My new pressure washer constantly stalled after several minutes of use. I would restart it and it would stall again and again. I found the problem to be worse when the gas tank was full. Based on where I live it was too much of a hassle to return it via the warranty. I drilled a small hole through the gas cap and problem totally solved.
My Generac pressure washer will run fine for 20-30 minutes then cuts out and will not restart. Gas is fresh and I have replaced the air filters. It will run fine if I take the breather tube off. Not sure what is up and have never seen this with my other equipment.

My Excel XR2750 pressure washer with 6.0 hp Honda will run perfectly for about 20-30 seconds then sputter, backfire, and almost stall out then about 10 seconds later comes back to life as normal. This is without spraying, When spraying it sputter/stalls/backfires when pulling the trigger on the wand, then recovers when releasing the trigger. Thanks for any suggestions. TJB

It does have a return line from the carb but, Looking at the gas cap and found it has no air hole at all. Left the cap on very loosely and it ran Ok. Mebbe I’ll drill a hole in it for future.
mine is the opposite. I have to squeeze the trigger on the gun and release the water pressure, then restart it will not continue running if i release the trigger,

Not enough seal I noticed will kill the motor shortly after starting (or too much seal) #6: Check the throttle spring on top of the carburetor. If it is too loose it seems to make the system die after about 5 seconds. There is a hard wire and a thin spring wire. The spring wire can get loose and cause it to die after start up. This was my issue with mine as it did not adjust correctly.
I really believe there is a heat sensor that stops the engine when it overheats (mine after about 20 min). After cooling down it runs great again, I can find no information describing this, but there seems to be a heat sensor mounted on the engine!
Or a stuck unloader valve, look it up, if your pressure washer starts and stalls, pull the trigger, if it fires out a massive blast, the valve is the issue, or if after it stalls and the pull string is very hard or locked up is a good hint its the unloader valve
@@nicholas6231 I just bought a craftsman 3000psi last week from Reno Depot and it dies after 10 mins... I empty the carburetor and then it works for 5 mins then shuts off again... if you found a fix what is it? thanks
The simple thing to do is, when you are done using the washer, drain the fuel from the tank and carb, there should be a drain plug on the bottom of the carb, then you won't have these problems. If that is too hard, then get a electric washer!!!
Mine runs for 1-2 mins and dies, over and over. Starts right up on first pull, but won't stay running. No fuel filter present, carb has been cleaned, new non-oxy premium gas. Any ideas other than the gas cap and air filter?

I thought that was the problem. Took the wand apart and lost the small spring in the process. Ugh ! Not spending another $40.00 for a new wand. Done with it . Going to remove the motor and use it for a go cart. What. PIA !!
I found that replacing the pressure washer works every time.
Worked for me last year now faced with same problem. Ugh.

here I’ll solve 98% of small engine issues, STOP USING PUMP FUEL YOU PUT IN YOUR VEHICLE. RUN REC 90! Ethanol free . Ethanol destroys small engines

I added 2oz of sea foam to fuel and it hasn’t missed a beat. I will remove and clean tank this weekend and add fuel filter.

low oil sensor. it is a small screw in switch on the side low down on the engine. it grounds out the plug when activated.

Mine will only reun few seconds after i prime it and wont start again unless i prime it.

You may be experiencing vapor lock which will happen if the gas gets too hot.
That was my thinking.

Unplug your low oil shut off and it’s fixed
Ultrasonic cleaners work amazingly with mild to medium carburetor clogs.

My uncle gave me a few pressure washers to fix and one of them has that same problem!
I always have the pressure hose open with a ball valve and water running when turning on the machine.

@@tims7339 gas cap they have carbon in them due to epa cry babys they harden even when new
It's none of this stuff ! Could be oil levels or oil is old need changed has safety that turn it of when gets hot or low oil

I did just refill my gas tank to the top after running it dry.

I just brought the craft man Honda 3000 psi yesterday and it keeps cutting off! I guess I will return
I know exactly what’s wrong. The gas cap vent is clogged. I drilled a hole in mine.

Took the wand apart and lost the small spring in the process. Ugh ! Not spending another $40.00 for a new wand.
