Good job getting it started. That surging you are getting when it’s idling (I.e. when not spraying) is a plugged pilot jet in the carburetor. Clean that out and the idle will level out for you. Had the same problem on my Honda GCV 160 powered pressure washer and my Honda GCV 190 lawn mower. Cleaned out the pilot jets on both and they now idle smoothly.
Interesting. Also holding handle in will help it start faster or at least press it after a few pulls. It doesn’t use gas oil mix. Just gas and separate oil
The 50:1 oil is to lubricate the cylinder just a little. We didn’t know how long the unit had been sitting up and what kind of condition the 10w30 in the unit was in. It’s just an extra precaution.
There’s videos on this Honda gcv that show you how to remedy the low pressure problem you are having. If it stays on low throttle you might be having another issue. Hope this helps I know it’s been 10months since you posted this lol
I have a very similar power washer but could not find the model and serial number to purchase the water inlet tube.Could you please tell me what is the model and serial number of your GCV190? Thanks for your help
I tried this today with gas only to the cylinder and it started up immediately on first pull and then died. Tried again and same thing. Does adding the oil to the gas and then putting some in the spark plug cylinder allow it to run longer? I might have to clean out the carburetor. It's just a shame because I used this once. Drained the gas from the fuel line before the winter and even used fuel pump saver. My ryobi 3300 gas powered machine isn't even 1 year old.
Sometimes, it primes it just enough to unclog the carb, but if it’s not working, then yes you will probably need to clean the carb. Adding the oil just protects the cylinder a little more in the instance that it has sat up a long time or has old oil in it.
I have one of these that had a gummed up carb unfortunately I keep finding more and more issues with everything from corrosion build up on the idle down cable to hidden to dryed out gaskets it looked great when the guy gave it to me
I purchased a same engine pressure washer and I have cleaned out carburetor, cleaned out gas tank replaced oil and replaced gas and spark plug and still won’t turn over I do have spark just like you guys tested but still won’t start
Did you pull the spark plug and dribble a little bit of 50:1 two cycle gas directly in the cylinder, before reinstalling the spark plug and trying to start?
Maybe hook the water up and have a friend hold the trigger on the water while you try to start. This will release the pressure that the water pump creates against the engine, hopefully allowing it to start easier.
50:1 gas/oil mix. This is generally used in 2 cycle engines, like my weedeater, but it doesn’t hurt 4 cycle engines. Just treat em right with a little oil mixed in, in case they have been sitting up dry.
No, I mean 50 parts non-ethanol fuel (if available) and one part 2 cycle oil. Many weedeaters and blowers run a mixture like this because of their 2 cycle engines. 4 cycle engine, like the pressure washer don’t have to run a mixture of oil in the gas, but it doesn’t hurt them, especially if they have not run in a while.
I am in Vietnam. I want to buy the device as show in the video. Used tubers $ 100 or less than $ 100, your shop has no stock. Can you show me where to buy it. Hope you help me.. Thank you!

Is there a throttle control on this motor. Cant seem to find it. Just stays on low power and wont build pressure.

That actually belonged to a friend of mine and he no longer has it. Sorry that I couldn’t help.

Hi doez this p/w have a place for pump oil?
I have one of these that had a gummed up carb unfortunately I keep finding more and more issues with everything from corrosion build up on the idle down cable to hidden to dryed out gaskets it looked great when the guy gave it to me
Sucks when that happens. At least you got it at the right price.
I wanna work on stuff with YOU GUYS! Havin' fun & workin' at the same time.
Working on a project with friends is one of life’s real pleasures… and pains! Ha! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

@@budgetprojectsbydavid5263 yes did exactly that and even checked for spark and it's there. Still won't start. Thanks for the video by the way.

Will try that. Thank you sir
No problem. Please let us know if that worked.
0:09 That is probably oil leaking from the engine. I have the same pressure washer and it has a slow leak in the same place.
What did u pour in the spark plug hole

I’m doing this today lol
Good deal! Hope it start up quickly for you and remember to hook the water up first, unlike me in the video!
Hi 50:1 oil/ mix you mean ethnol +gas, please clarify

Thank you so MUCH!!!!!!!!
He just called, said he needs his power washer back now
Hahaha! He needs to take that up with Mike!
What type of spark plug is that?
BPR6ES is what I believe Honda manual recommends. It’s made by NGK. I’m not sure what plug is in my buddy’s pressure washer in the video.
$348 roughly.
Beer is necessary
Indeed, it is.
guy with beer is annoying
