they REALLY had to sell Oda on, he was initially against it. I'm personally glad he allowed the change.
Mihawk! The first character in the manga/anime to demonstrate the scale of power and strength in One Piece. Literally a thousand chapters/episodes later and we still haven’t seen him go all out.
28:35 Nope. That’s just his fighting style. He *NEVER£ fights with his hands. Because he believes a chef’s hands are for cooking, and fighting with his hands could lead to his hands getting hurt, which would impair his ability to cook.
This is the episode that shows you that you can be common but dressed strong in the world of One Piece like Garp or Mihawck who do not have any devil fruits and who are shown in the sea.
4:01 That pretty much sums up their relationship. Garp is angry that Luffy won’t follow the rules, but he’s damn proud of him because he made Luffy so strong.
Ep 5 is my fav episode and I've been waiting you guys to react to it. We are finally here and you guys exceed my expectation! I'm looking forward to the next episode! ❤
Basically the Mihawk encounter is a sneak peek into the powerlevel of late-game one piece. Mihawk is insanely strong, even right now in the manga (after 1000+ chapters) its unclear if Zoro would be ready. Also Garb and Mihawk being in the east blue is basically the equivalent of two level 100 characters roaming the starting area of a game 😂
Just Announced Today: Monkey D. Luffy will his very own Balloon Float in the 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving's Day Parade, cementing his legacy as Anime Royalty next to Goku and Pikachu. 2023 really has been Luffy's Year, THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!
Sanji's dream wasn't just to cook for everyone (yes, he will never ever not feed anyone who's hungry), his dream's to find ALL BLUE! It was mentioned in this episode right?😭 Sanji's dream wasn't just to cook for everyone (yes, he will never ever not feed anyone who's hungry), his dream's to find ALL BLUE! It was mentioned in this episode right?😭 And big YES to saying about Coby being the grandson that Garp has always wanted.
your question about the outfits. Every single outfit shown by all the cast on the screen come from the manga, some of them are cover pieces, some of them are parts of a story and some are colour specials. It's sort of amazing because I didn't remember Luffy in Dungarees until I saw the chapter cover with him dressed exactly like that a week later.
16:28 this guy, whose name is Gin, is on the crew that got destroyed by Mihawk when he was talking with Garp. In the anime, Mihawk destroys all their ships except the main one, and their captain, Don Krieg (the dude with the guns), survives and comes to Barratie. Mihawk followed their ship, and that's how he came to Barratie. Then Mihawk fought with Zoro, and he left, but Don Krieg fought with Luffy. In the live action, they didn't have enough time for this fight, so they changed Don Krieg and had Mihawk kill him.
"She should be in charge of the whole operation!" That's kinda Nami's unofficial role on the ship. Some of the Strawhats can be pretty dumb sometimes (not just Luffy), and Nami is usually the voice of reason. Well, more like the older sister who's had to deal with her brothers' shenanigans for too long.
16:24 the hungry guy was actually from Don Krieg's crew, the dude who got killed by Mihawk at the start of the episode. Things played out a little differently in the anime/manga.
Great video, you guys Han amazing observation observation. I love your guy's reactions. This episode was great with you, guyes, You both had me laughing a couple times as well. Can't wait to watch the rest of these guys.❤
So this is when we realise that at this point the crew are literally small fish in a big pond. The pond being the wider world. Just seeing how easily Zoro was defeated by this big pirate, and that there are 6 other pirates out their that rival his strength shows how unprepared the crew really is.
The first time mihawk appeared in the anime he became my favorite character untill so many episodes .... So many things happened and all of them are goods !! 👌
A cook's pride are his hands, so he would never risk them by fighting with them. It's never stated in the live action but it's mentioned the very first time he throws hands... uh throws feet in the original.
As you know, a few things are rushed and changed to condense the story in the live action, but zoro and mihawk are more expressive in the anime so they tend to form a bond of respect amongst each other as warriors. That is one reason mihawk lets him live.
Basically he uses his feet because the hands are for cooking... I kind of did the same when I was little, I was playing the violin so I didn't do any sports that could endanger my hands: basketball, volleyball...
Mihawk was introduced for one reason. And that is to show just how powerful the late series characters are. Mihawk would be the equivalent of the obligatory scene where you fight a late game boss early on in an RPG and it's an unwinnable battle. And contrary to popular belief, Gin's fleet in the LA series was clearly NOT destroyed by Mihawk. Mihawk got to the Baratie the next day after the fight with Don Krieg. Gin was adrift for three weeks. Unless people are trying to claim that time dilation exists in the Grand Line (which it doesn't), that doesn't add up. Gin was there to illustrate to the characters (and to anyone who's never seen One Piece) just how dangerous the Grand Line is. Even experienced and well prepared pirates and sailors that attempt to enter it often meet with terrible fates. Also a note. Yoru is one of the 12 Supreme Grade Blades. Remember this point, because it will become important later.
Remember, Garp is the guy who caught and oversaw the execution of Gold Roger. If the best pirate the world has ever seen couldn't beat the World Government, of course he wouldn't want Luffy becoming one.
You may have been told this already but the deal with Sanji is that he doesn't use his hands when fighting so that he won't injure them and affect his cooking. It's just one of his quirks.
They actually changed a lot of the Storyline for the Live Action....... For instance, Garp isn't supposed to show up in the Anime and Manga until the crew had long been in the Grand Line, and in fact he only showed up to smack Luffy for causing him a Headache as well as to show off Koby and Helmeppo's training. Also, the Crew upon learning that Garp is Luffy's Grandfather is just surprised by it but really doesn't care. They also changed the personalities of a few of the Characters......
Garp is a cool grandpa. He is like police officer who don't want his grandson to be in a gang. Straw Hats - good pirates, but most of them are bandits. And marine's duty is capture pirates. It is not so black and white as I said, but still, let be easy on Garp, he is old after all😅
tbf, in any verse, if you're considered the best or strongest at something, it better *mean something*. i love that both in orginal material and the LA, they introduce an actual top tier fighter from the beginning itself. really puts into perspective how high our little crew still has to climb

Mihawk stated that the world could use a few more wild cards like Luffy before he left, so he chose to leave him there to see what Luffy achieves in the world
I've been watching way too many reactions to this series, and you two have the most fun back and forth. It's a really fun dynamic.
I’ve been waiting for you guys to meet Dracule Mihawk he’s the greatest swordsman ever lived and one of the 7 warlords of the sea. 😊😤
Besides Ryuuma lol
I've been waiting for you guys to meet Mihawk when he becomes a member of Cross guild🗿maybe in a few years lol
Bro don't start spoiling guys . Ryuma and the cross guild don't appear untill super late in the story
They still have a loooong way to go
Yeah showing characters like Mihawk and Garp this early is so well done, bc they aren't just some of the first obstacles who become irrelevant eventually, they're straight up some of the most powerful people in the entire world
Yes and in the manga and anime after his defeat he calls luffy king of the pirates it's a shame they didn't include this
I'll leave you with two bits of dialogue from the anime in the Zoro vs. Mihawk battle.
When Mihawk stabbed Zoro from Zoro when Mihawk asked him why he doesn't step back when the blade is so close to his heart:
"I don't know. I'm not sure why myself.
But if I were to take even one step back,
I believe that all those important oaths, promises and many other deals 'til now,
will all go to waste and I'll never be able to return before you, ever again."
After Mihawk slashed Zoro from Mihawk:
"It's still too early for you to die.
But I like how mihawk still fought zoro without being arrogant or something...and I also like how zoro, even after losing, didn't leave the site and took the wound on his chest gracefully!
i mean yuji does fight sukuna (in his mind) and gets oneshot. pretty good estimation of how gojo vs yuji would go lol
Because mihawk was bored.
@@abiisaqib7816without being arrogant, lol
@@abiisaqib7816hes literally insulted Zoro the whole fight 😂😂😂 fym hes not arrogant??
I don't know if you noticed but there was a young Mihawk and young Shanks in the first episode
@@NovusodI think you're in the minority of thinking don krieg is the best, almost everyone else I've seen says he the worst, myself included
But don kreig was considered the strongest because arlong was basically hiding and scheming so he was not well known in the east blue in the anime.
politically driven is an understatement.
And most people don't even realize it.
@@lucianofrancesco4742 yeah it's wild how common that is nowadays, no idea how you can watch this without seeing at least SOME of the fact that the overarching themes of the story are all political
I'm glad that they picked up on it because even many long time fans just refuse to believe that there's political undertones to a series where law enforcement are frequently the antagonists 🙄
(among many many many other political plot points to come)
@@DNeonLamp Lol more like political overtones! Especially considering Robin's backstory and Nami's backstory and a PLETHORA of other characters. Things like Tashigi's realization during Alabasta, etc, etc.
Careful the one piece community hates it when ppl "politicise" the show
This ep was such a pivotal moment for Zoro and his character.
A Chef's hand is important to cook.
Mihawk spared luffy because he respected Luffy's goal, as he said "it's even more difficult than defeating ME" and people like luffy wholeheartedly and purely chasing the dream of the one peice is RARE.
5:22
It's comedic, but more than anything, this scene makes so much sense, because more than any current or future crewmates, Luffy and Zoro are extremely alike.
I do love that the first indication people are given that Luffy is no joke at the beginning of the series is that Roronoa Zoro follows him.
The flashback is both serious and comedic at the same time, it shows how similar yet different they both are as family members, Garp was serious about stopping Luffy becoming a pirate and turn him into a marine (for obvious reasons i feel like), he did train Luffy to become stronger during his childhood; however, the scene also shows how they still are family with that "but first... lunch" because food is always more important to the Monkey D. men

It's not hard to guess some things especially since he has watched other anime. It's the same tropes
So even if Luffy doesn’t do any actual pirate things (g-rape,pillage, murder etc) like other pirates do he will still be hunted like one
23:16 “IN THE HEART!!” The heart is on the LEFT Ange 😅
Although actually, most of Luffy's run-ins with marines were because he chose to oppose them (all, if you consider why he got his bounty in the first place).
And when he was attacked or chased spontaneously, it was often against navy protocol.
24:50 "They change it in the live action" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The moment Mihawk decided NOT to take Luffy was very subtle.
It was when he was addressing Luffy (21:56) and said, "...Though I do like your hat."
Hinting he might know where that hat came from...
To give you an idea, Mihawk was introduced early on as a way to give the viewers/readers a taste of late Grandline pirates. He's so strong, he's at the top of the top in terms of skill and power, where even now, over 1000 chapters later, I don't know if any of the main cast can beat him.
Stop the cap there are plenty of characters who can beat Mihawk.
Nami IS in charge: she's both the crew's navigator and quartermaster. The Captain has the highest authority, especially when it comes to battle, but the quartermaster is in charge of day-to-day operations and the money. In certain situations, the quartermaster can even outrank the captain!
“Carlie, please” that cracked me 😂😂 the way he said it too
You call him a loose unit every episode and I fucking love it.
Also one piece's main story line is all about politics. It's a huge power dynamic. This episode is the beginning to that dynamic.
So happy you guys liked Sanji and Mihawk! The actors were truly awesome!
My personal favorite episode of the season. Everything about it is so perfect
Sanjis goal isn't to cook for people, its to find the all blue
The All Blue Is Real!
Yes Sanji only fights using kicks. He learned fighting from Zeff who taught him that way because they need to keep their hands pristine for cooking
Garp is constantly feeling a mix of both frustration and pride with how good Luffy is😂
1:38 When she started talking about the grandpa evil twin thing, it immediately made me think of Gravity Falls😅😂
0:50 wow, that was a crazy prediction I wonder if that will happen later on
4:01
That pretty much sums up their relationship.

19:50 Mihawk at Baratie, 21:44 Mihawk Vs Zoro
Basically the Mihawk encounter is a sneak peek into the powerlevel of late-game one piece. Mihawk is insanely strong, even right now in the manga (after 1000+ chapters) its unclear if Zoro would be ready. Also Garb and Mihawk being in the east blue is basically the equivalent of two level 100 characters roaming the starting area of a game 😂

your question about the outfits.
Every single outfit shown by all the cast on the screen come from the manga, some of them are cover pieces, some of them are parts of a story and some are colour specials. It's sort of amazing because I didn't remember Luffy in Dungarees until I saw the chapter cover with him dressed exactly like that a week later.
Even after the end of the latest arc in one piece Zoro isn't strong enough to face Mihawk by a mile
Mihawk is Lvl 100 player in Lvl 10 seas. In anime, he said East Blue is the weakest of all regions.
"She should be in charge of the whole operation!"
That's kinda Nami's unofficial role on the ship. Some of the Strawhats can be pretty dumb sometimes (not just Luffy), and Nami is usually the voice of reason. Well, more like the older sister who's had to deal with her brothers' shenanigans for too long.
“Garp is the secret weapon” understatement of the year
16:24 the hungry guy was actually from Don Krieg's crew, the dude who got killed by Mihawk at the start of the episode.
Just seeing how easily Zoro was defeated by this big pirate, and that there are 6 other pirates out their that rival his strength shows how unprepared the crew really is.
in the anime, Nami does leave lol. We were shocked to see it other way around in OPLA.

A cook's pride are his hands, so he would never risk them by fighting with them.
It's never stated in the live action but it's mentioned the very first time he throws hands... uh throws feet in the original.
So great to see your reaction to this! Can't wait to see the remaining three episodes, because it's getting better and better :D
By the way, the girl that died, Zoro's friend (brainfarting the name) in the story she simply fell down some stairs.

One Piece is a Masterpiece and no one who hasn't watched it can ever see how Godly it is.
I love the way the Mihawrk, and Zoro fight mirrors Zoro's fight in the bar in episode one.
That hungry pirate was Gin. He was part of Don Krieg’s crew.
We’re his armada getting wiped out in our introduction to Mihawk.
Amazing love your op live action reaction. You have 1 new sub❤
"She should be in charge of the whole operation" 🤣 Yea, Nami the only one with working brain cells for a pretty long time
“What is with the loyalty to the muppet?!”
And subscribed.
As you know, a few things are rushed and changed to condense the story in the live action, but zoro and mihawk are more expressive in the anime so they tend to form a bond of respect amongst each other as warriors.
That is one reason mihawk lets him live.
ive been waiting for your update yaayyy
Basically he uses his feet because the hands are for cooking... I kind of did the same when I was little, I was playing the violin so I didn't do any sports that could endanger my hands: basketball, volleyball...
Fun fact: Sanji only kicks his enemies because he saves his arms for cooking only, and doesn't wanna stain them with blood
24:52 No this part is very similar like the anime. In both Zorror lives... with a terrible wound on his chest.
"I think they've got YOU all excited" IM DEAD LMAO
Remember, Garp is the guy who caught and oversaw the execution of Gold Roger. If the best pirate the world has ever seen couldn't beat the World Government, of course he wouldn't want Luffy becoming one.
You may have been told this already but the deal with Sanji is that he doesn't use his hands when fighting so that he won't injure them and affect his cooking. It's just one of his quirks.
Mihawk is the greatest swordsman in the world so zoro at this stage is like a actual fly to him in the live action and in the manga
Love your reactions!
It is not so black and white as I said, but still, let be easy on Garp, he is old after all😅
You’re smart angelo 👏👏
In anime why sanji fight with his feet, cause his hands to help people with his cooking n not to harm others
tbf, in any verse, if you're considered the best or strongest at something, it better *mean something*. i love that both in orginal material and the LA, they introduce an actual top tier fighter from the beginning itself. really puts into perspective how high our little crew still has to climb
"Angelo will be a Helmeppo stan" is the one prediction I never could have made about this series." :D
Also, every time you see someone fixated on Luffy's hat (Mihawk: "I do like your hat"), it's because they recognize it as Shanks' hat.
