If you want to know how Kuina dies, it's not even important, she falls down the stairs the night after they made that promise together, so it was Beat Zoro in a fight Swear to become best sword fighter in the world with him Take a tumble down the stairs Dead Yeah that's all of what we know of Kuina in the anime right now 1077 episodes lol
Now you get Monkey D. Garps full name. I'm glad they left out the other reveal for later on, but yes, they are family. The only negatives I see with the Live action are the changes to the navy in east blue and Arlon Park, but overall I think it completely gets the job done.
Being the king of the pirates means having the respect of other pirates and changing the course of their lives. That's why Luffy doesn't kill them, whoever does evil, Luffy will defeat them. It's the thought that Luffy has.
You can see the mansion is right behind the well but Zoro took a complete u turn goes all the way to back to Luffy, and when Luffy asked him, he replied that he was heading to the mansion and got lost. That's classic Zoro.

A few fun facts: Zoro fought Kuina 2001 times and he lost every single time. He would train crazy like a dragon ball character every time he did which is why he has great physical strength Kuina is the daughter of the master of the dojo. In volume 1 of the manga, Luffy says he wants at least 10 crewmates.

You guys are quickly becoming my #1 favorite react channels. Your banter, humor, relationship is seriously goals in life. Don't worry about the fresh takes, the rest of the episodes out are on par/better than the first two easily. it only get's better from here on out!
Well this is a thing in One Piece, if you pay close attention you're gonna see that all the villains have their dreams too, twisted ones, but dreams nonetheless, so Oda said that Luffy rarely kills a villain, but he kills their dreams, since dreams are his domain.
The ship is called "Going Merry", tho we usually just call her Merry, based on a Merry-Go-Round (which is sometimes reflected in the OPs or Endings of the anime). And the music motif they used for when the they finally sailed out on the Merry was the melody of the very first OP, which is such a great detail, it actually made me a little teary eyed
some stuff the live action show doesn't clarify but is still canon: kuina and zoro are distant cousins the master teaching them is kuina's dad the way kuina died is that she fell down some wet stairs and hit her head wrong, which taught zoro just how fragile human life is
the music which played, when they set sails with their new ship is the original opening to the anime. it was a nice throwback regarding opening the door. zorro is super strong, like weve seen when he lifted the safe in episode one
Idk if it's just a script thing on live action, but Garp isn't using Coby. He genuinly sees the potential of Coby and you should see it as favoritism. He sees a future in Coby and gives him some challenges to give him more experience. I feel sad that the scrip is making Carlie doubt Garps pure intentions for Coby. In the Anime, Garp literary went to Luffy just so he could let Coby meet Luffy again. I hope this comment helps you change that "user" image of Garp 😭😭
I knew abt OP but the live actions are the first episodes I've watched Knowing Garp is Luffy's grandad will 100% chage that view they have of him But yes it IS funny that there's no real reason to think he's evil Maybe ennemy but he never did anything "evil" So the hate does seem undeserved 🤣
A little detail that they don't cover in the live action is that Kuina is the instructor's daughter. Even when it happened in the manga/anime, I don't think anyone else was suspicious enough to think the dojo master did it 😆
I know I'm super late to the discussion, but this would make more sense to me than her actual cause of death. In real life, falls down the stairs that cause serious injuries and yeah, even death, are not that uncommon. It's actually a pretty realistic scenario, which is why it's always felt SUPER off to me. Because in the One Piece universe (and anime in general), no one freaking dies from things that would kill actual humans. In-universe characters will literally get impaled through the freaking chest and be fine a few minutes later. Kuina, badass sword master, would not have died from tripping and falling down some stairs. I will stand by this.
first, Luffy is not into killing people, second they are pirate so it's technically not their job to stop the villain once and for all, they basically just stopped that one thing they ran into then move on, that's how they roll, it's usually the marine that need to follow things up and clean up the mess afterwards hahah...
The LA didnt change much with Zoro but the simplest things made it hit different. In example in the Anime its way more emotional when Cuina talks about being a girl and being tought by her own father and master that a girl will never gain the physical strenght of a boy when growing up. And also the way Zoro made clear that he doesnt care about gender and she actually can achieve whatever she wants. It was so emotional loaded that her "falling of the stairs and die" was taken from the audience as a suicide. But cuina dying from something so trivial and not fight related was a way to show that not everything is epic and not every death has a meaning that could comfort you she died the moment she gained hope again but without a chance to even start working on that goal and zoro feels responsible to give this one thing to her and be so good that she will see him from the heavens. While the LA told the same story, and i liked the actors and fighting scenes, the emotions just were not there and I am not sure if that is bc they cut some of the dialogue or rushed the scenes too much idk. They really didnt cut a lot, but it seems like that is what the scenes would have needed. When I look a the next backstory you will see, sanji, I think it is perfect and there is nothing cut... im exited for you to see it ❤
Some fun facts if you'd like: -Kaya stays to study and become a doctor. -Zoro lost every time he challenged Kuina, which was 2001 times. -Zoro's reason for 3 swords was "more swords = stronger". -The dojo master said Kuina fell Down D Stairs, which sounds very sus but who knows... -The black-cat pirates had a member who can hypnotize people. -Axe-Hand Morgan was a marine who was hypnotized to believe he captured Captain Kuro, and they hypnotized someone else to believe he was Kuro, making the original Captain able to fake his death when Morgan would kill the fake Kuro, and be promoted. -When Kuro (as Klahadore) fixes his glasses, he uses his palm, which forshadows his claw like weapons since he can't fix his glasses with his fingers with the claws on.
The "dojo master" is Kuina's dad and there's nothing suspicious about it, it was done to show that no matter what a strong swordsman, or well, swordswoman, she was, in the end she was just human and just a kid. If her death was brought back to be some kind of plot twist it would ruin the whole point of her death and how it affected Zoro.
@@FuzzyDlop Thank you!!! Why does english-speaking people suspect so easily of family members (the dad, and also the grandpa) not only in the Live-Action but also in the anime. At least in asian or latin american countries this is NOT a thing, which makes me ask the question: How messed up are english conceptions about family/fatherhood? Just because the father has a quiet personality or the grandpa has a strong personality, it doesn't make them evil. I know it is not anybody's fault, it definitively is a cultural thing of americans, brits, etc, because there must be something in their daily experiences or culture that makes them dislike both quiet and loud people. Almost as a general rule in latin-american fans, at Kuina's burial (at least when watching the anime) we saw a father who was grieving and having regrets and serious thoughts like "was I a good father for my little girl? could I have done a better job? could I have prevented this somehow?" while americans and english-speaking people on the other hand were seeing a silent guy and saying "he is not saying anything nor crying in weaknes and yelling KUINNNNAAAAAAA WEEE WEE WEE WEE SNIF SNIF SNIF, so that's enough evidence to say that he killed his own daughter", my God!!! How messed up are the conceptions of human emotions in general? There are a lot of people who are reserved and they tend to cry not-in-the-open as well as they mourn in silence, are they all psychos for doing so? Excuse me for my rant. Have a nice day!!
In the Manga, Kuina's death is said to have been caused by a fall down a staircase, which resulted in fatal injuries. Well, can't wait to see your reaction to Episode 5 and 6, You'll be surprise. And those episodes are my favourite episodes.
in japan when someone says "they felt down the stairs" they might mean "take their own life" which given the context of how she felt and her heartfelt speech she gave to zoro last time they fought and especially now that we know oda decided to take it away from live action might imply that this was indeed the case of what he meant by it in manga
@@frankcayseron8637 Yeup. Also In my opinion, there are some things that just happen, without any complicated reasons or anything. But most people want things to make sense and have a reason why it happen. I think Eichiro Oda here wants to show many people that there is something called an accident, and it can happen to anyone without any reason. So Kuina did die because she fell down the stairs, because it was her fate that she died at that time. Her time is coming to return to The Almighty.
@@frankcayseron8637 I'm not sure if it was actually Oda's idea. Matt Owens is very familiar with One Piece memes, likely including the Down D. Stairs meme. In fact it's pretty likely he added in subtle minority hinter zoro easter eggs; but was careful not not overdo it so new fans don't get the wrong idea. Because of the Kuina memes, he may have decided the actual reason was embrassing and cut it (explaining his reasoning to Oda if he needed the greenlight).
@@IamGrimalkin oda had to greenlight everything, so everything you see in live action has odas influence or at least approval. So maybe it was Matt idea to begin with which is debatable but final decision to change something lies with oda alone
@@frankcayseron8637 He had to greenlight every change. This isn't really a change, it's just adding vagueness; so it's less clear Oda had to greenlight it. Oda can't micromanage everything.
I actually think Zoro has the most human backstory. Where everyone else has some sort of revenge, tangible loss in their face with other people to push them forward, something tangible and real that they can make their way toward, Zoro’s dream is rather ambiguous. And Kuina dying suddenly is so tragic. In a world of crazy powers, she simply dies from an accident. Despite the crazy abilities in this world, life can still be fragile. I do think the anime/manga did a better job at getting into Zoro’s determination and his sheer willpower, but the child actors who played Zoro and Kuina did a hell of a good job.
I know it will not happen in the near future, but you guys are my favorite reactors and I am really excited to see you react to The anime. This story is incredible.. A mixture of adventure and mystery. The live action is good but I can't say it does the original enough justice.
Honestly, while I love One Piece animation, the anime pace is painful at times. Since they are releasing episodes ALL the time its very....old fashioned in its pacing. Same as Naruto was in its time. Thats one thing the LA actually does better imo. Sure, some stuff is cut, but the heart is all there. One Piece is unparallelled when it comes to pure insane ideas, you never know what the next thing is going to be, and that is quite a feat after so many episodes, but I would love to see some of the old great shonens get a modern treatment when it comes to pace.
@@CarlieAndAngeif you do react to the anime, my suggestion is you check out something called One Pace. Its a fan edit of the show that takes the anime and strips out all of the filler and recaps and keeps only to what is in the manga. Still hundreds of episodes (and they haven’t edited everything yet) so it will keep you going for a while, but it’s about 45% faster on average (some arcs more filler, some arcs less)
In the anime, all of syrup village is confused by how quiet things are after Usopp leaves. They're like "where's the crazy liar guy?" and talk about how they miss his shenanigans now that he's gone.
One thing you guys have to know about Once Piece (in regards to Kuina) is that Oda introduces characters and plots very early on that aren't addressed until hundreds of episodes later. There are even some questions from the first arc that haven't been answered yet over a thousand episodes later.
I remember watching it, but I thought I only got like 245-ish episodes in. And just wait until seasons 2 and/or 3.. They have a record track of reeling people in with the first season, only to ruin a series in season 2 or 3 by pushing in their social agendas.. We already see a little bit of it with season 1.
in the manga/anime they revealed garp (grandpa) in like ep 320+ . so this was a change they made in the live action to introduce him early in the show.
@@moonchild4593 I can't even recognize Ennis Lobby by name. It's been too many years since I've watched. I think I got to Thriller Bark. I didn't think it was that far in.
@@mikkosimonen soon as she was being presented to be his successor, she magically died falling the stairs. in old japanese simply having a girl successor is bad news.
If it makes you feel better about Kuro still being alive the reason Luffy doesn’t kill most of his biggest enemies is because he destroys their dreams instead, which to him is worse than dying
They just turned one of the most chill and friendly character in anime into one of the most hated character in live action series . (talking about garp)
Legend has it that to this day, no one knows how Kuina really died. Hahaha also, carlie's alfred impression was on point. And ange's reaction to that was hella funny. XD
One of the reactors said a pretty interesting thing, I think the Alchemist books teaches you (everyone has their own legend). One piece story isn't just about 1 person(Luffy) but it shows the story of everyone in this world. Every named character in One piece has their own legend, their own story they are trying to achieve. They arent good or bad but rather some of them just harming/doing bad things. Luffy only stops them from doing bad things. He doesn't destroy their own legends/stories. Luffy isn't a punisher So Buggy is following his own legend/story, Garp/Koby are building their own legends/stories, Nami/Zoro/Usopp/Luffy everyone has their own stories going on and we are simply following Luffy's legend but also will see others on his way. So don't think Koby/Garp as villains etc as they are fulfilling their own legends/story
Zoro and Kuina's backstory isnt great in the anime/manga either, but we get to see a more emotional reaction from little zoro, which makes it much better than the live action.

@@TheCoastalRipperwe got a Zoro hater right here. It's my first time watching one piece (anime), I enjoy Zoro for that reason. He's just cool. I don't take it too seriously tbf, I just like one piece because it's fun.
Here is one thing to keep in mind, that the world they are on is large. They are only in the East Blue and the Grand Line will take them around the world to find the One Piece. The adventure is so far is over 1077 episodes in the anime and this might be a little bit of a spoiler but they don't go back to the same island tiwce. I think if they have as much seasons as being discussed then you will grow to like Buggy more. Kuro in Japanese means black and his crew is known as the black cat pirates which is the reason that they took on that form at the end of the episode. There is a difference between Luffy and Usopp in the fact that Luffy will face problems head on but Usopp has a little more of a "avoid conflict" approach. Where Luffy and Usopp is the same is that they will face danger when it comes to their crew members. Usopp also is not a close range fighter and is actually a great sniper. And these 8 episodes basically covers about 45 episodes in the anime. Once they get past this part the story actually gets even better and I can't wait to see how they are going to adapt it.
I'm currently at episode 80 something, so far, the stories I've like the most are Apis, Little Garden and Chopper. Do you think they would adapt all of them? (Chopper is a 100% tbh), but Apis and the dragon? or the cool scenes in the Little Garden?
If you remember when Garp interrogated Coby, once he found that the pirates name was Luffy and that he had a straw hat, his demeanor changed completely.
No... The dude did not kill Kuina, because Kuina is his daughter. Kuina's death is kinda still mystery for me, I was just done with Marineford War(Episode 494) and still no explanation to her death. There's a theory out there that said, She committed the unalive thingy because of stress or depression of being a female swordsman or woman. Also it's really a big thing for the master to trust Zoro with Wado Ichimonji as stated that it is a rare blade, I don't know the full capability of the blade yet. There's an old meme out there "Kuina D. Stairs" because that's the only explanation they gave in the anime, she fell from the stairs... Garp is supposed to reveal his family roots after the Enies Lobby saga, but the show decided to do it here because they wanted a person that is constantly chasing the Straw Hat Pirates, also it was approved by Oda so... Yeah.
Don't forget the ship! Luffy said the right ship is a part of the crew! So their crew is at five members now! Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and the Going Merry.
The live action is good, but I can't deny that they HAD to leave out a LOT of things (also alter many scenes) from the anime to fit a huge amount of episodes in one live action episodes. Especially the backstories. You guys should REALLY watch and react to the absolute masterpiece of an anime that it is! Maybe do 5-6 episodes at a time. That'll gonna be the best hit for your channel for sure!
You asked how many crewmates there will be. It was already foreshadowed in episode 1: a total of 10. Also I love your reactions, look forward to y’all watching One Piece the anime some day. This is my favourite reaction channel!
Meh, I could see them adding more; I don't think Luffy is dogmatic about it. He has 9 now and has open crew offers to at least 5 people, he's not going to refuse them if they all accept.
Felt the same way about the backstory. To be fair to the young actors, I don't really think their conviction was the problem. I think the whole thing was just poorly structured. IMO, there should've been more of a build up to Kuina's reveal about how she feels that her potential is limited and her efforts are pointless simply because of the way she was born. That is a very strong message. I'd put more focus on Kuina being sort of aloof, cold, stoic, or even depressed despite being the best in her class. That would create an air of mystery around the character and make the reveal hit that much harder when she finally tells Zoro. The way she said it was sort of awkward and unprompted, which really makes it seem like they were just checking boxes or reading off a script and that can play a role in someone like Ange getting that cringe feeling. It seems like there was much more of an emphasis on her funeral and Zoro's inheritance of her sword, which IMO is way less important to his character than the promise he made to her.
Have you watched the anime? Or read the manga? If not, just to clarify the back story for zoro is more so about why the promise was important and how he obtained his sword. I'd say more then anything it portrayed albeit in cringy way everything we needed to know about the promise. Just like in the anime and manga. We just get "oops stair- kun slip" and that's how we are told shes dead then the rest is pretty much the same with live action. Him trying to fulfill this promise for both him and her. (live action also never clarified which realllllly sucks but zoro and kuina dueld over 2000 times with zoro never winning a single round)
@@GreenTeam-re3jy Maybe I phrased my comment poorly. The fact that she's a woman in a male-dominated artform and has to overcome that is a completely fine lesson. It's synonymous with being unable to do what you love because of some characteristic that's beyond your control. For example, being a short guy who loves basketball. I didn't find it cringe. I thought the fact that she said it out of nowhere was the part that's cringe. It felt unnatural and random. And yes, I have seen the anime. I'm on episode 1018.
"It's a little bit lame, but I thought it was epic" That pretty much sums One Piece for me lol. Can wait for the live action show to feature Señor Pink.
Ok I wanna clear this up... Just because zoro had a badass intro scene doesn't mean he is the strongest, zoro actually weaker than luffy, if zoro fought kuro it would be immediate L for zoro...
Dont assume one piece world like real world. The same logics don't apply in that world. Pirates in one piece world get out to be totally free. So when a pirate crew picks a theme they go all in. They arent ashamed nor anyone else thinks that either. You already met Buggy and Alvida. Buggy's theme was circus so his whole crew had fun with it and everyone is someone in the circus like a unicycle riding person. Same with Alvida her theme was beauty so her ship is beautiful as well as her canons. So with Kuro his theme is cats so his ship(not shown here) looked like cat so is his crew. Don't think like why they are wearing like that as they wouldn't be pirates if they wanted to be bound by rules. Their identity is important to them and they go all in with that identity. you can see by a mile and knew instantly who some is
Kuro living is actually the perfect fate for him. Now that the Marines know he's alive, he'll be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Which is literally what he does when we last see him. Also you are now true One Piece fans, theorizing that Kuina's father killed her.
I don't know how it's received by long time fans but in my case, I like this change. I watched the live action knowing nothing of OP, and now I've started the anime, and I was surprised to see Merry alive and well in it! And spoilers below for the anime: I'm not very far yet (just finished Alabasta Arc), and I love the anime, but I'm a bit annoyed by the fact that no one seems to ever die, it lowers the stakes imo. When Ingaram came back, I was like "Wait, how? OK, no one dies in this" and so I wasn't that moved by Pell's "sacrifice", all I could think was "well no need to worry, I don't know how he could survive that explosion but I know he will"... and he did.
@@acmh7538 Well as a long time fan it's kinda sad because now Kaya has no one with her. Merry is dead and the Usopp Pirates kids don't exist so she's all alone now. As for Igaram, if you finished Alabasta then you would know Robin was never the type to go for the kill so it fits her character that she spared him. As for OP's low kill count, that's just something you have to accept.
Also I don't know if they'll go over it, but in the source material, Kuina loses her life by falling down the stairs. Apparently she goes to get something and falls, breaking her neck in the process. Despite the dumb meme that fans created, the point of the scene is that even though many characters are immensely strong in One Piece, even the most mundane of things can still end their journey. Also Zoro survived being dropped into the well because Merry's body broke his fall.
In the anime and manga, Kuina dies in an accident (she trips and falls down a flight of stairs). I don't think it's a big deal that they omitted this detail, but it was a little weird that they didn't say *anything* about how she died (like "There was an accident").
did you notice that the reason he always adjusted his glasses with the bottom part of his hands is because of the crawls? he did it the whole time and later we found out why.
@Carlie & Ange, 27:17 Regular pirates would kill each other, right? We've seen it--Alvida killing the other pirates in the first episode! Luffy is consistent with his message: "I'm a different kind of pirate." Luffy doesn't aim to kill people, he just beats them. Maybe we'll see him later on, when he doesn't have a choice, but killing, just isn't his thing--young Luffy would have!
It's worth remembering that Luffy is NOT a hero. He does what he feels like in the moment and doesn't usually think long-term. He fought Kuro because he was there and personally invested. Once he ruined his plan and saved his friends, he stopped caring enough to chase him down and finish the job. Same with the other villains. It's not his responsibility anymore.
You guys should react to the anime everything is explained and everything is tied up nicely given it can be sometimes too drawn out, I know the live action has only 8 episodes so they have to rush many things, but as you guys can see in this episode they didn’t properly explain zoro’s back story and made it quite confusing which in the anime his back story was really well done and properly shown.

@@hohohoaaa2262 there is a bounty poster for Django in the LA though. even if it was just an easter egg, it can be inferred that he does exists in the LA but was either killed by Kuro or just didn't get to join the trio to get to Syrup Village (which could be a reference to how Django got separated from the rest of Black Cat Pirates after this arc in the manga, he basically got left out as the other sailed earlier)
That moment where Nami looks so irritated and Luffy looks so smug about winning the bet is just… top tier for me.
Exactly. The actors nailed these moments.

Carlie is so bloodthirsty during these episodes its hilarious😂
Makenyu zoro makes all of us thirsty
Its understandable since modern fiction writers are incapable of killing of villains
Well this is a thing in One Piece, if you pay close attention you're gonna see that all the villains have their dreams too, twisted ones, but dreams nonetheless, so Oda said that Luffy rarely kills a villain, but he kills their dreams, since dreams are his domain.
Although Luffy also failed to kill Buggy's dreams, so that didn't work either...
The ship is called "Going Merry", tho we usually just call her Merry, based on a Merry-Go-Round (which is sometimes reflected in the OPs or Endings of the anime).
And the music motif they used for when the they finally sailed out on the Merry was the melody of the very first OP, which is such a great detail, it actually made me a little teary eyed
some stuff the live action show doesn't clarify but is still canon:
kuina and zoro are distant cousins
the master teaching them is kuina's dad
the way kuina died is that she fell down some wet stairs and hit her head wrong, which taught zoro just how fragile human life is
the music which played, when they set sails with their new ship is the original opening to the anime. it was a nice throwback
regarding opening the door. zorro is super strong, like weve seen when he lifted the safe in episode one
I thought Námi, Usopp and Kaya loosened the protection a bit while trying to deactivate it in the parents bedroom.
I knew abt OP but the live actions are the first episodes I've watched
Knowing Garp is Luffy's grandad will 100% chage that view they have of him
But yes it IS funny that there's no real reason to think he's evil
Maybe ennemy but he never did anything "evil"
So the hate does seem undeserved 🤣

A little detail that they don't cover in the live action is that Kuina is the instructor's daughter. Even when it happened in the manga/anime, I don't think anyone else was suspicious enough to think the dojo master did it 😆
It would have been funny if he walked a way from young zoro and started smirking with a evil face
I didn't watch the anime and even I knew she was his daughter
There have been theories that koshiro did kill kuina
I know I'm super late to the discussion, but this would make more sense to me than her actual cause of death. In real life, falls down the stairs that cause serious injuries and yeah, even death, are not that uncommon. It's actually a pretty realistic scenario, which is why it's always felt SUPER off to me. Because in the One Piece universe (and anime in general), no one freaking dies from things that would kill actual humans. In-universe characters will literally get impaled through the freaking chest and be fine a few minutes later. Kuina, badass sword master, would not have died from tripping and falling down some stairs. I will stand by this.
Carlie asking constantly for Kuro to be slaughtered absolutely made my day!😂
first, Luffy is not into killing people, second they are pirate so it's technically not their job to stop the villain once and for all, they basically just stopped that one thing they ran into then move on, that's how they roll, it's usually the marine that need to follow things up and clean up the mess afterwards hahah...

11:25 Zoro Flashback
21:55 Bell, New Ship, Kiss
26:02 Grandpa?!
When I look a the next backstory you will see, sanji, I think it is perfect and there is nothing cut... im exited for you to see it ❤
Some fun facts if you'd like:
-Kaya stays to study and become a doctor.

@@frankcayseron8637
I'm not sure if it was actually Oda's idea.
@@frankcayseron8637
He had to greenlight every change.

Yeah I agree with u, I was quite surprised when they said they found it cringe
I know it will not happen in the near future, but you guys are my favorite reactors and I am really excited to see you react to The anime. This story is incredible.. A mixture of adventure and mystery. The live action is good but I can't say it does the original enough justice.
Im sure we’ll get to the anime at some stage! ❤️
@@CarlieAndAnge oh man that would be so freaking awesome!! 1000 episodes is content for years lmao
I don't think it's supposed to do justice to the anime in anyway..but it was still on point!
19:06 "Is he getting closer?"
Right at the point where Zorro ends up back at the entrance xD

31:59 It was “he’s got no family to speak of”. And it’s because Shanks’ crew didn’t know about his grandpa.
So the Garp reveal of being Luffy’s grandpa is the spoiler for the anime. That doesn’t happen in anime for a much longer time
Down D Stairs is the strongest villain and one piece history
Legend has it that to this day, no one knows how Kuina really died. Hahaha also, carlie's alfred impression was on point. And ange's reaction to that was hella funny. XD
i already know that y'all would LOVE the anime
If you remember luffy flashback story kid luffy wears marines shirts so maybe from there you can theorize everything why "granpa" is mad😅😂
Luffy isn't a punisher
So Buggy is following his own legend/story, Garp/Koby are building their own legends/stories, Nami/Zoro/Usopp/Luffy everyone has their own stories going on and we are simply following Luffy's legend but also will see others on his way. So don't think Koby/Garp as villains etc as they are fulfilling their own legends/story
Zoro and Kuina's backstory isnt great in the anime/manga either, but we get to see a more emotional reaction from little zoro, which makes it much better than the live action.
Which is why zoro is an overhyped trash character w/o personality, liked only for his forced 'epic' fights

In the anime it shows the town actually love usopp and understood he needed attention and they enjoyed playing with him even tho they acted mad.

Yeah.

Meh, I could see them adding more; I don't think Luffy is dogmatic about it.
He has 9 now and has open crew offers to at least 5 people, he's not going to refuse them if they all accept.
what you'll learn is when luffy stops smiling, he's serious. and when zoro starts smiling (and puts on his bandana), he's serious
Lets goooo Ange! More Helmeppo props 😄
Yeah, her saying no woman can beat a man made me cringe

Killing isn't really Luffy's style. He thinks taking away someone's dreams is a worse fate.

Luffy said in the first episode how many crew mates he wants to have. Just because you asked how many members we will get
"It's a little bit lame, but I thought it was epic" That pretty much sums One Piece for me lol. Can wait for the live action show to feature Señor Pink.
one of the first things that Luffy says in the first episode is that he wanted 10 crew members and a bird. The bird than flew away.
Want every single watcher to get past ep 4 nowadays..now waiting for the reaction to 2nd half
Ok I wanna clear this up... Just because zoro had a badass intro scene doesn't mean he is the strongest, zoro actually weaker than luffy, if zoro fought kuro it would be immediate L for zoro...
OMG the predictions🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s getting more and more outrageous I love it
Dont assume one piece world like real world.

Btw, Merry actually survived in the anime, so killing him off was a change
I don't know how it's received by long time fans but in my case, I like this change. I watched the live action knowing nothing of OP, and now I've started the anime, and I was surprised to see Merry alive and well in it! And spoilers below for the anime:
I'm not very far yet (just finished Alabasta Arc), and I love the anime, but I'm a bit annoyed by the fact that no one seems to ever die, it lowers the stakes imo.
One of Usopp's major themes is bravery, good of you two to pick up on it ^^
Also I don't know if they'll go over it, but in the source material, Kuina loses her life by falling down the stairs.
Carlie, Zoro will always be my favorite,

@Carlie & Ange,
27:17 Regular pirates would kill each other, right?
