One thing you might wanna see that gives extra info (and is funny to see) is how Buggy ate his Devil Fruit. He literally swallowed a pineapple whole by accident. His throat is on another level 😂
So the number of DFs is estimated to be around 100 maybe even more. After 1,000 episodes of the Anime I've personally seen dozens upon dozens. Multiple categories and types. Also other abilities you may have been teased by with Shanks. From taking down a corrupt Marine Captain, to being Captain of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet that reaches multiple island nations all allied with Luffy. From a small boy with a big dream, to facing down the biggest Titans of the world. Luffy is here to liberate everyone on his path to freedom.
Also, just so you guys know, the creator of One Piece is one of the executive producers of the show and was personally responsible for overseeing the casting and the script, which is mainly why this live action so faithful to the source material.
Fun fact: The actor for Cabaji (unicycle guy) actually was a performer for the Cirque du Soliel. They found a literal acrobat to play the acrobat from the show who looks just like the anime character. By the way... Ange should learn to play "Bink's sake" on the guitar. Acoustic would probably be a better choice. Would be a rather... nostalgic and emotional intro piece, but you'll find out why later.
one of the most enjoyable bits of the worldbuilding is they don't explain everything. They use snails for phones, sure. The grandline is cut off from the rest of the world. Why not? They don't handhold and explain every little detail. It just is now sit back and enjoy the goofball pirate as he does crazy shit across the world and accept that certain things just are the way they are.
@@random3x70 Yeah and it totally works because he explains SOME of the rules and lore but doesn't force feed ALL of it too you. Which also allows him to modify as the arcs go on and on and on. I love it.
In the anime, Luffy was thrown off the boat, and Shanks swam to him after the sea king got the bandit (Luffy can't swim now). The rest of the scene happened almost the same, but there was no boat, Shanks was keeping them afloat. But I guess it's difficult to film an emotional scene while also swimming...
Looking back there are a lot of things that seem so inconsequential in the manga/anime(Luffy's sandals for instance) that become either difficult to film or straight up dangerous for actors to replicate in live action.
@@vicknashraj For good reason. There's a scene later where Luffy is coming down off the figurehead of the ships prow and you can see the actor slipped slightly even with actual shoes. With real sets and tons of water involved, sandals were a broken ankle waiting to happen really.
For the shanks vs seamonster part, without spoilers: Yes there is a good explanation of what happened there. It will not be revealed for a long time, even with the pacing of the live action but its not just "an anime moment" or "talk-no-jutsu". The scene is supposed to be a hint that shanks is very special and powerful and not just some random cool pirate. Also notice how he wasnt affected by the water (he had to swim there) so his powers arent tied to a devil fruit either.
@@cdot32 oh i see. The length of the live adaptation is worth around 24 episodes but it already covered 40 episodes which means they really cut many scenes to maintain good pacing.
Like luffy and koby talked about in episode one. There is good pirates and bad pirates, there is also good marines and bad marines it’s up to you guys to decide if you think a marine is bad or just doing their job
Until recently Shanks was basically an an enigma. After he left windmill village he was very rarely ever shown and everything about him was always kept shady for a reason. Everything will be revealed and explained later on
God I love Buggy so much. How the hell they managed to make such a goofy character, goofy, scary, funny....and more at the same time....I will never know. Everything in this show is SPOT on.
Buggy's relationship to Shanks, Luffy (and many more)etc... is one of my favourite things about One piece. I always am happy to see Buggy in the story. There are quite a few other characters for which I feel the same and I think most people in the fandom could hazard a guess.
I like your reaction! Just to clarify, Shanks went with his own boat to rescue Luffy. The boat where the bandit and Luffy were going was sunk by the sea monster and Shanks rescued Luffy and put him on his boat.
@@anthonycurby4606 Just look at the scene more closely. The first boat has a different design, edges and colors than the second where Shanks and Luffy are currently.
32:40 Let''s just not forget that in the Live action, we are seeing actors from around the globe. So, even if Garp is Scotish, or someone else has an accent, keep in mind that this it's just a role, filled up by a human with an accent. In the Anime, they all have japanese voice and not an accent so don t asume different things from accents. They doesn't exist, but it s a nice touch to the live action, so i like it too
Actually in anime and manga also many characters have specific accents (actual Japanese dialects or madeup dialects)... And that's pretty common in anime with different places, different types of people etc... and generally the dialect a character speaks in informs on their character. There are lot more other nuances in Japanese speech patterns which are used differently fir different characters to give more individuality to the characters and those speech patterns can say a lot about a character's personality, psychie and background. These things just gets lost in the subtitles
There are some things you just need to accept for the moment, if you are not going to start the anime, this show is pretty long, there are explanations for everything but the author is the kind of guy to introduce something in like episode 5 with no explanation and resolve it in like episode 500😂
It's SO cool to see you react as you discover everything about One Piece universe, making theory and etc aha I would like so much to be back at this time to discover it once again 😄
I'm going to say this, I'm currently 22 years old and I've been a One Piece fan since 2019 and I'm caught up with both anime and manga. My personal advice with One Piece if you're a new entrant to the series, I'll first tell you as a fan: "Hello, and welcome aboard this journey." and second I'll tell you this: Pay close attention to everything that happens even if it is a comic dialogue or where it explains something important and the characters that appear in the story, if you have the patience have a pencil and notebook at hand and write down names of characters and things that are being mentioned because it will most likely be important for later in the story. Now, go and enjoy the journey with all of us. It's always great see new people coming to this series. 👒☠️🔥👍
My favorite moment in the episode, both live action and anime, is when Nami fixes Luffy’s hat. After all, if there’s one thing Nami understands it’s the value of treasure.
18:55 There is a reasonable explanation, but until we get to that explanation it's best to just see it as Shanks having been able to intimidate the Sea King (I believe that's the english name of the monster) to the point of scaring it away.
A lot of scenes were redone multiple times because the creator and executive producer, Oda, was not satisfied with them. He oversaw the casting and scripts too. This show is the most watched series on Netflix in 83 countries, and there is a Season 2 announced about a week ago. This live action covers about 96 manga chapters and about 40-ish anime episodes. A lot of scenes were cut to fit everything into an 8-episode length, but I think all that was changed was perfect, especially for new watchers. This show has a budget of about $18 million per episode, and the most expensive scene was the one with the beast (they're called Sea Kings).
It's an odd quirk of the adaptation that the flashback actually draws focus to different things. The manga took more time to emphasise that Higuma, apparently a pretty infamous bandit in the area, couldn't even make it out of sight of the shore on the weakest sea before being hopelessly out of his depth and promptly eaten (incidentally, when Luffy set sail he punched out the monster to get past it). Shanks arriving to save Luffy, swimming all the way, and then being able to mysteriously scare off the monster by glaring at it, got much less focus, whereas here it's much more explicit something wierd happened there.
I love seeing people react to shanks with the sea monster. You could say he talked to it in the anime he says the same line but in the anime you can see that the monster is actually scared of shanks and runs away . I’m the life action it makes it seem like the monster listened.
There are hundreds of devil fruits out there. They are really rare and each exists only once until it's eaten. Only if the User dies it growth's back somewhere on earth.

How Shanks got there in the middle of the ocean and how he intimidated the sea monster, these questions all are answered in the manga 400chapters later.
The One Piece is in the Grand Line, and that is a place where entering it is a one-way trip (at least as far as anyone knows). That's why Shanks said they weren't coming back. He knew what entering the Grand Line means.

Here comes buggy d clown the absolute goat....❤ And "how did he get there?" Not even the characters of one piece can't answer that question 😂😂 he will be there when it's needs to be..
4:41 - Oda confirmed that the One Piece is actually a material thing, though he didn't specify exactly what it was. So we don't know if it's a treasure in the traditional sense, or if it's something else. But it is a physical thing that exists.
The fun thing about one piece is that it uses so many "anime cliche's" and relies on them to make you not question anything, and then gives explanations to everything in a way that makes you feel dumb for not questioning it before

A lot of the live action is different from the anime and manga, like this entire arc. In the anime and manga it was set outside and there was no circus. Characters like Cabaji (that guy who played that knife wheel game on Zoro) got more screen time and actually did something and Buggy was actually less sinister (I love this change). Personally I'm all for some of the changes in the show (the start of One Piece in the anime and manga are very slow), especially because Oda (the creator of One Piece) is an executive producer.
knew that the story of One Piece as such that of Gold Roger is real because in real life was known by Olivier Levasseur his real name and the one piece of real life even archaeologists look for it because is not deciphered its location by the inscribed made code echo of a language that the Templars understood at that time and postscript xD shanks and his crew have no fruit and yet they are broken xD

"...They don't taste very good."
Buggy!!!! Yay!!!! He he he! I love Buggy.
Also I love clowns. It’s an art form.
“So they’re gonna meet again probably”, lmao
15:49 “he ate the fruit too! ohh, I thought he had a bullet fruit abilities or smth"
25:00 “he’s got rizz” oh Carlie 💀
The most worth it anime world to explore. The best story-telling and world building.
We love Buggy D CLOWN
HA! Did she just say lock him up and burn him alive!? Lololol... I'm dead...
16:08 the scene was skipped on this reaction video but keep in mind the name "Yasopp" of his headband.
Fun fact: Shanks and his crew has lots of Viking inspiration.
I don't know who is more unhinged Carlie or Luffy😂
9:25 You need to go easy on Carlie, she's quite right, she didn't know to what extent the villagers were being held hostage, then she saw the destroyed town and said what she said, please don't steal her thunder and speak to her that makes her look stupid.
