  • This was an overnight trip near Asotin, Washington. We started up the North Fork of Asotin Creek toward the Pinkham Butte junction where we gained Pinkham Butte / Bracken Ridge. From there we went through a wildlife area and down back to Lickfork Road where we connected back up with the Winter Trailhead / Gate Closure area.
This area is closed to all motorized use in the winter due to big game wintering in the area. However foot / horse / bike access is still allowed. On the ridge to cook and stay warm we built a temporary fire pit in the muddy closed 4x4 road and destroyed the fire pit the following morning to leave no trace and not block 4x4 access.

Bummer about the rain and clouds, but I love the mist on the mountains for awesome atmosphere! Cool to know there are places to go that a nearly snow free in February. That was a really wonderful time lapse too. Thanks!

Lacey (sp?) is quite the hiker! You're lucky to have such a good backpacking partner! Love the food choices also.

What an awesome timelapse! I'm going to have to look this one up, I'm guessing just a little north of the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness. Nice that you found a place to get some miles in!

Ha my apologies! I'm actually gunna be doing the same route again from troy to asotin creek in April or over memorial weekend in May. I clocked 56 miles when I did it last may. You're more then welcome to join. But I'll try and email you soon on that. I can let you know on the snow in wenaha. I'm hiking out there from troy up to Melton creek this next weekend.

If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

One does hear the bird shot! Loving your hunting videos this season Aaron. I get off work, crack a beer and watch a good almost hours worth of duck hunting is very therapeutic

My pleasure Andrew. I enjoy filming them for you. One of these days you should join in on a hunt. A different meaning for the word "wild." Can't wait to see some of the stuff you produce this season. To wilderness and wildness. @@NorthwestWanderer
