SURPRISE!!! A SPECIAL DROP!!! We have never watched any One Piece before, but with all the hype right now, we felt this was a great opportunity to jump in! And we have to say....We are pretty shocked at how much we enjoyed episode 1! Excited for the rest of the season! . Also, to everyone who thinks we should have watched the anime first. We hear you! But, realistically We wont be starting the anime for another 6-8 months (until we finish Naruto, then will do another BIG pole between Bleach and OP to decide the order of our next BIG 3 Anime). So, we will prob forget everything that happened in the live action by the time we start the anime anyways.🤣Excited to compare when we do get around to it though!
This is totally fine coming from a huge OP fan. The love action has captured the essence of the show, yes things are different but they ultimately don't change the ongoing narrative points, this was all designed for people like yourselves!!! Jump in, discover the world, and we'll see you in the New World 😉
Nami hung around luffy because it was the smart thing to do. They both were trespassing, so if it boils down to her saving her own life, she can use him as a human shield or otherwise. It wouldn't benefit her to just knock him out if they have a mutual goal.
Yeah - I didn't get anything about Nami that indicates she would choose direct confrontation when there's other options. She demonstrates that she's capable of fighting. But every time she has an alternative option, she's taken it.
Also, she didn't want him to get the map and just leave without her having a chance to get it too - remember she was there originally for the map and only joined him after he said he wanted it too, so it makes sense she wants to ensure that he doesn't get it. Then it's locked in a safe and people are looking for them so why not take along two guys who can fight well and seem safe enough?
@@gabrielrocha706 The only one on that list that's reasonable is kid Kuina, she didn't really do it for me. The others were perfect, I don't think there's anybody out there that would be better.
As a fan of this story for over 10 years I can't believe they actually did it well in Live action, I can't wait for y'all to start reacting to the One Piece anime one day
@@josephjoestar4633 they actually struggled how to show the back stories in this summarized version live action series of one piece sooooo... At least they showed it, tho.
In this episode, Zoro was told "For assaulting a marine, you gotta spend a week in the yard. Then Ill set you free with your money." Thats why he "let himself get captured." But then the axe hand's son said to him, "It wasnt true, hes not going to let you go, you're going to die here." So then Zoro realizes "Ah, okay, I was lied to, I gotta escape." Also, dont like fret about weird hair colors lol, thats like the least of the oddities of characters in one piece :P
I can't help but wonder if Helmeppo was bullshitting Zoro there, as we don't really see this version of Morgan do anything villainous. Misappropriating funds for his statues/paintings maybe?
They do change up some things in the live action, introduce some things early or just completely change up some things but yea the whole purpose of the live action is to get a whole new audience to OP. I’m halfway through and I think theyve done great so far, some things even better than the anime ngl. I personally didn’t like some of the early arcs that much and enjoyed what they did with them in the LA.
Anime and manga fans keep saying that the purpose is to get people into the manga and anime. No its not. Nobody involved has ever said that. Why would Netflix spend 20 million dollars an episode so Shonen jump magazine can get more subscribers? They want to make this good on its own. And I think they did that.
@@Ledpooplin55 Of course they wanted to make it good on it's own but Oda and others know that this is the last chance to make One Piece bigger in the West. The 4kidz dub really gave One Piece a bad name in the West and hopefully this show changes that.
@@Ledpooplin55dumbo Oda himself said on a magazine weekly comments that this LA is his last chance to make OP more popular globally. That's why we said it's for non fan
@nv5116 don't start a reply off with Dumbo if you're going to say something dumb. Do you really think that I was saying that Oda isn't doing this to make One Piece more popular? Even if your reading comprehension is that bad, wouldn't a little common sense just make you go 'wait, that doesn't make sense, so I must be misunderstanding something'. But no, you barrel in and say Oda wants One Piece to be popular? Wow, thats so controversial. Jesus man, of course Oda wants One Piece to be popular, that doesn't mean the live action is meant to get people to read the manga. Thats what I'm saying. How are you not understanding this? I cannot explain it any more simple than I am. I'm saying Oda doesnt care how one piece gets popular, Oda doesn't care about the medium it is consumed on. Therefore, to say that this is all supposed to get people to watch the anime or manga is not only false but an insult to the intelligence and hard work and money of everyone who put this show together. Ffs, learn how to read Mr LA weekly.
@@Ledpooplin55are you trying to say that I’m saying the LA is for people to get into the anime/manga as well or are you just talking about it in general?
There's actually no reason why Nami would, based on previous characterization, start fighting Luffy in the map room. He's not a marine, he's also sneaking into the base, he's not trying to stop her, so why make unnecessary noise?
Something told me you guys would still watch this hahaha!!! This only covers like the first 50-60 episodes of the anime so there will be some minor spoilers but nothing significant to the story in its entirety. This comment is before the video so i really hope u guys like my favorite anime of all time! LETS GOO!!
@@leespn4396 thats not really significant to the story tho...so it's basically harmless. They are still gonna have a BLAST once they get to the anime itself.
@@leespn4396 At least they didn't spoled his dad...although...i think i saw the actor who was casted to be him in Nami's village...i am 99% certain i saw him. Also, Luffy's father scenes were cut, a bummer...they've probably left it for the start of season 2.
@@thegoldentooth9581 Old enough to have been watching One Piece for over 20 years; let's just leave it at that. Took me a few years to get into it. I, like many anime snobs in those days, was a little put off by the art style.
Lmaoo and this is just one ep from LA 😂 . THE CHARACTER CASTS ARE ALMOST PERFECT!!!!!! And if you want to watch one piece just remember one thing. Always prepare your tissues 😂
This 8 episode adaptation covers 60ish episodes of the anime and 95 chapters of the manga. It is a very condensed fast paced version of the source material and some very large changes were made along the way. However, it stays very true to the series and manages to really land the essence of the story and still hit major plot points, even while having such big changes. Its a solid 8/10 and really a wonderful starting point for getting people interested in ACTUAL One Piece.
One Piece Live Action is perfect for newcomers. It is a close adaptation (so not exactly the same plot, but still faithful to the source) that imo serves as a good introduction to the story and its characters. It is a great show, and if it gets your emotions going, just know that the anime is even waaayy more emotional (PD: Chouchou, I understand why your storyline was cut in the Live Action, but the anime will always be your home T-T).
I think you guys should just keep watching the TV shows and only the TV shows. Because I want to watch non-fan OP react to the live action. Especially for years to come. I want to watch you guys react to s2,3 and beyond knowing nothing about the original. That is just so much fun. One piece fan base is already an army, we don't need more But the Live action does need an army. Since I believe OPLA can go on for at least 4-5 seasons. Unless it gets cancelled and you guys want more then obviously jump to the anime...
You’re the first reactors I’ve seen that know pretty much nothing about One Piece going into this live action. That makes your reaction a lot more genuine. And the fact that you already love it after the first episode tells me that this might end up being one of your favorite shows ever!
As a fan of this story for nearly 10 years, I can not express enough, my happiness and excitement for this show. The people behind the live action are real One Piece fans and to have Oda sensei working closely with them was a MASSIVE W. You two are in for a wild, fun, epic ride of comedy and emotion with this series. So glad you enjoyed the first episode, it only get's better from here.
26:54 Actually, it´s based on the original work, which is the Manga. The author, Eichiro Oda, doesn´t even oversees the anime personally, but he´s an executive producer of the live action, and he was VERY strict on all the choices made for this show. And that´s why it came out this good. Also, the entire season of the live action covers approximately the first 90 chapters of the Manga. There are actually 1094 chapters of the Manga at the present day. Oda started publishing it in 1997.
right???? they used manga as their guide line, they adapted the manga, not the anime so there's some informations that wasn't mention in the anime but has happened in the manga that was shown or mentioned in live action. I hope there's more episodes. All actors so far is so good, especially Emily who nailed the scene where she's kneeling, crying out arlong’s name, stabbing her tattoo, and the help me scene, sooooo good. I cried in that scene. I don't care about actors who doesn't look like the anime characters. They were wearing the same clothes, with the same hair, with same skin color, that's all fine to me, as long as they can act and actually slays their role well. And they all do. Oda did such a great job picking actors.
Tbh i think its really interesting seeing someone who never watched one piece to this show, most others have seen it so you will have a different take. Also reacting to the anime with knowledge of the live action will be interesting and will you have a different take in the beginning and also was never done before
More like the first 35 Episodes, the Anime had some Filler Episodes/Arcs at the Beginning. What I really was surprised of watching the first Episode was, that they already introduced Garp here. At the Anime, Garp Shows up at around Episode 400 (when I remember correctly, it must be the Marine Ford Arc at the Red Line).
@@Kkk-mi1ob That's true, but I was wrong anyway. The End of the Arlong Arc was Episode 44 and in these 44 episodes, there was only one real filler episode. I thought there where 4 or 5, but they came after the Arlong Arc.
@@solstyss8977 I've had a look now. We were both so wrong. Garp's first appearance in the anime was in episode 68.🤣 And the first encounter with Ruffy was in Episode 313.
In anime there were 2 reason why Axe hand morgon had Iron Jaw, 1- His Jaw got broken trying to catch Kuro (Captain of Black cats) 2- He had butt chin, which don't inspire fear in people (His kid also had that in anime but its too goofy for LA) so you can just think his jaw got broken, so that's like an implant or cast for his jaw
As someone who read the one piece manga since 2002 until present day........... i approve of this show. i freaking love it and i'm so happy i got to experience it in live action. i love all the actors and actresses. i seriously hope they continue with more seasons... pleassseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
They didn't skip much but you guys are just overthinking about everything and missing out on details or listen to the dialogues which would've clarified most of your doubts. I suggest you to try to listen and watch the episode and not try to over analyse and over think constantly, especially when things are just being setup in the pilot. Let it reveal Every slowly and enjoy the ride, as its pretty well paced without skipping much giving all the necessary details. So, just being attentive and going along with whats being shown will give you more clarity than overthinking stuff. Just a small suggestion from my side that's it. This live action is made for people new to one piece and so they will fill in the gaps eventually, and that's the style of storytelling they are taking. Its not skipping things. Technically this whole first episode is roughly a combination of 2-3.5 episodes in anime with some restructuring and changes. So, it's not rushed in any way... In fact its condensed and gave more time to the intimate conversations even better than anime.. in some cases... By cutting some parts which are not essential for the overall plot. Since you are watching a good adaptation and you didn't watch the anime, don't think about anime.. like "is this in the anime?" Etc etc. I suggest consume it as its own thing, as it is true to the essence, overall plot, characters and heart of the animanga (even though they moved and changed things around to make it fit fir live action and they naied it), so just roll with it and enjoy it as any other TV show. That would be more enjoyable. You don't think of the Marvel comics while watching the Avengers movies.. of MCU... Just treat it that way.
As a Mangareader of OP since the beginning (1997) , the Live Action is really good to enter in the world of OP without been lost with many many details. Can't wait more season of this Live Action.
I got into it in the early 2010's, and I caught up with the manga during the Paramount War. The live action is a shockingly well done adaptation that has good content for both new and old fans.
You would definitely like One Piece, i am really sure some Tattoos would be added. The live action is really good and a nice and easy start into the show
In my opinion, all of the castings are perfect especially the main cast. Do keep in mind that the author of One Piece was very hands-on with this project and he specifically chose all the casts to fit their roles perfectly, thats why a lot of fans enjoys this live action. Love the decision to react to it, keep up the good work
I think it kind of works that Nami became friendly with Luffy. They both aren't supposed to be there and she can use her as a fallback if things gets bad or as help depending on the situation. She's alone surrounded by enemies and the enemy of my enemy is my friend kind of thing.
Well that's kinda true but she also doesn't know anything about Luffy, and she's supposed to be so smart and deadly, and to randomly follow him is kinda out of character, the anime did a great job on that but to be fair, they needed to hook people in the first episode so I get why they'd do that, I kinda wished they did it in a better way
The casting is the perfection in this live action. I am so happy you two enjoyed it. Btw, in the world of the one piece, the last name is announced first, middle name, then first name. So in case of Luffy, Monkey is his last name, D is his middle name, then Luffy is the first name.
For the one that had the iron jaw, it is never shown in the live action. But, in the anime, his jaw was broken, and he went for that instead of just fixing it for the intimidation factor.
The creator wants people who've never seen One Piece or read it to get their teeth into One Piece and as someone who's been a fan of One Piece since he was 16 it's the best jumping in point for the story and was made with complete love.
Yay! I'm so happy you guys are watching this!! The Live Action made a really good adaptation, cause many things you see here it's not on the anime (or not in the same context or order) but it works very well, cause the spirit of it is there, it is fun and adventurous and the characters are really the real deal! On this first season there are about 60 episodes of the anime, which is not as graphic (it's more cartoony), but the story and worldbuilding are masterpieces!
The trick with one piece is that the world feels expansive because people will discuss something casually and you have no idea what it means and don’t find out for a long time then it turns out to be huge
The actors are great, and they've done a reasonably good job of abridging the story considering how much they had to cover. (I have one issue with the last episode, but it's not the worst, just not as good as I'd have liked.) They also really worked in a ton of references you only get if you've been watching the anime or reading the manga, which was a nice touch.
They did explain why Zoro let them arrest him and wanting to leave later. Zoro wanted to collect the bounty but captain Morgan tells him, the offense of assaulting a Marine his punishment is to be hung at the post for 7 days. They both agreed that after 7 days he would be released. After Morgan's son taunt Zoro he tells Zoro that Morgan was never going to honor his word even though the Marine are the "good guys". Realizing he's going to die if he stays, Zoro decides to leave before the 7 days.
everything about the live action was 10/10 the actors, the acting, the store, even the pacing was amazing. they did leave out so much so I recommend watching from the very beginning when you start watching the anime!
@@SplyttScreenyou crazy even watching 3 eps a day they still would barely get caught up in a year+ they are already watching like 7 other animes so they wouldn't even have time to watch it 😂
i am caught up with all the eps of one piece and they got the heart of one piece and the characters I love for years were picked by amazing actors to portray them.
19:36 There's one good reason why she's willing to work with Luffy so quickly-and it is explained in the anime, but only implied in the Live Action: He's her scapegoat. For her, at that time in their relationship, his best use is to be tripped so the proverbial bear mauls him while she makes her escape. And she actually does this against Buggy.
Glad You guys are enjoying this. As a fan of One Piece I am really happy how the adaptation turns out, it's slightly different from the Manga or anime but has it's own charm
The characters for the main cast is at first off putting 😵💫 but then you grow to love them drastically and they fit so well for each character as the episodes go on and it’s just AMAZING
I'm in the same boat (no pun intended), I never watched the anime and wasn't planning on it no matter how many good things I hear. Thought I'd watch the live adaptation since it's only 8 episodes. Right now, I JUST finished episode 6 and I never thought I'd be this invested. Excited for you guys to experience it too! Maybe I might watch the anime after, who knows...
The anime is better. OP gets alot of hate for how goofy it is and the visuals...but the story is like no other imo. I started off not liking it too like alot of people. Decided to give it a try one day cause i was bored and since then...im one of the biggest fans for over 10 years. Its my favorite anime to this day
Luffy the main character is so lovable. He is overly optimistic, has confidence and can be naive. But he will always win peoples heart. Oda (creator/mangaka of one piece) picked Iñaki Godoy (actor who's playing Monkey D. Luffy) because he makes him laugh and that he embodies true Luffy energy.
with past anime adaptations i had low hopes for this, but omg i binged all of it in 1 sitting, i could'nt stop watching, its blew my expectations out of the water, i love the casting of the main crew, i love how they cut and changed parts of the story to make it fit into live action instead of trying to fit like 10 ep into 1 which would've gone so bad, really hope there's a season 2 in the works now.
Bro, no shame in riding the hype wave. This is a time investment and also a business y'all are running, so fair game. And it worked, cause I found the channel through it, soo... Keep up the great work!
Yea, i think its better that you guys watch the live action first. To follow the flow :D of youtube is indeed a creators important decision and also that it helps bridge it as well and also some stuff in the show is going ti be different than in the anime like chracters decisions. 🙂
This show was made for ppl who hv never watched it. Fact is ppl who hvnt seen the series probs will never cuz they either don't watch anime at all or the number of eps scares them away. This live action journey is for yall enjoy it and welcome to the THE ONE PIECE family!!!!
i hope this show is wonderful for you guys!! as someone whose watched and read one piece, this show is phenomenal! hopefully it lets you love one piece and motivates you guys to read/watch the manga and anime!
Yes, why wouldn't Nami pick completely unessisary fights that could draw attention to her, especially when her opponent knows she isn't a marriean so if anyone is drawn to the commotion her cover is blown. After all using this powerful fool and tricking him latter to get what she wants would just be dumb. Yes, this is sarcasm.
No spoilers. Thank you for your response to the live-action version of One Piece. I'm happy to see that the two people on this channel are getting good reviews. Personally, I think the cast and actors are exquisite. I've been reading One Piece since it was first serialized in a manga magazine, right up to the same point as all the episodes in this series. I think that the scenes that are the same as the manga and the places that are different are well-balanced. ONE PIECE is like a kind of textbook in manga, and itself stands like a dictionary or bible in life. There are so many episodes that I can't tell you all about them, so this drama is well organized and easy to watch. The manga One Piece has a complicated and long story, even for Japanese people, and has caused many disappointments. It's a work that some people read while supplementing it with anime. It might be a good fit for NARUTO loss who comes after watching NARUTO.
Agreed. Caveat though. The anime has quite a few fillers. I always skip them but people have said that One Piece fillers are generally good. If you ever start reacting to the anime, decide for yourself how you're gonna address the fillers. Major thing to note though, most of the fillers aren't canon.
The story is good. The anime is not that great, it suffers from the same problems as the peers from its generation (the main one being HORRID pacing with tons and tons of wasted time) which even the current episodes of One Piece still suffers from (as an example the only thing that happened in episode 1073 is that they put out a fire, outrageous). They waste so much time that even if the rest is good it doesn't feel as good as it should.
Zoro surrendered so he could continue being a pirate hunter because Axe Hand Morgan threatened to jam him up if he fought back. Then, Morgan's kid (whose name is Helmeppo, but I don't think they actually said it) tells him that Morgan doesn't plan to actually let him go -- he's going to let him die in the yard instead. When Luffy unties him, he leaves because he doesn't actually have the option to just ride out his sentence and go on his way. He basically has the choice to either stay there, get tied up again, and die, or go get his stuff and leave.
I feel like this is manga accurate, I've watched all 8 episodes. Only if you say it's better than the manga, no it's not. If you say it's worse, no, it's not. You can't compare them because they have their own interests. So far, this is number 2 the best. Number 1 is still Alice in Borderland Live action Netflix series. and number 3, Rurouni kenshin movie 1-5.
I've been a fan of one piece for 7 years. And I appreciate the actors who put their everything in this show. They know how scary it can be, despite of the pressure and criticisms they will face, they still did their best and they put love and passion. I've watched all episodes at one and it was so freaking good, I want to see more. All actors slays their role, I don't really care much about the appearance or actors doesn't look like the anime characters, they are wearing the characters clothes, with same hair, same skin, it's all fine. As long as they can act their roles well, I have no problem. They used the manga as their guide, they adapted the manga, not the anime so there's some information that wasn't shown in the anime but it's on the manga. Oda did such a great job picking actors, some fans expecting models or cosplayers when actors is there who can actually act. I don't get them. But yeah, Oda did such a great job. Iñaki is the best actor as luffy, luffy’s eyes is big and Iñaki's eyes fits and has that light. His smile is so cute too, and yeah he's hilarious especially when you guys watch one piece casts interviews. Oda laughed when he first saw him🤣
The cast choice is absolutely on point. Story-wise because it's a live-action series divided into seasons, so they definitely cut out a lot of stories to fit into the series. I personally still love the original story in manga/anime, but the live-action captured most of the important scenes.
Realistically you can cut like 300 episodes. A lot of them are completely useless filler arcs, non-canon and recaps. There's an episode guide somewhere the tells you which ones you can skip
@@simple_1866 only a few good episodes not worth wasting your time watching a show where most of it is just ok and the few good episodes are not that good
WELCOME ABOARD!!! The actors are Perfect! And to answer your question: This was th first 3 episodes of the Anime, with bits and pieces of episodes 4 and 5. As for Zoro escaping, Helmeppo (haircut) told him his father was gonna kill him anyway, so I'm guessing he didn't wanna take his chances. We're glad to have you here! Oh! And remember what Captain Morgan said about how nobody had escaped him... Might come up later!
The voice actors for the Japanese dub of this are the same VAs for the actual anime if you wanted to switch it up and also sort of acclimated into the anime.
Actors were picked from the Manga creator himself. All costumes come straight from the manga as well. While the story is a bit changed to fit like 100 chapters of the manga into 8 episodes, but some would argue that some of it is even better than the source material. It's not perfect, but it does feel the same way as the manga/anime and it respects the source material, and that is precisely why this is successful. As a person that has read/watched one piece for 18 years, I am really happy with this adaptation and I really appreciate the hundreds of Easter eggs put into this, there are not only tributes to the anime/manga, there is also a ton of forshadowing, which is one of strong points of one piece as a story.
Dang was hoping you guys would watch the anime first, this will definitely ruin the first few arcs.. but I get wanting to jump on the hype train and hope it helps motivate you guys to start the anime!
There is 1 major hype thing they reveal in the live action thats not normally revealed in the anime for a couple hundred episodes. Which is a shame, but i don't think is a solid reason to refuse to watch it. This is the only real downside to watching it first, otherwise its pretty accurate to the early story (for the most part anyway) and is a good introduction. lt doesn't take away from the anime or ruin anything major for you guys, besides maybe feeling a bit like you are rewatching for the first couple dozen episodes if you eventually start the anime, which isn't a huge deal. This is a good testament to how accurate it is! OPLA is a good introduction to the world and series overall.
I’m so happy you guys jumped onto the OPLA train! ☺️ I love watching your guy’s reaction to this amazing show, and I can’t wait to see more of you guys watching it.
Even if you watch the anime, you couldnt get all of the full story without reading the manga (SBS & cover story are very important). But please continue, the Live Action, Anime and Manga of One Piece! Because each has its own interesting way to be enjoyed!
26:55 Hair color is essential in old school anime. It inidates character traits. Coby has pink hair because he is naive and a bit of an idealist. Green hair on Zoro means he's practical and grounded. Orange hair on Nami means she's independent and quick to anger (not quite as bad as if she had red hair). I love that they used the hair colors. Such a respectful nod to the manga/anime.
You can absolutely float in a barrel. People actually do that and go down the Niagra Falls for fun. As for why they brought the barrel onboard, they didn't do a good job of showing it, but it was after the fight. They were most likely looting from the wreckage of the other ship and didn't realize that particular barrel had floated in from somewhere else.
The casting is perfect and they actually care about one piece as well. We can see that they really care and put effort into all the ships and sets for the islands. One thing we were scared about was that they were gonna change the core of one piece but it is what I am most happy about. A few things about the episode. Zoro didn’t wait because the Son of Morgan said they were not gonna wait the seven days anyways and kill him. He mentioned that. Things like Morgan’s jaw were never explained in the anime but we can tell is just a design by Oda the Mangaka. There were no dialogues that were super important or character defining that they skipped. Is not a 1:1 adaptation but trust me they keep things true to the manga.
One thing for the cast is they are the exact race of the character in the anime and it is cleannnn like in the anime you get the vibe but with the live action you truly get to learn the character and the background of ethnicity
Honestly I am glad you’re reacting to the live action cause it would be a different viewing experience because you guys have no knowledge of One Piece. And when you do start reacting to the anime, you’ll be seeing the differences and everything between the live action and anime. Which is gonna be nice reactions to see! Glad to see this!
They did an excellent job with the casting! As a long time fan, the entire production, costumes , and casting are so well done it makes me so happy. The first 8 episodes covers about 40 episodes of anime.
I've been a fan of one piece since 2004. Yes, this show targets newcomers, none one-piece fans. This series adapts to some brutal side of manga. It's feels really amazing to see how non one piece fans positively react to this live action. I'm proud to be a hardcore one-piece fan ❤
I say watch both the anime and the Live Action. :) This is, I think, the best anime adaption I’ve seen. It has stuff from the manga that the anime doesn’t and some awesome stuff. Don’t let anyone spoil One Piece though cause it’s awesome to see blind reacts. Also it’s “Looffy” not “lahffy” for “Luffy”. Nami, orange girl, was friendly cause they both want the same thing. The map. So she figured it would be best to partner up for the common goal and take it later. Welcome to the One Piece Nakama! Super excited you joined us!

In this episode, Zoro was told "For assaulting a marine, you gotta spend a week in the yard. Then Ill set you free with your money." Thats why he "let himself get captured." But then the axe hand's son said to him, "It wasnt true, hes not going to let you go, you're going to die here." So then Zoro realizes "Ah, okay, I was lied to, I gotta escape." Also, dont like fret about weird hair colors lol, thats like the least of the oddities of characters in one piece :P
Can't wait for them to see the cat lady and the weird vampire dude (Kuro part, not trying to spoil). They are so goofy but it's good
I can't help but wonder if Helmeppo was bullshitting Zoro there, as we don't really see this version of Morgan do anything villainous. Misappropriating funds for his statues/paintings maybe?
Also the son was playing with his sword. Fuck that guy.

This only covers like the first 50-60 episodes of the anime so there will be some minor spoilers but nothing significant to the story in its entirety.

.
44 episodes, not 60
This version does not skip too much. It’s more like the story being secretive and will reveal itself as it continues.
I think pretty much all of the actors fit perfectly but ESPECIALLY Buggy, his actor does a phenomenal job throughout.
i thought for a second you said all the actors fit except for buggy lol
I actually like buggy here more than the anime
The Buggy actor is straight up phenomenal, I agree...
One Piece is amazing. If you enjoy the live action then the anime would blow you guys away! I would love you guys to consider watching it!!

No, don't poison them. I love reactions from people who dont know anything about OP. They are so fun
@h.bblaze8969are you serious?

I'm sure you'll be alright, love to you see you guys compare this to the anime when you're done
Oda started publishing it in 1997.
also as a one piece manga reader who’s also caught up with the one piece anime, this live adaptation was done really well!
right???? they used manga as their guide line, they adapted the manga, not the anime so there's some informations that wasn't mention in the anime but has happened in the manga that was shown or mentioned in live action.
Also reacting to the anime with knowledge of the live action will be interesting and will you have a different take in the beginning and also was never done before
This season of OPLA is about 40-45 anime episodes for the east blue arch. Glad you guys are liking the show so far.
The whole 8 episodes that netflix released covered like 40 episodes in the anime, so yeah pacing is really good.
More like 20 ep
They cut essential parts
@@Kkk-mi1ob That's true, but I was wrong anyway. The End of the Arlong Arc was Episode 44 and in these 44 episodes, there was only one real filler episode. I thought there where 4 or 5, but they came after the Arlong Arc.
@@jaynecobb8356I think it’s actually around 250 because I’m pretty sure he showed up in the water seven arc
@@solstyss8977 I've had a look now. We were both so wrong. Garp's first appearance in the anime was in episode 68.🤣
And the first encounter with Ruffy was in Episode 313.
In anime there were 2 reason why Axe hand morgon had Iron Jaw,
1- His Jaw got broken trying to catch Kuro (Captain of Black cats)
2- He had butt chin, which don't inspire fear in people (His kid also had that in anime but its too goofy for LA)
so you can just think his jaw got broken, so that's like an implant or cast for his jaw
As someone who read the one piece manga since 2002 until present day........... i approve of this show. i freaking love it and i'm so happy i got to experience it in live action.
i love all the actors and actresses. i seriously hope they continue with more seasons... pleassseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
Luffy and nami pairing up quickly is understandable if two thieves randomly meet in a high security place and decide to team up
Zoro changed his mind about staying there the whole sentence because Morgan's son told him he was not gonna be released after 7 days.
The live action is a shockingly well done adaptation that has good content for both new and old fans.
hope it at least gets a second season and we get the best char in the entire series :> Bon clay.
You would definitely like One Piece, i am really sure some Tattoos would be added. The live action is really good and a nice and easy start into the show
He definitely is gonna get a tattoo of the entire crew...and i think the..."eyebrow guy" is gonna be Ron's favorite
He is defs getting ace
I will get very concrete here. My bet is on Zoro in the nothing happened scene, and the Trafalgar Law Hand Tatto
The captain of the marine intended to kill Zoro, unlike what he first promised( to release him after 7 days) so Zoro decided to escape.
Realizing he's going to die if he stays, Zoro decides to leave before the 7 days.
everything about the live action was 10/10 the actors, the acting, the store, even the pacing was amazing. they did leave out so much so I recommend watching from the very beginning when you start watching the anime!
glad you guys are watching the live action. the anime is a classic but at 1,000+ episodes we would've waited years for you to finish it

😂😂😂 I hope you guys enjoy it...... but I hope you watch the anime it's waaaay better (obviously)
The anime isn't that good tbh
Agreed. Caveat though. The anime has quite a few fillers. I always skip them but people have said that One Piece fillers are generally good.
If you ever start reacting to the anime, decide for yourself how you're gonna address the fillers. Major thing to note though, most of the fillers aren't canon.
Meh, I think the live action is better for east blue
The story is good. The anime is not that great, it suffers from the same problems as the peers from its generation (the main one being HORRID pacing with tons and tons of wasted time) which even the current episodes of One Piece still suffers from (as an example the only thing that happened in episode 1073 is that they put out a fire, outrageous). They waste so much time that even if the rest is good it doesn't feel as good as it should.
I think the live action does some things better than the anime. Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves
Oda laughed when he first saw him🤣
For people that have never seen the anime, you guys are thinking WAY too much about the anime while watching this lol
The cast choice is absolutely on point. Story-wise because it's a live-action series divided into seasons, so they definitely cut out a lot of stories to fit into the series. I personally still love the original story in manga/anime, but the live-action captured most of the important scenes.
I don't ever plan on watching one piece because of how long it is so I'll probably just watch this live action version with y'all on patreon
Thats a very sad story your missing one of the best anime..I mean best anime
Realistically you can cut like 300 episodes. A lot of them are completely useless filler arcs, non-canon and recaps. There's an episode guide somewhere the tells you which ones you can skip

Ah heck no. Not with the live action lmfao.
You guys need to watch the anime when you have some free time. Enjoy the show
Oh my god! I'm so happy you reacted this. Yehhhh... I love you guys, from the Philippines.
U guys shoulda did the anime tbh
This is a good gateway drug, so to speak, at least.
the anime series is a long long long journey, but absolutely a worthy one. you should give it a watch when you're ready.
I wish you guys watched the anime too😞
The One Piece live action is greattt !! I think it’s a wonderful place to start the series :) Definitely keep watching it
Honestly respect for coming out and saying you're riding the wave. Hope you two enjoy it!
Yayyy, yall i hope after watching this you guys are able to start on the anime, because even though its long, it is worth it
I’m so happy you guys jumped onto the OPLA train! ☺️ I love watching your guy’s reaction to this amazing show, and I can’t wait to see more of you guys watching it.
i'm one of those that discovered you guys with one piece. It's a beautiful journey
I loved this live action, it's a great way to get to know one piece, it will be a pleasure to see reactions from people who don't know the story.
Don't debate either this good or bad just enjoy rice and ginger reaction seems they have quite of lot of laugh and fun in this live action. 😂
This is, I think, the best anime adaption I’ve seen.
